I hope you like de story, and that you tell me his opinions, through them I know if I'm on the right path.
Remember English is not my native language, I hope the translation is correct, check it, but sometimes I miss some incorrect personal pronouns for the phrase, sorry.
I reiterate, I do not own the characters of Friends I only rely on them for the pure pleasure of writing stories without any economic interest, and Monica and Chandler they inspire me
Chapter 2
Chandler spread the photos on his desk, and began to study them, with a magnifying glass he tried to decipher the guy's face, but the photos had been taken with a Polaroid and did not have good definition, there was something familiar, but he couldn't really identify it.
Then with the magnifying glass he began to study the photos of his father and the Bing grandparents and he could not find any resemblance between him and them, his father had very light brown hair just like the Bing grandparents, even Grandpa Alek still had his hair blonder than her grandmother Eloise's, they both had light eyes, but while his grandfather's and his fathers were rather greenish, his grandmother's eyes were dark blue, and there was no similarity in their features either.
He had never paid attention to his father's features when he was a child, and then when he began to be Helena it was impossible for him to recognize what he really is.
On the other hand, he did see some resemblance to his grandparents Tyler, his grandparents also had blonde hair, but his grandfather's nose was sharp like him, it could be clearly seen, and the color of his eyes were the same as his grandmother Berenice.
His descent from the Tyler's seemed clear, but from the Bing's he couldn't see it.
He suddenly felt worried, not only did the dates of the photos contradict his certainties, the images, the lack of coincidence in the features had ignited a flame of doubt.
He also separated the photos of him and his mother, kept everything in an envelope, he was tired, worried, but for now he didn't want to convey her doubts to Monica. The next day he would see everything again, in the sunlight, and if he was still uneasy he would talk to Monica about it.
Just the next day at work he sat by the window, through which light and sun came in, and studied the photos again. In the office he had a much more powerful magnifying glass, but he found nothing new that It will get him out of that state of uncertainty.
As for the guy who was with his mother, he couldn't clearly distinguish his features either, but something about him seemed familiar...
On Wednesday, when Monica arrived from work, she asked him for help to clear the dining room a little, since the next day they would bring the furniture and the boxes with the dishes, cutlery and glassware. -
Early Thursday the moving company brought everything properly packed, Chandler and Monica had requested the day at their respective jobs to be able to accommodate everything, Monica wanted to wash everything that was in the boxes, and that would take several hours. Chandler helped her with the children and drying plates, dishes, glasses and cutlery.
By nightfall they had arranged everything in the furniture, they were exhausted, they agreed that on Saturday they would spend hanging the pictures, on Sunday their friends would come to the barbecue at their house and Monica wanted everything to be perfect to show off the new decoration.
He had spent almost a week without being able to share his doubts with Monica; he feared that she, to avoid pain or worry, would resist seeing what he saw clearly in those photos.
On Monday when he returned from work, the babes immediately raised their smiling little arms when they saw him. They loved it when their dad picked them up, held them high or tickled their bellies. He used to spend some time with them while waiting for Monica to get home from work, but that Monday she had not gone.
After leaving the children on the play mat, she called him to have coffee together. They both loved that time as a couple that they shared every day, whether at afternoon coffee or at late dinner when Monica had a shift evening.
Chandler first went to the office and brought the envelope.
"What is that?" Monica asked.
"These are the photos that I separated for us from the mom box, there are photos of the grandparents of both families, of my parents' wedding, several of dad with me as I believed, I liked those, dad's face was always smiling, I felt like Dad really loved me," Chandler said.
"I'm glad darling that you found those photos, show them to me," Monica asked.
Chandler took out the family photos from the envelope and left the photos of the guy and his mother for later.
"Look at you, here with your grandparents, how old would you be? 3 years old, and in this other one you were already older, the photos with your dad are beautiful," said Monica enthusiastically. "Here is the one about your parents' wedding…"
"Yes, look at Dad's face in these two photos, I guess this one is from the engagement and this one is from the wedding, poor guy, he doesn't look like a happy man, more like trapped, but Mom is radiant" said Chandler.
"As you'll see, all those photos have the date they were taken on the back," he explained to Monica, who looked at the dates.
"Well now look at these photos" and he take out from the envelope the photos of a young Nora with the guy of long hair and curls.
"And who is this?" Monica asked.
"I don't know, but look at the dates on the back, they are June and July 1967," Chandler showed her.
"Yes, and what does that have to do with it?" said Monica.
"Mon, I was born on April 8, 1968, if I count nine months back I was conceived between the end of June and mid-July 1967," Chandler said, raising his eyebrows and looking seriously at Monica.
"You're really thinking what I think you're thinking…" Monica said in amazement.
