Ch 37 The Inquisitors
"Altera…Larva…" Ritsuka blinks at the Child version of his Servant, expecting the regular Altera to be here, not a Lily version of her.
Chat Noir steps forward, patting Ritsuka on the back. "So this is the Altera you were talking about, Ritsuka." The blonde Hero looks down at the young white-haired girl, "To be honest, I kinda expected someone a bit older…" He ponders out loud.
Sita ponders, looking at the Remnant of the White Titian. "I may not be in Chaldea long, but I remember from somewhere that Altera was an adult." The Archer commented,
"That's right, I can tell this is the real Altera the Hun," Ritsuka said, never once doubting himself regarding his Servants. The hair, clothing, and face truly shout Altera. "But the question is how did she become this way?"
Louis blinks, hearing the name that his fellow master called the Lily Servant. "Altera the Hun? As in Attila the Hun?" He asked the Chaldean master.
"So Altera is actually Atilla the Hun. Huh, what a small World we live in." Chat commented, already seeing Da Vinci, Machiavelli, and Emperor Nero Claudius were Female this being also a Girl isn't surprising. "Is it normal that men in History is secretly a Female revolving to this sort of thing with you?" Chat looks at Ritsuka,
"Eh, if you're doing this for long like me, then you get used to it." Ritsuka sighs,
"Gender aside, you said that Attila or Altera was an Adult the last time you saw her," Ladybug commented, receiving a nod from the Chaldean master. "Then how can de-age like this?"
Johanna was curious how a full-grown adult turns into a Child. "The only explanation I could think of is that the Eternal Empire somehow manage to use a Youth Potions." The Ruler deduced, assuming that was the case.
"How is it possible? I mean we're in a Paris where everything is Technologically advanced." Ladybug asked everyone, considering the surroundings. "I don't think there's a Magical department or something similar around here."
Ritsuka looks at Taikoubou, knowing he is a Sage. "You've been here with here for a while, can you give some insights as a Sage?" The Magus asked the Rider.
Taikoubou shook his head, not able to answer his master's question. "Unfortunately when both me and Nikitich were put into this Prison, it put us into a cryo-sleep while they try to pry information from us." The Rider smirks at the group. "Oh, don't worry. I made sure to block anything that our captors might use to pry information from our heads with Sage Arts." The Strategist stated.
"So you guys didn't see anything till we freed you," Louis said, piecing together what the Rider is saying.
"U-Um…if I may say something…" Altera Larva raised his hand like a Kindergartener in Class.
Ritsuka looks at his Servant using a timid voice, "Yes, what is it, Altera?" The Magus asked his Servant,
Altera Larva shyly looks at the group, "I-I t-think I can answer why I'm like this." The Lily Servant said,
"You do?" Everyone asked the small Servant before them.
The Saber nodded, informing them what she knows of her condition. "I-I remember after I was overpowered by an Alter Ego Servant…"
"Alter Ego of White," Sita said, knowing that Alter Ego was the go-to Servant that the Empire will use for powerful Servants.
"Y-Yes, after my short fight with him, I was taken hear unconscious." Altera Larva continued with her story. She turns to her Cell, "Soon afterward, I was taken here. I wasn't all that conscious yet, but I overheard a blonde master, and a Foreigner were talking about needing my Magical Energy for something." The Lily Servant explains,
"Hence the change in your form," Ritsuka concludes, getting what Altera explained to them.
Chat placed his claws on his chin, trying to figure out what his Cousin is planning. "Only if I know what Felix was like before then…"
Ladybug held onto his Boyfriend's shoulders, hearing his words. "Kitty, you can't blame yourself." The bluenette Hero comforts the blonde Hero. "Felix is very cunning and smart with his movements. You cannot expect to know what he's thinking or planning."
Louis nodded, looking at his Father from the Present. "That's right Dad, Uncle Felix is always astray from the Family. Especially after Great Aunt Amelie passed away, he avoided all possible contact with everyone." The blonde Boy explains,
"But I'm a bit surprised to see that Uncle Felix from your time is the Anomaly master," Louis commented, remembering their confrontation with his Uncle.
