To all my readers-This is the first time that I'm going to do Yugioh without making any character name changes. I want you all to know that my OC Paige Muto is related to Yugi and her looks are based on him. So, think of Paige as a feminine Yugi and Atem. Before anyone asks, yes, I will be doing all 5 seasons of Yugioh and that includes Capsule monsters as well. I was once asked if Paige would be dueling and yes, she will. You won't be able to see her duel until season 2 when Kaiba starts his Battle City Tournament.
I've already had my background chapter ready for Seasons 2-5. To the one who has thought that Paige should have Arkana's Dark Magician, I want you to know that you are very lucky that I have that card in my actual deck. I want everyone to know that when I write season 5 (I really do mean when I write it), how I see Atem when he enters the world of his memories, there will be a couple of major surprises. I can't tell you what those surprises will be because they are still in development and I'm bouncing around some ideas with a couple of my friends so that I can make it the best part of season 5.
If anyone, and I mean anyone tries to rush me while writing this fanfic or any of my other fanfics, all written chapters will be delayed for a week. No exceptions. Leave a positive review and Happy Reading!
I DONT OWN YUGIOH AT ALL! I ONLY OWN THE OC AND HER DUELING DECK!
Shoutouts:
"Whoa! Smooth move!" said Joey. "Yugi caught one of Panik's most powerful monsters, and now he's got 2 magic cards on the table to boot."
"So what? You captured my reaper, but he's only one of my powerful monsters." said Panik.
"Getting nervous, Panik?" asked Yugi, causing Panik to growl at him. "I may have yet to launch an effective attack against you and your night creatures, but that will all change very soon."
"Ridiculous." said Panik. "What are you talking about?"
"You know what I'm talking about." Yugi tells him. "I made you a promise that in five turns I would teach you a lesson that you would never forget, and I intend to make good. You only have four turns left, Panik. Four more turns before I drag you from your shadows and show you up for the bully that you truly are."
"You tell him, Yugi!" shouted Paige.
"You dolt! Have you forgotten whom you faced here?" asked Panik, pressing his pyrotechnic button. "I am Panik the eliminator!"
"Is that supposed to scare me?" Yugi asked, placidly. "Or are you running scared?"
"Yugi's playing with fire. I sure hope he knows what he's doing." said Tea.
"Yeah. This Panik nut-job is playing for keeps." said Joey as he looks over to Mai.
"Oh, yeah." replied Mai. "Panik enjoys breaking people down, making them sweat, watching them squirm. For him, dueling is just an excuse to practice his cruelty."
"You can't stall forever." said Yugi. "Sooner or later, you'll have to make your move."
"Silence!" bellowed Panik as he draws his next card. "Huh? Huh…ha ha ha ha ha! This beast will win the entire match for me, King of Yamimakai!"
King of Yamimakai (ATTK: 2,000/DEF: 1,530) appears on Panik's side of the field. "But don't take my word for it." said Panik "Powered up with the field power bonus that all my monsters get from the night, my King of Yamimakai is far more powerful than your pitiful creature."
"Oh, no!" exclaimed Joey.
"King of Yamimakai, destroy his Curse of Dragon!" bellowed Panik and King of Yamimakai starts its attack with black lightning. "Now my King of Yamimakai…."
"Hmm." said Yugi, smirking.
"Electro-Shock attack!" shouted Panik and King of Yamimakai sends its attack towards Yugi's Curse of Dragon but makes its way across the field to a different monster. "What? Its veering away. Instead of destroying Yugi's Curse of Dragon…its attacking my Reaper of the Cards!"
King of Yamimakai's Electro-Shock attack hits the Reaper of the Cards, destroying it from the field. "Hmm. Your Reaper of the Cards is vanquished!" said Yugi, triumphantly.
"All right!" shouted Joey.
"Panik messed up!" said Tea as Paige cheered.
"No! My life points!" cried Panik as it drops down to 494. "Curse you and your Spell Binding Circle! Its light drew in my energy blast and destroyed my precious monster!"
"They don't do well when they dare step out of the darkness." said Yugi and goes for one of his face down cards. "Now let's bring all of your monsters into the light."
