Lincoln had become a much more effective hero than the fake one ever could be
he protected the village out of the goodness of his heart and asked for nothing in return
he also helped out with tasks and chores around town
He and Lily lived with vanilla and cream due to Lincoln not really having the time to build his own house
now did he miss being a human? Of course he did but the benefits of being a machine were hard to ignore
sometimes he fears that he's agreeing with Lisa's thought process but he realized that they had different ideals of this process
Lisa saw it as the next step in human evolution while Lincoln saw it as a way to further human evolution
Lisa thought that this should suddenly become the human race something that everyone must do no matter what, while Lincoln thinks it should be a gradual process maybe a few robotic limbs added to people over the next hundred years and for it to be optional. a free choice for everyone to make
but he also thinks what happened to lily would also be a suitable alternative being able to do things that should not be possible at least by his old world standards
imagine his surprise when he saw Lily spinning her tails like a helicopter and cream flapping her ears like wings
he never had an error that quickly ever
(granted he never had an error before that but still)
"hey Mr.Lincoln!" Cream said snapping Lincoln out of his thoughts
"yes cream?" Lincoln asked
"me and Lily are going into the forest!" Cream said
"don't get hurt." Lincoln said "and if you do tell me who did it."
"so you can fight them?" Cream asked
"correct." Lincoln said
"okay! Bye bye!" Cream said as she and Lily left
Lincoln stood still for a moment before saying
"I should build a house." Lincoln said to himself
with Lily
Lily and cream walked through the forest picking berries until stumbling across a cave
"I heard there's a monster who lives in the cave." Cream said as cheese hid in her bag "we should leave."
however, Lily was not so concerned with that she was strong just like her brother
so she entered
"mr. Lincoln is going to be super mad at me." Cream said to herself
Lily walked through the cave before stumbling across a black quilled hedgehog with black highlights
it seemed like he was...crying?
"you okay?" Lily asked
almost immediately the hedgehog got up and threw an energy spear at her and got into a fighting stance
luckily for Lily the phantom ruby put a barrier up blocking the spear
(well that was fucking rude.) a voice said in the back of her head but lily decided to ignore it for now
"who are you?" The hedgehog asked
"Lily!" Lily said "why you sad?"
the hedgehog decided to humour the fox
"I miss a friend of mine." The hedgehog said
"Lily fix!" Lily said
"child I don't think you can-" the hedgehog said before cutting himself off when the phantom ruby began to glow lighting up the cave
then in flash of light something was form and then there was a thud
"my head hurts." a female voice said "why do I have paws?"
"Maria?" The hedgehog asked
"shadow? Is that you?" "Maria" asked her eyes adjusting to the darkness of the cave
she was wearing the same blue dress as the day she died (minus a bullet wound of course) although she was a bit different...
"why are you a cat?" Shadow asked bluntly
"why are you living in cave acting like an emo person?" Maria asked just as bluntly
without hesitation shadow hugged her
"it's definitely you." Shadow said "although I have destroyed humanity yet like I promised you."
a beat passed
"WHAT?!?" Maria yelled clearly confused
one big sister lecture later
"and you know I wouldn't ask that! whoever messed with your memories is going to pay!" Maria yelled her anger causing the ground under her to freeze solid
"woah." Lily said
"oh that's new." Maria said looking at the ground before noticing Lily "shadow did you make me an aunt?"
Shadow choked on air at that
"no." lily said "he was sad. So I help!"
"how?!" Maria asked
"I don't fucking know." Shadow said recovering from chocking on air
without hesitation Maria karate chopped his forehead
"no swearing." Maria said
"it's been 50 years though!" Shadow argued
"I don't care you're still my little brother no matter how emo you get." Maria said
"what's fuck?" Lily asked tilting her head
meanwhile
Lincoln felt a disturbance but he wasn't sure what it was
back with Lily
"you taught the small child a curse word." Maria said
"better for them to learn now." Shadow said
"Lily? Are you okay in there!?" Cream yelled from outside of the cave
"oh it looks like someone is looking for you." Maria said "you better get going."
