Last time: They arrived to the Jedi Temple.

Now: They are confronted with the past.

Chapter 30- The Vision

As they walked along they passed the knights quarters and they made a brief stop, but they continued along shortly after. Soon they rounded a corner into a corridor that had a set of large doors off to one side. Trevor stopped in front of the doors and turned to everyone with a wide smile.

"Beyond these doors is the Room of a Thousand Fountains," Trevor started. "This room was a place of peace and mediation for the Jedi. It is in fact filled with fountains of various sizes and shapes and designs. There is even a pool in here that was used for peaceful relaxation as well as an occasional day of fun for the younger Jedi. But this room was usually quiet and serene. However, a portion of the room was damaged and many of the fountains were destroyed. But we made sure to preserve the area that was still standing. You will all have plenty of time to roam around here before we move on to the last few areas which will include the Halls of healing, the Jedi Council chambers, the communication center, and the memorial chamber." He turned to the door and opened it. "After all of you."

The doors swung open to reveal a large chamber with many fountains that still functioned. The aroma filled their nostrils as the smell of fresh flowers and spring water as they all entered. And there was an aura of serenity as that just filled the air the second they entered the room. However, Trevor was right. Half of the room was destroyed. Part of the roof caved in and damaged the fountains to the west side of the room. The area was cordoned off to prevent tourists from wandering off into a dangerous situation. So the other tourists stuck to the designated paths as they all started to wander around inside.

As they all walked around, Sasha slowed by one of the tall fountains in the room. She watched as the water spewed from the top and ran down the sides into a small pond at the base. She remembered many Jedi Knights, padawans, and masters sitting under the fountains to meditate and perform one of the most basic Force moves, preventing the water from getting them wet. Sasha remembered doing that as a youngling and passing the first time she ever tried it, and it had been under this exact fountain.

The longer she stared at it though, suddenly something strange started happening that she never experienced before in the Jedi Temple. Sasha suddenly saw a version of herself move forward towards the elevated seat in the middle of the fountain pond. With a wave of her hand, this other version of herself moved the water aside as she moved to sit upon the stone. Easily she slipped into a criss cross position and centered herself. Then she let go of the water. The water fell, but not a drop landed on her. Using the Force, she was keeping the water from falling on her. Instead, it flowed around her as if she was a stone at the base of a waterfall. She then closed her eyes and found herself immediately slipping into meditation as she found peace and serenity in the Force in this spot as the others continued to look around the room.

Sasha looked to her right and left where Viran, Oppie, and Cien had stopped too. They were also staring at the fountain a little dumbfounded.

"Are you guys seeing this?" Sasha asked, freaking out a little.

"You mean seeing another you sitting under that fountain?" Viran responded in an equally spooked manner. "Yeah."

"Okay, making sure I'm not the only one going crazy," Sasha said with a nod as she looked back at herself.

"I…" Cien started, "I'm seeing it as well." She gulped, trying to think of what it would mean to be receiving a vision from a Jedi temple. Memories of her possession on Morgual ran through her mind.

"There you are," a voice Sasha did not recognize spoke, breaking the other version's meditation after a long period of silence. The observing Jedi and Cien looked over to where the voice came from.

Standing before the fountain was a figure who was tall with blonde hair and youthful features despite probably being nearly forty or possibly even older. Sasha and the others didn't recognize this Jedi, but he seemed to know the other Sasha before them. Moving the water aside, that Sasha got up from her criss-crossed position and moved away from the fountain. He was smiling at her in a friendly manner. She returned the smile.

"Did you have a nice meditation?" He asked her.

"Well I was in the middle of it, but what little I did have, it was nice," other Sasha said in a playful manner.

"Ha ha," He smirked at her. "But meditation time is over. We've got a mission."

"A mission?" Sasha asked, curiously. "Where are we off to now?"

"I'll explain as we head to the hangar," the man said.

Sasha looked back to the others, still spooked by what they were seeing. She then looked out past them, she could see the room of a thousand fountains alive with life. Jedi, young and old, were walking through the area, meditating under other fountains, or relaxing in various ways. There was no sign of destruction or ruin.

