Sometime later

Lucia let out a groan of pain and tried to get up but was stopped when she felt a hand on her chest then heard someone say in a gentle tone, "Please, lay down you got hit pretty hard."

Lucia did what was asked of her and then replied with a pained tone, "What hit me."

The voice was quiet for a while before then responding, "You got hit by one of the twins' prank attempts on the headmistress, but as far as my check-up can tell you just need some bed rest, a hot meal and you'll be all good to go."

Lucia replies with a grateful, "Thanks." Then falls asleep.

Standing over Lucia is a figure in a black, feathery, long-sleeve dress with a pouch on the right hip, wings that are a pure black color sprouting from their back, with pale skin, and long, black, straight hair, and short, dark and very sharp claws. The figure and Lucia are in a medical room with a large medicine cabinet, a countertop desk with additional cabinet space, a chair, three beds, and lit with spheres of light. The door then opens and entering the room is Eda who asks, "How is our newest student, Lilith."

Lilith replies with a confident tone, "Doing well, she awoke not long ago and tried to get up but I stopped her. Also (holds up a file) while she was out, I got her medical records made. Just got to submit them to the main academy and the ministry of healing."

Eda hearing that gives a smile and says with a pleased tone, "Good, I'm so glad I have you to do the stuff that I can't stand. (Crosses arms over chest) Just because I'm the headmistress of our branch doesn't mean I like paperwork."

Lilith hearing this also smiles, goes over to the chair and taking the seat replies with an elbow on the desk holding up her head and pleased tone, "I can believe that. You never were the type to do none essential paperwork."

Eda and Lilith both give a quiet laugh; before they both look to Lucia and Lilith asks, "Do you think she will be the one to end this winter."

Eda looking at Lucia replies with only a serious tone, "You know I don't put any faith in any prophecy no matter how vague or specific it is. (Looks to Lilith) For now, just focus on getting her up and ready for class as soon as possible." Eda then leaves closing the door behind her.

Lilith not looking away from Lucia says, "I'm the same sister, but we all yearn to feel warm air beyond our homes and settlements." Lilith then gets up and leaves taking Lucia's medical records with her to be submitted.

Some more time passes

The door to the medical room opens and entering there is a girl who appears to be barely in her teens if their still flat chest had anything to say, she had pale skin, pointed, wolf-like ears atop her head, amber eyes, brown hair tied into a short ponytail, and a wolf-like tail just above her petite butt. She is also dressed in the light blue robes of a priestess with a coif head cover, a dark blue satchel, and a multi-purpose, white scarf.

The girl goes over to Lucia and seeing her furrows her brows and says in a surprised tone, "Huh, so the twins weren't full of it for once. (sigh) I guess they had to tell the truth about something eventually." The girl then walked over to the chair after taking a seat pulls a book with a simplified half-sun on the cover from her satchel and started to read.

After some time Lucia stirs and the wolf ears on the girl alert her marking her passage closes the book and looks to Lucia patiently. When Lucia sits up she looks around the room seeing that it's somewhat reminiscent of the infirmary of her old school. Lucia then sees the girl and asks, "Where am I and who are you."

The girl expecting that replies, "You're in the infirmary of the Owl Academy for gifted mages. As for who I am; (sits straighter and adopts a noble-like pride in tone) I'm Amity Lux'ari Blight the assigned priestess for this academy."

Lucia hearing that asks, "Is the church part of the government here."

Amity deflates and says with disappointment, "Yes and no. (Lucia raises an eyebrow) The church is part of the government yes; however, it has to share that power with the nobility, the arcane academies, and the conclaves."

Lucia asks in a mix of confusion and interest, "O.K. so that the national or local government."

Amity crossing her arms over her chest and letting out a sigh replies, "Both; the old government fell due to it failing to quickly adapt to the situation. This caused numerous riots to break out and other forms of lawlessness to occur en mass. This combined with the uprisings caused the collapse of the old empire; of which only scant records survived all the fires that burned the majority of the archives from that time."

