Chapter 32: Tricks and Treats
Skit 1: Halloween
In Team RWBY's room, Ruby has a sinister look in her eye while going over a bunch of badly drawn images on several sheets of paper.
"Yes, after I'm done with them, they'll never try turning me into a trash can like last year on my birthday ever again! AHAHAHAHA!" she laughs maniacally.
"Um..." Lloyd pops out from behind her. "You do remember our deal, right? I help you with your little pranks, and you help me find a good gift for Azula for her next birthday. One that isn't a weapon, right,"
Ruby waves it off, "Yes, yes, you'll get your cut. But first, it's time for Ruby's Revenge Plan!"
"As long as we don't do anything that will get on Brother's bad side, I'm always up for a little fun. So, who's our first victim?" Lloyd asks.
Ruby pulls out one of the papers, "Better to save the best for last, so we'll start with...

Ren is in the kitchen, cooking up his famous pancakes. As he cooks, Nora comes in to try and snag a few, but Ren gets in her way and starts to escort her out of the kitchen. Using this window, Ruby puts some kind of powder in the pancake mix and leaves before Ren comes back. A few minutes later, Ren invites Nora back for some pancakes, but shortly after eating them together, the pair find their stomachs turning on them. They spent the rest of the day in their respective restrooms.
Later, Jaune is walking through a hallway until he comes under a large magnet hanging from the ceiling. The magnet pulls him up by his armor and he gets stuck.
"Hey, help! What's going on! Someone, get me down from here!" Jaune screams.
"Hang on Jaune, I'll help! Lloyd comes running.
"Oh, thank you Llo-," and when Lloyd jumps up, all he does is pull down Jaune's pants, revealing Pumpkin Pete underwear. "AH!" he covers himself up.
"Oops. Hold on, I got an idea. I'll be right back," Lloyd leave with the pants, but he never comes back, much to Jaune's dismay.
Next, Weiss gets ready to continue from where she left off in her notes. But, as soon as she opens her notebook, she finds the notes either ripped out, scrambled, or just blacked out completely. Weiss goes through her notes until the disorder becomes too much and she has a nervous breakdown. The next victim is Blake. As she's returning to her room, she catches the scent of tuna nearby and is lured in by the delicious smell. She enters a darkened room, finding a tuna meal on a plate in the center. As she grabs it, the door closes and locks, the lights come on and she finds herself surrounded by pictures of Zwei littered all over the floor and the walls and the ceiling. Blake looks around in horror until she screams. They originally thought about going after Pyrrha, but she was too nice for that sort of thing and helped Ruby out of her trash can costume shortly after Ruby was put in it last year, so they spared her. That just leaves Yang.
Yang walks into her dorm's bathroom and pulls out her numerous hair care products. She picks out a hair spray for her long blonde locks and gives it a little shake. When she goes to spray it, a red mist cascades all over the room. When the mist settles, Yang finds parts of her hair have been dyed red. Yang stares in the mirror for a long moment before...
"MY HAIR!" some students could've sworn they felt the whole dorm building shake.

Lloyd and Ruby laugh in Vale, safely away from the chaos at Beacon, "Ah, revenge is sweet," Ruby notes.
"Just remember your end of the bargain," Lloyd says.
"Yeah, yeah, I know. Khazhak better be getting a birthday present for me, though," Ruby notes.
"Oh, don't worry, he was up all night last night trying to figure out the perfect gift for you. It's all good," Lloyd says, making Ruby smile.
It truly was a happy Halloween... well, for a few at least.
Skit 2: Hard-headed
"And Lloyd Jyousai is the winner," Glynda Goodwitch announces in the training room.
Behind her, Weiss lays on the ground, crosses for eyes, as she lays defeated. Meanwhile, Lloyd stands triumphant, wiping off some dust from his shoulder.
"Better luck next time, Ice Queen. Maybe work on your physical conditioning instead of just your written test scores," Lloyd leaves with a wave.
…
The next day, Weiss is in her room, with a board out and several papers stuck to it. The top paper reads "Weiss's revenge against Lloyd Plan".
"That little iron-headed jerk-face. I'll make him rue the day he messes with a Schnee," she rubs her hands together and gets her plan into action.
…
As Lloyd comes out of the men's room, Weiss waits around the corner, using her glyphs to hold a large block of ice in mid-air. When he walks under it, Weiss releases her semblance to make the ice drop. However, as Lloyd notices a shadow forming above him, he looks up and activates his semblance just in time, causing the ice to break apart as it hits his steel-covered body, leaving him unscathed.
"Nice try, Ice Queen. But, do keep trying, please," Lloyd notes offhandedly as he walks by.
Weiss comes out of the corner and her body starts to shake with anger.

