The mist cleared as if fleeing from Godzilla, his appearance, while mostly familiar, all the more visible with the scars and wounds across his chest and head. Some of the dorsal plates along the side facing Anna and Kristoff's direction were cracked and some parts missing (they had not seen this earlier given how close they had been after his rebirth). Though the label 'Frankenstinian' had been used for Cthulhu earlier, it crossed their minds that Godzilla also looked like something said doctor would create, and despite prior experience of Godzilla's powerful hide, he looked more fragile, as if one strike and he would literally fall apart.

I just hope Mothra's … whatever it was she did is enough Anna thought as she and Kristoff retreated a few steps as the enormous mountain of Godzilla approached wearing an expression of fury, the desire for revenge palpable.

A loud groan that seemed to come from the island rang out as Cthulhu sat up, his shoulder and part of his chest now a darkened charcoal black, wisps of smoke still smoking from the new wound. As he looked up, his face darkened like a thundercloud.

"Impossible!" Cthulhu's voice rolled out across the landscape as he shot to his feet, having to hold out his uninjured arms to steady himself. Anna and Kristoff saw him wince for a millisecond. "Impossible!" He snarled again. "How can you be here?"

A growl in reply as Godzilla halted, the distance between them roughly a mile, but more than close enough for each to see the hatred and fury they held for one another. Not all are loyal to you!

Cthulhu's eyes widened momentarily. Unless Elsa or another of her party possessed some advanced magic or method to revive him, the only way, the only possible way with the only creature he knew had such ability was …

He clenched his fists, muscles bulging, the urge to attack, to kill, to finish what he meant to do overwhelming his senses. "Then she will pay dearly for her transgression. But first, I will make sure you never rise again."

Godzilla readied himself, meeting Cthulhu's posture with his own; one foot slightly arched to the side, fists clenched, dorsal plates glowing a gentle blue glow. His tail trailed out, its end arching akin to a whip near Godzilla. Pain coursed through Godzilla's body, the aches of his wounds running deep. Yet, he stood his ground. Cthulhu had challenged him, had effectively dethroned him, but now he was going to take it back. He would deal with him, or die trying.

Rearing back, Godzilla unleashed his roar ...

SSSSSKKKKKRRRRREEEEEEEE-oooooonnnnggghhh!

… and charged towards Cthulhu, who let out a war roar and surged forward to meet his foe, both tearing through anything and everything as they went.

Elsa's eyes flicked open, seeing a clearing mist before her. The sky a mixture of blue and dark clouds, flits of lightning flashing within them.

Is this Hell?

Was that where she had been sent? After her cruel treatment of her sister, and finally giving into her rage and anger and unleashing her power on Cthulhu, had he crushed her and sent her to the abyss many a man and woman and child feared beyond comprehension would be waiting on the other side? A deep voice came from nearby, it sounded angry. She felt the breeze on her cheeks and exposed parts of her body.

Pain flared up her back, side and arms and neck, feeling like she really had been crushed by Cthulhu's foot. She could swear something was broken, or at least cracked. Her dragon form had, thankfully, cushioned most of the blows, but it still hurt like anything. It made one thing clear to her though.

If I'm in pain, then I'm alive! Part of her thought ecstatically.

She pushed herself up into a sitting position. The voice, deep and bone-chilling, yet familiar rolled out before her as the mist began to clear as if in fear of it. She saw Cthulhu stand get to his feet, wearing a look of unbridled fury. For a moment, she tensed, fearing another fight was about to take place. Had he not beaten her down enough?!

But she noticed he was looking at something behind her. And judging by the direction of his gaze, it looked to be eye-level with him? A series of heavy thuds – footfalls – she felt in the ground coming from the same direction. Turning around (Elsa felt her back crack a bit and she winced in pain) she looked.

Her eyes widened in shock and surprise, she gasped, heart doing summersaults in her chest.

H-He's alive! How?

Her mind raced. How could he be alive? What on earth did he do to survive, especially what Cthulhu had done to him? Or was she just imagining it? It was possible, but given what had just happened to Cthulhu it was also pretty unlikely, her mind just trying to rationalize what she thought was impossible.

Though she could only see his head and part of his upper body, as the mist still partly obscured him, she saw Godzilla glaring at something behind her. Her eyes widened a little when she focused on the wounds and scars across his body, some of them glowing a sky blue colour similar to his fire breath (Elsa was able to make the quick connection between this and why Cthulhu was knocked down).

The ground leapt again and, turning back, Elsa saw Cthulhu rise to his feet sporting a look of fury, his chest partially charcoal black and smoking a bit. He roared angrily at Godzilla, who readied himself, making his body appear as large as possible, standing defiant as Cthulhu prepared to attack. Elsa got to her feet, conjuring up a new dress, though her arm hurt to move, and her ribs and side felt like they had been hit by a horse head on.

