To all my readers-This is the first time that I'm going to do Yugioh without making any character name changes. I want you all to know that my OC Paige Muto is related to Yugi and her looks are based on him. So, think of Paige as a feminine Yugi and Atem. Before anyone asks, yes, I will be doing all 5 seasons of Yugioh and that includes Capsule monsters as well. I was once asked if Paige would be dueling and yes, she will. You won't be able to see her duel until season 2 when Kaiba starts his Battle City Tournament.
I've already had my background chapter ready for Seasons 2-5. To the one who has thought that Paige should have Arkana's Dark Magician, I want you to know that you are very lucky that I have that card in my actual deck. I want everyone to know that when I write season 5 (I really do mean when I write it), how I see Atem when he enters the world of his memories, there will be a couple of major surprises. I can't tell you what those surprises will be because they are still in development and I'm bouncing around some ideas with a couple of my friends so that I can make it the best part of season 5.
If anyone, and I mean anyone tries to rush me while writing this fanfic or any of my other fanfics, all written chapters will be delayed for a week. No exceptions. Leave a positive review and Happy Reading!
I DONT OWN YUGIOH AT ALL! I ONLY OWN THE OC AND HER DUELING DECK!
Shoutouts:
Guest-I haven't gotten that far yet. Right now, you really and truly are getting ahead of me, writing wise. That needs to stop, big time because its starting to annoy me. I dont even know at this exact moment if she will stay behind and protect her brother, Joey and Mokuba while they're in the video game or joins them to save Kaiba.
Finally in Pegasus' castle, everyone were now eating something. "Gimme seconds of that cheese." said Joey.
"Yeah, and that ham." said Tristan.
"And that weird jelly cake-looking thing." said Joey.
"If this was a duel muncher's competition, you two would win." said Tea.
"Yeah! Where are your manners?" asked Paige.
"On behalf of Mr. Maximillion Pegasus, I'd like to congratulate the four finalists and welcome them to this final phase of the duelist kingdom competition." said Croquet. "I trust you all have your playoff entry cards."
"Huh?" they all asked.
"What playoff entry cards?" asked Paige.
"In your invitation to the duelist kingdom, you received these two cards." explained Croquet, revealing the cards. "Glory of the King's hand and Glory of the King's opposite hand. You must have one of these to participate in the final tournament. Those without them are disqualified."
"So that's what they're for." said Yugi.
"That answers my question." said Paige.
"Each card provides unique prizes. The Glory of the King's hand is needed to claim the three-million-dollar cash prize. The opposite hand card allows the winner to challenge Pegasus for the championship." said Croquet.
"Aah!" shouted Joey. "Now he tells me. I don't have either one."
"Of the millions of cards I own, I run across the two that I don't." thought Bandit Keith. "I have to get me one."
"To make tomorrow's tournament interesting, your host has added a special ingredient to your soup." said Croquet as everyone looked down at their soup.
"Huh?" they said as something floats to the top.
"Wahh!"
"Ohh!"
"Ohh! Its staring at me." said Tea.
"Hey, mine's eyeball-free." said Tristan, stirring his soup.
"That's because the man said four finalists, not eight." said Paige, pushing her soup away. "Now I've lost my appetite for soup."
"Hey, this is worse than having a fly in my soup." said Joey.
"Open up the eye and look inside it, if you will." Croquet instructed.
"Huh?" said Joey as they all opened the eye.
"Each of you has been given randomly assigned a letter." he said.
"Hmm." said Mai as Yugi gasps.
"Whats this for?" asked Yugi, staring at the letter 'A'.
"Hmm?" Mai asked, showing the letter 'B'.
"Hmm." Joey said as he gets assigned the letter 'D' while Bandit Keith held up 'C'.
"And now the island's computer will pair up the letters to determine tomorrow's duel match-ups." said Croquet as a screen behind him was lowered.
"Gee, I wonder who's going to have to face who?" asked Tea.
"Good. Once I know who I'm dueling, I can use tonight to prepare." thought Mai.
"It doesn't matter who I'm up against if I don't have one of them glory cards." thought Joey with his hands against his head.
"Ha!" scoffed Bandit Keith.
"And tomorrow's duels are as follows…" said Croquet as both duels appeared on the screen. "A versus B. C versus D."