Lucia adopting a sheepish frown says, "Oh, ya; that kinda sucks losing all that information it must have destroyed some majorly important documents."

Amity shaking her head replies, "Not really, the throne had sat empty for twenty years due to the heir-apparent being only nineteen and of what could be pieced together they had to be twenty-one, married, and have an heir in the works before they could take the throne."

Lucia starts to stretch which gave Amity a glimpse at a very well-toned stomach then moves to stand, but ended up falling to the floor. Lucia then says, "Ow, (then feels legs shooting pins followed by cramps) mother fucking, shit (screams of pain and suffering)."

Amity gets up and going over to Lucia then says, "I'll help you. However, I'll have to remove your pants is that fine."

Lucia still in pain replies yelling, "Yes, just make this stop (more screams of pain and suffering).

With that said Amity reaches into her bag and pulls out an ointment container and a knife. Amity taking the knife manages to cut Lucia's pants off without cutting Lucia then taking the knife says to Lucia, "Bite down on the handle your screaming is not helping." Before Lucia could reply Amity shoves the handle sideways into Lucia's mouth which muffles the screaming. Amity then takes a glob of the ointment and using a spell to restrain Lucia's legs; then starts rubbing the ointment on her legs. This causes Lucia to start to just scream in pain that even when muffled it hurts Amity's ears.

When Amity finishes Lucia is out cold from the pain. Amity seeing this shakes her head and says, "The twins have a lot of apologizing to do." Amity then gets Lucia back on the bed and looking down sees that Lucia is not wearing any underwear. Amity seeing this takes on a reddish hue and with an embarrassed face covers Lucia with the blanket at the foot of the bed and whispers while covering her mouth, "Great she has no underwear; well, I should have some extra cloth in my dorm that I can fashion into some underwear and a skirt for her till I can get her some proper attire if she were to go outside." Amity then as quickly as she could left the infirmary heading to her academy residence.

Two hours pass

The infirmary door opens and entering is Eda; who walks over to Lucia to see how she is. When Eda sees that Lucia is under the beds covers, she pulls a glass lens that's encircled by a metal frame that's etched with several arcane runes with a 2-karat amber resembling a cat's eye embedded in the center of a glass lens. Eda places the lens over her left eye and closes the right then utters a single word, "revelare." After uttering that word Eda looks Lucia over and finds that everything is fine until she reaches her crouch and sees that she has no pants on. Upon seeing that Eda quickly cancels the spell and looking around finds to the side of the bed that Lucias' pants had been cut from their sides. Eda going over to the cut pants sees no signs of a struggle that would indicate it was forced but she'd have to ask Lucia when she awoke. Eda walks over to the chair and taking it sits down and waits for Lucia to awaken.

Forty-five minutes later

Lucia takes a deep breath before then letting out a groan and then stretching. At which point she feels her legs cramp up, but not as before. This causes Lucia to shout, "fuck, cramps; why fucking cramps."

Eda seeing and hearing Lucia gets up from her seat and opening the cabinet above the desk; takes a red, opaque bottle. Closing the cabinet then goes over to Lucia and holds it out and says, "Drink this, it'll help."

Lucia takes the bottle and drinks it and shortly after drinking it her legs stop cramping. Lucia feeling relief from her legs not cramping anymore asks, "What was it that I just drank."

Eda replies in a flat tone, "It was a mix of a grade-two healing potion, health elixir, and vitality potion; and don't worry about the cost nearly everything in my academy is made in-house."

Lucia relived asks, "So, what is the plan from here."

Eda looking Lucia in her eyes replies with her arms crossed and a mildly displeased tone, "You'll be enrolled in my branch of the academy. However, you'll be getting a crash course on magic and its associated studies and crafts; and that's before the amount of work you'll need to do to pay for your tuition."