"Uh… guys. Am I dreaming or…," She trailed off as she gestured to the room around them in confusion.

"What the hell?" Viran jumped as he looked around in even more confusion. He then looked down for the stroller only to find it gone. "Okay, I am officially freaking out. What the kriff is happening right now?"

"This reminds me of our knight tests." Oppie said absently, also looking around at the temple. He shuddered, it looked exactly as he had remembered it. It only made the destruction they had just seen more palpable and terrible.

"Hey Zane, there you are," a smooth male voice called, pulling Sasha, Viran, Oppie, and Cien back into the scene before them.

Looking over to see who the owner of the voice was, they saw an attractive man with nicely cropped brown hair and stunning blue eyes. He had a smile that could make ice caps melt. They then noticed his lightsaber hanging from his belt, it was Viran's lightsaber. That threw Viran off guard. He looked down at his own belt to make sure his lightsaber was still there. It was, but this just confirmed that whatever they were all seeing was a vision as he realized that this was the Jedi who originally owned that lightsaber. And he remembered seeing his face when they stopped at that destroyed temple all those years ago.

Cien stared at the man, taking shallow breaths, remembering him from when she and Kopesh had fought him at the temple so many years ago, barely months after they had emerged from the grip of the blackhole. He had looked so much more worn and haggard then, instead of the almost youthful look he had now. She still remembered his screams from when Dracul had used the red lightning on him, and she shuddered.

And beside him was a young man around Sasha's age with short brown hair that was buzzed on the sides and longer on top that was ruffled. He was also quite attractive. That younger man made the other Sasha blush slightly, which made the actual Sasha raise a curious, if not confused, eyebrow.

"Hey Jac, Cayden," the man named Zane said. "It's good to see you guys. How was Chandrilla?"

"Boring, but we got the job done," the man named Jac said. "We were going to grab a bite from the mess hall and we were wondering if you two wanted to join us?"

"We can't," Zane said, saddened. "We've got to get to the hangar. We are off to Malastare for our mission."

"Ah, well have fun you two," Jac said with a chuckle. Zane also chuckled at that.

"Hey, Sasha," the one called Cayden said as he stood next to her.

"Hey," the other Sasha said, smiling at him. The blush deepened. Even the guy, Cayden, was blushing, but neither master seemed to notice.

Was this supposed to be what life would have been like if the order never fell? Was this Zane guy supposed to be Sasha's Master? Were they close with Jac and Cayden? And this was the case, where were Oppie and Viran in this vision? Did she even know them at all? Or was she even still in contact with them in the reality the vision was showing her? Those questions flew through her mind as the four of them looked between the three men and the other Sasha, who was looking at the gentlemen with a sense of familiarity and comfort that Sasha usually felt with her own family.

"Master Dunigan," a strangely familiar voice rang from behind them. That made the three Jedi freeze as they all recognized this voice.

"Oh boy, I should have mentioned we are running late," Zane said to her as he awkwardly turned to see who was approaching them.

Turning slowly, Sasha, Viran, and Oppie gasped at what they saw. Jedi Master Obi-Wan Kenobi was the one walking towards the scene before them. He looked older than they remembered as his hair was significantly greyer, but he still looked to be doing quite well.

"Hey Master Kenobi, we were just on our way," Zane said sheepishly.

"I'm sure you were," Master Kenobi said, amused. He then looked right at the other Sasha. "Hello again, Knight Monroe. It is good to see you again."

"Hello Master Kenobi," The other Sasha said, smiling at him.

He smiled at her. "Are you ready for your first mission as a knight?" He asked her.

"Yes, Master," the other Sasha said eagerly.

Oppie's gaze settled off to the side as he saw himself walking in with a young Tholothian at his side in her late teens. He stepped closer, trying to hear what they were saying.

"Katooni," he said as if gently chiding her. "You need to learn to be less impulsive. I know he's your friend, but we can't let piracy go unpunished."