"Who has C?" asked Joey as Bandit Keith laughed. "Huh?"
"Me, runt." he said to Joey.
"All right." Joey exclaimed. "Its payback for trapping us in that cave. You almost gave Paige a panic attack."
"Oh boy. Here we go." said Paige as Yugi and Tea giggled at her.
"Once I crush you, you'll wish you were still in that cave." said Bandit Keith, causing Joey to growl at him.
"Looks like its just you and me, Mai." said Yugi.
"I'm looking forward to this duel." replied Mai.
"Yeah. Me, too, and may the best duelist win." said Yugi.
"Hmm." she said.
"The duels are set." said Croquet. "Yugi Muto versus Mai Valentine, and Bandit Keith versus Joey Wheeler. Please enjoy the rest of this feast because for three of you tomorrow, your long journey will end in failure."
In his room, Pegasus was sipping his wine as he smiled. "Hmm." he said, looking at the setting sun. "So it has begun. Ha ha ha ha ha."
"I'm stuffed like a sumo wrestler." said Joey, rubbing his stomach later that night.
"Ugh, that was good." said Tristan.
"I cant believe you drank the entire eyeball soup." said Tea.
"And most of everything else." added Paige as her brother walked up to Joey.
"Hey, there, Joey." said Yugi.
"Huh?" he asked.
"We better get to bed. We'll need our rest if we're gonna be in top shape for the tournament tomorrow." Yugi suggested.
"Yuge, what's the point?" Joey asked. "Since I don't have that card….huh? Wha?"
"Actually, this glory of the King's hand card is yours, Joey." said Yugi, showing him the card in his hand. "Why don't you think of it as an early birthday present?"
"Ohh! Yugi!" said Tea.
"But Yuge, you need it." said Joey.
"No he doesn't, Joey." said Paige, gaining the blonde's attention.
"Huh?"
"You're forgetting the other card he has, Joey." Paige tells him.
"She's right as always." said Yugi, smiling at his sister who returned the smile. "The rules never said we needed both cards to compete, so we each only need one."
"Yeah…" said Joey, hesitant to take the card.
"If you give up now, who's going to save your sister?" asked Yugi. "What kind of big brother would you be if you didn't win the prize money?"
"Please say you'll take the card." said Paige.
"Yugi! Paige!" exclaimed Joey.
"And besides Joey, think about the odds." Yugi tells him, showing Joey the blank card. "If we're both in the tournament, it doubles our chances of winning the entire thing. So, take it okay?"
"Take it." said Tea.
"Okay." Joey said, giving in. "You're a real pal, Yugi. Both you and Paige."
"Huh." thought Bandit Keith.
"All this lovey-dovey stuff is making my skin crawl." said Mai, standing up from the table. "So good night, boys and girls. And catch you tomorrow, Yugi."
"Hmm." said Yugi, nodding.
"Good night, everybody." said Bakura, opening the door to his room. "Tomorrow's a big day."
"Good night!" said Paige and Tea.
"Later." said Tristan.
"Night, guys." said Yugi, opening the door to his room.
"Yugi." said Joey, getting the oldest Muto's attention.
"Hmm?"
"Huh?" said the girls.
"Listen. Thanks again for bailing me out." said Joey, grateful for what he was doing. "You're the best, pal."
"Hmm." Yugi said, smiling at Joey.
"Well, time to catch some Zs." said Joey.
"Don't snore too loud." said Tea.
"I don't snore." said Joey, unknown to them that Bandit Keith was down the hall.
"Yes you do." said Paige. "You snore like our grandpa."
"Yeah." said Tea. "You kept us up half the night at the campfire."
"Ahh…" said Yugi.
"Hmm." said Bandit Keith.
That night as the moon was high in the sky and the crickets were chirping, Yugi and Paige were looking out the window. "Well, Grandpa, I've made it this far." thought Yugi as Paige rests her head on his shoulder. "A couple of more victories, and we'll go home….together."
"Ok." Mai said to herself in her room as she goes through her deck. "I'll have to fine-tune my deck if I'm to beat Yugi….even if it takes me all night."
"Bavarian cream would hit the spot right now, glazes and crullers." Joey mumbled in his sleep. "Mmm, uhh, mmm. Gigantic Doughnut! Hmm, mmm. Uhh."