"Huh?" said Panik.
"I dispel all your darkness with the Swords of Revealing Light!" thundered Yugi as he flips the card face up.
"Ungh!" said Bakura, shielding his eyes as the Swords of Revealing Light brightened Panik's side of the field.
"Stop! Stop it! I can't stand the light!" begged Panik as his side of the field was being revealed.
"Your monsters are revealed!" shouted Yugi.
"Ha! No one can keep Yugi in the dark!" said Tristan.
"Ha! In your face, Panik!" shouted Paige.
"Even Panik's cards are revealed now!" said Tea.
"No more hiding, Panik." said Yugi. "Your darkness will shield you no longer. Three turns left, and then you're finished. I didn't use the Swords just to illuminate your monsters. It also causes all your monsters on the field to be frozen for three turns…starting right now. That means you can't make any attack while I implement my strategy."
"Does this upstart think he can panic me?" thought Panik. "He may be planning an attack on his next turn, but the only monster he has on the field is Curse of Dragon. While I still have three mighty monsters of my own: Barox, Dark Chimera, and King of Yamimakai. Despite Yugi's Swords of Revealing Light, my monsters still get a power bonus from the night. And after three turns they'll be free once more, and Yugi will beg me to end this duel."
"You're stalling, Panik." said Yugi, interrupting his thoughts. "Afraid to draw your next card?"
"He continues to goad me." thought Panik as he draws his next card. "Usually my opponents are sobbing and broken by now, but he is not like the others. I will relish crushing his spirit. Huh? Heh heh heh! And this is the card to do it! Yugi, you can forget your foolish delusion of defeating me in just three turns. I've drawn a Chaos Shield Card. "
"Oh, no! That affects all the monsters on the field." said Yugi. "It puts them in defense mode and raises their defense points."
"You're thinking too small, you fool." said Panik as he places the card onto the field. "Or don't you realize that I can combine my Chaos shield with my Castle of Dark Illusions."
"This is bad." said Mai.
"With this combination I can project a defensive shield over my entire area." said Panik as a shield projected down from the castle and over Panik's side of the field.
"Now Yugi can't get anywhere near his monsters." Mai added.
"Whoa." said Joey.
"What's that mean?" asked Tea.
"Panik's untouchable while Yugi's a sitting duck." Mai tells her.
"Not if I'm thinking of what he plans to do." said Paige.
"What?" she asked.
"If my memory serves me correctly, there's only one card in his deck that can help my brother win this duel." said Paige. "And I think he's going to use it against the castle."
"Are you sure about that?" asked Tea.
"I am." Paige replied. "It's only a matter of when he's going to draw it."
"As long as the Chaos Shield is in place, your monsters can't touch me." said Panik. "Do you still think you can defeat me in 3 turns, you impudent shrimp? Admit defeat now. You can see how the shield raises the defense points of my monsters." Behind the Chaos Shield, each monster's defense points rose.
"He's right. That shield protects against any possible attacks, even from my strongest monsters." thought Yugi as Panik starts laughing.
"Hmm, I hate to say it, but Yugi really doesn't stand a chance." said Mai. "Breaking duelists is what Panik does for a living. Panik is brutal, ruthless…everything the ultimate duelist needs to be."
"Mai, you've become so cynical about duel monsters. And you don't understand Yugi at all, really." said Bakura. "There's so much more to him than meets the eye."
"Joey, Yugi can win this, right?" Tristan asked him.
"Man, I wish I could tell ya." replied Joey. "But after the way Panik beat Mai, I got no idea what Yugi's chances are."
"Paige?" Tristan asked, looking at the youngest Muto.
"I know Yugi and if he has a way to beat Panik, then he will." said Paige.
"Give up!" demanded Panik. "Admit defeat! I'm going to crack you like an egg."
"Heh heh." said Yugi, smirking. "You'd like me to crack, wouldn't you, Panik? Because it's worked for you before…winning through intimidation, not through skill."
"You mock my skill?" asked Panik. "My skill is what's defeating you."
"Don't be so sure." said Yugi.
"What do you mean by that?" asked Panik.