"Exactly, first of all, between this photo of my parents on campus that is from June 10, 1967 to the one of the engagement on September 12, there is not a single photo of them. "Practically for a month between June and July they were not together since Mom appears during all that time on the beach with her friends and with this guy, with whom she clearly has a romantic relationship."
"Honey, maybe the date of the beach photos is not correct," Monica said softly.
"My God, mom has the same hairstyle in the one she has with my dad and in these others, and I don't think she was wrong about the date or the year."
"Chandler, you're really telling me that that guy is your father and not Helena," she spoke with a shocked face.
"Ok, look, the family photos, here is a young dad, without a wig or makeup, you have never seen him without any of that, I have some resemblance to that young man, something…, not the color of his hair, nor his eyes, he is shorter, and look at the photo of my grandparents Bing, maybe I look like one of them, use the magnifying glass"
"Honey, you don't necessarily have to look like them, I'm more like Mom's family, and Ross like Dad's."
"Exactly, now look at Grandpa Tyler, I clearly have the sharp nose and the color of Grandpa's hair and my Grandma's eyes," Chandler said agitated.
"Yes, and you also have the shape of your grandmother's mouth, your lips have a beautiful shape, that's why I like to kiss them" Monica said smiling, but Chandler didn't smile back.
"Now look at this guy, I see something familiar in him, although I don't know what it is."
"Honey, it's impossible to see anything of you in that guy, plus with that bunch of long hair with curlers that even falls in his face, I can't see any features, and even less that he seems familiar to me or that he has something of you" Monica said returning the photos.
"Chandler, this must be a date mix-up, why don't you ask your mother?"
"Because she is not going to tell me the truth, I know it, I have to go with more convincing proof" he answered.
"Chandler, we know your mother, and we know her character. If you weren't Helena's son, she would have already confronted your father during some fight, even after they were divorced, and you never knew anything about that. She don't even use it as an argument when she fights for your custody."
"Because it wasn't convenient for mom to let it be known, if she said it everyone would have found out, grandparents, friends, it would have been a scandal, and she doesn't want that kind of publicity, that's probably why she blamed the pregnancy on dad, was the boy she had been dating for a few months, both families were delighted with the courtship, both beautiful, from the same social class, high and prestigious. An unmarried pregnancy, with a guy she had met while on vacation, was not something she could tell her parents."
"Chandler, I honestly think you're going too far with this, and what can you do if you think your mother will never tell you the truth?"
"I can talk to Dad," Chandler said firmly.
"Sweet, it's crazy, you are going to involve your father in your assumption, you will only worry and hurt him, he loves you, he loves children, why cause him anxiety or pain just because of some stupid photos"
"Mon, if I talk to dad, I explain to him, I show him, we can do a DNA test and with that conclusive test, mom will have to tell me the truth, who the guy is," Chandler said heatedly.
"OK, your mother tells you who he is, and if he turns out to be a criminal, a murderer, or simply a married man with children who has no idea of your existence and you ruin his life."
"My God, Monica, you don't understand that I need to know who I really am, what my identity is, I don't care about that man, I don't even know if I want to meet him, I just want to know who he is, what his name is, I can't believe you don't understand me, don't support me..."
"Chandler, I have always supported you, because I knew what you suffered as a child and adolescent, how difficult that stage of your life was for you, but this does not make sense, knowing if Helena is your father or not, how it will change your past and what it will serve you for the future"…. "Look, if you are going to torture Helena with your doubts, don't count on me, you are not reasoning how useless that search is and the people you can hurt."
Monica went to the kitchen, and Chandler went to his office to put away the photos of him.
That night they had dinner without speaking, then Chandler went up to his bedroom to pick up a pillow and a quilt.
When Monica saw him she asked "What are you doing?"
"I'm going to sleep on the couch in the living room," he said angrily and left her.
Monica was totally dismayed; she didn't understand why Chandler had taken that topic so definitively. That quest he was embarking on could be dangerous, painful and futile, she didn't want him to suffer with the outcome.
But they were never going to go to bed angry, he was right, she had always supported him even when those totally unrealistic feelings of self-loathing invaded him, and although she didn't agree with the search, she loved him too much, she would walk that route with him, to be careful that he came out of it unharmed. -
Monica went down the stairs and entered the living room, she sat down at his waist level, and caressed him, "Chandler, please go up to the bedroom, I can't sleep without you by my side, we can't go to sleep angry, that's what we know we promised from the beginning"
"Mon, even if this seems crazy to you, I need your support, I need to know, I can't stay with this doubt for my entire life, I want to clear it up and then continue calmly with whatever turns out" … "Honey, I will never stop loving to dad, even though he is not biologically… my relationship with him was not easy for a long time, but now I know that I want him in our life, nothing is going to change by knowing the truth, and I think he will understand."
"OK, let's clear all the doubts together, I promise, now let's go to sleep"
