To all my readers-Hey everyone! I can't wait to finally finish this and start writing season 2. Cant wait to start planning! Leave a positive review and Happy Reading!
I DONT OWN YUGIOH AT ALL! I ONLY OWN THE OC AND HER DUELING DECK!
Shoutouts:
Guest-Generally you're right. You don't normally see characters like Paige swear in cartoons, anime and other kid shows because the show creators don't want children picking up swear words. But knowing that there are some adults out there who are still into anime, I chose to add a swear word. However, if you or anyone you know who is reading my latest Yugioh chapter out loud to your child (unless they are under the age of 11 and you personally don't want them to use swear words until they're halfway through 7th grade), I would recommend replacing the swear word I've used in the chapter with a different word.
"I can't believe Yugi Muto agreed to give up duel monsters forever if he loses at this new game!" said Boy #1.
"I know, especially since dungeon dice monsters is a game his opponent invented." said Boy #2. "I hope Paige doesn't go on that that with her brother's opponent."
"You'll regret Duke Devlin's bet." chanted Duke's cheerleaders. "Joey lost, now he's Duke's pet. The dumbest dog you've ever met."
"Am not!" shouted Joey.
"Uh-oh! It's a rabid dog!" said Cheerleader #1.
"Guess we'll have to get him a muzzle." they said, glaring at Joey.
"Huh? No, no, no." Joey pleaded, trying to appease Duke's cheerleaders. "That wont be necessary, girls. Why don't you all just go back to cheerin' for your little Dukey over there? Here, I'll even stat you off. Uh, Duke, Duke, he's so great, make no mistake, better than cake….."
"Man, I can't wait till Yugi wins this and gets Joey out of that stupid dog suit Duke Devlin's making him wear." said Tristan. "That guy's a real jerk."
"Yeah, Duke's all about humiliating his opponents, especially Yugi." said Tea as Duke watches and listens to the three. "Why else would he wanna beat him in a game broadcast around the world?"
"He's sure on a vendetta." said Tristan.
"Its not fair." Tea tells Tristan and Paige. "He blames Yugi for everything. His game not taking off, losing Pegasus as his business partner. It's just wrong."
"That's what I've been saying, you guys." said Paige. "You can't blame someone for another person not contacting you right away after hosting a huge dueling tournament. I know that I wouldn't."
"Yuge! Come on, buddy!" Joey cried out. "You just gotta win this match so you can get me out of this flea bag costume and Paige wont have to go on a date with Devlin before I completely lose it."
"Down, boy!" shouted Duke's cheerleaders, knocking him down to keep him from whining any further. "Bad…..Dog! Bad!"
"I'm….not…a dog!" Joey tells them, only for Duke's cheerleaders to tease him. "I wish I could just play dead."
"B-A-D! D-O-G!" chanted the cheerleaders.
"Man, those cheerleaders sure know how to yank Joey's chain." said Tristan.
"At least its too early for me to do it." said Paige.
"Yeah. Well, at least they havent reduce him to howling yet." commented Tea when suddenly Joey finally starts howling. "I'm not housebreaking him."
"Don't worry, Tea…." groaned Paige, hanging her head. "I'll housebreak Joey."
"Duke's monsters have already taken out one of my 3 heart points, and unless I do something right here, they'll take out another." said Yugi. Yami knew that Yugi was right as he turns to get three more dice. "I have to make this turn count. But I think I just found what I needed to know."
"Go, dice roll!" shouted Yami, rolling his die.
"Come on!" Yugi said, pleading with the dice. "I need to get some magic crests here. Otherwise I might not be able to get Joey his freedom back and Paige would have to go on a date with Devlin."
As one dice stops rolling, it shows what the both of them needed. "There's one!" said Yugi as another dice stops. "There's another." The third dice comes to a stop. "2 out of 3! Great!"
"It appears that I've rolled 2 magic crests, Duke." said Yami. "But since both have times two multiplier emblems, each of their values are doubled, giving me four magic crests, more than enough to activate Thunder Ball's special ability."
"Not bad." said Duke. "You've even learned how to use your help screen to find out how to activate the monster's special abilities."
