Chapter 28: Pranks and Painful Moments
Skit 1: Need a Drink
"So, there I was, smack dab in the middle of a pack of Beowolves looking to rip me to shreds. I knew that the only way out was through them all. I focused my eyes, readied my scythe, and then... oh, wait, hold on," Qrow Branwen checks his flask to find it suddenly empty. "Before I finish the story, just give me... one second... and... done!" and after turning away from everyone for a moment, he suddenly had his flask refilled as he takes a swig. "Okay, now where was I?"
Qrow is telling another story about his missions to Ruby and Yang, while Porphyrius and Lloyd listen in from the sidelines.
"Where does he keep all that alcohol anyway. I thought the only one who knew how to pull off something like that was Ozpin and his coffee," Lloyd wonders.
"Who knows? Why should it matter anyway? Qrow's always been drunk in case you've forgotten," Porphyrius notes, looking bored.
"Yeah, I know but don't you think that having too much alcohol like that is bad for him. What happens if he has a sudden health problem in the middle of a fight with some Grimm?" Lloyd asks.
Porphyrius cocks an eyebrow, "Since when did you become the voice of reason on this team? I thought that was Edom's job,"
"I don't know. Maybe Khazhak shorted something out during out last sparring session. Anyway, should we do something?" Lloyd says.
"You really think you can get Qrow to quit cold turkey just like that? You'd probably have a better chance of getting Weiss to go out on a date with you. And that's only if Edom doesn't kill you first," Porphyrius notes.
Lloyd gives him a flat stare, "Okay, first, that's gross. Second, I can totally do it. I'll bet you two weeks' worth of cleaning duty in our dorm room on it,"
Porphyrius shrugs his shoulders, "Alright, I'll take that bet. Let's see what you got," they shake on it and then Lloyd runs to get to work.
…
Later that day, Lloyd follows Qrow all around Beacon and then Vale until he ends up at a wine and liquor store. Inside, Lloyd watches Qrow speak with the owner behind the desk, and apparently, this guy is the one that provides Qrow with his near limitless supply of alcohol. The owner says he has Qrow's next shipment in the back and goes to get it while Qrow waits outside. Lloyd sees his chance and sneaks into the back to see the owner getting several cases of liquor ready for Qrow. However, he also notices that there are several cases of Grimm Sprite right next to them. Lloyd quickly moves and does a chop to the back of the owner's head, knocking him out and quickly gets to work.
…
A few minutes later, the owner wakes up and finds nothing out of the ordinary. Realizing that Qrow is waiting on him, the owner finishes what he was doing and takes the order out... all while Lloyd watches from the shadows.

The next day, Qrow is walking through the courtyard of Beacon and takes a swig of his flask, but notices a slightly different taste than what he normally drinks.
"Hmm, did he give me a new brand? Well, I guess it's okay, though it lacks a certain kick to it that my drinks usually give me. Oh, well," he continues on while drinking.
Porphyrius and Lloyd pop out from behind a tree, "What did you do?" Porphyrius asks.
"I emptied out all the liquor bottles and refilled them with Grimm Sprite instead. The owner never noticed a thing," Lloyd replies, smirking.
Porphyrius sighs, "Ugh, fine, you win the bet. This time anyway," he concedes defeat.
Skit 2: Dressed for Dread
Voshkie'ahk is outside the school, practicing with her Dust cards, combining the powers of fire and lightning to create a devasting blast that takes out several targets lined up for her. After the targets are reduced to dust (no pun intended), Voshkie'ahk checks on the rest f her cards. However, while she's doing that, Cinder, Emerald, and Mercury pop out from behind a tree and spy on her.
"You sure this is a good idea? If Khazhak finds out about this, he and his team will do to us what they did to Team CRDL last semester when they bullied that blonde idiot, Jaune," Emerald asks.
"Are you kidding? Of course, this is a good idea. An evil idea! Besides, I'm bored, so let's have some fun," Mercury's all for it.
"Yes, it's about time we get a victory on our side. I created a new evil plan for this. Let's go, now," Cinder commands.
The three move, with Emerald using her semblance on Voshkie'ahk to make her think that a thick layer of smoke is forming around her.
"Huh, wait a moment. This wasn't here a second ago. Did I go too far with the fire Dust?" Voshkie'ahk covers her face and looks around, but notices something. "Wait, I'm not coughing or having trouble breathing."
Just then, several water balloons come flying through the smoke, hitting Voshkie'ahk from all sides. What's worse, the balloons are not loaded with water, but with paint of different colors. Voshkie'ahk screams as she gets pelted, but the onslaught ends a moment later, and the smoke disappears. Unfortunately, Voshkie'ahk is a mess with all the paint on her, even in her hair.
"Oh no, this is a mess! Wahh!" Voshkie'ahk runs away, almost crying while Cinder and her followers look on and snicker with glee.
However, someone saw what happened, and who the culprits were.
"Those disgusting little maggots dared to harm my darling! If they want embarrassment and humiliation, then I'll give them just that. No one hurts my beloved and gets away with it!" Yukari Hakucho breaks the binoculars that she was originally using to watch her girlfriend, a dark look in her eyes.

A little later, as Cinder and her crew are hanging out in their dorm room while laughing about what they did to Voshkie'ahk, something breaks through their glass window. They jump just as s flash grenade goes off, blinding them. Yukari then jumps in and knocks them all out with Nora's hammer (Nora let her borrow it for the day). They wraps them all up in rope and takes them away. When they wake up, they find themselves in the back of a large clothing store, with Yukari stands over them.
