Chapter 3 Awaited Destiny or is it?

"Bell Cranel" POV

I woke up in the bed that once belonged to my Goddess almost a week ago now I remembered clearly the moment in my memories when it would sneak up in my dreams. I dispel the thoughts and get up not paying any attention to the clock in the room after finding out the time didn't matter these days all that did was go to the dungeon, eat, practice, and sleep though as of late I've been trying to get into more hobbies like how I've been practicing and thinking over if I should go to the library and start reading or rather consuming information.

But with the time outside of the dungeon my mind has been going all over the place even to that of having magic which would be cool but over the multiple media depictions of magic it was something different here just like every other world.

I started to get dressed and get ready in my normalized way as I got here and living without my Goddess well it's been harder but now I think I can handle it just a bit. I still crave her presence, her joy and excitement, and her overall personality was the light in the dark tunnel in the original series.

'I still do hope she's doing better.' I had been resolute in saying that I won't talk to her until she was ready so even when I saw her once when she was with Naaza and Miach-Sama I quickly left not wanting her to catch sight of me.

I shook my head as I finished dressing myself and brushing my teeth. I had all my armor and sword strapped to my waist with my pouch as I went over what I had done this week In the dungeon.

Over these days I've been well trying to get Eina off my back so whenever I go to the Guild she tries to scold me but I always find a way to escape as I checked the money I've been getting these last days.

8,000 Valis was the average I was getting each day and over this week that would amount to what

20,000 plus 8,000 times 6, 48,000 plus 20,000, ahh 68,000 Valis.

I've been spending on some food over the week and necessities that I would be able to need like all the things in the shower.

I tell you I went from a person who shower maybe once a day normally once every two days to someone who takes a shower twice a day.

I shake at the smell of myself on that first day when I woke up for the second.

I open the door and leave the church I start to walk down my route as I take a deep breath.

'It's the day isn't it for the Minotaur to show up.' I exhaled as I contemplated my time.

'I haven't been able to get stronger without the updates Goddess would because she's no longer with me so I've been stuck at the same level since I got here and yes I've been practicing and getting used to fighting monsters and their different body proportions than human or other species like us which was giving me the most trouble since entering the dungeon.

Plus pulling that stunt with the War Shadows has been a no-go ever since then because that was only for my getting introduced into the dungeon and nothing more I'm not going to hold magic stones in my hands and leave myself defenseless.

I moved my way through the street as I made it towards my most visited destination in Orario its dungeon.

I began making my rounds towards the 5th floor which on some days when I was off or more like my mind was preoccupied I would have to go back from falling into a trance and killing enough monsters to fill my pouch.

I sigh as I kill a Kobold by sidestepping and stabbing it skillfully now knowing where the monster's magic stone is.

I was plateauing in my speed and strength not having my Goddess update me having me stuck on these levels.

It was annoying, to say the least it was one of the many downsides of my life as it was right now.

Without paying any attention I walked towards the 6th floor and continued without taking any attention as I continued killing anything in my path.

That was until I saw an Adventurer pass me by yelling at the top of his lungs. "It's a Minotaur on the upper Floors!" More Adventurers ran by as I quickly snapped out of my trance looking at the way the adventurers ran to see glowing red eyes and thumping. In a brief amount of being startled, I moved without wanting to attract its attention as it closed in and extended its arm.

Having moved forward when being startled I risked getting killed if I tried to go back so I used the way I stood to move forward avoiding the burly fist slamming against the floor as the Minotaur grunted at me.

I started to run not from fear but from wanting a better place to fight the damn big ass thing not in such a little cavern where I couldn't move.

That's what led me to the place I remembered coming to on my first day exploring the dungeon. The dead end is infested with War Shadow spawns.

I stopped and turned to face the Minotaur who stopped as well admiring the room. I took the time to access the Minotaur before looking at its eyes.

I didn't feel scared surprisingly like how Bell did in the original I felt…excited as I felt a new wave of strength fill me I kept staring as I couldn't stop a devious smirk that had been popping up more across my face as I unsheath my blade and stare at the golden yellow sparkles.

'What?' My attention was taken as the Minotaur struck taking out its anger against the floor as I moved faster than I thought I could.

