To all my readers-This is the first time that I'm going to do Yugioh without making any character name changes. I want you all to know that my OC Paige Muto is related to Yugi and her looks are based on him. So, think of Paige as a feminine Yugi and Atem. Before anyone asks, yes, I will be doing all 5 seasons of Yugioh and that includes Capsule monsters as well. I was once asked if Paige would be dueling and yes, she will. You won't be able to see her duel until season 2 when Kaiba starts his Battle City Tournament.
I've already had my background chapter ready for Seasons 2-5. To the one who has thought that Paige should have Arkana's Dark Magician, I want you to know that you are very lucky that I have that card in my actual deck. I want everyone to know that when I write season 5 (I really do mean when I write it), how I see Atem when he enters the world of his memories, there will be a couple of major surprises. I can't tell you what those surprises will be because they are still in development and I'm bouncing around some ideas with a couple of my friends so that I can make it the best part of season 5.
If anyone, and I mean anyone tries to rush me while writing this fanfic or any of my other fanfics, all written chapters will be delayed for a week. No exceptions. Leave a positive review and Happy Reading!
I DONT OWN YUGIOH AT ALL! I ONLY OWN THE OC AND HER DUELING DECK!
Shoutouts:
Somewhere, Joey was running, scared for his life as something behind him roars. "Yah Ay Yi!" babbled Joey as he runs from what seems to be the Blue Eyes White Dragon. He trips as he looks back at the dragon, then tries to escape before he touches something.
"Kaiba!" he exclaims, seeing the duelist behind him. "Call off your dragon. I give. I give!"
"Poor, scared Joey." sneered Kaiba. "He calls himself a duelist, but he's just a little puppy dog cringing in fear."
"I'm not scared of you." said Joey.
"Bad dog! Don't contradict your master!" said Kaiba, pointing to Joey.
"Grr…you're not my…" Joey starts saying but gets talked over.
"Quiet! Sit!" commanded Kaiba.
"Huh?" said Joey, seeing that he was in a dog suit.
"Sit at your master's feet, where you belong." said Kaiba as Joey whimpers like a dog at Kaiba's feet before sobbing. On the ground, Joey was sobbing in his sleep until a drop of water falls onto his face.
"Huh? Huh?!" said Joey, waking up. "A dream. Aah! Kaiba, we'll see who eats the dog chow on this island. Ahh! Everybody, wake up!"
"Joey, what's wrong?" asked Yugi.
"What is it, Joey?" asked Bakura.
"Ahh, nothing's wrong." he tells them. "It's just a brand-new day of the tournament, and I'm hot to find us a duel!"
"Well, you don't have to yell about it." said Tristan.
"Hey, guys, what's all the commotion?" asked Tea as she and Paige walked up.
"Good morning, Tea. Good morning, Paige." said Yugi.
"Did Yugi tried to kick one of you in his sleep?" asked Paige.
"No and I had a really bad nightmare that time." Yugi tells his sister.
"Still doesn't mean that you should've kicked me." replied Paige.
"Where's Mai?" Joey asked Tea. "Isn't she with you and Paige?"
"She said she had to go. And to give you this note, Yugi." said Tea, handing Yugi a note.
"Huh?" said Yugi, taking the note and reading it.
I owe you 8-star chips. See you around. Mai.
"Oh!" Yugi gasped.
"Kiss those chips good bye." said Tristan.
"I don't know." said Yugi. "Maybe we really can trust Mai."
"She did say that she owes you 8-star chips." said Paige.
"And if not, well, we're still the team supreme. Right?" asked Joey.
"Right!" said the others.
"Ok, then. Move out." said Joey.
"Hmm…"
"I wonder how many duelists there are left on the island." said Bakura.
"They shipped a couple dozen home yesterday." said Joey.
"And I bet even more have been eliminated by now." said Tea.
"And some of them were really good players with powerful cards, too." said Yugi. "We could be next."
"I doubt it, Yugi." said Paige.
"Not a chance, Yuge." said Tristan. "Those other guys just wanted prize. You, Paige and Joey have a lot more at stake."
"That's true. I've got to rescue grandpa from Pegasus, and Joey needs the prize money to help his sister."