Lucia hearing that cautiously asks, "How much is the tuition."

Eda waving her left hand replies uncaringly, "Don't worry about it. I'll cover most of it with a scholarship from my own account. Just get caught up, work hard and it'll be fine. (looks to the blanket covering Lucia below her waist) Right now you need some pants."

Then the door opened and entering the infirmary was Amity. Who was carrying a roll of white cloth and a sewing kit. Amity upon entering the infirmary sees Eda was present with Lucia on the bed and awake. Before Amity could speak Eda said, "Amity, I'm glad you're here with the needed materials. Now I need you to make Lucia the appropriate uniform as mandated by the main academy; but for now, just make the lower half of it, the upper half can be done later."

Amity having grown used to the excentric headmistress replies, "Understood, lady Eda."

Eda nods then says to Lucia, "You will need a uniform during classes, but outside of your studies you have free-reign on what you wear." Eda then walks to the door and exits the infirmary and closes the door.

Amity going over to Lucia asks, "How are your legs feeling."

Lucia replies slightly miffed at Amity, "Better since Eda gave me a potion cocktail that got the cramping to stop, unlike that ointment of yours."

Amity hearing that rubbed the back of her neck while saying, "Ya, that was meant to be a quick fix for open wounds but since I don't know what is stocked here. I just used what I knew would work with what I had on hand."

Lucia hearing that replies no longer miffed, "Well, I'm just glad the cramping stopped (switches to a questioning tone) and do I need to stand so you can get my hip and waist measurements."

Amity expecting that replies with a blush going over her nose and cheeks with her ears starting to go up and down, "Yes, I'm afraid so, but it's just long enough to get sized, stitched, and applying the buttons. (in a nervous tone) So don't worry."

Lucia lets out a nod and gets out of bed as Amity readies a needle and thread, cloth shears, and three buttons. Once Amity gets everything, she'll need ready and looking to Lucia. Amity takes a breath and gets to work on the skirt for Lucia. As Amity works Lucia then sees that Amity is making her a skirt and asks in a displeased tone, "A skirt, really? Is it really going to be part of the academy uniform?"

Amity not taking her eyes away from her work on the sides replies, "Yes, a skirt; and it's just for the ladies who are just starting their arcane studies."

Lucia lets out a groan and asks with displeasure, "At what point will I not have to wear a skirt during my studies."

Amity falls silent for a bit then replies in a slightly tired tone, "When you're awarded your third arcane badge; (Lucia goes to ask another question but is cut off by Amity) and before you ask no I don't know when or how you'll get it."

Lucia falls silent as Amity finishes the last of the stitching for the buttons that were placed on the left side with one on the waist and the other two trailing down from the upper hip. Amity looking over her work says, "Not bad now you just need a pair of underwear and you'll be all set."

Lucia not wanting to spend anymore time on clothes says irritatedly, "I appreciate the thought but I'd like to get settled in and get the uniform I'll be wearing during classes."

Amity went to speak but was stopped when Lilith returned with a folder. Lucia and Amity seeing Lilith go to address her but are stopped by Lilith looking at both of them. Lilith looking to Amity and says with authority, "Amity, I see that you got Lucia decent so you are dismissed; (looks to Lucia) Lucia I need to talk to you in my office so please follow me."

Amity did as Lilith said and left Lucia with Lilith who made their way to her office. As Lucia followed Lilith she found that the Owl Academy was quite small with how short the walk from the infirmary to Lilith's office was since it was right down the hallway. When Lilith opened the door and both entered Lucia saw that it was like a multifaceted apartment; to the left was a room divider that appeared to have further dividers within it to give the idea of different subsequent rooms, to the right was a desk with a tablet and keyboard that were reminiscent of a computer and chairs. Lilith sat behind the desk and then gestured to either of the chairs in front of the desk.

Lucia took a seat in one of the chairs and then spoke, "Now, Lucia since you're going to be enrolled there are some things that we need to cover."

