Welcome back to Elemental Crisis Book II. Last time, Batwoman made some degree of progress in learning the Shadow Element in that she's now able to pull herself out of her shadow on her own when she sinks into it. It's clear something is holding her back, so the two agree to take a break in an attempt to sort it out. But just as they start, Spyro comes in revealing they've got the identity of Joker's Mister Freeze impostor, a man named Virgil Getty. Renee Montoya has apparently already searched his apartment, revealing he's trying to perfect Mister Freeze's formula. But there's another address, which Cynder and Batwoman are on their way to investigate. But what awaits at this location? Read on to discover...

(Our scene picks up not with Cynder and Batwoman on the hunt, but instead with Joker and her goons, hiding out at Virgil Getty's last known location. And clearly, Joker's not too happy about the situation)

Joker: You utter imbeciles! We had them in our grasp! We'd almost reclaimed the Shadow element then you had to go and screw it up!

Virgil Getty: Look clown, I will not stand here and be insulted like this.

Mad Hatter: Yeah, boss. Please, calm yourself. We did learn something from all this. The tech built into my hat will work on the dragons. If we need to, I can use it to force them to give over what we want.

Joker: Nobody asked you, Hatter! We don't have much time before Lord Malefor starts poking in. We need some way to recover that Element from the Bat.

Virgil Getty: Thankfully, I've almost perfected the formula. We'll be able to capture them with it.

Joker: We'd better be able to.

(At this point, the room is surrounded in mist)

Joker: Oh great, the boss is calling. Give me a moment.

(And with that, Malefor appears in the mist, accompanied by Red Death and Myriad)

Malefor: Joker. Care to explain why our enemies now have the Shadow element?

Joker: A slight setback, Lord Malefor. But one we should be able to recover from.

Red Death: Where have I heard that one before?

Joker: Hey, at least I didn't cause us to lose all eight elements.

Red Death: (Pulling the signature vibrating hand threat) Watch it clown, I'm not afraid to wipe that smile off your face, permanently.

Myriad: Red Death, Joker, that is enough. We must focus on the mission at hand. This is not the time to be antagonizing one another. (To Joker) We have run the odds of your success, and thus far, they seem quite marginal.

Joker: Not if my friend on the inside has anything to say about it.

Myriad: Ah yes, the extraneous variable you haven't felt compelled to share with us.

Joker: With good reason, Myriad. I expect to hear from them any moment now.

(And just like that, a cell phone starts distantly ringing)

Red Death: That would be them, I assume?

Joker: Exactly. Trust me, Lord Malefor. I will not fail you.

Malefor: You had better not. It's your head if you do.

(And just like that, Malefor, Red Death, and Myriad disappear as Joker finally answers the ringing phone)

Joker: This had better be good. I just got chewed out by the big boss.

?: They've got your location. The Bat and the dragoness are on the way.

Joker: Excellent. We'll need all the help we can get. Get down here, now.

?: Wait, you need me there?

Joker: Between you, Virgil, Mason, Hatter, and myself, I've got a full house here. If there's ever been a time to play it, it's now.

?: (Sighs) Very well, just make sure you hold up your end of the bargain.

Joker: Don't you worry. I've got what you want. (Hangs up) Our final card is on the way. (To Mad Hatter) Do you have it? You know they won't cooperate if we don't.

(At the question, Mad Hatter takes off his hat and pulls from it a canister containing a cutting of some kind of vine)

Mad Hatter: It's honestly the reason I've been moving so slowly since we started. I don't want this thing to break loose and kill me.

Joker: It won't. Now get ready. We have company coming.

(And no sooner has Joker said that, then the scene shifts to the outside, where we see the Batmobile pulling up in front of what looks like a warehouse of some kind, with Cynder landing behind it just as Batwoman steps out)

Cynder: This is the place?

Batwoman: If our reports are accurate, this should be where Virgil Getty is hiding out.

Cynder: Then let's get in there and see if we can't bust Joker's operations up.

(And as Batwoman and Cynder enter the warehouse, our scene ends for today)

And that looks like a good place to wrap up for now. So, Joker's source is only working with them to secure that vine Mad Hatter has apparently been carrying around. Anybody who's seen Season 3 of Batwoman may be beginning to realize who Joker's inside source might be. But I can confirm this, we will get the answers next time. So be sure to tune in for that! Same time... same channel!