"That's right." said Yami. "Now I'll use three of the crests I rolled and activate Thunder Ball's special attack." Thunder Ball withdraws its arms and legs. "Go, Rolling Crush! Your Blast Lizard is about to be bowled over."
Thunder Ball rolls over to Blast Lizard and crushes him flat. "But my attack will not end there." Yami said. "I'll use up 3 more magic crests I saved in my crest pool and have Thunder ball strike again. Thunder Ball, attack Gator Dragon!"
Thunder Ball rolls towards Gator Dragon, knocking it out. "He nailed him!" Joey cried out, gleefully. "Way to pick up the spare, Yuge!"
"Dukey!" cried two of his cheerleaders as they hugged each other.
"Great job!" said Joey, holding a sign with a hand drawn sketch of Duke with his face crossed out, showing his dislike.
"Ok, Duke. Now we have a game." said Yami.
"Hey, cool! Let me see! Come on!" said a man in the crowd when Grandpa walks up.
"Hmm. That new store certainly has a crowd today." he said. "I wonder just what my competition is up to. Hmm." Grandpa walks over and takes a look. "Excuse me. Age before beauty. Coming through."
"Hey! What are you doing?"
"Hmm? Oh!" Grandpa looks at the TV screens to see Duke's cheerleaders cheering him on. "Marvelous! Splendid! Beautiful, even!" Grandpa commented. "I'm in love! Oh, what I wouldn't give for a TV of this size! I wonder if it's in the budget and if it is, my granddaughter should let me get one!"
Just then, Grandpa sees a familiar teenager in a costume. "Hmm? Is that….Joey?" Grandpa asked himself, seeing Joey in a dog costume, then sees the others. "Tea? Paige? Yugi? Its not enough they take my business, but my grandchildren, too?"
"Hey! Down in front!" shouted a man in the crowd.
"We can't see!"
"Huh?"
"No one's here to watch the back of your head, dude." said the man.
"Move it or lose it, Popsy." said another man.
"Ohh….." Grandpa groaned as he tried to make himself smaller.
"Not bad, Yugi. You used that help screen to come up with a very impressive move there." said Duke. "But still, I wouldn't get any ideas winning this match. You'll never know dice monsters as well as I do. After all, I'm the guy who invented the game."
"That's true, just like your idol Pegasus invented the duel monsters card game." said Yami. "But inventing a game doesn't mean that you cant be beaten at it, Devlin. But perhaps my beating Pegasus was the exception to the rule. Perhaps you are better."
"Ah. Why, thank you." said Duke. "Huh? Hey, wait, you only beat Pegasus by cheating. Don't try and fool me."
"No, Duke, you're only fooling yourself." said Yami.
"Yeah, right, cheat." Duke growled at him as the next three dice came through. "Go, dice roll! Nice. I'll save those in my crest pool."
"Now it's my turn, Duke. Go, dice roll!" shouted Yami.
"Way to go, Yugi!" shouted Tea.
"Go, Yugi!" shouted Paige.
"Excellent! 2 summons and a movement crest!" Yami said, looking at the dice in front of him. "Dimension the dice! Now, behold, the monster that I've unlocked."
"Please let it be Dark Magician or Athena. Please let it be Dark Magician or Athena." muttered Paige as she crossed her fingers and closed her eyes while the dice unfolds.
"I've summoned the Knight of Twin Swords." said Yami.
"Its better than nothing." said Paige as she opens her eyes.
"Maybe on his next roll." said Tea.
"For all the good it'll do ya." said Duke. "None of my monsters are withing striking distance of him."
"That's why I'll store my other die in my crest pool for now." Yami tells him.
"So, at least you've become skilled at conserving your crests." Duke said, trying to get a rise out of Yami. "It's about time."
"Man, crest this, crest that." said Joey as his sign now hold a question mark. "I'm totally lost."
"Guess its true." Duke said. "You really cant teach an old dog new tricks." Joey turns around and growls at him in anger. "Come on, dog boy. Its dungeon dice rules number 1. You're allowed to take the crests you rolled, store them in your crest pool, and then use them later on."
"Oh, yeah, I remember that rule now." said Joey.
"Concentrate on dog rules!" said Cheerleader #1
"If you're gonna learn, learn how to obey our commands." said cheerleader #3.
"Right. Now, sit, dog boy!" said cheerleader #2.
