Chapter 19: Siblings and Students

Skit 1: Sisters

In a workout room set for Beacon's students to train and workout, Khazhak and Jaune are doing a little session. Jaune is busy lifting twenty-pound weights, but Khazhak is doing the same thing, only at sixty pounds and isn't breaking a sweat.

"Doesn't that ever get tiring for you?" Jaune asks as he tries to keep up with Khazhak.

"Not really. Besides, Lloyd can lift twice as much as this without breaking a sweat. He has the most raw strength in our team, though I've got the skill," Khazhak replies offhandedly.

"Right... Oh, hold on," Jaune finishes a set of ten and puts the weights down before doing some stretching. "So, I'm been meaning to ask, but have things been getting easier for you and Yukari getting along? It seems like have the time you want to kill her even though she's your sister's girlfriend."

"Well, I will admit that it's better than her being with a guy. If that had happened, I'd have skinned him alive and then stuffed him inside a bag made of his own skin," Khazhak's horrifying comment makes Jaune quiver in fear. "But, since it's not, I can't do that. Though, Yukari does indeed annoy me plenty of times. That's why I have to make sure she doesn't try anything funny while she's around. My sister is too young for that kind of stuff right now," Khazhak puts down the weights and then starts doing bench presses at 210.

"Right, anyone ever tell you that you may be a little overprotective sometimes?" Jaune asks as he starts jogging on a tread-mill.

"Not to my face, and those that said anything at all... usually don't say much else after I'm through with them. Besides, how did we make this conversation about my sister liking girls. You've got an older sister that's MARRIED to another woman and they already have a kid. Now, I never had any issues with that kind of stuff. I'm just saying," Khazhak retorts.

"Hey, it was a bit of shock for me too. Back home, I was always trying to make sure they weren't trying to tie my hair up in ponytails, or make me wear girls' clothes... or put make-up on my face," Jaune starts to groan at the humiliating memories. "But, if she's happy, then I'm happy. Besides, when she moved to Argus with her family, it meant one less sister to constantly mess with me until it was time for me to enroll a Beacon,"

"Yeah, only for other people to mess with you here. Whether it was than moron, Cardin, or it was Lloyd and Porphyrius playing pranks on you," Khazhak notes.

Jaune slumps while jogging, "Yeah... wait, what are Lloyd and Porphyrius doing to me?"

"Nothing. Anyway, as I was saying, you've got little room to talk. The main difference is that your sister is older than you so you don't need to be so protective of her. I sister is younger than me, so of course I have to look out for her. I regret nothing," Khazhak gets back on track.

"But, what about Voshkie'ahk? Shouldn't she have a say in the matter? I mean, it's her relationship status we're talking about here. Besides, she's a skilled warrior, even if she isn't going through the normal channels. She's stronger than most of the students here at Beacon, even some of the older students,"

"Does that include you in that list?" Khazhak asks rhetorically.

"...Not cool, man," Jaune groans as he finishes up on the tread-mill and Khazhak finishes his bench presses. The two boys grab towels and water bottles to help with the sweat. "Like I said, I doubt Yukari can actually do anything to her. If anything, I think the only people who need protection are anybody that get in their way."

"Doesn't make a difference. Yukari knows how to get her way with Voshkie'ahk. That snake-woman can't be trusted," Khazhak retorts.

"So, you're still going to occasionally try and kill Yukari if she tries something, and you'll never get over with it or try to get along with her?" Jaune stares at him.

"Yes... and nope," Khazhak flatly states, which makes Jaune sigh again.

Skit 2: Teacher's Pet

Khazhak is at the weapon's smith, working on his swords one day. He has the blades next to the grinder, sharpening them and dealing with any possible chips or indentations that have arisen after all the battles he's been in so far. Of course, just as he's finishing up on his work, the door to the smith opens up to reveal Professor Goodwitch.

"Ah, this is where you were, Mr. Rairyu," Goodwitch approaches him.

"Professor Goodwitch, look, whatever Lloyd did this time; I had nothing to do with it and you have my permission to dish out any punishment on him that you see fit," Khazhak replies without turning as he wipes his blades down with a white cloth.

"Uh, no, this isn't about Lloyd, though I do appreciate having your blessing to punish your sworn brother. I'm sure I'll be needing to do so eventually this week," Glynda shakes her head. "No, wait, that's not why I'm here. I require your aid in an important matter,"

"No, you can't use my semblance to help power the school in order to save money on the electric bill," Khazhak replies, again without turning, while he takes a look at how shiny his swords are now.

"Will you stop that? I require your aid in apprehending some students that are guilty of skipping out on classes and neglecting their studies. I usually handle them myself when I'm not in the middle of teaching on of my classes or handling other matters, but this year, I require an extra set of hands," Glynda explains.

"Why me?" Khazhak asks as he finally faces her.

"Because, you're one of the most skilled, powerful, and intimidating students at the academy. If you tell them to return to class and make sure they don't skip out on their school work, I'm sure they'll listen to you," Glynda says.

"One: flattery doesn't get you anywhere with me. Not that I dislike it. Two: I don't work for free. What's in it for me?" Khazhak crosses his arms.

