The Chaos Council's giant aircraft appeared and Eggforcers were lined up together. Babble pressed keys on his keypad, along with a few other members while Eggman was looking down at his 'henchmen'.
"Crush everything in your path until you find the Shards!" Eggman said and the Eggforcers and the two ally aircrafts swarm down onto the landscape.
They all walked, thumping the land as they do so and Leader and Shadow watched over them.
"Oh great." Leader said.
"What about him?" Shadow asked referring to Nine configuring a shard. "We can't just leave him alone with the Prism Shards."
"Uh, yes we can. Seeing as he's the only one who can put them back together, and, y'know, fix reality? You really don't trust him, do you?"
"No."
"Of course you don't. You don't trust anyone. You wanna stay here and babysit? Fine. Knock yourself out. I'm gonna go buy us some time." she said, jumped down with he looking on grimacing, then jumped down to. "Well, look who couldn't resist a team-up." she said while they ran together.
"Hardly. Have you seen what happens when you go it alone?" he said and dashed off.
"You mean landslide victory? Someone sounds jealous!" she shouted out and they encountered Eggforcers.
Shadow punched one from mid-air, while Leader leapfrogged over him and kicked another. He stomped on two more before punching another one and she punched one, did a relaxed pose while hitting the next one and overhead kicked another one. He took one of the broken Eggforcers with his shoes up in the air and corralled it into another one. Then he stomped another three and she defeated another three before two more collide together in mid-air and they met each other.
On the Yoke HQ.
"Oh, my egg!" Eggman said in shock after seeing Shadow.
'He's back.' he thought.
"There's two of him now?! Impossible!" Don't said and Babble babbled confusedly while watching Leader and Shadow's footage on the monitor.
"After all this dimension-hopping, nothing should surprise you." Deep said.
"So what if there's two of 'em? Two means twice as easy to hit!"
"No... It means our task just got far more difficult!" Deep said and typed on the keyboard. "Diverting stored Shard energy to our Eggforcers. Let's see how they do when our forces are powered up!" he said and the Generator started crackling.
At Ghost Hill the crackling transferred to all the Eggforcers. They power up and fire constant bullets. Leader jumped and performed a flying punch, but the Eggforcer blocked her fist, before delivering a right hand back at her, causing her to fly back and land on the ground.
"She's down! Hit 'em with everything you got!" Done-It said, laughed maniacally and rockets as a group of homing missiles were fired at the group.
They got away at the last split second, leaving the missiles to explode as they hit the landscape with Shadow carrying Leader.
"Ugh. Probably gonna regret that." Shadow said.
"I heart you too, Shadow." Leader said and made a heart sign with her hands, to which he just rolled his eyes in annoyance.
Soon, they both stopped to a halt, staying alerted when two aircrafts came rushing towards them.
"Split up!" Leader said and the team ran together and split up.
"I'll get the new one." Don't said and summoned Eggforcers at Shadow. "Smile for the ammo, rat." he said but Shadow defeated some Eggforcers while being chased and Don't grunted in annoyance.
Meanwhile, Shadow redirected ammo fire to hit their own Eggforcers.
"Pathetic! Let me show you how it's done in the real world, boy." Eggman said.
A large orange laser was generated and fired, corroding past the landscape, but Shadow got away, leaving nothing but visible holes on the HQ's monitor.
"Ugh, fine! But we get the assist." Don't said and Shadow jumped up and left.
Meanwhile, Leader broke to a halt and realized Shadow missing.
"Shadow!" she said, turned back and wasn't visible in-front of Deep's monitor.
"Where'd he go?" Deep said and Leader stopped after she ran to the area with holes from Shadow's fight.
"No... There's no way Shadow would go down that easy…"
At the Paradox Prism Nine kept assembling the Paradox Prism, rotating a shard in different angles. It was then inserted into the prism with a flash.
"There. Two more, then home for the last Shard." he said, crawled over to the red shard in the box, picked it up and crawled towards the Prism, constantly rotating it.
Once he tried to put it inside the Prism, it shimmered, vibrated rapidly and exploded. The explosion's wave carried on outside the cave, past Sonic. The world was now transformed into Hedgehog's Pass.
"It's... Home!" Sonic said but at the same time, Nine retracted the Shard from the Paradox Prism, causing another explosion and warping the world back to Ghost Hill and their counterparts. "Damnit." she muttered. "Everything was back. Just for a second." she said. "Nine? You okay?" she asked on her Regulator.
