We now return the darkness save for the lights from Cacey's glowing eyes and floating crystal balls. She was smiling.
"Welcome back. If you are just turning in, Bugs Bunny was selected by the wheel to use the next mystery envelope and he has chosen Mystery Reserves." Cacey explained. Then, her smile got bigger. "Yes, I think we are ALL looking forward to it."
She then spread her arms.
"Mystery Reserves is a rather simple concept. Basically, whenever someone picks it, Orange-Ratchet will add in a third Mystery Fighter and have THEM be the final fighter of the section." Cacey added. "Now you may think that this is somewhat underwhelming, especially to previous sections."
She then smiled.
"...But that is just the thing. The Mystery Fighter list is not picked by Orange-Ratchet. They are picked by YOU." Cacey beamed.
Then, we see nine crystal balls float by in front of her in a line.
"That's right. The Mystery Fighter Reserve will be picked by a choice YOU said." Cacey noted. "And you don't have to suggest one person, you can suggest as many as you want."
While passing the middle of the camera, the crystal balls showed a certain character each: Yang from RWBY, Yumi from Hi Hi PuffyAmiYumi, Jack Spicer from Xiaolin Showdown, Guts Man from Megaman, N. Gin from Crash Bandicoot, Kao the Kangaroo, Storm from X-Men, Faust from Guilty Gear and Inspector Gadget.
"There is no limit to what you suggest just as long as they are not from the nodes that are already in the main roster who were previously used as Mystery Fighters." Cacey pointed out. "However, you are free to have loopholes like one of the USA Sports Team seeing that they didn't appear in King of Fighters XV or Jason Voorhees from Friday the 13th seeing that the tournament started BEFORE Multiversus' comeback so he isn't the main roster."
With that, the crystal balls float away.
"So as my boss would say: Go nuts. However, please remember that not everyone could get a spot seeing that there could be so many times Mystery Reserves could turn up." Cacey said before pausing. "Then again, seeing how large the roster is compared to the last tournament, maybe it would. We just have to wait and see. Now back to Drake and Ashley with the main tournament."
With that, the lights went back on with Drake and Ashley looking excited.
"Thank you, Cacey!" Drake grinned. "Man, never gets the heart pumping more than a good Mystery Reserve round!"
"Indeed!" Ashley beamed. He then paused. "Hey, Drake?"
"Yeah, Ashley?" The vampire asked.
"Do you think OUR Mystery Fighter suggestion list is a little much?" The wizard frowned.
Drake blinked twice. "...What do you mean?"
"Well, think about it. Most of the voters cast their Mystery Fighter suggestions WITHOUT thinking it would interact with a specific fighter in the main roster." Ashley noted. "TINYHAMMER on the other hand did."
"...I mean I think Xero chose Dynomutt aka Tinyhammer's choice in the last tournament because he interacted with Dexter before." Drake reminded. "So it is not out of the question."
"True…" Ashley noted.
"And besides, if Xero doesn't want to use my idea, it is not the end of the world." Drake offered. "I don't think there is a single bad suggestion there."
"Right. Every node is deserving of a chance at least once." Ashley smiled.
"Right!" Drake grinned.
Then, his face soured before glaring to the side.
"...I just wish THEY learned that." Drake spat.
Ashley's smile vanished as he looked concerned. Fortunately, Drake looked like he remembered something.
"Oh, before you get excited, the Mystery Reserve for this section has already been chosen." Drake said. "You know as a template just like Haohmaru was for the last Tournament of Kikai or Elmer Fudd being the first Safe Zone Challenger."
"R-Right…" Ashley said. "So yeah, you may have to wait a few more sections before the first actual fan-submitted Mystery Reserve."
"Well, we will get to it when we get to it, but for now, let's cover the surviving fighters and the first five new fighters!" Drake grinned.
GARNET
NODE: MULTIVERSUS/STEVEN UNIVERSE
ENTERED IN: Section 1; Number 6
OVERALL ELIMINATIONS: 5
"I know that I already said this so many times, but Garnet is proving why she is Stronger Than You by being the long-fasting fighter in the rind!" Drake grinned.