Glynda takes a moment to come up with an answer, "Hmmm... How about taking this as an extra credit assignment... and I'll have the cooks in the cafeteria cook up anything and everything you and your team want to eat for a month. As much as you can eat,"

Khazhak scratches his chin, "Hmm... You drive a hard bargain, Professor Goodwitch. Alright, you got yourself a deal," and they shake on it.

And so, whenever he has the time, Khazhak starts going around the school as some kind of disciplinary agent; dealing with students breaking school rules or skipping out on classes. He even gets his team involved once he told them about what they would get out of helping Goodwitch. They can never pass up on such a delicious offer. Whenever Khazhak found students skipping classes, he would handle it differently depending on the situation. If the students are girls, he'd either persuade them to go or scare them into going. If they were guys, he's scare them so close to wetting themselves, and if they tried to fight back, well...

"AAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHH!" Dove Bronzewing and Sky Lark screaming as they were thrown out the fourth story window after refusing to listen to Khazhak gives people a good idea of what could happen to them if they don't obey.

There were a few that started referring to Khazhak as some sort of teacher's pet for helping Goodwitch. Of course, those few soon went down back to zero when the rest of his team got their hands on them. People quickly learned that they had to make a decision: follow rules and only have to worry about being bored in their classes, or break the rules and Khazhak ends up breaking their legs and their dignity. It was a no-brainer.

Later on, Team KEPL enjoy an all you can eat buffey after helping Goodwitch with her request.

"You know, we should do this more often. Teach some idiots whose boss, and get free food out of it. Goodwitch should've asked us to do this months ago," Lloyd notes while stuffing his face with some sashimi.

"All in a day's work, boys. All in a day's work," Khazhak notes while eating some pasta.

Skit 3: Play Nice

"Are you sure you don't want us to go with you? What if something happens?" Joana asks Robyn Hill as they walk through the streets of Vale.

Robyn rolls her eyes, "I'm sure, Joana. I appreciate the concern, but this is something that I need to do. I finally got Khazhak and Voshkie'ahk to spend some time with me in the city. I want to try and reconnect with them. It'll just be for a little while,"

"Okay, but what do you want us to do in the mean time?" Fiona asks.

"I don't know, make friends with his teammates or something. I'll bet they'll come along too as some kind of insurance or whatever," Robyn waves it off.

May slouches, "Oh, great, we get to hang out with a guy that hides behind a skull mask, a kid with serious anger problems, and a cyborg that may or may not have a few screws loose. Yay,"

They come around a corner to find Khazhak, his team, and Voshkie'ahk waiting for them.

"Okay, I'll be back in a little while. Try not to get into a fight with his teammates. It'll only make things harder for me down the road. Later," Robyn walks off to meet with her niece and nephew.

The three family members walk off, leaving the teammates and the happy huntresses to have a little stare down. A lone tumbleweed passes by as no one makes a move.

Lloyd decided to go first, "So... you guys hungry?" he points behind him.

"Are you kidding me? Is that all you have to-," May begins until her stomach suddenly growls, making everyone stare at her. "...Shut up. Fine, let's go,"

The group of six end up at a local restaurant with menus in their hands as they are still getting a feel for one another.

"So, you're Khazhak's teammates. What has it been like fighting alongside Robyn's nephew?" Fiona asks, trying to find some leeway here.

"It's been fun mostly... except for the times when he flips my bed over when I'm trying to sleep. I need me beauty rest, after all," Lloyd notes.

"One, there's nothing beautiful about you, and two, why would you guys care about how Khazhak's been doing? You guys either never knew he existed or simply thought he was dead like Robyn Hill did," Porphyrius quickly makes things go sour.

"Hey, Robyn feels sorry about that, and she's trying to make up for lost time. What's important to her is important to us too," Joana argues as she stands out of her seat.

"You can say that, but actions speak louder than words, for which you haven't shown much. And Robyn Hill hasn't shown much action in the past several years," Edo retorts.

Joana cracks her knuckles, "You want some action? I can show you that right now. How about it?"

"Joana, no! This is a restaurant, not a fight club," Fiona holds her friend back.

Lloyd laughs, "Hahahaha, now that's more like it. You're on!" and he's not helping the situation.

A few moments later, Lloyd and Joana are in the middle of an arm-wrestling match while the rest are eating the food they ordered at another table so they don't risk their food flying everywhere.

"Come on, you'll have to do better than that!" Joana growls as she tries to pin Lloyd.

"Oh please, I haven't even gotten serious yet," Lloyd smirks since he really isn't using his full strength yet.

Fiona sighs as she watches the match, "How did things come to this?"

Porphyrius sips his soda, "Hey, at least they're not trying to kill each other. Would you rather we do that and just end up tearing the whole restaurant apart?"

"Can't argue with that. Besides, food and a good show is always fine by me," May notes before chewing on her burger.

"As long as things don't escalate, we should be fine by the time Khazhak, Voshkie'ahk, and Robyn return," Edom notes.

Just then, Lloyd pins Joana's arm, "Hah, I win again! That's four to two now," Lloyd blows on his fingers in victory.

Joana holds her head, "Argh! Rematch, now!" and they're back at it.

The rest of the group just sigh before returning to their meal. At least they're getting along and not trying to kill each other.

And that's the chapter. Some more fun hijinks and other random scenarios for all to see. Wonder what they'll all end up doing next. Until then, please Read and Review.
