Chapter Two.
After saying goodbye to Merlon and Bleck's minions, Mario, Luigi, Peach and Bowser returned to the Mushroom kingdom. Soon the Mario bros were finally home. "Aw, home sweet home!" Mario said, watching his brother carefully walk in. "Easy bro, take your time!" Mario told him, as Luigi carefully stops, once he was in, then they went straight to the back where their beds were. Soon as Luigi was in his Pajamas and in bed, Mario went to call their family doctor. "Hey doc, it's Mario. Yes, it's nice to hear from you too. Uhm, is there any way for you to come over and check out Luigi. Our friend Merlon from Flipside said he has three broken ribs. Tomorrow morning? Yeah, that will be fine. "Well see you than, goodbye doc!" Mario said, hanging up.
Throughout the day Mario did whatever he could for his brother, he played cards with him, made him lunch and supper, helped him to the bathroom when he needed to go, and tucked him in when it was time for bed.
The next morning the doctor arrived, he approached the door and knocked. "Aw, hello doctor, glad you could come!" Mario said, answering the door. "Hello Mario, it's good to see you!" their doc said, as Mario let him in. "Now than where's my patient?" He asked. "Right this way doc!" Mario said, leading him to the back room. "Aw, there you are Luigi!" their doctor said. "Hi doc, how are you?" Luigi asked. "I'm good Luigi, but Mario tells me you have an injury?" The doc asked. "Yeah, a bad one, broken ribs!" Luigi told him. Hm? I see, we'll let's take a look shell we!" the doc said, gently touching Luigi chest, which made Luigi cry out. "Oh, so sorry Luigi, Hm? Let's make sure nothing else is injured!" he said, bringing out his light and shined it in both of Luigi's eyes. Your head and eyes look okay, open your mouth wide for me Luigi?" The doc asked. "Aw!" Luigi said, opening his mouth for the doctor. "Hm? Everything looks okay in there!" he said, then he checked Luigi's arms and legs. Your arms and legs are okay too, looks like your friend Merlon's diagnosis was spot on Mario!" the doc said, putting a thermometer in Luigi's mouth. He definitely has three broken ribs!" He said, hearing the beep, the doc then took out the thermometer out of his mouth and read it. "Temp is good too. Well, Luigi the good news is your broken ribs will completely heal in six weeks, but the bad news is since you cannot move around so much, I'm putting you on bed rest for two weeks!" The doc said. "Bed rest for two weeks ugh!" Luigi groaned at this news. "Don't worry bro, I'll keep you busy until then!" Mario told him. "Alright let's listen to those heart and lungs of yours!" the doc told him, putting the bulbs into his ears and putting the stethoscope to Luigi's chest. Mario watched as his brother painfully breathed in and out for the doctor. "Excellent everything sounds good, but since you are in pain, I'm going to prescribe some pain medication!" The doc said, writing a prescription. "Here you are!" he said, giving the prescription to Mario. "Oh, thanks doc!" Mario said, taking the Prescription. "I'll be back in two weeks to see how you've improved, until then rest up okay Luigi!" Doc said. "Okay!" Luigi said, just when the doc's beeper went off. "Oh, I got to go, other patients to see, oh, and before I forget, here's a get-well card for you Luigi!" he said, handing him the card. "Oh, thanks doc!" Luigi said, taking the card. "Well, I better be off, see you in two weeks!" The doc said, leaving the house. Goodbye doc we'll see you later!" Mario said, watching the doc take the pipe. After the doc was gone, Mario turned his attention to his brother, who looked sore and tired. "You look tired bro!" Mario said. "I am and sore!" Luigi said. "Why don't you have a nap, I have to go out and get a few things, your prescription being one of them!" Mario said. "Good idea bro!" Luigi said, going to sleep. Mario tucked Luigi in. "Sweet dream Luigi, I'll be back soon!" Mario said.