"The one night I get to sleep in a decent bed, and I'm wide awake." thought Tea when suddenly she heard a knock on the door. "Huh? Who is it? Oh! What's up, guys?"
"Trouble, Tea." said Tristan, standing at the door with Bakura.
"Tristan thinks that Pegasus cheats in all his duels." said Bakura.
"Well, he does!" said Tristan.
"Hmm." said Tea, tilting her head curiously. "No! You really think he beat Kaiba this morning by cheating?"
"Yeah! I mean, Kaiba's one of the world's top duelists, but Pegasus beat him like he was an amateur." Tristan explained.
"That's true." Tea agreed.
"No one can beat Kaiba that easily, at least not playing fair and square." added Tristan, then stares at the table. "The way he was dueling, it seemed like he knew what cards were in Kaiba's hand the entire time. I'm telling you the truth. Pegasus is as bogus as a 3-dollar bill. He's a punk. You can't trust that guy."
"Even if you're right about Pegasus, what can we do, Tristan?" asked Tea.
"Plenty." he answered. "We'll find out how Pegasus cheated. There has to be some clue down at the Dueling platform. We'll expose Pegasus for the fraud that he is."
"With all the guards everywhere, we'll need help from Yugi, Paige and Joey." reminded Bakura.
"No. Yugi and Joey need to rest for the tournament. Paige needs to be there to cheer them on while we do this." said Tristan. "And besides, a herd of elephants wont wake Joey. It's up to us. We have to do this all by ourselves."
"I'm with you." said Tea.
"Hmm." sighed Bakura, uneasy about this.
That night as Yugi laid in bed with Paige in the next bed, he heard his grandfather's voice calling out to him. "Yugi! Yugi!" shouted Grandpa. Yugi opened his eyes and gasped, sitting up in bed.
"Grandpa! Is that you?" asked Yugi, causing his sister to wake up.
"Who are you talking to?" Paige asked, rubbing her eyes.
"I heard Grandpa's voice." said Yugi.
"Yugi, I must speak with you and Paige." said Grandpa as Paige's eyes went wide.
"Grandpa, where are you?" Yugi called out.
"Follow my voice." said Grandpa.
"Come on." said Yugi as both Muto siblings got out of bed. At the arena, Tristan and Bakura were searching both sides while Tea watched from the wings.
"Keep searching, guys." said Tristan. "There has to be a hidden camera or something."
"Maybe Pegasus isn't a cheater. He could be good at guessing cards, like a psychic or something." said Tea.
"I once spoke to a psychic." Tristan said to Tea. "The lady said I'll have a nice girlfriend within 6 months. Its been a year, not a single date. I don't believe in psychic powers."
As clouds cleared from the moon, its rays shined on Tristan's back, catching Tea's attention. "Huh?" she said.
"What's wrong, Tea?" asked Bakura.
"Look." she said, pointing to the moon beam on Tristan's back.
"Tristan, your back." said Bakura.
"Hmm? Something on my back?" Tristan asked, looking up as Tea joins him and Bakura on the platform. "Huh?"
"Isn't that strange?" asked Tea.
"How can moonlight enter this room?" questioned Bakura.
"Tristan…." said Tea.
"Huh?"
"Go stand on the dueling platform and pretend to hold a card up, just like your dueling." said Tea.
"Sure." he said, doing what Tea suggested, walking over to the platform. Climbing up the stone wall, Tristan looked out to see a tower in the distance.
"What do you see?" asked Bakura, calling out to him from the ground.
"There's a tower right across the courtyard." said Tristan, then looked down. "And isn't it convenient that the window faces in this exact direction? It'd be a piece of cake for one of Pegasus' goons to hide in the tower with a telescope and spy on Kaiba's hand. Hmm. Then the goon replays Kaiba's cards."
"Pegasus could be hiding a receiver under his hair." said Tea.
"Good thinking, Sherlock." joked Tristan. "There's bound to be tons of proof hidden in that tower. Let's get over there right now."
"Aah, what about the guards?" Bakura asked as Tristan jumps down.
"You'll be safe with me." he tells him.
"Grandpa!" shouted Yugi and Paige as they ran out of the room.