Lucia nodded then said, "Ya, like do need my education record, do I need to buy certain things and what's the uniform all like."

Lilith hearing that lets a brief smile appear before continuing, "Well, since you're a unique and special case. The heads of the academy decided to have you do an education exam that's split into several segments for each class, then you need to demonstrate you can case simple cantrips, and finally, you'll be given a practical exam that being one of your choice to show what you can do with magic. As for things you'll need (leans back and takes a deep breath before exhaling then looking Lucia in her eyes) since the headmistress is providing you with a scholarship you will be granted if limited access to the academy store to buy what you may need, but keep in mind that's only if you pass your exam. As for the uniform since you are a young woman you'll have to wear an academy-provided: shin-length skirt, blouse, jacket, tie, and shoes. Outside of class, you're free to wear whatever you'd like."

Lucia listening to all that Lilith said smiled at the fact that she only had to do an education test, show she could do magic, pass a test of her choice, and wear such a basic uniform. Lucia then asked some very important questions, "So when is this exam, and where am I sleeping."

Lilith's slight smile dropped back into a neutral expression before replying, "The exam be performed in two weeks; that's fourteen days. (Lucia went to ask something but was cut off by Lilith) it's because there's a great blizzard coming and the city has to prepare for when the storm arrives and last the week-long storm. As for lodging, you'll be provided with a dorm that is empty since the majority of students rather transit to the academy. Also, since we don't know anything about your species' magical connection you'll be given private lessons till your exam date. None of this is negotiable, understand."

Lucia hearing that just nodded before Lilith then stood up and said, "Good, now since you're not officially a student for the time being you're exempt from the uniform, but should you pass and be accepted you will be required to wear the uniform. Now if you'll follow me I'll guide you to your dorm."

Lucia got off the chair and followed Lilith to where her dorm would be. They went down the hall, walked down a flight of stairs, and made a right, passed another flight of stairs before then stopping right in front of a door. Lilith took hold of the door handle and said in a mildly embarrassed tone, "Now since we haven't used the dorms for students they've been retroactively used as personal labs for students, storage areas, or just rest places. This one is the only one that hasn't been retroactively used as anything so do enjoy and you will be provided a key should you pass your exam."

Lilith opened the door then left heading back to presumably her office. Lucia entering the dorm saw that it was decently sized with: a bed in the far right corner that was well made, a chest at the foot of the bed, a nightstand next to the head of the bed, a desk to the far left with a chair pushed in, an open door that led to a bathroom, next to the doorway of the dorm was a wardrobe and on the far wall between the desk and bed was a large stained glass window that resembled a slit eye with the sclera colored in a pattern of purple and red, then the iris a solid, frosted white, finally the pupil was just clear glass. Lucia taking all of this in closed the door then walked over to the window and saw that it was getting darker outside. Lucia takes hold of her shirt and takes it off showing that she's very well-toned with a sports bra on that does a decent job of hiding her actual bust size, before then taking off the skirt Amity made showing that she had nothing on underneath it.

Lucia letting out a yawn climbs into the bed and falls asleep. The camera then pans out to the front of the academy which shows a house with a tower that seems attached to the structure before the window seemingly blinks.

This is before the camera pans out even further showing a figure in a dark, hooded, cloak looking into a crystalline orb and saying in a dry, aged, raspy voice with a dark, sinister tone, "So a beacon of light has appeared (wheeze). This realm belongs to me just as that human promised. (wheeze) That beacon (places a skeletal hand on the crystalline orb) will (begins to close hand) be (cracks begin to appear around the crystalline orb from the skeletal hand) snuffed (the crystalline orb shatters bathing the area in only darkness). After all (tone shifts to pure malice) the darkness came long before the light." The figure begins to laugh menacingly before the screen cuts to black and with it, the laughter echoes for a bit before finally ending.