"I know, Master." She, Katooni, said. His Padawan. Oppie, the real Oppie, looked between them, trying to picture this. He actually remembered seeing her as a Youngling around the temple. "I'm just following your example." She said with a smirk.

"I'm not sure what I've done to set an example of letting a pirate go free." The other Oppie grumbled bemusedly.

His Padawan snickered but said nothing as they came to a halt.

Master Redika, with his own, younger Padawan, walked over to meet them. "Hey Op, hi Kat." He said.

"Hello Master Redika, Padawan Toren." Oppie said, nodding to them.

"Master Sen, Toren." Katooni said with a smile.

"Op, you could learn a thing or two from your Padawan, she knows how to address me properly." He said with a laugh.

As Sasha was transfixed on her scene and Op turned to his, Viran heard his own voice from the other side of the room. Turning to see, he spotted himself walking and talking with four other Jedi around his age. He recognized them instantly as older versions of the younglings that had been with him and Sasha on their gathering journey. The ones who had died during 66. His heart thudded seeing them again, but older and more mature. The five of them were laughing and talking as they made their way through the hall.

"And that's why I will always go with an ARC-170 over a Jedi fighter," this Viran said, finishing whatever story he was telling.

"Yeah, if only the Council would let you have one," the young Rodian knight said.

"One day my friend. One of these days," Viran laughed. Actual Viran just stood there stunned at the youth and naivete that came from this version of himself.

Suddenly, from across the room, the peace was disturbed when a loud crash was heard. Everyone turned on their heels in the direction of the noise to find five Mandalorians pulling someone in behind them, and that someone was putting up quite the fight. The darkside oozed into the room, tainting the light for a moment. And Sasha gulped quietly to herself as she felt the presence in the back of her mind pulse at the scene that started to play out before them.

"What's going on?" Other Sasha and Actual Sasha asked simultaneously.

Master Kenobi sighed. "There were rumors that there was a small Sith Empire trying to build up in the Unknown Regions. We just got the call that five Mandalorians just caught this Sith Acolyte. Master Yoda wanted her brought in for questioning."

"Her?" Other Sasha asked as she glanced at him. He met her gaze and nodded.

Sasha, Viran, and Oppie slowly turned their heads to look at Cien who had yet to appear in this strange vision they were all having. They then looked back towards the commotion to see who the Temple guards were dragging. It was Cien and she looked pissed. She was in binders, and being escorted by five Mandalorians in full armor alongside the temple guards. Two of them were Kitsu and Illara, in the armor all four observers were familiar with. Anna, who Cien and Sasha recognized instantly from seeing her in Kyr's mind, and Viran and Oppie recognized from the paintings in Haven walked beside Acolyte Cien, her blaster rifle up and trained on their prisoner. It took them a moment to realize the fourth Mandalorian was Kyr, in dirtied silver beskar armor with a vertical orange stripe racing down the entire length of his body across his plates, slightly off center favoring his right side.

Cien recoiled, seeing herself, this dark side version of herself dragged in binders by her family.

Sasha tensed as the presence brought a nagging uneasiness into her mind and flooded her whole body sending an ice cold shiver down her spine. It felt exactly like the time Cien pulled her into the mindspace to show that Dracul had returned.

"Cyar'ika." Kyr, this version of Kyr said, addressing the fifth and final Mandalorian, who was in armor that matched Kyr's and only a little shorter than he was. Cien recoiled even further, having no idea who was under the armor, but realizing who she must be, she brought a hand up to cover her mouth as her eyes widened. "Did they transfer the bounty credits-" Kyr paused mid-sentence as he slowed, looking at Op.

His wife looked over at her husband, and then followed his gaze to look at Oppie in the vision and was brought up short for just a second, behind her Anna, Kitsu and Illara did the same. And the other version of Oppie noticed them looking at him and was taken aback, apparently wondering why the Mandalorians were all staring at him.

The other Cien saw the opportunity, and she took it. She used the Force to pull a saber off of the wife's belt, Cien's lightsaber, and as it flew into her hands in a split second she ignited it and drove the blood red blade into Kyr's wife's abdomen between her beskar plates.