"Aw!" Joey groans as he sits, then starts whimpering.
"Boy, that's rough." said Tristan.
"It's a dog's life." said Tea.
"And its now Joey's." said Paige.
"Hmm. There Yugi goes again, scouring that help screen." Duke thought as he watches Yami look through the screen. "He's certainly a quick study, I'll give him that. Some of the things he's learned in minutes took me weeks to come up with. I'll just have to take things up a notch. And I have just the dice to do it with, too. My turn now! Go, dice roll! All right! A pair of summoning crests! Dimension the dice and unlock my creature!"
Out on the field, the dice unfolds. "Now, here's a monster your knight will definitely wanna steer clear of: The Battle Ox!" said Duke as the dice reveals his monster. "But then you may have a hard time avoiding him once I use these 4 stored movement crests and have him charge in for an attack."
Battle Ox starts moving towards Knight of Twin Swords, ready for an attack. "Here he comes, Yugi, invading your turf!" Duke said, spitefully. "And you better believe this bull knows how to fight! Now, Battle Ox, go for the Knight of Twin Swords! Attack! Oh, and by the way, my Ox gains a 10 point bonus when attacking all warrior creatures, like your knight."
"Knight, quickly switch into defense mode!" shouted Yami as Battle Ox raised its axe and roared. Knight of Twin Swords follows Yami's orders and goes into defense mode. "Just in time. Sorry, Devlin, but in defense mode my Knight has a defense power of 10, meaning that your Ox's attack will only do 20 points worth of damage."
Battle Ox's axe made contact with the Knight's twin swords. "He'll lose 20 of his 30 hit points from your Ox's attack, but he'll still remain on the board." said Yami as he looks through his help screen.
"Unbelievable!" thought Duke as he growled at Yami. "That cheat has taught himself how to defend."
"Its my turn. Go, dice roll!" bellowed Yami, rolling his die. "I'm activating my Knight's special ability by using both these attack crests. Now he's allowed to attack you twice in one turn and make 2 assaults on your beast's hit points."
Duke gasps as Yami's knight fought off his Battle Ox. "Go, Double Slash Attack!" shouted Yami and Knight of Twin Swords slices Battle Ox's hit points. "Face it, Duke, your Ox has been gored."
"No! My Ox!" Duke cried out in fear as his Battle Ox disappears from the field. "That knight slaughtered him!"
"No, Dukey-Poo!" sobbed Duke's cheerleaders as they hugged each other. Joey starts howling in pride.
"Yeah!" cheered Joey.
"Way to go, Yugi!" said Tristan. "You're really on a roll now, buddy!"
"That's my favorite brother!" said Paige.
"Yugi! Great move!" said Tea.
"Your turn, Duke, but this time you might want to steer clear of my monsters." Yami tells Duke who was haunch over his panel. Out of nowhere, Duke starts chuckling maliciously. "Hmm?"
"Ok, he's losing it." said Paige as they all watched Duke laugh.
"Uh….."
"So you were able to defeat my Battle Ox, Yugi." said Duke. "So what, hah! My last brilliant move wasn't about just creating another monster. It was about building out my dungeon path."
"Your path?" questioned Yami.
"That's right. Just take a look at your dungeon path, you dune!" said Duke.
"What about it, Duke?" Yami asked.
"Hmm. I'll tell you what, Yugi." Duke said, giving it some thought. "It's been stopped dead in its tracks."
"Huh?" They all looked onto the field and see that Duke was right.
"See my red dungeon path?" Duke asked. "You see how it reaches from one side of the board all the way across to the other, creating one solid line in front of your blue path? Well, guess what, Yugi, your dungeon path can't cross it, and that means that your monsters can't get to my heart points on the other side of it. You're stuck, Yugi. You can't build your dungeon path forward anymore. You're completely boxed in."
"No!" exclaimed Yami. "He's trapped me!"
"Duke's laid out his dungeon path so it completely blocks my ability to advance!" thought Yugi.
"I'm trapped." said Yami, agreeing with Yugi's statement. Duke snickered at the look on Yami's face, seeing him squirm as he tries to figure out his next move for his path.
"What's going on here?" asked Tea as Paige glances up at the board as she quickly sketches it.