"Heh heh. You think you're winning, that your tactics are taking me by surprise, but I saw your strategy the minute I saw what kind of man you are." Yugi explained.
"You're talking nonsense." said Panik.
"I knew you would use Chaos Shield. Cowardly bullies like you always try to hide behind something." said Yugi.
"Shut up! I'm in no way a coward, and I never try to hide behind anything." said Panik.
"Your whole strategy is nothing but hiding and cowering." Yugi tells him.
"Unh! Ha ha ha ha!" said Panik, then turns up the power on his pyrotechnics. "You dare call me a coward? You insignificant little worm. Nobody talks to me that way! I am Panik the eliminator!"
Panik then presses the button and fires his pyrotechnics on Yugi's side. Everyone gasped on the sidelines as Yugi dodges the fire. Breathing heavily, Panik glares at Yugi. "Are you finished?" asked Yugi. "Or are you going to continue to hide behind your bluster and battlements…like a big coward?"
"Unh! Unnnnnh!" groaned Panik.
"The truth hurts. Doesn't it, Panik?" asked Yugi. "Facing up to your true self is usually more than bullies like you can bear, so you hide in the shadows."
"You will taunt me no longer!" shouted Panik.
"Yugi, he's dangerous." said Tea. "You've got to stop stirring him up."
"Don't interfere." said Mai.
"Huh?"
"Yugi's just using Panik's own tactics against him. It's a psych-out warfare." Mai tells her.
"Hmm." said the three boys as they looked at each other.
"I will burn you to a cinder!" said Panik.
"That would prove you're a coward." said Yugi. "If you're not afraid, then you should stop hiding and play this game with honor. Or I will rip your pathetic fearsome facade away."
"You bluff!" bellowed Panik.
"There's only one way you'll know for sure…" said Yugi. "play out this game."
"Errrr-errrr!" growled Panik.
"After all, we'll know in 2 turns." said Yugi. "Can you last just 2 turns? Do you have the courage?"
"Do I have the courage?" asked an angry Panik. "Errrr! Panik fears no duelist. I will crush your spirit and wipe out your life points."
"Whew!" said Joey.
"Boy, Yugi really shook Panik up." said Mai. "Psychology is half the game."
"And now, it's my turn." said Yugi as he drew another card. "And my card is Gaia, the Fierce Knight!" Appearing on Yugi's side of the field, Gaia the Fierce Knight (ATTK: 2,300/DEF: 2,100).
"Idiot!" bellowed Panik. "Do you really think a monster with an attack power that weak can break through my Chaos Shield?"
"Maybe not by himself, but I also have a magic card." said Yugi with his hand over the face down card.
"Huh?" said Panik.
"Read it and weep." said Yugi and turns over his faced down card.
"A Polymerization card!" Panik exclaimed.
"And with this card, I combine them to create Gaia, the Dragon Champion!" shouted Yugi.
Out on the field, all three-card combined and Gaia, the Dragon Champion appeared (ATTK: 2,600/DEF: 2,100). "Now my combo-creature's attack power is raised to 2,600!" said Yugi.
"The Dragon Champion?" question Panik.
"My turn's over, but you're finished as well." said Yugi.
"Finished?" thought Panik. "What does he mean by that? He knows that even with an attack power of 2,600 the Dragon Champion's still not strong enough to break through the Chaos Shield. There's got to be more to his plan than that. Otherwise he wouldn't be so confident. Errr! I can't risk attacking. Unh!"
Panik draws another card from his deck. "But if I just wait one more turn, the paralyzing effects of Yugi's Swords of Revealing Light will wear off. Then I'll deactivate my Chaos Shield, and my monsters will be free to attack all at once, winning it all!" Panik then looks at the card he drew, laughing. "Hmm. Ah, perfect."
"Hmm?" said Yugi, looking up.
"Metal Guardian in defense mode." said Panik. "He will further shield my creatures. And the field power bonus raises his defense power by 2,795. With him on guard, any attack against my monsters is totally impossible."
"Ha! It figures. You're cowering again." said Yugi.
"Insolent dog!" bellowed Panik.