"No!" Kyr shouted, rushing to his wife's side as she collapsed. The real Cien recoiled in shock at what she was seeing, and the real Oppie took a step forward out of reflex as if to help, as did his counterpart in the vision and his Padawan.

Sasha and Viran gasped in shock as the other version of Viran moved forward as well.

"Stand down," other Viran ordered as the other knights around him prepared to handle the Sith.

"Get the Temple Guards in here now!" Obi-Wan Kenobi ordered Jac and Cayden. The two Jedi ran from the room to get the guards.

Acolyte Cien looked around with a desperate, angry, almost feral gaze as she defied the Jedi around her. There was no hope of her walking away from this. She was in the middle of a temple filled with Jedi, in a room with several dozen Jedi who were igniting their sabers as they looked upon the scene, the temple guards and the Mandalorians who were bringing their blasters up, with their own deadly intent after what she had just done to one of their own. "I will not yield." She growled, and she slammed her open palm downward into the stones, unleashing a wave of Force energy that threw those near her away.

The real Cien stepped back in shock as she saw Kyr tumble away along with the other Mandalorians, and the temple guards with them.

The other Viran managed to keep his footing and regained his composure. He rushed forward in almost a hot-headed manner to deal with Cien.

"No, stop you idiot." The real Viran grumbled under his breath as he watched himself make a grave mistake without much thought.

The Acolyte just swept her arm down as she charged for the nearest exit, and sent out a wave of Force powerful enough to rip stones from the foot path towards the vision of Viran.

He skidded to a stop as the stones hit him, knocking him back. A few of them bruising him and cutting him up as he fell to the floor. The Rodian he had been talking to rushed to his side to check on him.

"Do not let her escape!" Kenobi's voice echoed as he also rushed to Viran's side.

Acolyte Cien swept past the four observers, towards the nearest doorway offering escape, the vision of Sasha was directly in her path. The vision stepped forward, saber active in her hands to stop the Acolyte.

"Sasha stop!" Zane called in panic.

But this version did not. Instead she calmly stood her ground against Cien.

"Stop this and turn yourself in, Sith," Sasha ordered.

Acolyte Cien just growled in response. She brought her saber down in a clash, trying to cleave her way past the Jedi. Sasha blocked with a grunt and pushed the acolyte back. The Acolyte kept her saber in a clash, pushing back against the Jedi's saber. She quickly threw her left hand off the hilt and sent a storm of lightning at Sasha. This Sasha was not expecting it and tried to bring her saber up in time to block the blast of lightning. But it managed to get her before she had a chance to deflect it.

Ear piercing screams exited from the young knight as she was consumed in lightning. Her Master, Zane, rushed forward and Force pushed the acolyte back. The vision of Sasha crumbled in a burnt heap to the floor. Actual Sasha staggered back in horror as she clapped a hand to her mouth trying to compose herself. The presence pulsed almost gleefully at that, causing Sasha's heart to thud painfully in her chest as she unconsciously took a step away from the scene and the real Cien beside her.

Cien stared on in horror at what this other version of herself had done. Seeing Sasha's burnt corpse laying at their feet, she looked on in shock as she also took a step back, recoiling from what she saw.

The Acolyte recovered, still trying to get away, and a blaster shot rang through the space, and she faltered, a look of shock in her eyes, and one last flash of utter hatred and anger before she collapsed to her knees, then fell to the ground in a limp heap. A smoking blaster hole in the center of her back, right where her heart was. Smoke and steam wafted off the barrel of Kyr's blaster in the humid air, some distance away as he regarded the Sith with hatred behind his buy'ce for what had happened to his wife.

The rest of vision moved in a blur as Sasha stared in shock and horror at Zane and Master Kenobi as they knelt over her visions dead form. She felt physically sick just watching it happen. Viran was shaken up as he looked between his counterpart who was being rushed to the healers and this version of his wife and sister now dead near each other. Oppie was looking at the same scene, his heart pounding seeing the two of them lying there.