"Well, she is definitely stronger than Ed from Street Fighter, Landia from Kirby, Nasty Canasta from Looney Tunes: World of Mayhem, Dante from Playstation All-Stars Battle Royale and Clair from Ehrgeiz." Ashley noted. "Question is… Who is next or would Clair be her last hurrah?"
PATRICK STAR
NODE: NICKELODEON ALL-STARS/SPONGEBOB SQUAREPANTS
ENTERED IN: Section 2; Number 37
OVERALL ELIMINATIONS: 4
"I am still stunned that Patrick made it this far, especially since you saw how he did in the third Battle of the Luminaries." Ashley noted.
"Yeah, I was thinking the same thing. And so was Elmer Fudd from Looney Tunes: World of Mayhem, Sulley from Kingdom Hearts, Mr. Frosty from Kirby and Aggron from Pokemon." Drake shrugged. "But here we are!"
MEWTWO
NODE: POKEMON
ENTERED IN: Section 2; Number 45
OVERALL ELIMINATIONS: 4
"Mewtwo on the other hand, I am not surprised at all that he made it this far." Drake smirked.
"Indeed, showing that he is the runner-up of the first Battle of the Luminaries AND Tournament of Kikai, he made swift work of Numbuh One from Cartoon Network: Punch-Time Explosion, Bentley from Sly Cooper, Hugo from Final Fight and Shingo from King of Fighters XV!" Ashley beamed.
PUDDING FONG
NODE: TOKYO MEW MEW
ENTERED IN: Section 3; Number 50
OVERALL ELIMINATIONS: 3
"...It feels weird to see Pudding without Chowder when they were basically joined at the hip when the latter comforted the former after Ichigo and Retasu got kidnapped." Ashley frowned.
"Still, I hope that doesn't mean she will lose her fighting spirit." Drake noted. "Especially she did a great job with her eliminations of Shun'ei and Nakoruru from King of Fighters XV and E. Honda from Street Fighter!"
ARIEL
NODE: KINGDOM HEARTS/THE LITTLE MERMAID
ENTERED IN: Section 3; Number 63
OVERALL ELIMINATIONS: 3
"And here's another prominent character in the last tournament: Ariel!" Drake grinned.
"Now that she has gone through her arc about not being able to enter the tournament, she has overrun Oatchi from Pikmin 4, Big Band from Skullgirls and Vilgax from Cartoon Network: Punch-Time Explosion." Ashley smiled.
PENNY PROUD
NODE: DISNEY TELEVISION ANIMATIONS ALL-STARS/THE PROUD FAMILY
ENTERED IN: Section 3; Number 75
OVERALL ELIMINATIONS: 1
"She had a bit of a slow start with Jack O'Lantern from the Grim Adventures: Billy and Mandy, but Penny Proud made up for it with her next elimination of Wave from Sonic the Hedgehog!" Ashley smiled.
"And I was worried for her in the last section, but it seems the winner of the first Tournament of Kikai isn't going out that easy!" Drake grinned.
JACK SKELLINGTON
NODE: KINGDOM HEARTS/THE NIGHTMARE BEFORE CHRISTMAS
ENTERED IN: Section 4; Number 79
OVERALL ELIMINATIONS: 1
"He may have been too early for the Halloween section, however, Jack Skellington is never one to tone down the spooky spirit!" Drake grinned.
"Indeed. Just like in the last tournament, he has taken down a Belmont, in this case, Richter from Super Smash Bros!" Ashley added.
PICHU
NODE: POKEMON
ENTERED IN: Section 4; Number 80
OVERALL ELIMINATIONS: 1
"Making up for the last tournament is Pichu!" Ashley beamed.
"Indeed, sure he ended up brainwashed and then dying and NOT-dying in the most painful way." Drake said. He then brightened up. "But here, he is not going to let it get him down and proved that against Scrat from Ice Age!"
BEAST
NODE: KINGDOM HEARTS/BEAUTY AND THE BEAST
ENTERED IN: Section 4; Number 82
OVERALL ELIMINATIONS: 1
"Beast… Or Adam depending on who is asking… Is doing a better job than he did in the last Tournament of Kikai." Drake smiled.