"What am I? Chopped liver?" asked Paige.
"You're here as a package deal. Plus your my sister." said Yugi. "But the duelists we face today will be even stronger, 'cause they survive the first round."
"Even stronger?" asked Joey.
"Careful what you say, Yugi." said Tristan. "You've got little Joey here shaking in his sneakers."
"What?" growled Joey. "You think I'm a scared little puppy dog?"
"Well, if the collar fits." said Tristan, causing Tea and Paige to step in.
"All right, break it up." said Tea.
"Separate corners, you two." said Paige.
"Hey, you just bring on any duelist." said Joey. "Then I'll cream 'em."
"Right. You gotta believe in yourself, Joey." said Yugi.
"Yeah, that's right." said Joey. In the distance, a pale looking kid was staring at the group.
"'Cause nobody else does." said the kid as he and his friends laughed from their perch of rocks. "I want that one."
"If you like 'em tall, skinny and stupid, Bones, that geek wad sure fits the bill." said one of Bonz's friends who was holding a pair of binoculars.
"Oh, yeah. You'll demolish him." said the other. "So, who are they, anyway?"
"Will you just keep your shirt on, Sid?" asked the one with the binoculars. "I'm trying to see if I can get a tighter focus on them."
"I don't know who the others are, but I think the two little runts is that Yugi kid and his sister." said Sid.
"Yugi? He's the one who beat Kaiba." said the guy with the binoculars. "As for his sister, I hear she's a legend."
"Really?" asked Bones.
"We better tell the boss about this, Zigor." said Sid.
"Right on." Zigor said and the three of them took off to tell their boss.
"All right! Spit it out!" said Bandit Keith.
"We found 2 duelists." said Zigor.
"One's just a stupid git." said Sid.
"But the other one's a good duelist." Bones added. "That kid's name is Yugi, right?"
"He's the kid who beat Kaiba." said Zigor. "Everybody figures he make it all the way to Pegasus' castle."
"Yugi, huh?" asked Bandit Keith, cracking his knuckles. "Yeah, I heard of him. His sister too. He's supposed to be a tough little squirt, that is, if you believe in his reputation."
"I heard that she's the one who beat Rex Raptor in a couple duels." said Zigor.
"His sister beat Rex a few times." said Bandit Keith. "She's even turned him down for a date."
"Huh?"
"Yeah! Yeah!" said Zigor. "We never seen him or his sister duel. How do we know how good Yugi and his sister really are?"
"Right. Nobody's going to the castle 'cept us, 'cause we teamed up with the most brilliant bloomin' duelist on the whole island." said Sid.
"That's right, so if you bums wanna win this tournament you'll keep your traps shut." said Bandit Keith, removing his sunglasses. "You'll keep cool, and you'll let Bandit Keith do all your thinking for you."
"No argument from me, boss." said Zigor. "You got all the brains. I'm just the muscle."
"And we'll hammer any blinkin' duelist who gets in our way." said Sid and Bandit Keith looks over at the castle.
"You hear that, Pegasus?" he thought to himself. "Soon it'll be payback time."
[Flashback]
"Payback for the way you humiliated me at the duel monsters intercontinental championship. It had all come down to you against me, and I had you right where I wanted you."
"Any final words, mullet head?" Bandit Keith asked Pegasus.
"I was sure I was about to win, but you just scribbled some notes and called over a kid from the audience."
"Hey, what are you doing? Asking for help is illegal!" said Bandit Keith.
"I don't need help." said Pegasus as the boy takes his seat. "A child could defeat you, Bandit Keith, and I'm going to prove it."
"Just follow these instructions and you'll win." Pegasus tells the boy, handing over the paper.
"I didn't know what to make of it." thought Bandit Keith. "Were you just trying to psyche me out, or did you chicken out? Either way, it was fine by me, so long as I took home the prize money. "
"Ok, punk, beat this!" said Bandit Keith, placing down his card.
"Good card," said the boy as he reads the instructions Pegasus gave him in one hand while holding several cards in the other. "but the note says when you play that, I should play this one in attack mode." The boy plays another card with an elephant on it.
"No way!" shouted Bandit Keith.