From behind, she heard Godzilla growl at Cthulhu. As she turned around, she was almost thrown to the ground as said gigantic creature let out his familiar roar. The island shook as if quaking in fear of his call for battle; the air felt like it would split. The vibrations of the sound ran right through her, the familiar notion of chills running down her spine at the sound of the roar being felt once again.

Suddenly, she saw Godzilla charge, heading directly for her.

Quick as a flash, she used a powerful gust of wind to propel herself out of the way, only just missing Godzilla's foot as it slammed down on the area where she had been just a moment earlier. She watched as his mountainous form dispersed the mist that had surrounded her. Then, with a great BOOM, she was thrown to the ground once more as he and Cthulhu collided. Shockwaves ran across the ground, in some places even cracking it. Elsa panicked for a moment, thinking the ground beneath her feet was going to collapse. Thankfully, it held.
Looking up, she saw Godzilla with his hands around Cthulhu's neck, trying to choke him, whilst his opponent was pulling back on his head with one hand and pushing back by his chin on the other like he was trying to rip his head off. She heard cracking sounds, like those of gigantic bones snapping and breaking when being crushed or put under extreme pressure.

Oh God! She thought, picking herself up, unable to take her eyes off the sight before her as the two mountains fought, their battle now having moved away a couple of hundred metres, the aforementioned sounds making her feel sick to her stomach. Both were fighting not to win, but to kill.

I have to help him! She told herself resolutely.

She had failed him once. But not again. She would stand with him again (If he doesn't try to kill me too, though she reminded herself anxiously).

She rushed towards them, Godzilla the only thing on her mind now.

"Anna, are you alright?"

The Arendelle princess nodded shakily, reaching out to Kristoff as he helped her up. They had been thrown off Sven into a small ditch when Godzilla and Cthulhu had slammed into each other. As they climbed out of the ditch, they saw Elsa rushing off towards the fight, unaware of their presence (Sven trotted over after getting up, narrowly avoiding slamming into a rock).

"Oh god, she's running right into them!" Anna cried.

Kristoff cursed. "We can't go after her, Anna," he said. She gave him an exasperated look. "I know, I know." He replied hastily before she could say anything. "But if we go there, we'll get squished. We can't fight them."

Anna opened her mouth to reply, but was cut off when a loud roar caught their attention. Cthulhu, after having forced Godzilla off him, had punched his enemy in the face and now had him by the throat above the ground seemingly with no effort. The two humans and reindeer withdrew a few paces, terrified at the sight that something could actually do this to Godzilla. Then, with a swift motion that belied his size, he choke-slammed Godzilla into the ground hard enough that it appeared to make the island bounce, knocking everyone and everything within a few kilometers off their feet. Anna and Kristoff were knocked back into the ditch; Sven diving after them as a wall of dust and debris exploded out, covering their area in another wall of dust, obscuring their vision of the world and almost everything apart from what was in their immediate vicinity.

Kristoff grabbed Anna hard for reassurance and to stop her from falling backwards further into the ditch. As the dust cleared, they heard loud roars and snarls fill the air like some hellish cacophony as if said place was emerging from the bowels of the earth to take vengeance upon the living. A roar that sounded pained and angry, followed by a snarl that sent chills down their spines. A loud THUD that shook the ground a little came in unison with a short bark of pain.

"It's like a fight between gods." Kristoff muttered.

Anna could only nod as they both focused on a pair of silhouettes that gradually revealed as the dust cleared.

Cthulhu pressed his thumb into Godzilla's throat, pinning him to the ground by sitting on his body. Godzilla's own hands tried to force Cthulhu's off, but his larger enemy was too strong, and it only made Cthulhu strangle him harder. He was determined to do what he said he would do. To finish him off, by any means necessary.

"You should have perished!" Cthulhu snarled, forcing Godzilla's hand off his own and onto the ground, clutching it hard to the point where he felt it crack a little. "You do not deserve to live."

Godzilla struggled to breathe. His vision, already somewhat limited from the previous fight and sudden regeneration, began to fade. He felt pain all across his body; even his dorsal plates and tail felt like they would snap off under the extreme pressure forced onto him. His chest ached, and it felt like Cthulhu was going to rip his arm out of its socket. Yet, he did not give in. He wanted to fight back, to win, to take revenge against this foe that dared stand against him.

"I will defeat you, Godzilla!" Cthulhu spoke maliciously, even pleased somewhat at his level of sadism. "And I will enjoy making sure you do not come ba-"

Suddenly, he roared out in pain as a painfully cold sensation raced across his arm and side and he instinctively loosened his grip on Godzilla's neck. Godzilla saw this and, charging up his atomic breath, fired it point blank at Cthulhu, hitting him square in the face. The gigantic squid-faced behemoth screamed in a mixture of pain and anger and fell backwards to the ground, tearing through what little remained of the jungle and the newly formed desolate wastelands caused by the fighting. Godzilla sat up and fired another blast at Cthulhu, hitting him in the leg just to hold him down for good measure.