"Yes, not only did he eliminate Lily from Street Fighter, but he also got the SECOND-TOP slot." Ashley reminded. "Maybe he would do better than this tournament, but it is too early to tell."
RON STOPPABLE
NODE: KIM POSSIBLE
ENTERED IN: Section 4; Number 83
OVERALL ELIMINATIONS: 1
"...Okay, no offence to Ron, but how do I hype him up when it was actually RUFUS doing most of the work?" Ashley asked. He then paused. "...Wait, that sounds just like a normal Kim Possible episode."
Drake rolled his eyes. "...Okay, so Ron didn't have that much luck against Kazuya from Super Smash Bros until Rufus and Kimchi saved their respective owners. But sometimes, you gotta start a streak with a slow start before getting going."
BLANKA
NODE: STREET FIGHTER
ENTERED IN: Section 4; Number 85
OVERALL ELIMINATIONS: 1
"He may have calmed down in recent years, but Blanka is still the lovable rushdown brute we know him for." Drake grinned.
"Indeed. Treecko from Pokemon recently learned that the hard way as she turned into a flash in the pan." Ashley frowned.
USHI
NODE: FIGHTERS' DESTINY
ENTERED IN: Section 4; Number 86
OVERALL ELIMINATIONS: 1
"Twice-in-a-row, the obscure dancing cow had managed to survive not only a section in the first Tournament of Kikai, but also the SECOND one as well!" Ashley grinned.
"But the question is… Would she actually flip the couch with her old score or will her elimination of Lion from Tom & Jerry: War of the Whiskers be her only one?" Drake asked.
MARX
NODE: KIRBY
ENTERED IN: Section 4; Number 88
OVERALL ELIMINATIONS: 1
BIG GUY ALERT!
"Ooh, we have a little terror making it to the next round!" Drake smirked.
Ashley rolled his eyes. "And that is the POLITE way of putting it. I am sure that Chowder from Cartoon Network: Punch-Time Explosion would have more choice words about Marx AND the final boss powers he got from the Safe Zone Challenge!"
THE DEVIL
NODE: CUPHEAD
ENTERED IN: Section 4; Number 90
OVERALL ELIMINATIONS: 1
"...Speaking of the Devil of their node and he has appeared." Ashley snarked.
"Good one, Ash." Drake smirked. "But yeah, the Devil, just like King Dice, is doing a delightful job so far with his elimination of Ike from Super Smash Bros! Especially since he is going to be a part of the Devil group."
BUGS BUNNY
NODE: LOONEY TUNES: WORLD OF MAYHEM
ENTERED IN: Section 4; Number 92
OVERALL ELIMINATIONS: 1
"Okay, is anyone surprised that Bugs Bunny made the next round, let alone in the top slot?" Drake smirked. "The only reason he didn't have a BIGGER blowout is because he debuted in a Big Guy Blocker!"
"Even still, his elimination of the Panda King from Sly Cooper has proven that he hasn't lost his touch!" Ashley nodded. "Now onto the new fighters!"
KING OF DINOSAURS
NODE: KING OF FIGHTERS XV
Drake gave a blank pause as Ashley raised an eyebrow.
"Oh, look, it is Not-Tizoc." Ashley noted.
"Mm…" Drake mused, rubbing his chin.
Ashley looked at his friend. "Is something the matter, Drake?"
"Um, no, you know that I may be looking at the roster for the fourth Battle of the Luminaries?" The vampire asked.
"Um, yeah?" Ashley asked.
Drake then got out a tablet and started to fiddle with it. "I just need to make a small edit to it."
"Really? I thought that you said that unless you would add a brand-new fighter to each team, you don't want to change the King of Fighters roster from the third tournament because you felt like it felt like the perfect Battle of the Luminaries roster?" Ashley asked.
"Yeah, and I still stand by that." Drake offered. "However, there is something that came up recently that made me switch."