Cien had her hands to her face as she walked backward slowly in shock and horror at what she had witnessed.

"What… the hell… was this?" Viran finally voiced after a long period of time had passed.

"I don't know," Sasha said, her voice shaking.

Oppie looked up at the other two. "Why show us this?" He asked quietly. Then he furrowed his brow, looking around, "where's Cien?" He asked, worriedly, realizing she was no longer with them.

"Kriff," Viran cursed as he looked around. "Cien!" He called out, hoping for a response. Sasha remained rigid as she didn't tear her gaze away from her dead form. The presence pulsed again, this time making her shudder and wince, but she said nothing as she stared ahead.

Sasha gasped awake as she found herself staring up at the lofty ceiling of the Room of a Thousand Fountains. Seconds ago she had been looking at a dead version of herself and now it looked like she had returned to reality as she looked around in a slight panic.

"Thank the Force you are awake," Trevor said, kneeling next to her. "You gave us all quite a scare. Even your little one was panicking." He said as he helped her sit.

"Lana?" Sasha looked over at the stroller that was just sitting next to an unconscious Viran and Oppie, who were also lying on the ground. Kait was next to the stroller, trying to comfort Lana while simultaneously trying to wake Oppie. "Viran!"

Sasha scrambled over to him and started to shake his shoulders gently. Viran awoke a moment later with a gasp. He looked around frantically for a moment before his gaze settled on Sasha. He sighed and put a hand to his eyes.

"Please tell me that you saw that crazy dream too?" He asked with a groan.

"Sadly, yes," Sasha admitted before she looked over to where Oppie was groggily waking up with a nearly frantic Kait at his side, and some distance away in the room where Kyr was kneeling next to Cien in the same nearly panicking state, and she was still unconscious.

Viran sat up and looked at the others too. He frowned in worry.

"Mama, Dada," Lana squeaked in panic.

Their heads shot around and they looked at Lana.

"We are alright, baby," Sasha soothed her as she caressed her daughter's cheek.

"Sorry we scared you kiddo," Viran said, doing the same. He then looked to Sasha. "Go check on them. I'll calm her down."

Sasha nodded and got to her feet. She went to Oppie first since he was closer.

"Are you okay? What happened?" Kait asked with wide eyes as Oppie sat up.

"I…" Oppie started, "I'm not sure, the temple showed us something." He said.

"What?" Kait asked, "what did it show you?"

"Some alternate version of us, what things might have been like if Order 66 hadn't happened, I think." Oppie replied.

"I think that's exactly what was, but why did it show us that?" Sasha asked, still shaken.

"I don't know." Oppie said, looking over at Cien across the room. "Why didn't she come awake with us?" He asked worriedly, getting to his feet.

"I'm not sure. She did… disappear in there last I remember," Sasha said timidly as she looked to Cien's resting form.

Oppie went over, Kait following at his side.

"What happened?" Kyr asked, panicked as they got close enough.

"A vision, the temple gave us a vision." Oppie replied, "she didn't wake up yet?" He asked, concern edging his voice as he knelt next to where Kyr was holding Cien in his arms.

"No." Kyr said, some fear edging into his voice.

Sasha stood beside Kait, looking down at Cien. She gulped quietly to herself as she tried to push the vision away and the feeling from the shadow-like presence, which was still very present in her being at the moment. Like it was looming right next to Cien. "Let me see if I can help her," she offered.

"She just collapsed next to me, I barely caught her in time before she fell to the stones." Kyr said quietly.

"She'll be okay," Sasha assured Kyr as best she could as she knelt down on the other side of Cien. She hesitantly reached up and placed a hand on Cien's forehead. Closing her eyes, Sasha tried to reach for Cien in the Force.

Viran, Lana, and Trevor had come over by this point and were watching from the side in worry. It was a good thing the rest of the tour was distracted elsewhere in the room, though many of the other guests were looking on in concern.

After a moment, Sasha opened her eyes and sighed. "She is still trapped in a vision. I don't know when she will wake," she informed them solemnly as she retracted her hand.
