Chapter 6

Lab

"How long until I know if I am a match?" Liam asks the lab technician.

"A few hours sir. We have a few other people that we are testing." she replies, sadness that this nice man is going through so much. "We'll have the nurse tell you as soon as we get the results."

"Thank you, wait, a few people? Isn't it just my ex-wife?"

"No sir, there is also John Finnegan"She tells him.

"Finn? Why would Finn be getting tested?"he asks himself.

Having heard him talking to himself, she adds, "There is a paternity test also." Liam stands there in shock. He quickly heads to the room where his daughter lays.

Hospital

"Know what Hope?" comes a voice from behind her. Hope spins around only to see... "What will Liam know?" Steffy asks from the doorway.

"What are you doing here?" the blonde asks, frustration in her voice.

"I came to support Beth and Liam, he told me what is happening." she says, "But what doesn't he know Hope?"

"Nothing, it's none of your business." the other woman says,

"You're lying. I, or at least he will eventually know what you are hiding." Steffy tells Hope.

"Steffy, what are you doing here?" Finn asks from behind her.

"I came to support Liam and Beth. But it is so good to see you." his wife says as she puts her arms around the man in front of her, his eyes meeting Hope's.

"What in the hell is going on here? There is a paternity test being done on Beth? Why Hope? Liam yells as he sees his ex-wife. He looks over at Finn, who is holding Steffy. "Finn?" he asks. Finn lets go of Steffy only to be met with a punch in the face.

"Liam, what's wrong? Why did you just punch my husband?" the brunette beauty asks.

"Ask these two." he says, venom dripping from his voice.

"Uh, uh... what are you talking about?" the blonde says, looking like a deer caught in the headlights.

"You know exactly what I am talking about, don't you? I was just down at the lab and they told me that a paternity test is being run on Beth. That they are running a DNA test against Finn. Sounds like to me that they think that Finn may be my daughter's father."

"Is that what Liam can't find out? That somehow my husband is the father of your daughter? Is this true Finn? Did you know Hope before we met?" Steffy asks her husband?

He hangs his head, "Yes, I knew Hope before any of you. But there is more. Steffy, while Beth might be mine, Hayes however isn't. I had Vinny change the results." he tells his wife.

"You mean that Hayes is Liam's?Kelly and Hayes are both Liam's? She asks, shocked and mad.

"Yes. I just, I wanted him to be mine, I wanted a life with you." he replies, shame lacing his voice.

"Oh my god, what in the hell is happening here?" Liam shouts. Hope walks up to her ex-husband.

"Finn may be Beth's dad and it seems that Hayes is really yours. I guess we might have nothing keeping us together and you have more than you thought tying you to Steffy."

"Mommy? Daddy? Comes a small voice from the bed. Everyone turns to look at the small child in the bed, her eyes filled with tears.

"Oh sweetheart, I am sorry. Are we scaring you?" Liam cries.

"Why is everyone fighting? Aren't we supposed to be nice to others?"The child asks, confusion and fear written all over her face.

"We are supposed to be nice to others. I guess we weren't being very nice, were we?" Hope asks her daughter.

"Excuse me, Hope Logan?" A nurse says from the doorway.

"Yes?" Asks the blonde.

"The test results are back.

"Let me see!" Exclaims the adults. The nurse hands the envelopes to Hope and Liam. They pull the papers out and look at them.

"What the hell?"says Hope. Liam just looks crestfallen.

"What?" Finn asks

"Neither of you are the father of Beth. In fact, I am not...