At first, Ashley looked confused at this. Then, his eyes widened in realisation. "Wait… Are you going to…"
"But anyway, onto the King of Dinosaurs!" Drake grinned. "He is your standard Mighty Glacier grappler! He moves slowly, but hits hard!"
"Um, right…" Ashley said, confused. "Also, those claws, teeth and tail are not for show. He could use them to slash, bite and tail-whip respectively!"
"As expected from a heel wrestler! However, he DOES have some standard wrestling moves like his Zetsumetsu Hurricane which is a spinning Izuna Drop!" Drake grinned.
"The King of Dinosaurs may be recent, but he is still willing to be dirty to anyone who underestimates him!" Ashley said.
BANDANA WADDLE DEE
NODE: KIRBY
Drake's eyes lit up. "BANDANA WADDLE DEE!"
"I remembered him all the way back in the first Tournament of Kikai!" Ashley noted. "And the weird part? He wasn't even part of the original Mystery Fighter list! He was a Mystery Reserve long before the Tournament of Kikai even existed!"
"Yeah, Tinyhammer, who was Tinyrocket at the time, chose to have him when ORANGE-RATCHET suggested him." Drake said in awe. "I think it was because Tiny was really rooting for him to be in Smash 4!"
Ashley frowned. "Well, seeing that we are all the way past Ultimate's end, it is safe THAT wish was dashed."
"WHY!? It is clear that Sakurai is biassed towards his baby, Kirby! I thought that he would have given Kirby one final fighter!" Drake complained.
"The same could be said for Viridi…" Ashley sighed. "Also, random question, but since when did Bandana Waddle Dee talk?"
"To be fair, in the games he was in around the first Battle of the Luminaries, he couldn't talk." Drake said. "However, in recent games, he had some dialogue."
"...So basically it is more or less like Reindog?" Ashley asked.
Drake's eyes lit up. "Oh, yeah! I thought for sure that Reindog couldn't talk and yet they gave him dialogue in the Rifts! What's up with that?"
Ashley merely shrugged. "In any case, we are getting sidetracked. At least from Bandana Waddle Dee."
"Right. We don't want to make the same mistake with Nakoruru." Drake nodded. "So as you could tell, Bandana Waddle Dee is a spearman and he does all of the stuff you would enter with a spear, he could thrust with it, he could throw it like a javelin, he could even use it as a propeller to move through the air."
"Also, if he teams up with somebody with elemental priorities, he could augment his spear with various elementals for differing effects." Ashley added. His eyes then lit up. "Speaking of elements, he could also use a parasol."
Drake did a double-take. "Wait, WHAT?"
"Yeah, for some reason, in Kirby Battle Royale, he wields a parasol instead of his trusty spear." Ashley said.
"Huh… At least he has more to his moveset." Drake mused.
"Indeed. He could use it to whack people, become Mary Poppins and even send out water projectiles." Ashley offered.
"Also, I think even his hand-to-hand combat is pretty good?" Drake asked. "He WAS Kirby's opponent in the Megaton Punch minigame in Kirby Super Star Ultra."
"And of course, he was the 2-player character in Kirby and the Forgotten Land." Ashley reminded.
"Again, Bandana Waddle Dee has tons of things to work with!" Drake frowned. "How come he has never been in Smash?"
"Beats me." Ashley shrugged. He then smiled. "But don't worry, I KNOW that he will make up for it here."
Drake gave a weak smile. "Yeah…"
ISABELLE
NODE: SUPER SMASH BROS/ANIMAL CROSSING
"Oh, speaking of Super Smash Bros…" Drake said before beaming. "ISABELLE!"
"Huh. First, Garnet, then Penny, and now Isabelle?" Ashley asked before rolling his eyes. "Gee, I wonder if we will see Bubbles or Ellis in the next couple of sections."
As if on cue, Ashley's phone rang. The wizard again rolled his eyes before reaching down and picking it up.
"Well?" Ashley asked.
"Ashley, I swear to God, Garnet, Penny and Isabelle having such close draws to each other is just a coincidence." Xero's voice insisted.
Ashley looked unimpressed. "Mm-hmm."