"Yugi! Paige!" Grandpa called out. "Beware of Pegasus. You must stop him, or he could destroy the entire world."
"Pegasus?" asked Yugi.
"How?" asked Paige as they ran followed their grandfather's voice.
"Yugi! Paige!" shouted Grandpa.
"We're coming, Grandpa!" said the siblings as they ran down the hallway.
"Oh, this castle's like a maze." said Tea as she as the two boys walked down a stone corridor.
"Shh. Keep it down." said Tristan. "There's goons around that corner."
"There's goons around every corner." said Bakura.
"I said, shh! This way." said Tristan.
"We're running around in circles." said Tea. "It'll be daytime before we get to the tower."
"Hey." said Tristan, seeing a rope with a hook attached to it on the wall. "Look at what I found."
"Whats that for?" asked Bakura.
"This grappling hook gives me a great idea." said Tristan.
"Harpy lady combined with Cyber shield." said Mai, placing the card over Harpy Lady. "Yugi's already familiar with this combo because of my duel with Joey. Hmm. He knows my deck almost as well as I do. If I'm to beat him, I can't rely on my same old bag of tricks."
In his room, Bandit Keith was stretched out, whistling. "Well, time to snatch me one of those special cards." thought Bandit Keith.
Running out into the courtyard, Yugi and Paige came to a stop. "Grandpa!" shouted Yugi as he and Paige looked for him. "Where are you? We can't find you!"
"Grandpa!" Paige cried out.
"Yugi! Paige!" said Grandpa's echoing voice. "Beware of Pegasus."
Yugi and Paige looked at the ground to see Grandpa trapped in a card. "Grandpa?" asked a shocked Paige.
"Pegasus wields shadow powers of incredible strength, much stronger than anyone could have imagined." said Grandpa.
"But how?" asked Yugi. "How's that possible?"
On a turret of the castle, Tristan, Tea and Bakura walks across the stone ledge about two windows. Tea starts to slip and cried out when Tristan and Bakura grabbed her hands to keep her from falling. "Huh? Hmm." said two of Pegasus' goons, wondering where the scream came from.
Pressed against the stone roof, Tristan and Bakura covered Tea's mouth to keep her from screaming again. "Ohh! Uhh!" said both boys as she pushes away their hands.
"I cant believe your plan is to enter the tower from the outside." said Tea, glaring at Tristan.
"Yep." said Tristan, brushing off her glare.
"Ohh!" groaned Tea and Bakura as they followed him.
"You wanted to avoid all the guards." Tristan said to the two. "I don't see goons up here."
"Grandpa, tell us, how can Pegasus' shadow magic still be growing in power?" asked Yugi, holding the card.
"Please, Grandpa." said Paige.
"Every soul he traps in the shadow realm increases his strength." Grandpa explained.
"Ugh! He's got to be stopped!" said Yugi.
"But how, Yugi?" Paige asked. "How can we stop him?" Suddenly, Grandpa's soul card flies out of Yugi's hand. "Aah!" shouted Grandpa.
"Huh?" said Yugi and Paige as they see three pillars in front of them.
"OOOOOHH!" screamed Grandpa as his soul card sticks to the middle pillar.
"Huh? No! Kaiba! Grandpa! Mokuba?" thought Yugi.
"This is wrong. This is terrible." said Yugi.
"Not to mention, creepy too." said Paige.
"Save me, Yugi and Paige." said Kaiba.
"Save me, Yugi and Paige." said Mokuba as brother and sister gasped in fear. Tristan throws the grappling hook towards the top of the tower and pulls hard on the rope.
"All right. Tea, take the lead, and we'll follow you." said Tristan. "That way, in case you lose your grip and fall off, one of us can catch you."
"You and Paige are next, Yugi." said Kaiba.
"He wants you both, Yugi." said Mokuba.
"Why is Pegasus after me and Paige?" asked Yugi as Paige grips onto his arm.
"Pegasus unlocked tremendous magic with his single millenium item." Grandpa tells them. "How much power do you think he will wield if he has your puzzle?"
Tristan, Tea and Bakura were climbing the roof of the tower. "Tristan, that's not the rope, that's my leg." Bakura informed him.
"Well, climb faster." said Tristan.