As he sat up, he felt something nearby. Something familiar to him. Looking down to his side, he saw a young woman with loose blonde hair, though now it was scarlet in some places, and dressed in a sparkling blue attire like ice.

Her!

Elsa retreated a few steps when Godzilla laid down before her, his face filling her peripheral vision, his glowing blue eyes locked intensely onto her. Though she had dealt with this many times before, the sheer size of his body never failed to overwhelm and intimidate her. And with the dour expression he was giving her, it made her all the more uncomfortable.

I can't blame him she told herself, hoping that he would not try to crush her or blast her with his fire. But I want him to know I didn't mean for this to happen.

She looked up, meeting his gaze. "Godzilla!" she called, quivering a little at how he might respond. "I-I know you must hate me. I-I-I don't blame you."

He responded with a growl that made her withdraw another step back in fear, swallowing hard. She felt her legs shaking, like she was going to collapse at any moment under the sheer weight of his gaze. Her hands instinctively began to swirl with ice, ready to fight back if he did lunge at her, but she knew how pointless it would be. If he wanted to, he could easily use his fire breath on her right now and that would be it.

I have to stay strong, to show him I didn't mean it.

She met his gaze once again. "Godzilla, I did it because I thought it would save you. Cthulhu tricked me, he told me you would be safe."

The gigantic Titan's expression softened a little, but remained hard and stern.

"Please, Godzilla!" Elsa pushed. "You know I would never want to hurt you! I tried to avenge you. I tried to stop him; he threatened to go after Anna and Kristoff and all of Arendelle if he thought-"

"You shouldn't have gotten involved, Elsa,"

His voice. Though serene, it was stern, even a little denigratory, scolding. Elsa could feel it. She knew she should have known better, even after everything that had happened. Godzilla had proven himself countless times that he did not want to bring them harm; he done the exact opposite for God's sake. Cthulhu had simply not done that.

"I'm sorry." She said softly, feeling hot tears brimming in her eyes. "But I want to make this right." She added firmly, standing as tall as she could go. "I want to make this choice and do this with you, like before."

His eyes averted her gaze for a brief moment, making a noise that was equivalent to a smirk on a human. Was it in mockery or admiration? She felt a little anger flare up inside her. He better not be mocking me. How could he! We've fought together before; it was dangerous, but we still pulled through.

But this time it was against something much more threatening than Kraken, or Battra, or even Megaguirus could ever be.

He looked back at her. "Your sister's obstinance has rubbed off on you more than you know."

At that, the Ice Queen gave a little titter. Well, he's not wrong there.

The ground shook as something big nearby got its feet. Looking behind Godzilla, the two saw Cthulhu stand up. His chest and part of his shoulder area near his left arm were almost charcoal black, wisps of smoke still floating from the wounds there. His leg too was bent slightly as it struggled to remain fully upright, like he had a natural limp. A cauterized wound was visible there like he had been hit with a torch. Yet, none of this dampened the frighteningly intimidating glare he was given the gigantic titan and the human queen. His eyes glowed a fiery glow, his muscular arms looking like they had doubled in size, his fists clenched so hard they shook, looking like two huge boulders from a mountain. His wings unfolded and flapped hard, throwing dust and loose debris and foliage all around.

One look at him was clear to any viewers: He would kill his enemies, and he would win.

Godzilla looked back down at Elsa, her determined expression meeting his own.

We gotta take him down! She said.

He gave a slight nod. That we will.

He stood up, turning to face Cthulhu, now clasping a large boulder half the size of Arendelle castle in his hand. He watched as his enormous foe matched his posture. Though wounded and bleeding across the neck and face, Godzilla held firm This enemy would not make him fall. He would face him head on and he would deal with him just as he had done with past enemies.

Next to him, a pillar of ice a hundred feet high rose. Atop it was Elsa, one hand swirling with ice and snow, the other crackling with that electric feeling as a set of clouds began to gather overhead.

"Oh, is this not amusing!" Cthulhu spoke, his voice booming out across the island, possibly even the world for all to hear. "The Titan and his beloved, the king and queen, standing side-by-side to face their worst enemy." A pause as he clasped the boulder tighter. "It will not suffice."

Godzilla glared at him, a deeper, more threatening growl forming in his chest as he met Cthulhu's gaze. It is just us now, enemy. One will stand, the other will fall.

Cthulhu gave a deep laugh, deep and intimidating. Then let us resolve this. You and your beloved, Godzilla.

Elsa readied herself, though internally she asked herself. What do we do if this doesn't work?

Then we make sure we win a voice in her head told her. Whatever it takes.

Lightning flared above them as the skies darkened. Loud, thunderous booms reverberated out across the land as two sides, two gods, readied for the final showdown.

The storm was about to be unleashed. All Kristoff, Anna, Elsa, Godzilla, Cthulhu and any of the others watching this could hope they would survive to its end.