Soon Mario was in Toad town. He steps out of the Pharmacy. "Okay that's done, now all I need now is milk and eggs!" Mario thought, checking his list. He was about to head to Sam's food store when. "Mario, hey Mario!" He heard Mario turned around and saw Burt approaching him. "Oh, hey Burt!" Mario replied. "Hi Mario, how's your brother? The Princess told us what happened to Luigi in Flipside! "Burt told him. "He's okay, the doc came to see him today and put him on two weeks of bed rest!" Mario said. "Two weeks of bed rest, man that's going to be rough!" Burt said. "Yeah, but we're going to be okay, we'll get through it together!" Mario said. "That's great to hear Mario, oh, by the way, I sent your brother some get-well flowers!" Burt said. "You did, well that was nice of you. Listen I better get going, it was nice seeing you, Burt!" Mario said. "You too Mario, bye!" Burt said, moving on.
Soon Mario entered Sam's Food Store and picked up the milk and eggs he needed. On the way to the counter. Honey the baker saw him. "Oh, Hello Mario dear!" she said. "Hi Honey, nice to see you!" Mario said. "It's good to see you too Mario, everyone has heard what happened to Luigi in Flipside, So I'm making him a special get-well cake!" Honey told him. "You are? Well thank you that's great to hear!" Mario said. "I'll have it delivered to your home once it's made!" Honey said, smiling. "Mm I can taste it already!" Mario said, putting the milk and eggs onto the counter. "Hi Mario, just the milk and eggs?" Sam asked. "Yeah!" Mario said, handing Sam some coins, who put them in the register. "Thank you, oh, and before I forget I had a get-well gift for Luigi sent to your house!" Sam said, "You did, well, thank you for informing me, later!" Mario replied, leaving the store with his milk and eggs.
When Mario arrived home, he was shocked to find the front yard covered in gifts, flowers, balloons and the mailbox filled with cards. "Mama Mia. Look at them all, there must be a gift, flowers and cards from everyone in the kingdom!" Mario said, seeing there were gifts, flowers and cards from those from Flipside as well. "Wow even those from Flipside are sending them!" Mario said. "Mario, is that you?" Peach said, from inside the house. Mario ran inside and found Peach and Toadworth inside. "Oh, hi Princess, Toadworth!" Mario said. "Hello, Master Mario, I'm relieved to see you in one piece, the Princess told me what happened in Flipside, so we came to see how you and your brother were doing!" Toadworth said. "Aw thank you, say, is Luigi still asleep?" Mario asked. "Uhm, we don't know, we didn't want to disturb him if he was sleeping!" Peach said. "That's okay, I'll check on him!" he said, heading into the back room. Mario saw that Luigi was still fast asleep and came out again. Is he okay Mario?" Peach asked. "Yeah, he's still asleep!" Mario said.
Soon the three of them were at the table having tea. "So how is Master Luigi doing? Toadworth asked. "He's okay our family doctor checked him out today and put him on two weeks of bed rest!" Mario said. "Oh, my word!" Toadworth said. "Mario?" they heard. Mario got up and went to the back. "Hey bro, how are you feeling?" Mario asked. "Not good, my chest is hurting!" Luigi told him, in pain. "Well don't worry bro, I have your prescription right here!" Mario said, bringing out Luigi's Prescription. Mario then read the instructions and opened the lid and put one pill into his hand. "Here you are bro!" Mario said, handing the pill to Luigi. "Thanks bro!" He said, holding the pill in his hand. Luigi then put the pill into his mouth and Mario came back in and handed a glass of water to him, which Luigi drank. "Wow these pills works fast, I'm not in pain anymore!" Luigi said. "That's good, oh, by the way the Princess and Toadworth are here visiting!" Mario said. They are!" Luigi said, just as Peach and Toadworth came in. "Hi Princess, Toadworth!" Luigi said, greeting them. "Hello Master Luigi, how are you feeling my boy?" Toadworth asked. "Not too bad, thank you for asking?" Luigi said, smiling.
Soon it was night and the four of them were enjoying some of Honey's get-well cake and gift opening. "Wow, that was good, Honey sure makes great cakes!" Luigi said from his bed. "She sure does my boy!" Toadworth said. "Oh, look bro, this one is from the twins!" Mario said, putting the present beside Luigi and helped him open it. "Wow, a new hammer!" Luigi said, as Mario showed them the hammer. "Oh, my word, that's a good one!" Toadworth said.