"Ashley, trust me, as much as I love Penny's alliance from the last tournament, I told myself that other than giving Penny an early draw, I would leave the randomizer to their fate." Xero insisted. "In fact, Bubbles doesn't come out until much, MUCH later!"
The purple-haired man raised an eyebrow. "And Ellis?"
"If she came back, she would be a Mystery Fighter and you know that unless it was under certain circumstances, I can't tell you who is a Mystery Fighter and who isn't." Xero scolded.
"Also true…" Ashley sighed. "Oh, before I go, what is Isabelle going to do for a Final Smash?"
There was a brief pause. "...I guess Isabelle just has to go back to her Final Smash from Smash."
"Really? That is disappointing." Drake frowned.
"Unfortunately, it can't be helped. Animal Crossing is not known for its combat." Xero sighed. "In any case, if you don't have anything else to judge me down."
"Nah, I am good for the moment." Ashley said before smirking. "But don't worry, just give me a few fighters before I will give you an angry phone call."
"Oi, oi…" Xero muttered before hanging up.
"I know it can't be helped." Drake said before frowning. "I am going to miss Buff Isabelle."
"...Especially since besides Astaroth manning the Sound Booth in the Megamix Tournament AND the Battle of the Luminaries, it is the only sign of Soul Calibur being near an UVR tournament after they blacklisted themselves." Ashley sighed. "Barry, Rinky, lighten things up before things get too depressing."
The camera then went to a frowning Barry. "Very well… Fortunately, Animal Crossing is something needed to lighten things up with its being a "life sim" game where you play as a human in a village of animals."
"You came into town and chose to go buy a house. HOWEVER, you came in with no money." Rinky said before blinking twice. "...Okay, even I know to bring money."
Barry chuckled nervously. "Fortunately, Tom Nook is willing to give you the house for the limited money you have as long as you go into debt. Don't worry, it is not as bad as it sounds. You just have to work for Tom Nook doing various jobs. In doing so, you learn more about the town and the villagers."
"Anddddd that is pretty much it. You just go around doing everyday things. Also, the villagers don't have much personality in the later games." Rinky frowned.
"Really? You are one of THOSE people!" Barry said, rolling his eyes.
"Well, they don't! Just compare them to the early games!" Rinky insisted.
Barry rolled his eyes. "Anyway, the series has spawned a lot of games, including an anime movie, a mobile spinoff and…"
Suddenly, he immediately froze up as if he was about to say something he shouldn't. Rinky noticed this and stayed silent.
Then, his eyes lit up. "Wait a minute… Wally isn't here! So we can talk about Animal Crossing: Amiibo Festival and he can't stop us!"
Barry blinked twice. "Um, okay, fair enough. But why?"
"I don't know." Rinky shrugged. "I just don't like being told what to do."
Barry rolled his eyes. "Anywayyyyy, what you see with Animal Crossing is what you get. That and Animal Crossing has been covered before. Back to you guys."
The camera then went to a nodding Ashley. "That's fine. A quick refresher is better than nothing."
"Anyway, as Isabelle is from a Slice-of-Life game, she uses every item to fight like pom-poms, a broom, a pot and various other items." Drake offered.
"However, she DOES have some special moves like using a fishing rod to reel enemies or items in, summon a swing with balloons to ride on and play a Lloid rocket trap." Ashley said. "She can even catch and pocket PROJECTILES!"
"And most importantly, she is buddies with Doom Slayer so she must have at least a few Rip and Tear techniques." Drake smirked.
Ashley rolled his eyes. "Of course you would focus on that."
"How can I not!?" Drake asked in disbelief.
Ashley let out a sigh. "So yeah between all of that and teaming up with Penny and by extension, Garnet again, she should do just as well as last time."
PENELOPE PUSSYCAT
NODE: LOONEY TUNES: WORLD OF MAYHEM
The two went quiet when they saw Penelope's picture. Ashley shifted his eyes towards Drake who had a blank face.
"Umm…" Ashley said.
"...Look." Drake said, finally.
Ashley sat up while Drake gave him a stern look.
