"What do you mean?" Jack asked down the phone with confusion "We always do Second Sunday."
Ianto looked up with surprise from his script, this clearly being Jack's father he was talking to as Jack and Franklin did a Sunday lunch every second week lately, something Inor encouraged as he spent the same time with his own Mamaw and Tyrone.
Jack slumped back in his chair, looking morosely at the phone "I don't know what to do now. Dad and me always do the club."
"Come with me. You know Saki will love to needle you." Ianto lied as he lifted the script again, then paused as Davie's voice whispered that this was not good. Not good at all. He thought Rose was up to something.
"Actually…." Ianto threw the script to one side and rose "Let's start a new Second Sunday Thing. You and me. Soon it will be You, Me and Dwayne right? Sunday lunch somewhere child friendly for special time. Your dad can come when he wants to but from here on out not the club. Maybe Chuckie Cheese or something. Like… fun. Silly."
Jack perked up as he considered "Kentucky Fried Chicken? Or... MacDonalds sometimes? You know, there is that new Playhouse Center opened that is full of ball puts and things for kids of all sizes, I did want to go there for a look."
"Well… see if Owen and Toshko are free. Owen will be a good mate to help look at things and see if our little fella will be safe" Ianto shrugged happy to have pleased Jack who was already dialling Owen for a date.
But Ianto was not reading the script. Oh no. Davie was muttering away as he went over reasons for this and they agreed that it was most likely that Rose had finally realized somehow that Daddy held the purse strings and was not about to embark on an epic Daddy Love Experience to make sure she is not forgotten in the will.
Silly cow.
Ianto went back to reading as he didn't really care anymore. He can leave her everything if he wants to but Ianto knew as much as we do, dear reader, that the moment Franklin sees the little monster… he will be lost in love.
And until Rose manages to squeeze out her own little monster…. Ianto will win be default.

.
Jack was searching their home for Ianto, already annoyed with the things being moved around as things looked out of place. Ianto did not usually move thing about like this.
"Where are you?" Jack called out, entering Ianto's office with a feeling of foreboding and to his horror Rose was in there. He knew he should not have let her in but now he was in the hot water… deep.
Ianto was seated at his desk with the laptop open, his hand reaching out to snap it closed as he rose to face her with a look Jack REALLY did not like. She was in his space. David's space. The awards around the room clearly not having either David's or Ianto's name on them… likewise the three bookcases full of first editions.
"Ifan Holmes… his murder mysteries are amazing… oh my god. Gypsy Rose? This was only released last month. Wow." She gushed then turned to another shelf "And… no. I do not believe this… you have the first edition of the three most amazingly profitable writers that Wales ever produced… this woman here… Janet Myfanwy writes such smutty bodice rippers that Gypsy Rose's romances seem tame in comparison."
Ianto took a deep breath as all three pseudonyms were spoken in the same space, something that always gave him the heebie-jeebies.
"You know, apparently Janet Myfanwy is due to release another one soon… wait. No way. The cat and dog… are they named after her?" she asked then started to laugh.
"Actually, she is named after them as I only created her two years ago" Ianto snidely blurted out, clearing his throat with a grimace before settling back to click the laptop as he looked at cover mock-ups for the new book release.
"So… you have three fake names" Jack said as he looked at the books. "I didn't know about her."
"Four if you count Ianto Jones… but that one is legally binding. The three I write under are legally copyrighted as mine, all roads lead to Rome and all that… no one has ever twigged mind. Why not photos on the jackets." Ianto pondered this "Maybe a photo of Myfanwy or Janet? That might confuse them."
"You're mad" Jack snorted "But I do like it."
Rose had stood still listening to them and she finally turned to stare at Ianto "You have money."
"Yep."
"I mean… you… you have wealth."
"Ianto is worth more than all us Harnesses put together, including Uncle Avery" Jack replied as he looked at the screen "Oh, I like that one love. The tige in the background… like a shout out."
Ianto looked at the drawing of the woman in the ripped dress, her blonde hair messy and her look almost deranged as a man stood with a gun, facing away from her like he was protecting her and in the darkness of the room's corner a tiger seemed coiled to spin in the direction the man was looking.
"Hmmmm, I do like that one too. OK. Decided. Tiger's Tail is now a go. Thank god. I hate naming my books, I hate choosing their skins even more" Ianto slumped back with a sigh.
"You're rich"
Ianto glanced at her "Rose, I did not marry for money. I love him. HIM. My knight in shining armour. I love the bones of him. HIM. Money never played a part in our love. I can outbuy you in anything… Jesus. I purchased this house on the off chance he might like it too… I have money for Africa. It was never money. Your mother spun that as she never got to know me, never gave me a chance. And neither did you. You listened to her, you hurt me and attacked me. For no reason. If anything… Jack is my Trophy Wife"
"Oh. Ta." Jack preened, looking pleased with himself.
Rose looked totally confused and Ianto felt a little sorry for her now "You see Rose. Your father's money means nothing to me, as Jack's money means nothing to me. I have more. So… I did not have to factor wealth into my decision to marry him. Your mother however… judges everything that way and has raised you to see that too. Look around. Those books the have made me a multi-millionaire… hell. With in the next eight to ten years I will be worth over half a Billion ya know. Shame… you are not only doing yourself out of a piece of that but any kids you have would have loved a rich Uncle Ianto."
She blinked slowly and then felt the air leave the room as she finally saw that her mother had done her wrong.
The biggest whale in the fucking sea was the one she had been harpooning with open malice.
Fuck.