"Your strategy is nothing but putting up defenses." said Yugi. "You're showing how weak you are."
"Silence! In the next turn, the Swords of Revealing Light will be extinguished." Panik tells him. "Then I'll hit you with everything at once."
"It'll be too late." Yugi responded. "I've already led you deep into my trap."
"What?" asked a shocked Panik.
"The stronger you make your defenses, the more you lock yourself into defeat." Yugi explained.
"That's a joke." said Panik. "You're nothing but talk."
"The time for talk is over. That was your last turn." said Yugi. "ARRRRGH! The end is now! Catapult Turtle!"
"I knew it!" said Paige as Catapult Turtle growled its way onto the field.
"Slow and steady wins the duel, Panik." said Yugi. "For I can use the turtle's catapult to launch Gaia, the Dragon Champion and shatter your defenses."
"AAAAH!" bellowed Panik.
"Catapult launch raises Gaia, the Dragon Champion's attack power all the way up to 3,200." said Yugi. "You weren't expecting that, were you?"
"My monster's defense power is still too strong for you." said Panik, laughing. "Protected as they are by the Chaos Shield, you still can't touch them. You can only watch helplessly as they prepare to assault you next turn."
"Who said anything about attacking your monsters?" asked Yugi, calmly. "What I'm attacking is…the castle."
Mai gasps as she realizes what Yugi was doing. "You fool!" shouted Panik. "My castle is unassailable. Its walls are still invincible to any of your attacks. So I won't take any damage at all."
"We'll see about that." said Yugi. "Turtle, catapult launch my Dragon Champion!" Catapult Turtle aims Gaia at the Chaos Shield and launches him, causing an explosion as the others gasped.
"Whoa. Yugi flushed a lot of life points with that maneuver." said Tristan as Yugi's life points dropped to 300.
"Yeah! He sacrificed his Dragon Champion." said Joey.
"That's an awfully big loss: both the monsters and life points." said Bakura.
"Right! And if this attack doesn't bring down that castle, then next turn Panik will wipe out the rest of Yugi's life points." added Joey.
"I hope this works." said Bakura.
"It has to work." said Joey.
"I can't see a thing." said Tea.
"Me either." said Paige.
"Wait." said Tea as the smoke cleared. The ring that held the castle up cracked and fell apart.
"No! It's still floating!" said Tea as Panik laughs. "The castle survived."
"Fool! For all your threats, my castle is unharmed." said Panik. "Your worthless attack simply knocked off its flotation ring off. And now that your attack has failed, I'll eliminate you once and for all!"
"It's been 5 turns, and I'm still standing, Yugi." jeered Panik. "My monsters are still contained and protected within the Chaos Shield. When this turn is over, the paralyzing effects of your Swords of Revealing Light will vanish. Then, on my turn, I'll attack you with all of my monsters and wipe you out forever."
"I wouldn't be so sure of that." muttered Paige, causing Tea to look at her.
"How could you be so sure?" asked Tea.
"Remember what my brother did when he sacrificed Gaia?" asked Paige, pointing to the Castle of Illusions.
"Hmm." said Yugi, knowing that he had heard what Paige had said. "There is no next turn for you. This duel has already ended."
"It's not over." said Panik.
"Doesn't it seem strange to you that a castle that's lost its flotation ring is somehow still floating?" Yugi asked. "What if the Swords of Revealing Light had locked in place, not only your monsters, but your castle as well? Then what would happen next?"
"It can't be!" screeched Panik.
"Can it?" asked Mai.
"It can and will happen." said Paige.
"Right now, the only thing holding up your castle are the Swords of Revealing Light. And when this turn ends each and every sword will vanish." said Yugi.
"But…that means…" said Panik.
"It's over!" shouted Yugi. "And now your world's about to come tumbling down."
"AAH! NO!" bellowed Panik. "No one defeats Panik!"
"My turn is over." said Yugi. The Swords of Revealing Light vanished and the Castle of Illusions starts falling.
"Run, Monsters! Get out of the way!" Panik yelled to his monsters.
"It's no good." Yugi tells him. "The Chaos Shield is keeping them from running anywhere. You've trapped them all inside."