"I'm not sure I follow it myself, Tea." said Tristan.
"Oh…I'll explain it one last time." said Duke, annoyed by this. "Its simple. My red dungeon path extends from one side of the board all the way to the other. Now…since one dungeon path can't overlap another and Yugi's blue path is behind my red one, Yugi can no longer continue to build his path forward."
"But if all of Yugi's monsters are stuck behind his dungeon," Tea said as Paige tries to figure out her brother's next move. "then they cant get to Duke's heart points, and that would mean…"
"Ohhh….that I'm stuck in this costume and Paige goes on a date with Duke." said Joey, sliding down the arena wall.
"And the so called king of games over there is about to be forced into an early retirement." said Duke, then looks over at Paige. "Little Muto, you better pick out what to wear on our date."
"Oh god. Please no." said Paige.
"There's got to be some way Yugi can still win." said Tristan.
"Well, actually there is." said Duke. "Yugi could always try cruisin' his monsters through my dungeon path."
"He could move through your path?" asked Joey.
"Sure, if he doesn't mind running his monsters through a virtual gauntlet, 'cause to get to my heart points, he'll have to survive every one of my monsters that he meets on the way." Duke explained.
"Every one?" asked Tea.
"Well, then that means all his monsters would get pulverized." said Tristan.
"No joke." said Duke.
"Hmm." said Paige, taking a look at the board and looks down at her already made sketch she made on graph paper. "That's one way he could do it, other than going through Duke's dungeon path. But…."
"What's going on in that head of yours, Paige?" asked Tea, causing Yami to look over at the young girl.
"Take a look." she said, showing the brunette her sketch of the board.
"Don't tell me you color coded." Tristan chimed in, seeing it as well.
"I wanted to follow along….to see where it could possibly lead." said Paige. "You can't blame me for doing it."
"That's true." said Tea.
"No wonder you do the books at the game shop." said Tristan.
"What can I say? I'm mathematically gifted." said Paige.
"My roll now. Oh…perfect." said Duke, looking at the dice in his hands.
"Hmm." said Yami, glaring at Duke, who chuckled again.
"Just perfect." Duke said, then reveals a dice with a level 3 summoning crest. "Know what this is, Yugi?"
"Looks like a black die." answered Yami.
"A very rare black die, to be exact." said Duke. "And with it, I'm gonna finish you off and win this game. Go, dice roll!"
"Well?" asked Yami as Duke looks at the dice facing up. "What is it?"
"A pair of summons." said Duke. "Dimension the dice! Now you'll see the power of the rare black dice."
"Aw, boy…" said Joey as the black dice appears on the field and starts to unfold. "What's Yugi gonna have to contend with now?"
"Behold….." said Duke as the black dice reveals what seems to be a black hole. "the Warp Vortex."
"Warp what?" asked Yami.
"Warp Vortex. Guess I'll have to explain this now, too. The dark hole you see before you is a special summoning that only a rare black dice can produce. It's a cosmic portal. When monsters jump into it, they're sent to another place on the board instantly." Duke said, smirking a bit. "This other place is determined by wherever the second vortex is laid. That's where the monster pops out of. It takes 2 vortexes to complete the circuit, creating a warp 2. And guess what, Yugi? I've already got the second location all picked out, deep within your territory, and well behind your defenses. It's the perfect spot for easy access to your heart points. Now, Yugi, all that stands between you and defeat is the time that it takes for my Automator to spit out the next rare black die. And I have a feeling it won't be long now. So, start working on your retirement speech."
"There's not much I can do." said Yugi. "I'll just have to try and build up my defenses."
"Go, dice roll!" shouted Yami, rolling the die. "Two summons."
"Good roll, Yugi!" shouted Tea and Paige.
"Dimension the dice!" shouted Yami. "Now, Devlin, lets see how well I've learned your game. I summon the Strike Ninja! His high speed allows him to move 3 spaces for each movement crest."
"High speed, huh?" Duke said thoughtfully. "Nice try, but he doesn't come close to the warp speed that my vortex will give me. Speaking of which….check out this baby."
"What is it?" Yami asked.
"Its my second black die." said Duke.
"Uhh!"
"Now I'll roll to complete the warp tube and finish you off for good." Duke said with a smile on his face.