"Grandpa, how can Paige and I stop Pegasus?" Yugi asked.
"Just as Pegasus learned to harness the magic of his millenium eye, you must also learn to control the power of your own millenium item with Paige by your side." said Grandpa.
"My Puzzle?" asked Yugi.
"Yes, Yugi. Your millenium puzzle." said Grandpa.
"Of course. The spirit of the puzzle." whispered Paige, staring at the millenium puzzle around her brother's neck.
"But how?" asked Yugi, not hearing his sister.
"That you must discover on your own with Paige." explained Grandpa. "Whatever it takes, Pegasus must be defeated. If he wins, with his unlimited shadow powers and the magic of the millenium items, he can unleash Armageddon upon the entire world!"
Blue fired appeared in front of the pillars, causing Yugi and Paige to gasp as they took a step back. "Grandpa!" shouted Yugi.
"You can do this, Yugi and Paige! I believe in you!" said Grandpa.
"We'll do it, Grandpa." said Paige. "We'll get you, Kaiba and Mokuba free."
"We're in." said Tea, unlocking the window and jumps into the room.
"Your plans are horrible." Bakura told Tristan.
"I got you up here safe and sound, didn't I?" asked Tristan.
"Unh, hmm." Tea said, pulling back a piece of curtain.
"Hmm." said Bakura, looking around on some steps.
"Hmm." said Tristan as he knocks on some of the stones.
"Nothing, not even a telescope." said Tea.
"How can that be?" asked Tristan as Bakura looked up at a painting.
"Who do you suppose this is?" he asked Tristan and Tea, who then turned their attention to the huge painting on the wall.
"Whoa. That's a mighty big painting." said Tristan.
"Can you find a light switch?" asked Tea when suddenly the lights turned on.
"Ohh! Huh?" they said, looking behind them.
"Did you turn on the light?" Tea asked the boys.
"No." said Tristan.
"Then who did?" she fearfully asked.
"Maybe the lights are voice activated." said Tristan.
"I've seen this portrait before, in the dining hall, I think." said Tea, getting a closer look now that the lights made the room brighter.
"She must be very important to Pegasus." said Bakura.
"But I havent seen her at all since we've been in castle." said Tea. "Do you think she's Pegasus' wife…."
Steps were heard behind them when they turned around to see Pegasus standing behind them. "Isn't it past your bedtimes?" Pegasus asked, with his arms folded in front of him.
"Pegasus!" said Tea.
"How'd you find us?" asked Tristan.
"A little birdie told me." replied Pegasus. "It saw you three climbing up the walls."
"Yeah, well, we're onto you, Pegsy." said Tristan. "Listen up! You've been spying on Kaiba's cards from up here. The jig is up. Why don't you just admit it?"
"Hmm. You break into my private sanctuary through the window and accuse me of wrongdoing?" Pegasus asked. "Absolutely no one is allowed in this room, and I'm afraid you three have seen too much."
"What do you mean?" asked Tristan.
"You should've stayed in your rooms. Instead, you will now be disciplined." said Pegasus, then revealed his millenium eye, using it on Tristan, Tea and Bakura.
"Oh, what's going on?" asked Tristan as their surroundings became a little unstable.
"The floor! No!" Bakura cried out as they fell and screamed.
"Realm of Shadows, in this twilight hour, accept these souls and grant us power." Pegasus' men chanted as Tristan, Tea and Bakura woke up on the floor, somewhere in the castle. "Realm of Shadows, in this twilight hour, accept these souls and grant us power."
"Where are we?" asked Tristan.
"Do you hear chanting?" Tea asked
"…..twilight hour, accept these souls and grant us power." chanted Pegasus' men.
"Lets go check it out." said Tristan.
"But why?" asked Bakura.
"Must you always criticize my plans?" asked Tristan.
"Realm of Shadows, in this twilight hour, accept these souls and grant us power." the men chanted over and over.
"Who are these clowns?" Tristan asked as they hid behind a wall. "What do you think they're up to?"
"I don't know…" said Bakura. "But they're creeping me out."
"…accept these souls and grant us power."
"Begin!"
Just then, a stone was raised from the floor with a Blue Eyes White Dragon on it in front of the first robed man. "There's a Blue Eyes on that tablet." said Tristan.