"Who the Oum are you?! How dare you tie me up like this!" Cinder yells.
"Who I am means nothing? What is important is that you harmed my beloved Voshkie darling, and now you're going to pay for it. You like humiliating people? Well, let's see how you like it when the shoe is on the other foot," Yukari shows them a sinister smile that actually makes them shudder.
Being Remnant's best fashion designer, Yukari has a treasure-trove of clothes at her disposal, of all types and trends. She starts forcing the three into embarrassing outfits one by one. For Mercury, she put him through the ringer of clown costumes, the diaper and pacifier of a baby, and even an outfit that looks like the cross between a Grimm and a normal monkey. All the while, Mercury is crying like a baby. Next is Emerald. Yukari forces her into a pretty pink dress with lots of frills, a maid outfit with a skirt that might be a little too short, and teddy bear pajamas for a little girl.
"Please, have mercy, I beg you! I can't take any more humiliation!" Emerald's cries fall on depth ears.
Finally, she forces Cinder into a light-up neon green bodysuit, a set of cat-styled pajamas, and then even an outfit similar to Ruby Rose's. What could be more revolting than wearing the outfit of your most hated enemy. This goes on for a while until all three are laying on the ground, their strength depleted. Yukari stands over them, Nora's hammer at the ready.
"Now then, what have we learned?" Yukari asks.
"To never do anything to Voshkie'ahk ever again," Emerald barely gasps out.
"And what else?" Yukari says.
"That we know nothing of proper fashion. We are just insects to your artistic might. No more, please..." Cinder cries waterfall tears.
"Good. Now then, all that's left is..." Yukari raises her hammer and smashes it down on them.
Their screams could be heard all the way back to Beacon.
Skit 3: DJ Ready
Porphyrius and Voshkie'ahk are playing World of Remnant out in the courtyard, with Porphyrius and Vacuo, and Voshkie'ahk as Mistral.
"With my Mistral trade route card, I get to take one of your cards and add them to my hand. So, hand them over," Voshkie'ahk smirks.
Porhyrius groans "Argh, fine, here, take them!" Porphyrius hands over his hand and Voshkie'ahk takes one before returning the rest.
Just then, Ruby walks over, "Hey guys, have you seen Penny? I've been looking for her because we have plans in Vale later today,"
"Hmmm, no, I haven't seen her," Porphyrius shakes his head.
"I don't really know where she might be, but I remember Azula saying something about speaking with Penny," Voshkie'ahk notes.
"Azula? What would she want with Penny?" Ruby asks, but the two can only shrug their shoulders in reply.
…
Meanwhile, Azula and Penny are hanging out in the empty auditorium at Beacon, with Azula's favorite piano with them.
"I must thank you again for agreeing to help me practice for my next big show Penny. I really appreciate it," Azula says.
"Of course, anything for a friend. I wanted to test out my new systems anyway. I didn't get the chance to last time at the battle of the bands," Penny notes.
"Well, you should be able to get plenty of practice here. Now, you remember what we rehearsed, correct?" Azula asks.
Penny salutes, "Yes, ma'am. Engage music protocols," Penny starts transforming a little and her DJ equipment comes online around her body. "I'm DJ ready,"
Azula turns, "I trust you won't fall behind," she remarks mockingly at Weiss, who stands before a microphone.
Weiss scoff, "Please, who do you think you're talking to? Just try to keep up, will ya," she flicksher ponytai.
Azula takes her seat at her piano and cracks her fingers, "Alright, follow me lead and try to keep the tempo in balance with my notes, okay?" she asks, and Penny nods. "Alright, then let's begin,"
Azula starts off with her piano, with Penny quickly following her lead. The music flows beautifully and grows in volume.
Weiss leans into a microphone, "Takanaru kodou fureau ima erande. Susume toki no hate he..."
As she sings, people overhear it and start to enter the auditorium, becoming mesmerized by the music.
"...Potsuri kokuu no yo ni tsubuyaita. Mata ashita ne tte kotoba. Moe meguri terasu taiyou no you na. Tsuyosa to eien ni kogareta...Tatta hitotsu nokoseru nara. Sonzai wo daita kono shunkan no egao wo. Tatta hitotsu mamoru beki ha kimi no mirai. Setsuna yurete kishime kono yo wo erande. Zutto unmei no chi wo kakeru. Mebae hajimeta honou mune ni hime. Ima wo, asu wo, kimi he..."
By the time Weiss finishes the chorus, the auditorium is nearly filled with students and faculty cheering for their performance. Ruby, Voshkie'ahk, and Porphyrius can be seen near one of the entrances.
"Huh, so that's what Azula meant when she needed Penny's help," Ruby notes.
"Well, I'm not complaining... I was losing to Voshkie'ahk in that game earlier anyway," Porphyrius laments.
"...Takanaru kodou fureau ima erande. Kitto unmei no ri ni ikiru. Itsuka kieiku honou negai ni kae. Yume wo, asu wo, kimi he. Sora wo, umi wo, koete..."
Soon, Weiss finishes the lyrics, followed by Azula and Penny lulling the music down as it comes to an end. The crowd cheers and claps at their stunning performance.
"Yay! It's so much fun spending time with friends. Right, friends?" Penny says, looking between Weiss and Azula.
Weiss and Azula turn their heads away from each other, "Hmph, whatever," they say together, which only confuses poor, innocent Penny.
