Short but this was a really fun chapter.

On Olympus, in the Council Chamber

Hera could not express, fully, her pride in Aaron. The boy, in a mere year and change, had become a powerful force of magic. Nothing divine, but still not to be trifled with for mortals, even by Demigod standards he was to be feared. His healing skills were also highly developed, Chiron was right to call him a great student. The boy was proving to be her best investment, and a fantastic son. Her best representative in eons.

"I wonder what he will do next?" Hera muttered, looking into Hestia's Hearth, scrying their shared son.

Hestia smiled at her, warm as her hearth. "Who knows, he is something else, our son."

The rumbling of Zeus startled them out of their revelry. "He is watching over the Bastard Poseidon has allowed to be born against our oath! One likely to have stolen my MASTERBOLT!"

Both sisters turned, glaring evenly at the idiot they called kin. "You had two bastards out of oath, do not be cruel to Percy. I doubt he stole the Bolt, he literally just discovered our world. My son is now educating him on it. You felt his aura magnify from discovery. Even we gods cannot tamper and alter that."

Zeus scowled, hateful as always. "Perhaps, but if he openly claims the boy... war will be had. I still believe Poseidon has stolen my Bolt!"

They both rolled their eyes, not at all affected by his temper. Hestia, in a rare act of defiance, turned her full maternal glare at him. " Do you think our people would survive this war you propose?" Zeus startled at this, but she was not done. "We would be torn asunder, never to recover. The world would never allow it, Gaia herself would reject our war and we would be slain. Do not be a fool, brother, it suits no one."

Turning back to the flames of her hearth, she offered a smile to her son's image. "I think he may have found his path as a protector and tutor."

"Only time will tell, Sister." Hera muttered, both entirely ignoring the idiot king that ruled them.

Chiron was pleased watching Aaron spar with Percy in the Gym at Yancy Academy using a bit of help from Iris, using wooden sticks to slash at each other. To his pleasure, Percy was actually a fair combatant. He has great reflexes and better stamina. Aaron, who had moderate skill with a blade, managed to explain each move to the boy with precision, correcting his movements.

"Never overextend, it always bites you."

"Footwork, it's vital Percy!"

"I would avoid dramatic moves, you need to save every ounce of stamina, divine blood or not."

Percy soaked it in, showing that he was actually incredibly bright, just as Chiron knew he was. He made each adjustment perfectly, and in a mere two hours showcased incredible improvement.

The boy seemed so enthused by this he didn't even complain when Aaron disarmed him with a crack to the wrist.

Still, Aaron cringed at the already bruised wrist. "Sorry, I'll heal that." He put a hand on there, and muttered a spell taught to him by Chiron. "Leni et restituet. Leni et restituet. Leni et restituet." A soft purple light exuded from the boy's hand, sinking into Percy's wrist, soothing and restoring all damage it caused.

Percy's face was filled with awe at the sight. "Amazing... how'd you do that?"

"I'm a witch, well trained in magic. My first adoptive mother gave me a spell book, and I started from there. It's been a bit over a year, I've learned a lot. Most demigods never extend past their divine powers, but I have to do more always just to keep up. It is my fate, sadly, but one I have control over."

Percy nodded, eyes wide. "Grover... Grover said my mom married Smelly Gabe, to mask my scent. Can you help with that, like more that just the spell bag? So we can get rid of him?"

"Sure, I can do that. Some sigils on your walls, carry around a spell bag. But, never forget, you NEED training. Especially you, you're exceedingly powerful Percy. I cannot stress that enough, you really need the help... Now, we'll spar for another few minutes, but then we have to move onto Latin. My spells are in Latin, it will be a great refresher."

And like that, Chiron had a feeling Percy would survive after all... and that filled him with unrivaled joy.