"Oh, no!" shouted Tea as Tristan growls and Paige glares.
"YAAAEEE!" shrieked Joey.
"Duke! Duke! Duke!" chanted the cheerleaders.
"Go, dice roll!" shouted Duke, as he rolled.
"If he summons another warp vortex, I'm finished!" said Yugi. "If Duke summons that vortex, its all over!"
"Hmm?"
"Keep the faith, Yugi!" Tea called out.
"YAAAIEEE!" Joey shrieked again.
"Do you really want me to date someone like him?" Paige asked.
"Win, Duke, Win!" chanted the cheerleaders when suddenly, Duke's dice didn't give him what he needed.
"No warp vortex." said Yami.
"Aw. You lucked out….this time." said Duke.
Joey, Tristan, Tea and Paige sighed in relief as Duke's cheerleaders slightly cried. "Your turn, Yugi." said Tea.
"Lets hope for a summoning!" said Paige, crossing her fingers. Just as the dice Automator sends out the dice, it made a beeping sound.
"What? It's a….." Yami said, shocked by the dice that came out then smiled. "Hmm. Devlin, I just found out a major hole in your plan."
"Hmm?" he asked, raising an eyebrow.
"Or, you prefer a vortex, thanks to this." said Yami.
"A Black die?" asked Duke, shocked that one came out on his end.
"Yay!"
"Yeah! Alright!" said Joey.
"You know, Paige….in some kind of way, you're Yugi's good luck charm." said Tristan.
"Don't push it, Tristan." said Paige.
"Go, dice roll!" bellowed Yami and gets a summoning. "Excellent! A pair of summoning crests." Duke leans back a bit in fear, wondering where on the board he was going to place the second vortex.
"Dimension the dice!" shouted Yami as he placed the dice on the panel. "Now I placed the second warp vortex so that I can have easy access to your heart points. Strike Ninja….jump into the warp vortex!"
"HOOH! HAHH! HOOH!" said Strike Ninja as runs towards the warp vortex.
"Look at him go!" said Joey. "That Strike Ninja is really fast! Wow!"
"No!" shouted Duke as Strike Ninja went inside. "He's gone into the warp hole! But that means…."
"That's right, Devlin!" shouted Yami as Duke looks over at his side of the field. "He'll come out on your side of the field."
"HUNHH!" shouted Strike Ninja as he appears out of the warp vortex and runs towards Duke.
"Now! Strike Ninja, attack and destroy his Ryu-Kishin." said Yami as his monster ran towards Ryu-Kishin. "Stealth Slash Attack!"
"What's going on?" Joey asked as Strike Ninja slashes Ryu-Kishin. "Nothin' happened."
Just then, Ryu-Kishin roars out in pain as it falls from the slash Strike Ninja gave him and disappears from the field. "All right!" said Yami.
"Yeah!" said Tristan, Paige and Tea.
"Yu-gi! Yu-gi!" cheered Joey.
"Our little Dukey Schnook!" said the cheerleaders.
"Duke may have blocked me from being able to extend my dungeon path to his heart points," said Yugi as Strike Ninja stood up. "but thanks to the warp vortex he placed, I now have an even better way of getting my monsters over to them. His portal became my way in."
"I cant believe Yugi got a rare black die." thought Duke. "Now he's using the warp vortex I summoned against me! And with that high speed Strike Ninja already deep in my territory, all Yugi has to do is roll one movement crest, and he'll be able to move within striking range of my heart points. I have to stop him."
"Go, dice roll!"
"I need 2 summon crests!" thought Duke, as the dice he rolled showed him something else, causing him to growl. "My roll failed me."
"Go, dice roll!" Yami shouted, rolling the dice on his turn. "Perfect! A set of movement crests. Strike Ninja, advance!"
"Oh, yeah! I love watchin' this dude run!" said Joey as Strike Ninja takes off.
"Now, Strike Ninja, attack his heart point!" shouted Yami. "Lunging Claw Thrust!"
Strike Ninja rushes at Duke's heart points before jumping up into the air and in front of Duke. "Attack….now!" He then strikes Duke's first heart point, causing it to disappear.
"No! My heart point!" screamed Duke and growls in anger.