Behind the Chaos Shield, Panik's monsters were trying to get out. Panik groaned as the Castle of Illusions finally fell on top of his monsters. "Hmm." said Yugi, as his life points stayed at 300 while Panik's life points dropped to zero.
"He won!" shouted Tea as she hugged Paige.
"And Panik's not taking it well." said Joey.
"I'll say." said Tristan. "Panik's having a panic attack."
"Nobody beats Panik. Nobody!" growled Panik as he hung his head in defeat before looking up at Yugi. "Look at him, that smug little worm, still he mocks me! I may not have defeated you, Yugi, but I can still eliminate you!"
Panik then smashes his pyrotechnics machine, causing the cannons on Yugi's side to go on full blast. "Yugi!" said Joey and Tristan.
"He's trapped by the fire!" shouted Joey. "And he can't escape."
"We'll see who's the coward now." said Panik as another set of cannons appeared. "Fire!"
Just before the fire could touch him, the Millenium Puzzle glowed and the eye appeared on his forehead. "Yugi's gonna be fried to a crisp." said Tea. "Yugi!"
"Get out of the way!" shouted Bakura as a funnel of fire spun in front of them.
"Where's Paige?" asked Tea, not seeing the young Muto beside her.
"She must be inside the funnel of fire." said Tristan.
"You survived!" exclaimed Panik. "How can this be? It's impossible."
"My Millenium puzzle protects me as well as my sister from your cowardly assault." said Yugi, causing Panik to look over at Paige, who was covering her eyes. "But nothing will protect you from…oblivion!"
"AAAAAAH!" Panik screamed for the last time and disappears.
"Yugi, you were incredible." said Tea as Paige tries to wipe off the smoke from her face.
"Your Millenium Puzzle has more power than we thought." said Tristan.
"Not only did it protect Yugi, but it also saved all of us from the flames, too." said Joey.
"But somehow, it didn't want me to jump away from the flames." Paige said.
"That is true." said Joey as Yugi walks over to Mai.
"Yugi, I don't know what to say." said Mai.
"Here." he said with her star chips in hand. "These star chips are yours."
"Uh…" said Mai, looking down at them in his hand.
"They're yours. Take them." Yugi insisted.
"Go on." said Tea.
"I'm sorry, but I can't accept them." said Mai. "I fight my own battles."
"Mai, Yugi battled for you." Tea tells her. "He risked his life in this duel for you."
"And with honor, I might add." said Paige.
"I know, but…."
"Heh heh. There's no point in arguing. She's way two thick headed." said Joey as he walks up to them. "Heh."
"Huh?" said Yugi as Joey reaches around.
"But if she'd rather be booted off the island, I'll take 'em." said Joey, laughing as Mai growls angrily at him.
"You think me losing all my star chips is funny, Joey Wheeler!?" Mai shouted at the top of her lungs.
"I thought you didn't want 'em, Mai." Joey tells her as she reaches for the star chips.
"Give 'em back!" shouted Mai and Joey hands them over.
"Of course you can have 'em." said Joey. "They're yours."
"Uh…really, Joey?" she asked.
"Didn't you learn anything from this duel?" Joey asked Mai. "You can't always keep your defenses up. 'Cause they'll just get between you…and the other people who are trying to be your friends. So can't you let your shield down…just this one time?"
"Hmm." said Yugi, nodding in agreement as Mai looked unsure.
"Heh heh! I'm such a sensitive guy." said Joey.
"Yeah, when you're not being a pain." said Tristan.
"Which is most of the time." said Tea.
"We know you well, Joey." said Paige as they all laughed.
"Ah, my adoring fans." said Joey.
"Yugi, wait!" Mai called out.
"Hmm?" he said as he turned around.
"I'll repay you for what you did today." said Mai. "You the one who won these. As far as I'm concerned I still owe you…more than I've ever owed anyone. And when we finally do face each other in a duel it'll be an honorable one."
"Sounds good." said Tea.
"I like that idea." said Paige.
"Yes, an honorable one." said Yugi, turning to leave. "That's a duel I'd look forward to, Mai."