"come!" Lily said gesturing for the two of them to come with her
"you want us to come with?" Maria asked
Lily nodded
"shadow how about you?" Maria asked
"no i just found the perfect rock to sleep on." Shadow said
"shadow you know how crazy you sound right?" Maria asked while she was about walk out of the cave
shadow grumbled before grabbing what little things he had and followed her
when they stepped out cream was shocked
"woah! Who are you?" Cream asked
"I'm Maria robotnik and this is shadow." Maria said
"wait then where's the monster?" Cream asked
Maria giggled
"it seems you've built up a reputation here?" Maria said to shadow
shadow scoffed at this
"come!" Lily said before taking Maria's hand and leading her to the village with shadow and cream following them
meanwhile
Lincoln had just finished building a house for him and lily
"there all done." Lincoln said
"linky!" Lily said as she approached
Lincoln turned and saw Lily and cream alongside two new faces
"who are your new friends?" Lincoln asked before his data base gave him an answer for one
Shadow the hedgehog: the ultimate life form
(well then.) Lincoln thought to himself
"such a lovely village!" Maria said
shadow glared at Lincoln muttering something about a "another faker"
"who are your friends?" Lincoln asked
before Lily got the chance to answer someone yelled:
"the Raiders are attacking!"
"give me a minute." Lincoln said before going to deal with that
Lily tugged on shadow's arm
"what?" Shadow asked
"help." Lily said
"you want me to help him?" Shadow asked
Lily nodded
"why?" Shadow asked
"because it's a nice thing to do shadow!" Maria said
"fine." Shadow said before going to where the battle was
Lily immediately followed him
Lincoln was beating the crap out of the raiders
"I'm surprised you guys are this dumb." Lincoln said "I mean that one who got away should've told you what I was capable of."
"shut up!" One of the raiders said before charging in
Lincoln immediately did a spin dash into him as the raider tried to punch the equivalent of a high speed buzz saw
unsurprisingly this didn't go well for him as Lincoln cut his entire arm off
Lincoln then looked on the ground to see the raider holding what was left of his arm
"Think! You dummy!" Lincoln said pointing at his head "I'm basically a buzzsaw when I do that! why try and punch me?!"
one raider tried to sneak attack him from behind but got kicked in the head by shadow
"thanks for that." Lincoln said "now let's wrap this up."
"hold it." a voice said
they turned and saw a wolf holding a knife to Lily's neck
"one wrong move and the brat gets it." He said
"linky! Mr. Shadow! Help!" Lily said
"Lily!" Lincoln said "let her go!"
"I'll let her go once you give me everything of value in this village." The wolf said
suddenly lily's eyes turned a magenta colour as an aura began to surround her
"pitiful mortals." "Lily" said "so obsessed with wealth thinking it grants you power. But I will show you true power."
suddenly the knife on lily's neck disappeared in a plethora of cubes before she grabbed the wolf's throat and began hovering a bit off the ground
"let me go you brat!" The wolf said trying to have the fox let go of him with no success
"I am no "brat", mortal. I am the phantom ruby and you will not hurt my new vessel." The phantom ruby said "now begone from my sight."
suddenly, the wolf's body began to glow purple before slowly being erased with the wolf screaming during the entire process either out of pain or fear
"I'm frightened." Lincoln said "what was that!?"
"destruction. In its purest form. his very soul is no more." The phantom ruby said before giving control back to lily
Lily due to being unable to focus on her flying fell right on her butt
"owie." Lily said
"Lily! Are you alright?" Lincoln asked
the raiders seeing their chase to flee tried to but shadow nailed most of them with a chaos spear causing them to fall down
only a handful escaped from the village promising to return
soon the villagers came out of hiding and began to cheer for them as officers arrived to arrest the knocked out raiders
"that was easy." Lincoln said
"hey!" Maria said as she and cream approached "are you guys alright?"
"we're fine." Lincoln said "I never caught your name by the way."
"Maria robotnik." Maria said
(robotnik? Where have I heard that?) Lincoln thought to himself
"I believe it's time for us to go." Shadow said "come on Maria."
Lily grabbed his leg
"stay." Lily said
shadow for the first time in a long time was truly terrified
he just saw this child erase someone from existence and now she was holding on to his leg asking him and Maria to stay
"I guess we're staying." Shadow said
"huh? Why-" Maria began before shadow stopped her
"trust me once you see what the child is capable of you'll know." Shadow said
then lily's left eye turned magenta again
"don't worry I won't erase you." The phantom ruby said using the left side of Lily to speak "this does make things more interesting."
Lily was confused as to how her mouth was moving on its own and why she couldn't see out of her left eye
then the phantom ruby gave up control causing Lily to gain full control again
"but where would we stay?" Maria asked
Lily pointed to the house Lincoln just built
Lincoln wanted to argue but he knew better than to argue with beings who can erase people
looks like he and lily are staying at vanilla's for a little while longer
the phantom ruby is entirely sentient here
lincoln really got his house taken over by someone who's supposed to be dead and the ultimate life form
and before you ask about it if the phantom ruby can bring back the hard boiled heavies then it can bring back Maria as a cat
also gonna be ignoring the sonic boom games here because I'm not a masochist