Now that Louis mentions it, Ladybug couldn't help but be interested in the Felix in the Future. "Louis, do you know what happened to your Uncle here?" The Hero of Creation asked her Son,
Louis looks at his Mother, answering her question. "Uncle Felix disappeared a few months ago." The young master informed the Hero.
"Disappeared?" Ladybug asked,
"How can someone disappear when their relatives are famous? Especially when he has the same appearance as master here." Johanna commented, looking at Chat Noir.
"I'm not sure, but we better get regroup with everyone else," Sita suggested, hearing some loud explosion far in the Prison.
Ritsuka and the others agree with the Queen of Kosala and proceed to regroup with the others.
Foray of the Prison
I was born in the Age of Gods, born to Cain the Physician of the Tuatha De Danann, and Ethliu, Daughter of Balor.
I'm known for many things when I was alive, I was a good Blacksmith, forging two Weapons. A Sword and my pride, a Golden Spear.
I have proven myself the King of the Tuatha De Danann, offering my service as a Blacksmith and many things. But the most notable was my Warrior Spirit,
Through my perseverance, I earned the respect of the King, thus granting me a place in his Court. During a difficult Battle, the King granted me to lead the Tuatha De Danann to victory and I did.
I had many adventures, my most notable one is when I slew my Grandfather, Balor. Out of many difficult Battles, this one with Balor was the top.
It took everything that I had to bring him down, eventually, I got him to his knees. I through my Spear into his eye, causing his fall, and claimed victory. Earning the Godly title of God of Light.
That is until I was Summoned to save Humanity.
I found myself in Paris, a place where Humanity is in peril. As a Divine Spirit and a God of Light, I have a duty to protect Humanity. I soon encountered some more Servants from the Counter Force and decided to join them. The first was a blue-haired Ruler, she introduce me to the others.
That is…until we encountered Alter Ego of White.
"HA!" I thrust my Spear at the White blur; however, it splits into two beings. They overpowered each of us, even me a Divine Spirit,
Fortunately, Dazai has escaped with the help of us combining our power to buy time. Eventually, we fell to the power of the Alter Ego and a blonde Servant came after.
"Very good, Alter Ego." A blonde man walks forward, grinning at the sight of fallen Servants. "Now we have an army," he grins, he poured his wine onto the ground and a flash of red appears.
Soon enough the Foreigner placed a Spell on him and the others, turning us into their Servants.
Nero leaps back, huffing from the strength the Lancer possesses.
"You surprise me, I never met anyone who's stubborn to die." Lancer twirls his Spear before dashing for the Roman Emperor.
The Roman Emperor gave a light chuckle, looking at the Divine Spirit. "Preator trusts me to defeat you," Nero stated, standing up from her knees. "As a Servant to my master, I will fulfill his request," She points her Sword at the Inquisitor.
"That goes for me too!" Sebastian Johann Bach proclaims, creating a tune as soundwaves project themselves like arrows.
The orange-haired Lancer frowns at what the Chaldean and Resistance Servant said. He swiftly dodge the formless arrows "What a foolish thing to say, and yet I admire your devotion to your master," Lancer admits before glaring at them. "In response to your claim, I shall fight for my master!"
Lancer dashed forward, ready to thrust his Golden Spear right into the chest of the Saber.
"Oh no you don't!" Johann swiftly replayed the same tune to attack the Lancer.
The Inquisitor turns around, still in pursuit of Nero. He spun his Golden Spear, creating a barrier to deflect the projectiles. He then continues his attack on the Servants of Humanity,
Nero brought up her flaming Sword, intercepting Lancer of the Eternal Empire's strike. "NGH!" She gritted her teeth at the strength the inquisitor had.
However, despite the disadvantage they have, this Nero won't waver from it. "Saber, hold on!" Johann leaps in the air, playing a hard tune on the strings.
"Tch," Lancer of the Eternal Empire swiftly disengages from his fight with Nero, dodging the arrows.
Nero watches as the Archer joins her to regroup. "I don't know why but this feels familiar like we fought together once," Johann commented, standing next to the blonde Servant.