"Uh, I think I just took all your life points." said the boy.
"What?!" screeched Bandit Keith, standing up from the chair. "You little snot-nosed brat! There is no way you could have known I was gonna play that card! Give me that!"
Bandit Keith takes the note out of the boy's hand and reads it for himself. "Huh?!" he said, shocked to see that the boy was telling the truth. "It's all here! The card I played, how to beat it, everything!"
"Huh?" said Kaiba as he sees Pegasus standing from his seat.
"Sam is the winner." said Pegasus.
"Noooo!" screamed Bandit Keith.
[Flashback ends]
"You may have defeated me, Pegasus, cheated me, but nobody makes a fool out of Bandit Keith!" he thought as he glares at the castle before turns back to his cronies. "Now, you said you found 2 duelists? Maybe 3?"
"Yeah, Yugi, his sister Paige and some dweeb named Joey." said Zigor.
"Good. We'll take out the dweeb first." said Bandit Keith, getting an evil chuckle from his cronies.
"Did you hear that?" Joey asked. "I think we're being followed."
"I didn't hear anything." said Paige.
"I think that you're getting a little paranoid, Joey." said Tea.
"You've been acting hyper ever since you woke up this morning." said Tristan. "Man, what the heck is eating you, anyway?"
"I'm telling you; somebody is stalking us!" said Joey, shuddering before running off.
"Where are you going?" asked Tristan.
"To stalk them." Joey said over his shoulder as he ran. From a distance, Sid and Zigor chortled as they watched Joey.
"Boss, uh, where are we headed?" asked Bones as he and Bandit Keith were inside a cave.
"To a hidden arena." said Bandit Keith.
"In a c-cave?" Bones asked as bats screeched overhead. "Wah!"
"You ought to feel right at home down here, Bones." said Bandit Keith, seeing the terror in Bones. "It's dark and dank and really creepy, just like you are. Your deck, uh, you did load it up mostly with zombie cards, didn't you?"
"Uh, yeah." said Bones.
"Let me see what you got there." said Bandit Keith, holding out his hand. Bats squeaked as Bandit Keith went through the deck.
"Good, but I think you could use a little more brute force." Bandit Keith tells Bones.
"But where could I find…." Bones started to ask.
"Don't you worry, kid." said Bandit Keith, then opens his vest, showing a whole lot of decks on his person. "I got all the power you need right here to build the strongest zombie deck in duel monsters history."
Soon after building what seemed to be the strongest deck in history, Bones and Bandit Keith were ready. "It's time we moved onto the graveyard." said Bandit Keith.
"The graveyard?" asked Bones, quaking as he looks over his shoulder.
"It's a perfect arena for you, Bones." said Bandit Keith. "And with all these new zombie cards, you just can't lose."
"Huh, thanks, boss." said Bones. "And you can bet that I won't let you down."
"You better not, or you're gonna find yourself in a world of hurt." said Bandit Keith. "You wouldn't want that now, would you?" He then shoves Bones to the ground, causing him to freak out by the dead skulls in front of him.
"What are you afraid of?" asked Bandit Keith as Bones throws up a skull. "Some musty old skull?"
"Y-Y-Yeah." said Bones.
"Give me a break. Your face is scarier than this old thing." said Bandit Keith, then tosses it aside. "Blah!"
"Huh?" said Bones. "Oh, uh, boss, wait for me!" Outside of the cave, Joey was washing his hands at a stream.
"Maybe Tea was right." said Joey. "I guess all I heard was the waterfall. Huh?"
Joey looks behind him and sees Zigor. "Can I help you?" he asked, causing Zigor to laugh.
"Wake up, dweeb." said Zigor, laughing as Joey opens his eyes.
"Wha….you!" shouted Joey, then sees that he was brought to a cave. "What? Where am I?"
"Heh heh heh heh. The boss wants you." said Zigor.
"Oh! Wha…" said Joey as his side of the arena activated. "Wah! What is this place?" Bandit Keith laughs at Joey.
"Gah! A tombstone?" Joey exclaimed, freaked out.
"Wooooh!" said Bones as he appears in the arena. "Welcome, duelist, to the arena of lost souls." Joey screams as he backs up a bit.
