Chapter 21—Moving back in?
Phillip's POV
Charlie was not a gentleman. I was a better gentleman, and I even taught my boys better than that. I didn't like how he was treating my little girl. My little girl deserved the best of the best. Yes he wore a tie, but he did not hold the door open for Bella or pulled her chair out for her at dinner. That was already one strike against him. When I heard that he was looking into maybe social work as a profession that was strike number two. When I heard he was from south Minneapolis that was it, strike three. Don't get me wrong, I love my little girl but no woman in the Banks family ever worked. My mother was home raising me, my grandmother stayed home to raise my father. Even Seraphina stayed home to raise the kids. I didn't want my Issy to work and send my future grandchildren to day care. I knew that Bella could do so much better like the Johnstons, the Riley's, the Lamberts, and the Hollands. Hell, I would even take that dumb sack of shit Cole Pierson. I could not take it anymore, I had to get out of there. As I was hitting the punching bag I could hear my father say that Bella could do whatever she wanted Phillip. You need to be proud of her, period. I came up and apologized for my behavior that hour before. I didn't know what to think about what Charles was asking us to do. To finance finding his father. Then I heard:
"There is one other thing," Issy said.
"What is that Issy, baby?" I asked.
"I want to move back in," Issy said.
"Excuse me, what did you just say?" I asked.
"I want to move back in," Issy said again.
"Really you want to move back in?" Seraphina asked with a hopeful look to her eyes. She had been crying out for her children, nightly since the day that we, well I disowned Adam.
"Yes," Issy said.
"When?" Seraphina asked.
"As soon as possible," Issy said.
"Why?" I asked.
"Because I'm a Banks. I always have been. That's why I kept the Banks part of my last name, after Coach and Michele adopted me. And upon my 18th birthday, I want to change my name back to Banks," Issy said.
"Wow, that's great. Welcome home," Seraphina said.
"CAKE-EATER," Charles coughed.
Bella glared at him.
"Excuse me?" I asked.
"What?" Charles asked.
"What did you call my daughter?" I asked.
"I just called her a cake eater. Which is….." Charles said.
"I KNOW WHAT IT MEANS!" I yelled.
"Daddy it's okay, I know that it's all in fun," Bella said.
"NO, ISABELLA IT IS NOT IN FUN! THAT'S IT, GET THE FUCK OUT OF MY HOUSE!" I yelled.
"But Daddy," Bella said.
"NO BUTS," I yelled.
"I am sorry sir," Charles said quickly and quietly.
"It's okay, Charlie. Phillip, you need to forgive him," Seraphina said.
"NO. I WILL NOT HAVE MY DAUGHTER DATE SOMEONE WHO IS SO DISRESPECTFUL TO ME AND OUR WAY OF LIFE. GET OUT!" I yelled.
"Okay. Thanks for dinner Mrs. Banks," Charles said as he rose from the couch.
"Of course, Charlie, anytime," Seraphina said.
"Charlie?" Isabella cried.
"I will see you at school on Monday," Charles said.
Charles made his way out of the living room.
"YOU WILL NOT EVER SEE THAT BOY AGAIN, DO YOU UNDERSTAND ME. ISABELLA, I FORBID IT," I yelled.
Isabella broke down in tears.
"It's okay Isabella," Seraphina said as she patted her knee.
"No, Charlie, wait," Isabella said and with that she was gone.
Once the front door was closed, Seraphina turned on me and said, "Congratulations Phillip. You have now pushed all three of our children out into the cruel world. I HAD A SILVER OF HOPE WITH ISSY WANTING TO MOVE BACK IN AND YOU JUST SLAM THE DOOR ON THAT!"
"Sera, I am just trying to protect my family," I said.
"BY TURNING THEM AWAY? YOU ARE SUCH AN UNBELIEVABLE BASTARD! YOU HAVE TURNED INTO MY FATHER!" Seraphina screamed at me and then quickly got off the couch.
"SERA…" I started to say.
"NO DON'T YOU EVEN THINK ABOUT COMING INTO OUR BED TONIGHT! OR ANY OTHER TIME UNTIL YOU APOLOGIZE TO BELLA, CHARLIE, ADAM, AND OLLIE!" Seraphina said and then she left the living room and when she got to our room, the door slammed and locked!
So, What do you think? Please take 5 minutes and leave a review! Thanks in advance!