"Umu, a sense of nostalgia came to my chest while we fought," Nero added to the Musician's statement.
Lancer shook his head, seeing the two Servants together. "I don't know why you're making a conversation during our fight but cease this!" The orange-haired Servant exclaims.
Nero laughs at what the Enemy was requesting. "Do not make such a ridiculous notion, Lancer." The Saber stated, smiling at the Enemy. "A Servant who becomes like a Machine will not understand a simple conversation like this."
"That's right, you were once a Servant of Humanity. Now you're just a puppet for an Emperor who wishes to control Humanity under his iron fist." Johann continued, glaring at the Enemy.
"Your words…" Lancer of the Eternal Empire spoke, his hair covering his eyes.
Nero felt a Divine aura coming from the Enemy Servant. "Archer, I believe he's starting his Noble Phantasm." She said, confident that Johann knows this feeling. "Be ready for whatever might come."
"Roger,"
"Ibar, Athibar, strike my opponents down!" Lighting sparks around the Golden Spear as Lancer grips it tightly.
"And return to me once pierced their hearts!" The Lancer of the Eternal Empire dashed across the foray, leaping into the air, spinning his Spear ready to aim at one of them.
"Here it comes!" Nero proclaims, using her Imperial Privilege Skill to strengthen her defense.
Johann nodded, plucking a string to boost her defensive properties.
Lancer twists his body, his Spear behind his back before thrusting it, releasing his Noble Phantasm. "Gae Assail!"
Like lighting, the Golden Spear was thrust into the air, zigzagging to confuse the Servants of Humanity. "I-It's fast," Johann stated, trying to keep up with the direction of where the Spear was heading.
The Golden Spear hurls towards the two Servants, gaining more speed by the second. Nero activates her Guts as the Golden Spear thrust into Nero's flaming Sword. "NGH!"
Nero was pushing herself, holding out from Lancer's Noble Phantasm. "Damnit! So you have Guts then," Lancer growls, seeing his Spear being blocked by the Roman Emperor.
"Heh, of course, I always place my Gut Skill before facing a Noble Phantasm!" Nero proclaims her Abilities and Skills. However, a sweat drop poured down her forehead, knowing she can't hold out forever. 'This is difficult, even though I buffed myself to Kingdom Come and support from Archer…I can't keep it up forever.' She mentally thought.
Lancer smiles at his Spear about to pierce Nero's Buffs. "Sooner or later, my Gae Assail shall pierce your defense, " The orange-haired Servant stated.
"Saber!" A voice cried out behind him,
"Hai!" A white blur dashed down in a flash, slashing away the Golden Spear from the pair.
The Golden Spear flew before in lightning-fast speed, returning to Lancer of the Eternal Empire's hands. "So you manage to free your allies," Lancer turns around, seeing the large group of People and Servants.
"That's right, you're outnumbered, Lancer of the Eternal Empire!" Louis exclaims, standing with his Parents and Ritsuka along with the Resistance behind them,
"We outnumbered a hundred so to one!" A Resistance member added,
"If you try anything, Lancer then you would regret it!" Another Resistance shouted at the Inquisitor before them. The entire group shouted at the Enemy Servant,
However, both Viperion and Moriarty notice something was off with Lancer of the Eternal Empire. "Ruler, did you notice that Lancer is up to something?" Viperion asked the former Apostle of the Alien World.
Moriarty took a quick moment to observe the Enemy before him. He turns to his master, informing him of the situation. "Master, I don't like how Lancer is calm all of a sudden." The Ruler said,
"What do you mean-"
The Lancer laughs at the threat made by the Prisoners that he once guarded. "To think that these mere Humans would threaten me, a Divine Spirit!" The orange-haired Servant exclaims, increasing his Magical Energy.
"Master, Lancer of the Eternal Empire is increasing his Magical Energy to its limits!" Moriarty exclaims, seeing this many times before.
Ladybug turns to the Ruler, hearing the concerning tone in his voice. "W-Wait, does that mean he's going to explode!?" The Hero of Creation asked, turning her attention back to the Enemy.