Outside in the courtyard, Ilia has a conversation with Voshkie'ahk, "You have to keep me safe from your crazy girlfriend," Ilia pleads.
Voshkie'ahk sighs, "What did she do this time?"
"She's been trying to force me into those stupid gothic lolita dresses you see girls where in some anime and movies. I can't stand that girly-stuff. I prefer pants, thank you very much. I still haven't recovered from the last time she got her perverted hands on me... I still have nightmares about that," Ilia shudders.
"Okay, okay, you can spare me the details. I'll see what I can do about Yukari. I know a few ways to keep her attention away from you until she forgets, but, you'll owe me big time for this,"
Ilia smiles and is practically on her knees, "Oh, thank you, thank you, than-," she stops when a sudden explosion suddenly makes them pop up a moment.
They look to see the signs of an explosion nearby, with Lloyd standing in the middle, unharmed thanks to his semblance.
"Damn, to think you'd actually hide fire Dust crystals underground and waited for me to step on them. Getting more creative, Ice Queen, but you need to do a better job of covering your tracks. Better luck next time," Lloyd laughs as he walks on.
Weiss comes out from behind a tree. She stretches a cloth between her teeth and her hands in rage.
"That annoying little walking tin-can. I will get you is it's the last thing I do!" Weiss curses.
…
The next day, Team KEPL is having lunch in the cafeteria. As they eat and make light conversation, Weiss sneaks up behind Lloyd. When his attention is elsewhere, she sprinkles some extra spicey seasoning into his pasta's sauce. She bolts before he notices anything. However, he catches a whiff of something in the air and then looks across the table to Team JNPR.
"Hey Nora, I'll switch my lunch with yours and give you twenty lien for your sandwich," Lloyd offers.
"Hah, you think I'd be bought that easily. I'm not that cheap," Nora turns her head away.
"I'll help you in your next scheme to get Ren to notice you," Lloyd whispers.
"...Hand over the pasta," Nora agrees and they switch lunches.
Nora takes a bite of her pasta, but as soon as she does, her mouth heats up and she screams for some water. Nora runs around while the rest of her team try to calm her down.
Lloyd looks back at Team RWBY's table, "Close, Schnee, but if you're trying to sneak up on someone, a word of advice: do so without wearing so much perfume. You gave yourself away,"
Weiss practically snaps her plate in half as her anger boils over, much to the shock of her teammates.
Skit 3: Slash or Smash
Yang groans as she rests her head on a desk, much to the annoyance of Weiss.
"What is your problem this time, Yang? I swear, it better not be your hair products again. You have practically an entire hair salon's worth in the bathroom," Weiss says.
"It's not that. It's that new project from Professor Port. We have to switch our weapons with someone else's and test them out to help understand the strengths and weaknesses of them in order to improve them," Yang moans.
"Okay, I still do not see the problem with that. I've already switched my weapon with Blake's since they're similar. If you want to switch with someone, why not Ruby?" Weiss asks.
"Because she's already switched out her weapon with Khazhak's. I need to find someone and fast," Yang moans again.
Weiss sighs, "Well, if you must know, I hear that Lloyd still hasn't found a partner yet. Your weapons are similar, but different enough to be distiguished. Why not try asking him?"
Yang's head bolts up, "Really?! Thank you, Weiss. You're the best. Bye!" and she high-tails it out of there.
Weiss scoffs, "Hmph, of course I am, dolt. I am Weiss Schnee after all,"

A little later, Yang and Lloyd are out in the courtyard, each wearing the other's weapons.
"So, are you sure this is a good idea? My claws aren't exactly made for punching things. I use my fists with my semblance for that," Lloyd asks.
"It's fine. I've seen you use them in action enough times to get a good idea. Besides, they're not that different. Now come on, let's test them out," Yang waves it off.
Lloyd goes first and tests Yang's gauntlets against some test dummies. He makes a few punches and takes out the dummies. It doesn't feel too different when he punches, but it does feel off when he's not trying to cut them into pieces with his claws. He then takes a few shots with shotgun gauntlets. The shots have more recoil than his guns, so it took a moment to get used to it. Although, it felt off with how they actually work by throwing his fists to fire the shots, rather than flexing his wrists and clenching his fingers with his gauntlets. After testing them out, Lloyd steps back for Yang to take a shot with his claws. Yang gets ready to throw a punch, but stops when she remembers that she's using Lloyd's weapon, not hers. She gets the claws out and takes a few swings, but the action feels so off for her. She's always been about bashing her enemies into the ground. Honestly, she's having a hard time getting used to it. She then takes some ranged shots, but when she thrusts her fists out, the gauntlets do not fire. Lloyd facepalms as Yang remembers how he does it and finally gets a few shots off, though they lack the power of her own shots.
After testing them out more, the pair end the testing, "I don't think I'll ever understand how you use these things," Yang notes.
"Really? I use them all the time. Your gauntlets were easy to figure out," Lloyd replies.
"Oh, please, don't make me-," Yang unconsciously waves a hand through her hair, not realizing that she still had the claws on. They both freeze, but it's too late as a few locks of Yang's precious hair fall to the floor from the claws. "...My... My hair..." Yang mutters in shock.
"Oh, look at the time, gotta go!" and Lloyd bolt for his life.
Yang's semblance kicks in, "LLOYD!"
Well, at least Yang stopped worrying about the project now.