"Yeah, this is a little trickier than I thought." Nine said.
"What happened? Reality was flippin' out over here!"
"Like I said, this is a challenge. You're gonna have to buy me some more time."
"No problem, buddy!" she said while Babble furiously babbled and fired at her, forcing her to retreat and encounter more Eggforcers shooting at her.
Leader lured the weapons into the robots, destroying them, before approaching the other Yolkomotive.
"Now your turn!" she said and Deep pushed Done-It off his seat.
"Gimme that! Behold, the master marksman!" Deep said and fired homing missiles at her.
Leader spin dashed and jumped up some ledges to reach a long, narrow, twisty platform. With the missiles following her, she ran up the Helter Skelter, around the loop-de-loop and jumped onto the windshield of the Yolkomotive, latching onto it and waving 'goodbye' to the Chaos Council, before leaving just in time for the missiles to hit the vehicle.
"No!" Don't said and his Yolkomotive exploded, sending Leader flying too.
"Woo!" she said.
"No-o-o-o!" he said struggling to control it.
The vehicle crash landed on the landscape scattering a large plume of dust. As the dust cleared, the ground was surrounded by rocks and Deep winced in annoyance and looked at Done-It, who shook his head.
"You can have the controls back." Deep said.
Meanwhile Leader swung down the Palm tree in jubilation.
"Woo!" she said and ran, seeing Shadow at the other end defeating another Eggforcer. "Thank Chaos." she said and he broke one while she broke four, grinding on the edge of the ship with a robot part.
Babble angrily babbled as Leader and Shadow met, forcing them to glare at his robot.
"You will pay for this!" Babble said while babbling and Deep also arrived in his mech, standing next to his ally.
Meanwhile Eggman observed a reading of the Paradox Prism on the monitor.
"These readings are like nothing we've ever seen! It's like they're connecting the Shards, and amplifying the power! All forces, head towards the mountain. Dr. Deep and Dr. Babble, here's a little boost to help you keep those two weasels off our backs." Eggman said, pressed a button on the keypad and electricity crackled into the Chaos Council's robots, upgrading them while Leader and Shadow appeared shocked as they watched on.
"Yes." Deep said and drew out his sword. "Yes! Now we're talking!" he said and Babble battle cried and hammered its right arm to the ground a few times.
The battle began and Leader was given a left fist to the face from Babble's robot, sending her flying into the wall. Deep hit Shadow with a Buzzsaw, before his sword was knocked off by his competitor. Babble charged at Leader with a ground pound, but she leapt out of the way, so far that she lost her enemy, and watched the enemy aircraft swoop by, controlled by Done-It who pushed the levers down, speeding up the vehicle and causing Leader to panic.
"Nine!" Leader said and was hit again by Babble.
Meanwhile, Nine almost completed the assembly of the Paradox Prism, but Eggforcers breach into the temple and attack him. He started firing back at them while Leader helplessly flopped to the ground just as he called him back.
"Leader!" Nine said.
"Nine? You okay?" Leader said.
"No! The Eggforcers have breached the temple." he said while battling Eggforcers.
"Hang on, I'm coming." she said and ducked down to dodge another flying fist from Babble, but Shadow kicked the big robot into the ground.
"Go! Protect the Prism!" Shadow said so she nodded and left, leaving him to deal with Babble whose robot just got up.
It tried to hammer Shadow with a right fist to the ground, but he dodged. It then fired lasers while he kept running, but he ran into the kicking boot of Deep's mech and was scooped into the air.
Meanwhile, the Yolkomotive by the temple deploy more Eggforcers.
"Dr. Deep to all forces: The blue rat is heading towards the mountain!" Deep said.
"Not for long he isn't." Done-It said, moved the Yolkomotive and tried to defend from Leader, shooting lasers as she ran up the mountain and Eggman watched Leader on the screen.
"Ugh... Must I do everything?" Eggman said, generated a large orange laser and waited for the opportune moment.
He fired it, hitting and exploding the top of it. Leader screamed as he was uncontrollably thrown by the laser blast, tumbling down and landing flat on his face. He looked on while Nine kept battling the Eggforcers. As soon as they're all defeated, Leader comforted him.
"You okay?" Leader asked.
"I'm fine." Nine said, walked back to the Paradox Prism and started thinking while Leader became excited and steped by him.
"You're nearly done! Nine, I saw it." she said and touched his shoulders.