The Resistance members began to panic, hearing that Lancer was going to take everyone out by exploding. "W-What are we going to do!?" A young Woman asked, scared of what was to come.
"I-Is he going to take us with him? What kind of person would do something like this?" A young man panics.
Chat growls and gritted his teeth at the suicide attack Lancer will do. "Damnit, he's really going to kill himself to prevent us from escaping!" The Hero of Destruction exclaims.
Machiavelli turns to Ritsuka and the others. "Master, I have a plan to defeat Lugh,"
"Lugh? As in the Celtic God of Light of the Tuatha De Danann, the Father of Cu Chulainn?" Ritsuka asked, knowing the name from Cu Chulainn's stories about him. "No wonder he has proclaims to be a Divine Spirit."
"So he's actually a God? Great, so what's the plan?" Viperion asked, ready to prevent a mass killing.
The Caster gazes over to Nero and motions a certain white-haired Servant gone in their lineup. "I see, in that case," Ritsuka looks at Nero and Altera Larva, "Nero, Altera, stop Lugh!"
"HAI!" The two females dashed for the Divine Spirit, slashing him with their Swords at the orange-haired Servant.
Lugh responded by blocking both Sabers' attacks, "Is this your best in trying to stop me!?" The Lancer asked the Chaldean Servants. He then pushed both back, gaining room to continue with his increasing Magical Energy.
Nero and Altera stood a good distance from the overloading Lancer. "If we don't put him down then we'll have a huge mass killing." The Remnant of the White Titian said, taking note of the Magical Energy Lugh has.
"Umu, but his Divine strength is too much for us." Nero looks at her fellow Chaldean, sensing Altera was weaker than her Adult form. "Considering your state, I don't think your powers can't overwhelm him."
Altera Larva nodded, feeling her own power weaken from her original form. "Y-Yes, I-I a-agree with you, S-Saber." She looks at Mars's Sword, "M-My power isn't what it was used to. But still, I'll fight to my very end for master!"
"Theos Snipe…" A gunshot echoed in the hall; a silver bullet went through Lugh's body, blood splattered on the floor.
"GAK!" Lugh gasps, feeling his Magical Energy spilling from his body. "W-What is…" He looks up where the bullet originated, standing with Johann as Assassin of the Resistance.
In Assassin's hands was his sniper rifle, "Chaldean master, don't you have something for handling Inquisitors of the Empire!?" The white-haired Servant asked,
Ritsuka flinched, taking out another of Caster's Talisman. "Right," He readies the Talisman, activating his Magic Circuits in his legs, making a dash for the Lancer.
Lugh growls, seeing the master of Chaldea heading straight for him. "How foolish, you believe a mere Magus could kill me?" Despite having a wound, the Lancer went straight for the black-haired master.
"Ritsuka, look out!" Chat cried out, seeing the Divine Spirit charging for Humanity's final master.
"Nero, Altera!" Ritsuka called out to his Servants to assist him,
The Sabers responded to their master's request for their assistance. "Umu," Nero shouted, slashing at the Enemy Servant.
"Tch!" Lugh clicked his tongue at the Roman Emperor derailing him from attacking her master. "You think that would stop me from kill-"
Altera Larva slashed the Divine Spirit from the back when he was distracted. "Don't be so distracted, Lancer. If so, then you're open to attacks." The Saber commented, jumping back before he could thrust his Spear.
Nero struck at him like before, copying the same strategy as her fellow Saber. "HAHA! Even if you're a Divine Spirit, Lancer; you're still easily distracted!" The Roman Emperor laughs,
"GAH!" Lugh roars, his stance faulting from both the strikes from the Sabers. "Y-You can't…you can't win. I-I won't let you-ACK!" Another bullet shot through Lancer's hindleg.
Assassin reloads his sniper rifle after taking a shot at the Enemy. "Tch, he's healing." He took another shot at Lugh right where he took the first shot. "Hurry up, Chaldeans. He's healing his wounds already!" The white-haired Servant informed his Allies.
Ritsuka and his Servants heard Assassin shouting about what was happening. "I got it! Preator, prepare to jump when we jump on him!" Nero shouted as Altera went in and slashed at the orange-haired Servant,
"HA!" Altera dodged the Golden Spear before dropping Photon Ray and took hold of the Divine Spirit's arm.
