"Husk, is everything alright? What happened?" "Angel, calm down. Please," Husk said, groaning as he put the suitcase down, "Jesus… the fuck did they pack in this thing?" Husk groaned as he reached back and rubbed his lower back, gasping as he leaned back and felt his spine pop. "Hey, Angel," Hazel greeted, smiling as she and Angel gave each other a quick hug, "It looks like we'll be staying here for a few days."
"Why? What's wrong?" Angel asked, "A twister hit your house or something?" "Hahaha, very funny." Bucky chuckled, grunting as Hazel nudged his elbow. "No, it's… ugh! It's my aunt. That crazy bitch just showed up yesterday, acting all friendly and like we were one big happy family. But when we told her to leave, she… she… argh!"
"It's okay, sweetie." Bucky said, putting the suitcases down and wrapping his arms around Hazel, "Karol gave this big rant about her being owed something. Gave us all nothing but grief when she was at our place, but she was really nasty to Hazel. One moment she's congratulating us on our baby, next she's accusing Hazel of playing games or some shit like that."
"Well, she is delusional," Husk scoffed, "None of you owe that ditz a damn thing. If anything, she owes you, Hazel, for ditching you after your folks died. Twenty-six years and not even so much as a fucking phone call. Now she suddenly gives a shit? Why!?" "I don't know, dad, and I don't give a damn." Hazel said, shaking her head as she fought back tears, "I just want her to go away and leave me and my family alone." Husk nodded, taking Hazel by the hand and leading her over to the sofa, saying, "Just try to relax, okay? I'll go find a good room for you two and get the key. Then you can start getting settled in."
Hazel smiled and nodded, sighing as Bucky came over and sat down next to her on the sofa as Husk walked off to find the couple a hotel room and a key. Angel grabbed the three suitcases and moved them over into a neat pile next to Bucky's feet before plopping down in the armchair with a sigh. "So, other than your aunt being a complete psycho… how've you guys been?"
"Okay, I guess." Hazel shrugged, "How about you, Angel? Your boss still riding you hard and putting you up wet?" Angel chuckled and blushed a little as he nodded and rubbed his shoulder, saying, "Yeah, well… it's nothing I can't handle. Plus, I've always got your dad to vent to."
"Alright, everything's set." everyone turned to see Husk pushing a luggage trolley, "You'll be staying in room 508. It's not a particularly fancy room, but it's got all the necessities and a very nice queen mattress and walk-in closet. Bucky, catch." Husk tossed Bucky the room key as Husk walked over and started loading the couple's suitcases onto the trolley. "Huh… didn't know hotels still used keys," Bucky drawled, giving a chuckle, "I thought they all switched to those fancy card thingies."
"You guys want a hand?" Angel asked, "I can at least help unload the suitcases once you get up to the room." "Sure, Angel. I'd appreciate it." Husk nodded. Angel hopped up and helped Husk with the last suitcase before following him and the imps to the elevator, riding it up to the fifth floor and down the hall to room 508. "Here we are. Bucky, get the door for us, would ya?"
"Not a problem, Mr. H." Bucky reached into his pocket, grabbed the key and unlocked the door, switching on the lights as he entered the room and let Husk and the others inside. "Ooh… for not being the fanciest, this room is purdy fancy." Bucky said with an approving nod, "Whatcha think, Hazel?" "I like it. It's very cozy." Hazel smiled. "Yep, and my room's just down the hall," Husk mewed, "Room 520. It's got Poker symbols on it, so it's literally impossible to miss."
"That works." Bucky shrugged, "Thanks a lot, fellers. I think we got it from here." "You sure?" Husk asked. "Yeah, we can take it from here, dad." Hazel said with a yawn, "We'll be down a little later to discuss dinner. Honestly, I'd be fine with just some Chinese takeout tonight. God, I could use a nap." Bucky chuckled as he took Hazel's hand and led her over to the bed, helping her slip out of her boots and pulling back the blankets so she could lay down.
"You two sure you don't want a hand getting unpacked?" "Yeah, dad," Hazel yawned, "We'll call if we need anything. Promise." Husk just shrugged, chuckling and patting Bucky on the shoulder before helping Bucky and Angel unload the suitcases from the luggage trolley; once it was unloaded, Angel grabbed the trolley and pushed it out into the hall. Bucky waved goodbye as Husk walked out of the room, flashing one last smile and a wave goodbye before shutting the door.
"Huh… it is a really nice-looking key." Bucky said, looking down at the old-fashioned room key and giving a little chuckle. "Hmmm… that's nice, Bucky," Hazel said groggily, "We'll talk about it in the morning." Bucky smiled as Hazel let out another yawn, feeling her eyes become impossible to open as she was starting to drift off to sleep. The Wrath imp walked over and helped her slip out of her outfit and tucked her under the blankets, giving her a kiss on her cheek before grabbing the couple's luggage to start unpacking.