"The Prism is only partially complete. I need you to buy me more time."
Suddenly, the temple rumbled, causing them both to brace themselves. From outside, the enemy kept firing at the temple.
"Nine... we're losing. The Chaos Council is using Shard energy to make themselves tougher than ever. Maybe I can do the same." she said.
"Uh…"
"You said it before. I'm full of Shard energy. Just gimme a boost!" she said and the temple kept rumbling and cracking, with a rock falling loose.
"In theory, it's possible." he said and she ran and looked at the gaping hole in the temple. "But given the myriad configurations and the commensurate spectrum of transmutational possibilities…"
"Uh. Same stuff less words!" she said worried.
"It's dangerous. Too little energy, you'll lose. Too much…"
"And I pop off like a firework. I get it, but this is it. It's the only option. 'Cause unless I can be more, y'know, me, we lose." she said and he nodded and showed off his tails, while the enemy kept firing at the temple.
"Hurry it up! Daddy wants his Shards!" Done-It said.
Nine reconfigured all the shards with lasers while Leader was waiting, on the brink of getting hit by weaponry.
"Uhh, any time now!" Leader said.
"Almost there. Whatever you do, just don't move." Nine said.
"Don't move?!" she said angrily and he retracted the green shard from the Prism and transferred it to her, while simultaneously on the other side the missiles home towards her.
Leader was hit by the Shard's power just before the missiles get to her. The weapons stop and the temple rumbled. Suddenly, Leader, with a green glow, took out some Eggforcers, leaving Nine stunned and she re-appeared with a rainbow-colored outline, showcasing his new look.
"Whoa. "Now this is speed! Nine, you've really outdone yourself." Leader said and defeated three more Eggforcers, showing three different copies of her punch. "I should probably check on Shadow." she said and warps to a copy on her left, impersonating Tails Nine. "Great idea!" she said, defeated two more Eggforcers, and then four more in quick succession, leaving copies of him behind. "Ha-ha! Now that's how it's done!" she said and warps, impersonating Shadow. "Meh. Not bad." she said and warps, impersonating himself in an angry tone. "Oh, like you could do better?" she said and Done-It's aircraft confronted her.
"Dodge this, marmot." Done-It said maniacally laughing as he fired bullets at her.
"Rude." she said, whips up a Tornado, scooping the broken Eggforcers in the air before they were thrown at Done-It's windshield, along with the rest of the aircraft.
The force caused Done-It to scream as he tried to control it, but it crashed into the ground.
"Ha! I knew that would work." she said and warps, impersonating Shadow. "No, you didn't." she said and warps, impersonating herself. "Did so!" she said and warps. "Whatever. Race you to Shadow? she said and warps. "Way ahead of you... Me... Us?!" she said and jumped off the temple, while Shadow continued his battle with Deep, dodging his double sword attack.
Deep ground pounded, but Shadow blocked it with a kick but was then grabbed from behind by the left arm of Babble who laughed evilly and set up one final laser in close range.
"Hey, Shadow!" Leader said and Deep, Shadow and Babble looked at her. "Sorry to keep you waiting!" she said, used the shard power, attacked both enemy robots in rapid succession, high-fiving its own hologram in mid-air before continuing, lifted and tossed Babble's robot out of sight.
"Ugh. Don't you know it's rude to..." Deep said but was kicked by her shard-powered leg and was thrown out. "Agh!" he said and Sonic met Shadow, downed and struggling to get up.
"How..." Shadow asked.
"Got a power-up." Leader said and he looked at her unamused.
"There's still one card to play. Invoking Operation: Big Boy Pants." Eggman said, pressed a button and the cannons whir and rotate up into the sky.
"It's aiming away from us?!" she said and warps behind Shadow. "That doesn't make any sense." she said and warps, in a relaxed pose. "Maybe they know when they're beat." she said and warps next to Shadow impersonating him. "These guys? Please. If you believe that you're even dumber than you look."
"Finally a Sonic I can agree with." Shadow said and the cannons fire lasers in the sky.
They watched on, with Eggman grinning in excitement as the lasers generate the Prismatic Titan, a giant clone of Dr. Eggman with a glowing outline and bright pink mustache.
"Behold, the pinnacle of all creation!" Eggman said and the Titan descended onto the landscape.
"It's official. I've seen it all." Leader said and the Titan landed with an enormous rumble then walked towards the Temple.
"It's heading for the Temple." Shadow said and they both ran after the Titan.