"Got you," Altera Larva held onto the Lancer's arms tightly, waiting for Nero to go in.
"W-What are you…let go of me!" Lugh shouted, raising his Spear at the Remnant of Sefar.
Just before Lugh could impale the white-haired Servant when someone grabs hold of his arms. "W-What!?" The Lancer looks at who was holding his other arm.
Holding onto his arm, Nero was smirking at him. "Don't think that you can easily escape from this, Lancer!" Nero looks over to her master, "Preator, do it now!"
Ritsuka yells, throwing the Talisman at the Lancer, however, Lugh throws both Altera and Nero off the side. "HA!" He thrust his Golden Spear at the Talisman and destroyed it.
"NO!" Everyone saw the only thing that could defeat Lugh, the Celtic God of Light.
"Damnit, we're so close!" Chat cursed, seeing the chances to have the Enemy join their side slip through their fingers. He looks at the Resistance members and the Servants for any ideas on what to do next. "Ladybug, what's the plan?" He asked, knowing she was a quick thinker in these types of situations.
The bluenette Hero looks around, trying to figure out something. However, things weren't in their favor after they failed to release Lancer of the Eternal Empire from the Empire's control. She grips her yo-yo, seeing there's only one option left. "Chat, I'm going to-"
Suddenly the front building explodes, gaining the attention of everyone in the foray. Coming from the outside was a familiar face, "RANI!" Louis exclaims, seeing the Hindu Goddess of War,
Lugh turns around, sensing a powerful Divine Spirit than him. "A-A Divine Spirit Servant!?"
"AAAAAAAAAGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHH!" Kali roars, both of her Kharas were in the air.
The Lancer of the Eternal Empire promptly tried to block the attack from the Berserker. With his Divinity added, he was able to block the Hindu Goddess's attack, "Heh, is that all you got!? I can still-"
"No, it isn't!" Altera Larva took the opportunity to stab Lugh in the back, causing him to gasp,
"GAK!" The Divine Spirit lost his footing, allowing Kali to go in for her strike.
The violet-haired Servant took advantage and slashed upwards on Lugh's chest. "Enemy defeated," Kali spoke, watching as the God of Light fall back down.
Ritsuka sighs, turning to Ladybug for the final Talisman. "Ladybug, the last Talisman." He asked the Hero of Creation.
Ladybug flinched, hearing the request from the Magus. "B-But, this is for Alter Ego of White-"
Moriarty patted the bluenette Hero, indicating to proceed to advise her. "Ladybug, it doesn't matter if it's the last Talisman. It's worth the risk to gain more allies and weaken the Empire's Forces than it already is." The Ruler stated.
"He's right, having another Inquisitor on our side with be useful for information." Viperion paused, turning to Machiavelli who was standing behind him. "No offense, Machiavelli."
"It's fine, a matter of fact I was sent to Present Paris after the Inquisitors were brought once, they Manifested there." The violet-haired Caster answers before giving her input on their master's decision. "This is probably the best decision master could make. Alter Ego of White is…different than the Servants here,"
Louis and Chat Noir were confused about what the Author was saying. "What do you mean by that, Machiavelli?" Chat asked as Ladybug approached Ritsuka to hand the final Talisman to him.
Machiavelli crossed her arms, "To make it short, Alter Ego of White isn't a part of the Counter Force Servants nor originated from this Lostbelt." The Caster explains to the Father and Son, "In fact, he came from another World where he's the only inhabitant, bought in by Foreigner of London." She informed the two masters.
"Wait, he came from another World than this one!?" Chat Noir exclaims, shocked to hear that the last Inquisitor was from another World like Ritsuka and his Servants.
A bright light caught the attention of everyone, from where Ritsuka and Ladybug stood they could see a Pentagram form on the body of the former Enemy.
However, once the Pentagram disappeared, unlike Akutagawa. Lugh was still unconscious. Ritsuka and Ladybug turn to everyone, indicating that they were done freeing the Lancer. "Let's get going,"