"Abandon hope, for no duelist gets out of here alive." Bones tells him.
"Help! A ghost!" screamed Joey. Outside of the cave, Yugi and the others were worried about Joey.
"Joey's been gone an awfully long time." said Yugi.
"He's been gone for at least half an hour, maybe 45 minutes." said Paige, looking down at her watch.
"You don't suppose he got lost?" asked Tea.
"No way." said Yugi. "But he could have been challenged to a duel."
"I bet that's it." said Tristan. "I must have got on his case a little too hard about being scared, so now he's gone off to fight a duel all by himself."
"Ok, lets split up and try to find him." suggested Bakura.
"Right. Yugi, Paige and Tea, you head that way." Tristan said, pointing in one direction of the island before pointing in another. "Bakura and I will go this way."
"Ok!" said the others and takes off to find Joey.
"Prepare for your final duel." Bones said to Joey. "This arena will be your graveyard."
"Ooh, spooky." said Zigor.
"Spot on, mate." said Sid. "He's got the dweeb scared stiff."
"I don't believe it." said Zigor. "Looks like the guy fainted on his feet." Across the graveyard, Joey was staring off in space, scared stiff.
"Yeah, so do something, Zigor." said Bandit Keith, facing him. "Get busy and wake him up!"
"You heard him, dweeb." said Zigor, picking up a skull and throws it at Joey's head, making contact. "Rise and shine."
"Ha ha! The ghosts of the dead are all around you, Joey." said Bones. "There's no way to escape from your fear."
"Huh?" said Joey, rubbing his head as he looks up. "Who says I'm scared?"
"You can't hide the truth from the spirits, Joey." Bones tells him. "Wah! They see you frozen in fear.
"Ok, I was afraid, but not 'cause of the graveyard or your ooga booga rap." Joey admitted. "It's your creepy face that gave me the willies."
"You have to admit he's got a point, Bones." said Bandit Keith, laughing.
"Yeah, you even spook me out, Bones." said Zigor, chortling. "And I'm on your side."
"Well, if you're on my side, then stop laughing at me!" Bones shouted at them, then turns back to face Joey. "So, are we gonna duel or just stand around talking? Lay down your star chips now."
"Grr. Hey, I never even agreed to this duel." said Joey.
"Tough luck." said Bandit Keith. "You haven't any choice, dweeb." Joey growls at the duelist.
"There has to be some way out of this." Joey said to himself.
"Huh? You want a way out?" Bandit Keith asked, mocking Joey. "Well, hand over all your star chips and crawl out like a scared little puppy dog."
"Bad doggie!" shouted Sid as he and Zigor laughs.
"Puppy dog?" questioned Joey.
[Flashback]
"Sit at your master's feet where you belong." said Kaiba as the Blue Eyes White Dragon roars from behind him.
[Flashback ends]
"If I run from this, I really will be a scared little puppy dog." said Joey. "So, I'll just have to beat you! 4-star chips!" He then places the star chips down.
"Ha! Nice going, boss." said Zigor. "He fell for it."
"Let's duel!"
"Put him away quick, Bones." Zigor called out. "Send him straight for the grave with a zombie card!"
"Yeah!" said Bones.
"A zombie card?" asked Joey. "Yikes. Now I get what he's up to."
"You don't stand a chance." said Bones. "This arena's one big graveyard field, and all my zombie cards get a field power bonus here."
"Joey!" shouted Tristan.
"Joey!" shouted Bakura.
"There's no sign of him anywhere." said Tristan.
"Hey, let's look over that way." suggested Bakura, pointing in a direction and both take off.
"Joey!" shouted Yugi as he, Paige and Tea reached the waterfall.
"Joey!" shouted Tea.
"Joey!" shouted Paige.
"He's not here." said Yugi as both girls came up behind him.
"Where could he be?" asked Tea. "If he were fighting a duel, I'm sure that we'd see the arena."
"Joey's just vanished. I'm worried, you guys." said Yugi.
"You don't think…?" asked Paige, looking at Tea and her brother.
"I hope not." said Yugi. Back in the cave, Joey growls at Bones who laughs at him.
"Here goes. My zombie card." said Bones, picking a monster that looked like Medusa.