"Hey! Bring it on, big, tall and ugly!" she said and jumped up to the Titan's head, but it easily palmed her away, dropping her helplessly to the ground as it continued onward, destroying a loop-de-loop with one chop.
Then Leader went up to the Titan, landing on its hand and running up the arm before Homing Attacking its metallic head every time she says a word.
"Why... won't... you... go... down?!" she said and the Titan flicked a finger at her, tossing her back to the ground again.
Just then, Shadow appeared.
"Get to the Shards, now!" he said.
Just as he approached the Titan, it powered up and unleashed a beam, knocking him off.
"Shadow!" Leader said dreading while the Titan turned and walked in the other direction so she went to the temple once again. "Nine!" she said on Regulator, arrived at the Temple and confronted Nine. "Nine! My power-up, it's not enough! There's a giant..." she said and the temple started rumbling again.
The Titan climbed up the temple, took a view from the gaping hole, and brought its arm through it.
"A prismatic Titan..." Nine said and the Titan pulled out some rocks to widen the gaping hole.
"How do we beat it?"
"Uh... You and the Titan should operate within the same spectral frequency." he said, scanned the Titan's head, and compared its frequency to Leader's on the screen. "If I offset your frequency…"
"Nine! What do we do? What do we do?" she asked panicking.
"I don't know exactly! But, if you hit him where it hurts, I think we can make him go boom!"
"And if he doesn't?"
"Well, it's been a slice. A slice of reality, that is." he said and reconfigured the shards in the Paradox Prism.
He charged a green beam of light at Leader, causing her to grunt as the charging increases. He stopped with a worried look as her upgrade was complete. Her quills were crowned with a pink flame, and its attire glows turquoise with crackles around him. She opened her eyes, which glow pink, and with brave anger, turned towards the Titan, which threw off another rock. The Titans goggles glow turquoise and opened its glowing mouth to load up a beam attack.
"Now!" Nine said.
The upgraded Leader took off and Peeled out towards the Titan. A few seconds later, the beam attack was unleashed from the Titan at her. She spin jumped towards the Titan and made it inside the Titan's mouth. The Titan fell off the temple, with Leader continuing to peel out with all her might. Just as Nine ran out to the top of the temple with a gadget, the Titan crashed to the ground with a large rumble. The shockwave caused Nine and Eggman to flinch. The Titan was no longer visible, while Leader stood with her palm to the ground then ran up to the temple and made her way to Nine.
"Sonic! You did it!" Nine said.
"We did it. Did you complete the Prism?" Leader asked and noticed the world hadn't changed. "Then why hasn't it worked?" she said and got annoyed as she walked to the Paradox Prism. "I don't get it. I thought this would work!"
"There's still one Shard missing."
"What? Of course."
"The last Shard is in the Grim."
"Okay... Probably could've mentioned that earlier and saved us the trip there and back."
"And back? The only reason we're here at all is because I needed to use the Prism's impression as a blueprint. To see which pieces went where. Now that all but the last one is in place, we can rebuild it to make the grim into what we've always wanted."
"What?"
"We're not remaking our world. We're building a better one. The perfect world in Grim. Our clean slate."
"Why does the slate have to be clean? I liked the old slate! It was our home!"
"It hasn't been my home in years."
"I think you can get it back."
"You're wrong about that. We need to build a new home." he said getting annoyed.
"Come on, little buddy…"
"Stop calling me that! You just assumed I'd go along with you no matter what. Did you even consider what I wanted?!" he said angrily and smacked her outstretched hand.
"I assumed that after everything we've been through, you'd see things the way I do. Just like the old Tails would."
"I AM him!" he said and threatened her with a laser, then turned his back on her, upset. "Just not what I once was."
"We're all in this together"
"And that's exactly your problem! You just jump into situations with no idea about the outcome." he said angrily, turned to her and threatened her.
"Wait!" she said and he fired at the Paradox Prism, causing an explosion and a shockwave which passed Shadow.
Leader was on the ground after being blasted by the explosion. She groaned and shook her head while watching an angry Nine walk towards the portal, carrying all the shards, before stopping at the last stride.
She coughed and became upset.
"We can make this work Nine. Trust me!" she said.
"Trust you? The only person I can trust is myself." Nine scoffed and walked into the portal with all the shards, closing behind him.
Shadow lividly glared at Leader, who, severely heartbroken and embarrassed to herself, put her face into her palms.
