The next morning Lucia is seen using her right arm to support her pillow, while her left leg is hanging off her bed, hair all frizzled around her, and drooling onto her pillow. Then all the lights in Lucias dorm ignite; lighting up her dorm. This causes Lucia to let out a groan saying, "Eight more minutes." Before then using her covers to shield her eyes. Then as if just to spite her request; Lucia feels something hit her face and she brushes it way before returning to sleep. Then as if it sight to punish her she felt something her butt hard. This got her to shoot awake and let out a scream of pain before it then switched to anger and she started looking for the offender.

Lucia then heard a throat clear and looking to down to the source she saw a small creature covers in dark fur with a grey belly and tail tip, armored head that resembled a skull with a crack above the left eye, straight horns coming from the back of its head with one having been damaged then healed if the slight color difference was anything to go by, the sclera was a light blue, while the iris was black, and the pupil was a deep blue, and short claws at the ends of its armored fingers and toes. The creature then said, "Alright, now that you're up get dressed and get to the kitchen to eat your rations." The creature then turned and walked out of the dorm.

Its when the creature turned to corner did Lucia snap out of it and got dressed even putting on the skirt that Amity made. Lucia not knowing where the kitchen was started looking around. The majority of the doors were locked but she did find the bathrooms that seemed to double as locker rooms.

Eventually Lucia made her way downstairs and when she did she saw a room that appeared like a living room. She looked around and saw Amity standing next to an open doorway. Amity seeing upon noticing Lucia then went over to Lucia and said in a displeased tone, "Finally, you're here Lilith won't let anyone take their rations till everyone is present."

Lucia confused replied questioningly, "Is that a policy for the academy or is it a personal thing."

Amity foreseeing that says, "It's kinda complicated. A few storms ago someone hoarded a few to many rations and it caused a near famine and after an investigation it was found to be a headmaster who got greedy and thought they deserved a little extra. So, he was put on public trail and was banished from the city as punishment."

Lucia hearing that asks in a curious tone, "O.K. but they did get to another city, right."

Amity shook her head with a somber expression and answered in a just as somber tone, "No, to be banished is to be thrown out with nothing but rags as clothes, a worn cloak and what you can carry in a small pouch. It's essentially a prolonged death sentence with few if any reaching another city let alone an outpost or colony."

Lucia hearing that was about to ask something when Lilith appeared and said in a motherly tone, "Alight, now that everyone is here. Here are the days rations and it's the good variant."

Lucia looking to where Lilith was and sees a cart with four stacks with each containing three brick-like, cloth boxes. Amity goes over and picks up a stack as says, "Thank you, Lilith. (turns to Lucia) We'll talk more later." Amity goes to a short table, sits on he ground and starts to pray.

Before Lucia can ask anything, she feels a hand on her shoulder and sees Lilith who says, "grab your rations and we'll eat in the lecture hall." Lucia pushing Amity praying aside for the time being grabs the last stack of rations and follows Lilith to the lecture hall.

Upon reaching the lecture hall and entering it appeared to be like what would be expected it had: four long, tiered desks with chairs under the desks at regular intervals, a lector's desk with chair and a chalkboard. Though the room wasn't large; it could hold about twenty-one people including the lector. Lilith gestured for Lucia to take a seat before taking a seat behind the lector's desk. Lucia takes a seat on the ground level and opening one of the boxes sees: a biscuit, two slams of meat that were each half inch thick, and two slabs of shredded fruits and vegetables that were an inch in a half thick. Lucia taking the biscuit bit into it and found it a bit bland, then the meat and found it tasted mildly of pork, finally the shredded fruit and vegetables which tasted like a strange mix of apple, oranges, potatoes, and carrots. Lucia not liking the taste but not wanting to waste the food finished it.

After eating Lucia said in a mildly displeased tone to Lilith, "And you said that this was a good variant."

Lilith taking her time on her food replies in a pleased tone, "Yes, these cost a fairly large amount for a school such as this."

Lucia catching that asks in a curious tone, "So, does that mean there are ones even better."

Lilith still not looking away from her food replies with a mixed tone of joy and disgust, "Yes, there are rations that are essentially a three-course meal made with the best ingredients; but there are ones that are basically disgusting gruel made from ground up rodents, boiled grain and scrap peelings from better rations."

Lucia hearing the vast disparity between what she just had said with sheepish shame, "I'll rescind my statement."

Lilith let out a chuckle before saying, "That's alright you're not the first who've did that after hearing about what goes into lower quality rations."

Lucia then pulls out her phone and looks over some stuff while Lilith finishes eating her food. After some time, Lilith set her ration box aside and getting up picks up a stick of chalk from the chalkboard and starts writing on it. After writing on the chalkboard Lilith looks to Lucia who's on her phone. Lilith with a displeased expression and using a spell pulls the phone from Lucia with her shouting, "Hey." Lilith then has her spell place the device on the lector's desk then she says, "Now with the distraction gone lets go over your lesson plan."

Lucia lets out a shallow groan but nods and replies with interest, "Alright, so what can I learn."

Lilith expecting that reply explains with pleasure, "Well, first we need to find which of the more common types you can use before we then we can move on to the more specialized studies."

Lucia then asks in a curious tone, "And the common types are."