"Ohhh…." cried Duke's cheerleaders.
"Oh, man! Ha-ha-ha!" said a happy Joey as he jumps into the air.
"That's one down!" said Tea.
"Yep, and 2 to go." said Tristan. Yami looks over at Paige who had a huge smile on her face. "Take him down, Yugi." said Paige, giving Yami a look. "Because if you lose this, guess who has to come with me and sit at a different table."
Yami nodded, giving her a thumbs up, knowing that Yugi wouldn't want her to be with Duke either. "Yes! Did you dee that?" Grandpa randomly asked the crowd, proud of his oldest grandchild. "That's my grandson."
Out of nowhere, Duke starts laughing madly. "What?" questioned Yami, confused by Duke, who continued to laugh.
"I'm sorry, Yugi." Duke said, not putting any feeling behind the apology. "Its just been so long since anyone's destroyed one of my heart points. You should really give yourself a pat on the back…..'cause I guarantee you, its not going to happen again. Hyahh! Go, dice roll!"
Out on his panel, the dice revealed a summoning. "Perfect!" said Duke. "A level-3 summoning. Dimension the dice! And unlock my undefeatable monster! I summon Orgoth the Relentless!"
Paige turns her head with wide eyes. "He's bigger than I thought he would be." she commented.
"And next I'll use 2 magic crests…." said Duke, ignoring Paige's comment. "and activate Orgoth the Relentless' special attack to raise his power from 20 to 30. And now I'll use 2 of my stored movement crest dice and position Orgoth for attack!"
Orgoth walks over to Strike Ninja, ready for anything. "Orgoth the Relentless, attack Strike Ninja! Diamond Blade Strike!" shouted Duke. Orgoth drew out his sword and raises it above his head.
"Ohhh….I'd better think fast if I want to save my ninja!" said Yugi as Yami turns to the help screen. "There! That's it!"
"Your ninja has been destroyed." said Duke as Orgoth swings his sword down.
"I wouldn't be so sure if I were you." said Yami.
"What?!" asked Duke.
"Why don't you take a closer look, Devlin?" Yami inquired.
"What? I don't see any…..huh?" Duke said as he starts to look out at the field. "No! It can't be!" As the smoke starts to clear, something had made contact with Orgoth's sword but it wasn't a monster. "There….i-in the smoke…..the Strike Ninja!"
"Sorry, Duke, but just before Orgoth the Relentless attacked, I activated my Ninja's special ability with a stored trap crest." said Yami. "It allows him to quickly dodge any attack that's waged against him and escape harm."
"I can't believe Yugi has taught himself such an advanced defense maneuver." Duke thought to himself. "He's making me look like a novice in my own game! Ohh….I can't let him rattle me. I have to remember that this kid is just a lousy cheat. He doesn't have the skills to win this match."
"Its my roll, now, Duke." said Yami as his dice showed him 3 movement crests. "And now I can attack again. Strike Ninja…..Lunging Claw Thrust!"
Strike Ninja attacks once again, attacking another one of Duke's heart points. "No! Not another one of my hearts!" Duke cried out.
"2 down now!" said Tristan as Paige and Tea laughed.
"Yeah, Yuge!" cheered Joey.
"I believe I've taken the lead now, Devlin." said Yami.
"You little wannabe!" Duke thought as he glares at Yami. "I swore I'd have my revenge on you for cheating Pegasus and sabotaging my game, and I will! Go, dice roll! Now, Orgoth, show that Ninja why you're called Relentless."
"Oh, no!" Yugi said as he and Yami looked down at their crest pool. "I don't have any more traps in my crest pool! There's no way for me to help my Ninja escape this time."
"Diamond Blade Strike!" shouted Duke as Orgoth swings its sword down once again at Strike Ninja.
"Oh, no! His Ninja's been wiped out!" exclaimed Tea.
"You were close, Yugi." Duke tells Yami. "Closer than anyone I've ever faced. But I'm afraid that close doesn't cut it in dungeon dice monsters. Sure, you may have one more heart point than me, but I have Orgoth the Relentless, and none of your monsters will stop him from getting to your heart points! You may have been on the victory trail, Yugi, but now you're at a dead end!"
Duke then starts laughing as he starts planning his victory.