"...I know that it is impossible to talk about Penelope without talking about who-know-who." Drake said. "However, if we are going to talk about him, can we at least do it when he finally shows up."
"Y-Yeah… That is a good idea." Ashley frowned. "Though I have to say at least once, I am stunned that Xero is willing to invite him to the tournament."
"Oh, don't you worry, I will personally call Xero when he comes out." Drake said, sternly.
Ashley winced. "Oof, you know it is bad when YOU'RE calling to complain instead of me."
"But yeah, where does this leave Penelope?" Drake mused. "Her entire schtick is getting away from this guy."
"Well, SOMEBODY at World of Mayhem must have liked her seeing that she had SIX variants." Ashley pointed out before reading from his tablet. "Penelope Bastet, Countess Penelope, Dread Pirate Penelope, Kitty Kelly, Penelope Couture and Tigress Penelope. Also, they are noticeably more combat-oriented compared to other variants."
"Yeah, it makes sense that she needs to find some way to defend herself." Drake said, shaking his head.
"Honestly, I could see her going either way." Ashley shrugged.
"Same. Let's see if she could make a day for herself without you-know-who." Drake said.
KORRA
NODE: NICKELODEON ALL-STARS/AVATAR: THE LEGEND OF KORRA
Ashley took out a list and scratched out a name as Drake rubbed his chin.
"Huh. Just like in the third Battle of the Luminaries, Korra showed up very early in comparison to Aang and Toph." Drake noted.
"Yeah, I noticed that too, which is interesting because I don't hear a lot of positive things about Korra in comparison to the original Avatar." Ashley frowned.
"To be fair, the original Avatar was a tough act to follow and it is clear that Legend of Korra still has that passion in it." Drake offered. "Let's see if Barry and Rinky could help us figure it out."
The camera then went to a nodding Barry. "Indeed. Leave it to us. But first, Rinky, I think you know how to start us off!"
"Of course!" Rinky grinned before stifling a cough. "Water. Earth. Fire. Air. Long ago, the Four Nations lived together in harmony. Then, everything changed when the Fire Nation attacked. Only the Avatar, master of all four elements, could stop them. But when the world needed him most, he vanished."
For the most part, Rinky was being serious, but then he grinned.
"A hundred years passed, and two childrens from the Water Tribe discovered the new Avatar, an Airbender named Aang, and although his Airbending skills are great, he has a lot to learn before he's ready to save anyone. But Katara believes Aang can save the world." Rinky said.
Barry nodded his head. "Avatar: The Last Airbender is a Nicktoon that ran from 2005-2008 on Nickelodeon created by Bryan Konietzko and Michael Dante DiMartino. It is actually the first series in an eponymous franchise which takes place in a world divided into four nations: the Water Tribes, the Earth Kingdom, the Fire Nation, and the Air Nomads."
"Each nation has developed a spiritual art form to manipulate, or in this case, bend, their namesake element, but only the Avatar, a great hero who is reincarnated into a different nation each generation, is capable of mastering all four elements." Rinky explained. "The Avatar's role is to serve as a peacekeeper and protector for all four nations, as well as bridging and balancing the physical and spiritual worlds."
"The current Avatar is a twelve-year-old boy named Aang who is actually chronically 112 and the titular Last Airbender." Barry explained. "He is set off on a journey to master the other three forms of bending, Water, Fire and Earth to save the world from the tyrannical Fire Lord Ozai and end a century-long war."
"He isn't alone! He is joined by Katara, waterbender of the group and team mom, Sokka, the non-bender of the group and strategist AND comic relief, Toph, who is best girl by the way, despite being around the same age as Aang AND blind, is arguably the most powerful Earthbender and have the attitude with it and Zuko, enemy turned ally and firebender."
"Also Suki." Barry piped up.
"Oh yeah, Suki's cool!" Rinky grinned. He then muttered underneath his breath. "Too bad that Nickelodeon doesn't think so…"
Barry nervously chuckled. "So despite being more… Seriously compared to other Nicktoons, Avatar was a big hit! It spawned three seasons which are known as Books and it was praised for its characters, dialogue, world-building and fights!"