Soon it was late and Peach and Toadworth headed outside. Well, we better be off Master Mario. You take good care of Master Luigi now!" Toadworth said. "Don't worry I will. It was nice having you both over today!" Mario said. "You're welcome, Mario. Don't forget to call and tell us how Luigi is doing!" Peach said. "Don't worry Princess, I'll keep you informed. Goodnight!" Mario said. "Goodnight Master, Mario!" Toadworth said. "Night Mario!" Peach said, heading to the pipe.
Two hours later Luigi and Mario were fast asleep. While Luigi slept peacefully. Mario, however, tossed and turned and was mumbling in his sleep. "No, No!" He mumbled. In his dream, Mario found himself back in Count Bleck's chambers. "Luigi? Luigi!" Mario called, searching for him. Suddenly Super Dimentio appeared in front of him. "Luigi, Luigi no!" Mario cried, as Super Dimentio reached for him. "No!" Mario cried, waking up, sweating and breathing heavily. Mario sat up on his bed trying to calm himself, he then quietly got out of bed. Mario watched his brother sleep for a moment before heading into the kitchen and made himself some honey tea. Mario took a few sips before sadly sighing, he had just had another bad dream about Luigi.
A few hours went by, and Mario was still at the table, he had black patches under his eyes. Mario was scared to go back to sleep, fearing he would have another Bad dream about his brother. Mario sadly sighed when, A bright light shined out of nowhere, and two familiar figures appeared. Mario looked at the figures and gasped in shock when he saw who they were. Tippy, Count Bleck!" Mario said, Hello Mario, it's good to see you again!" Bleck said. "You too, how are you both?" Mario asked. We're great, happy and together!" Bleck said. That's great to hear!" Mario said, rubbing his tired eyes. Are you okay Mario? You look awful. What's the matter?" Tippy asked, putting her hand on his shoulder. I'm okay Tippy, I just haven't been sleeping well. Ever since our battle with super Dimentio, I've been having bad dreams about Luigi!" Mario told her. Oh my!" Tippy said, feeling bad for Mario. Well, don't worry Mario, the gift we have for you and your brother will give you wonderful dreams and memories!" Bleck said, setting their gift onto the table. "Wow thank you!" Mario said. I hope you like it!" tippy said, we have to go my love!" Bleck said. Goodbye Mario, and don't worry about me and Bleck. If anyone asks about us, just tell them that we are safe and happy together!" Tippy told him. Don't worry, I will. Goodbye Tippy, Bleck it was nice seeing you both again!" Mario said, as Tippy smiled, then they teleported out. After they were gone Mario looked at the Present and smiled.
That morning, Luigi woke up, he yawned and carefully stretched. "Good morning, Mario!" Luigi said, getting no reply. Eh, Mario?" Luigi said, still not getting a reply. In the kitchen Mario was fast asleep on the table. "Mario!" Luigi called. "Hum?" Mario hummed, waking up. "Luigi?" he said, looking around and saw the present still on the table. Mario got up and headed to the back, yawning and stretching. "Good morning, bro!" Mario said. "Mario, where were you? Luigi asked. "Oh, I couldn't sleep last night, so I went to the kitchen for some honey tea!" Mario told him. "Oh, I almost forgot!" Mario said, heading back to the kitchen, and came back in with Tippy and Bleck's present. "Guess who came to visit us late last night?" Mario asked. "Who? Who visit us?" Luigi asked. "Read the tag bro!" Mario said, holding the present close to him so he could read the tag. Luigi gasped when he read the names on the tags. "No way. Bleck and Tippy?" Luigi said. "Yep, want to open their present and see what they gave us?" Mario asked. "You bet!" Luigi said. The two unwrapped the wrapping and Mario opened the box and gasped. "Wow!" He said, pulling out a beautiful statue. The statue was all of them together including Bleck and Tippy. "Oh wow, it's beautiful!" Luigi said. They both admired the statue.
Late that night, both Luigi and Mario were sleeping peacefully. Their dreams once filled with fear and worry, were now replaced with joy, friends and wonderful memories.