"Not so fast, squirt." said Bandit Keith.
"Huh?" said Bones, looking over his shoulder.
"Hold that card for now." he tells him. "Play the card on the far left instead."
"Play the one on the left, boss?" Bones asked, looking down at his hand to see a Samurai type monster. "But that card is Zanki. Zanki's not a zombie card at all."
"You needed some raw muscle, so I slipped it into your deck, Bones." said Bandit Keith.
"But if it's not a zombie card, it won't get the field power bonus from the graveyard." said Bones.
"Don't argue with me, squirt. Just do what I tell you." said Bandit Keith.
"But…"
"Grr."
"Play the card. Bandit Keith wont steer you wrong." said Zigor with Sid nodding in agreement. "How could any of us have gotten this far without following all of his advice?"
"Yeah, right." said Sid.
"What is this, dueling by committee?" Joey angrily asked. "Are you going to play the card or aren't you?"
"Right, boss." said Bones, as Joey goes off. "Whatever you say. Zanki…in attack mode!"
Zanki, a samurai looking monster (ATTK:1500/DEF:1700) appeared on the field. "Blah!" said Zanki.
"This'll put a dent in Zanki's armor." said Joey, placing Axe Raider (ATTK:1700/DEF:1150) on the field. "Go, Axe Raider! Attack!"
"Grr!"
"Wind Blades!" shouted Joey. Axe Raider destroys Zanki with its blade, sending him to the graveyard. "All right! So much for your armored warrior."
"He wiped me out." said Bones as he life points dropped to 1,800. "Ohh…"
"Heh heh. Looks that way." said Bandit Keith.
"So, why did you make me play that lame card?" asked Bones, feeling distraught. "If that had been one of my zombie cards, I could have clobbered him!"
"Bones! Where's all your spooky chatter now, you little creep?" Joey asked arrogantly. "Play your next card. Whatever it is, I'm ready."
"Ohh…" said Bones, picking his next card. "I have to play a zombie card."
"No, not that one, Bones." said Bandit Keith. "Second card to the left."
"Huh?" Bones said again and sees a dragon card in his card hand. "The Crawling Dragon? This isn't a zombie card, either. As soon as I play it, he'll obliterate me. Just like last time."
"Look, I know you don't like it." Bandit Keith tells him as Bones looks over at him. "Just be patient, Bones. We're working on a strategy here. Remember, no duelist has ever beaten Bandit Keith without cheatin'."
"Yeah, until now." said Bones, placing the card face down. "Defense mode."
"Running from me already, Skull Face?" taunted Joey. "You're not so scary after all, huh? Go, Axe Raider!" Out on the field, Axe Raider attacks the Crawling Dragon. "Slice 'em and dice 'em!"
"Ohh!" said Bones as the Crawling Dragon was sent to the graveyard.
"I win!" crowed Joey.
"Now play the card that's on the far right." suggested Bandit Keith, popping up behind Bones.
"Rrr!" said a scared Bones.
"You heard me. And don't use defense mode this time." said Bandit Keith. "If the dweeb can't see your monster, he might just hesitate and wait to attack."
"Ohh…." groaned Bones.
"If you don't want to trust me, Bones, I'll keep my advice to myself." Bandit Keith said. "It's up to you."
"Um…" said Bones as he draws another card from his deck. "Crass Clown…in attack mode." A clown holding what looked like to be a baton (ATTK:1350/DEF:1400) came out onto the field, laughing.
"Is that the best you've got?" asked Joey, placing his next monster on the field. "Flame Swordsman!" The Flame Swordsman, with its sword aimed at the clown and an attack strength of 1800 appeared on Joey's side of the field.
"Let's duel." said Bones and Joey. The Crass Clown goes for Joey's Flame Swordsman.
"Flaming Sword of Battle!" shouted Joey and the Flame Swordsman attacks the Crass Clown. "Too bad. One Crass Clown going down."
"Uhh, Uhh…" said Bones as his life points drops again to 1,350.
"Creep show is scared." thought Joey. "I got him on the run, and I plan to keep him that way. There's way too much riding on this duel for me to blow it. My sister Serenity's counting on me. So, watch out, Skull Face! You better be scared, 'cause this little puppy dog is gonna chase your bony butt right out of your own graveyard."