"It is so popular that it is the only Nicktoons to make crossovers into SMITE and Brawlhalla on their own. Granted, the Nicktoons and Spongebob got into said games eventually but still." Rinky said before doing a double-take. "Also, isn't it weird that Spongebob never made it into SMITE and yet Jenny the Teenage Robot and POWDERED TOAST MAN did?"
"Yeah, you would think that Spongebob would get their own event just like in Brawlhalla." Barry noted. "But anyway, just like any good cartoon, it has gotten a sequel, the Legend of Korra."
"Basically, it takes places SEVENTY-FIVE years after the end of the Last Airbender. Aang and Zuko transformed the Fire Nation colonies into the United Republic of Nations, a society where benders and non-benders from all over the world could live and thrive together in peace and harmony and named the capital of this great land, 'Republic City'." Rinky explained.
"The Avatar this time around is a young, energetic woman named Korra, though instead of going after one main villain, Korra has to go after one central villain in each book." Barry pointed out. "She is joined by friendly goofball Earthbender, Bolin, his more serious brother and firebender, Mako and Asami, non-bender and rich girl."
"And eventual girlfriend of Asami. Don't get me wrong, I am not complaining, but I am still stunned that Korra X Asami won out!" Rinky said in awe.
"To be fair, if you know what happened with Korra X Bolin and especially Korra X Mako, you would know why?" Barry asked, rolling his eyes. He then paused. "Anddddd I may have revealed the reason why people don't like the Legend of Korra. At least one of the reasons."
Rinky shook his head. "While Avatar: The Last Airbender is arguably high fantasy with East Asian elements mixed in, The Legend of Korra is urban fantasy in an East Asian inspired setting, complete with mass media and politics."
"Fun fact: The series was originally going to be a twelve episode Mini-Series. However, Nickelodeon picked up an additional fourteen episodes during production. After the success of the first twelve episodes, another 26 episode season was announced." Rinky grinned. "These were later broken up into three seasons, fourteen episodes for the second and thirteen each for the third and fourth."
"Personally, while I admit that Legend of Korra doesn't live up to the Last Airbender, I think it still holds the heart of the original with the characters and stories." Barry offered. He then rolled his eyes. "...I could live with the romantic melodrama."
Rinky stuck out his tongue in disgust. "Back to you guys!"
The camera then went to a nodding Drake. "Thanks, guys!"
"Now before we'll cover Korra's moveset, I should remind everyone that bending works a little differently." Ashley said, holding up a finger. "Bender uses elements, no pun intended, as if they are martial artists, using stances and hand gestures. Just to let you know."
"So obviously, Korra is the Avatar so you better deal with it!" Drake smirked. "She has the power over four elements."
"Though being from the Southern Water Tribe, Korra specialises more in waterbending while airbending, in contrast to Aang, is her WEAKEST element." Ashley explained.
Drake blinked twice. "Really? She ends up fighting against Rashid just fine."
"To be fair, the weakest element doesn't mean worthless. She could still fight well with airbender, just not as well as other aeromancers." Ashley noted. He then rolled his eyes. "That and Rashid is looking for a proper show rather than who is stronger."
"Also, true." Drake noted. He then brightened up. "Also, don't think that her muscles are just so showy! Sure, she fights with bending but she gets up-close and personal if she wants to!"
"I WANT to talk about her cameo in SMITE too, however, seeing that Naga isn't coming out with her, I doubt that she would use said abilities seeing that Kaldr is the core of Skadi's fighting style." Ashley said.
"HOWEVER, there is a chance that Monika can teleport Naga in the arena alongside Korra if the latter gets lucky with the wheel." Drake offered.
Ashley rolled his eyes. "Why not? Craziest things have happened so far!"
"Oh, and the reason why we didn't talk about her Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl abilities is because that is just the tip of the iceberg of Korra's potential." Drake said.
"Well, we will have made it to our second break so we will switch back so Wally and Catherine could introduce the new fighters THERE." Ashley offered. "Stay tuned!"