"I don't like this. Let's get out of here." said Bakura.
"Oh, look there." said Tea, seeing the same painting from before.
"Huh?" asked the boys.
"Its that painting again." she said. "Who can she be?"
"Hm." said the other robed man, raising a tablet from the floor.
"Hey, those two look like their dueling." said Tristan as both men revealed their stone tablets to each other.
"You lose." said Pegasus as the stone tablet with the Winged Dragon, guardian of the fortress crumbled in front of his opponent, who then screamed as he was sent to the shadow realm.
Tea, Bakura and Tristan gasped, causing the attention to be turned to them. "What?" the men asked, facing the three.
"Aah." they said as Pegasus' men gathered in front of them.
"Oh no." said Bakura as Tristan groaned. Pegasus lowered his hood and stares at them intensely.
"Yugi! Paige!" said Grandpa
"Grandpa!" they shouted.
"Unlock the secret of the millenium Puzzle." Grandpa said to his grandchildren. "Only then you can defeat Pegasus."
"Yugi! Paige!" said Kaiba.
"Yugi! Paige!" said Mokuba.
"The millenium puzzle, Yugi and Paige!" shouted Grandpa as the flames rose higher in front of them.
"Grandpa!" screamed Yugi and Paige as they woke up in a sweat.
"It was all just a dream." said Yugi.
"It was so realistic." said Paige.
"Or was it?" Yugi asked as they fell back onto their beds.
"Where did that robed guy go?" asked Tristan.
"Hmm, the Shadow Realm." said Pegasus.
"Shadow Realm?" queried Tea. "Not again."
"This is how the Shadow games were played thousands of years ago." Pegasus explained. "These duel rituals release the magic of the Shadow Realm. And every soul I trap there increases the power of my millenium eye. You can't imagine the strength of my magic, but one power still eludes me: the ability to control life over death! For that magic I must capture more souls, like yours."
"Whoa!" shouted Tristan, backing up. "He's gonna send us all to the shadow realm!"
"No way!" said Tea, fearfully.
"Its not my fault." said Pegasus. "I cant simply allow you to escape after you've snooped around my castle and learned my secrets. I hope the accommodations in the shadow realm are to your liking. And, my dear, Bakura, your capture will do more than just strengthen my shadow powers, for I shall also gain control of your millenium ring."
Bakura gasps as Pegasus laughs at them. "Whats this?" gasped Pegasus as he sees the millenium ring come through Bakura's shirt.
"Ha ha ha!" Yami-Bakura laughs at Pegasus. "Change of plans."
"Can this be?" questioned Pegasus. "I sense a dark soul within your ring!"
"Aah!" Tristan and Tea cried out as they shielded their eyes from the bright light between Bakura and Pegasus.
"You may indeed sense me now, but you wont remember any of this later." said Yami-Bakura. "Erase their memories."
Back upstairs, Tristan wakes up in his room. "Oh! Oh, my head, it hurts." groaned Tristan, standing up from the bed.
"What a horrible nightmare." said Tea, sitting on her bed. "But was it a dream? It seemed so….so real. I feel like something terrible's going to happen."
"You cannot hide from me Pegasus." Yami-Bakura said to himself as his millenium ring glowed. "Your millenium eye will soon be mine. Ha ha ha ha!"
Still deep asleep, Joey didn't hear Bandit Keith enter his room. "Hmm!" thought Bandit Keith, then dig through Joey's jacket. "You snooze, you lose."
Taking the card out of Joey's jacket pocket, Bandit Keith smiled to himself. "Hey! Let go of that!" Joey shouted, causing Bandit Keith to growl as he turned around to see that he was still asleep. "That's my pizza!"
"Keep dreaming, dweeb." Bandit Keith thought, glaring at Joey. "Its game over for you."
"Oh, I've done it." said Mai, proud of her new strategy for her duel against Yugi. "This strategy is perfect. Hmm. Sorry, Yugi, but your next duel is your last."
The sun rose the next morning as Yugi and Paige sat up in bed. "That wasn't any ordinary dream." Yugi thought to himself as the siblings looked out the window. "I know Grandpa was trying to send me and Paige a message from the Shadow Realm. But what is the secret to my millenium puzzle? How do I control it? I still don't know, and I'm running out of time!"