"Now what?" Bones asked Bandit Keith.
"Just relax." said Bandit Keith. "You've already got this duel won, Bones."
"What's the problem, Bones?" asked Joey. "Can't fight this duel on your own? Maybe your coach wants to take me on. I'll cream him too."
"Oh, yeah?" Bandit Keith asked. "Looks like you need a lesson in strategy, dweeb."
"Huh?" said Joey as Bones draws another card and to his surprise, knew it would help.
"Oh! Wow." said Bones, looking back at Bandit Keith. "I had totally forgotten about this magic card, boss. Now I understand."
"Lay it down, Bones! Play your trump card!" said Bandit Keith.
"You're finished!" shouted Bones. "This magic card is unstoppable! The Call of the Haunted!"
"The Call of the Haunted?" asked Joey.
"It brings all the monsters you destroy back from the grave." explained Bandit Keith.
"But they come back as zombies, with the power of immortality!" said Bones. Out on the field, the ground starts to break up and reveals the monsters Joey destroyed.
"Oh, no! Oh, no!" said a frightened Joey. Outside of the cave, Tea found something on the ground.
"Tristan, look." said Tea, picking up the object.
"Hey, that's Joey's wallet." said Tristan.
"With a picture of his sister, Serenity." Tea added.
"Joey would never be careless enough to lose that." said Tristan. "His sister means more to him than anything. This is starting to smell like foul play."
"Look over there!" said Tea.
"A cave. I don't like the look of this." said Tristan.
"Neither do we." said Yugi and Paige as they and Bakura ran after Tristan and Tea to the cave.
"What is this place?" asked Tristan.
"Be careful." said Yugi. "It could be some kind of trap."
"What's up with those creepy coffins?" asked Tea.
"And why are they upright?" asked Paige.
"Beats me. Who'd leave them just standing here?" asked Bakura as he touches one of the coffins.
"Yeah." said Tea.
"I wouldn't touch those, guys." said Yugi.
"Be careful." said Tristan.
"Don't be silly. It's just a wooden b…uh…." said Tea before the coffin she was touching became fully upright. The doors of both coffins fall off, revealing a skeleton inside. Both Skeletons fall on Bakura and Tea, causing them to scream and freak out.
"AAH!" screamed Tea.
"Oh, dear! Ohh!" screamed Bakura. Both of them ran around each other with the skeletons on them.
"Got it!" shouted Tristan as he punches the skeleton off of Bakura as Yugi and Paige get the one off of Tea. "That Pegasus has sure got a sick sense of humor."
"You said it, Tristan." said Yugi.
"I'm guessing that it's his cry for help." said Paige.
"Yeah, a lot of help." said Tea.
"Grr…" said the Crawl Dragon as it and the others came back from the grave.
"Your monsters are back." said Joey, shocked as Bones laughed.
"Call of the Haunted brought all of them back from the grave, and they're zombies now." said Bones.
"They're zombies?" Joey asked.
"And as zombies, they all gain a field power bonus from this graveyard field." Bones tells Joey as the monsters on his side of the field had an increase in their attack points. "Dragon Zombie, attack the Axe Raider!"
"Axe Raider, bash that lizard!" shouted Joey. After getting hit by the axe, the dragon came back together.
"Oh, no. Direct hit, and the zombie dragon recovered." said Joey. Bandit Keith laughs at Joey's misfortune.
"They're zombies now, dweeb." said Bandit Keith. "You can't destroy them with an axe."
"Wha…? Oh, no!" Joey exclaimed.
"Ha ha ha ha ha! Oh, yes, Dragon Zombie!" screeched Bones. "Destroy Axe Raider! Deadly Zombie Breath!"
Dragon Zombie sends its attack at Axe Raider. "No!" shouted Joey as Axe Raider gets destroyed.
"One down and one to go." said Bones, causing Joey to look at his other monster. "Now your puny Swordsman is outnumbered 3 to 1."
"Oh man, now what am I going to do?" Joey asked himself. "Nothing can kill those monsters. Uhhh…I blew it. I'm dead meat."