'Is the Minotaur not that fast in reality?' I take a better look at my arms as they are illuminated like the rest of my body as of right now. It was sparks of electricity.

'It's magic! But how am I using it oh god my magic is running low.' I tried turning it off and I felt the sparkles begin to fade as I saw the Minotaur run faster than I thought again trying to crush me. I dodged once more as I tried to take a breath only to receive a small gash on my left arm courtesy of a War Shadow I was unaware of.

I kicked the War Shadow away as I stared at the wall as War Shadows started to materialize from it.

'Oh fuck I wasn't thinking about the repercussions of bringing the Minotaur here oh my Fuck!!' I thought as I dodged another War Shadow having stabbed it before jumping out of the Minotaur's fist and landing on it. The Minotaur looked startled as it grunted as I started running towards its one weak point. It's eyes!

I jumped once more avoiding its other hand slapping against the one I used to be on as I stabbed my Chokutō into the beast's eye going as deep as I could until I heard a snap and I was hit away by a War Shadow who I didn't take into account.

'Not again' I got back up off the floor and I saw the Minotaur bellow in pain I saw my Chokutō ripped from its eye as it was intended to kill me with my blade.

It was also close to breaking too cutting through all that Minotaur couldn't have been good with also me not being strong enough to help with the cut either.

I backed up as I was cornered literally by the Minotaur and the War Shadows. I take a deep breath as another light comes from me but with a distinct Fuchsia and Gold color erupting as I feel the power coursing.

I grit my teeth at the disparity of my situation. I never even got to know my skills. Plus I needed time to charge my attack anyway I had to be thankful for them walking slowly to me thinking I was nothing but downed prey to them.

'Fucking bastards' I thought before trying to put all the power into my right hand charging for one attack to kill that damn Minotaur there was one thing I was going to do with this new life would be to kill this bastard with the weird look on his shitty looking face!

I got into a position to burst out running but a commanding male voice cut my attempt at trying.

"Chigusa, Asuka, Arata, Kaito help me get the War Shadows off the adventurer Mi-" The Voice stopped as I saw the arm of the Minotaur holding my sword fall down blood splattering. I then heard the sound of someone landing next to me I turned to see a black-haired girl with a purple kimono and a ponytail.

"Are you okay?" She asked me as I nodded before replying my voice staying neutral.

"Could you buy me some time I can help you take out the big lug." I stared determinedly into her eyes as I could see doubt there at first before she steeped herself and nodded.

"If that's what you need we'll buy you some time." She turned facing the enemies her Katana in her hand.

I stood up straight as the monster started to scatter trying to kill everyone the four people who were still at the entrance were dealing with all the War Shadows with even more spawning on their side as the Minotaur was left with us.

"Did you cause the Minotaur's damaged eye?" The woman said as I nodded as the Minotaur roared causing us to freeze as it started to run towards us.

"Mikoto!" At the yell of her name, I unfroze moving forward as I heard her call a faint "no" As I passed her I used all the charge I had saved up to try to stop the Minotaur charge but failed having been thrown by the Minotaurs horns throwing me to the wall breaking most of the armor on me as I landed on the ground.

I heard the yell of no as I looked at the woman who now I know is Mikoto slashed at the Minotaur only for it to move out of the way only having a part of its horn cut off.

She backed off from the Minotaur as she started to charge the Minotaur.

I started to fade in and out of being unconscious. I clenched my hand as I saw the glow continue to grow and lighten my arm. I got up slowly as I saw my blade in the Minotaur cut off my arm as I started to shuffle towards it.

I soon hunched over and started coughing up blood as I went back to shuffling towards the sword hearing the battle taking place all around me.

I quickly grabbed my blade and started to use all my strength to run towards the Minotaur having gained a lot of injuries due to Mikoto's constant attacks. Thought the same could be said about Mikoto as she was injured from having a couple of War Shadows sneak up on her.

I felt another surge as I saw electricity start to spark around my skin I ran faster than I thought I could as I pushed myself towards my limit.

"NOW!!!" I yelled as Mikoto got my warning as I started to wind up a slash she started to run as well. She returned her blade to her sheath readying to pull it off for a technique that was shown in the anime I saw.

Not knowing what to do the Minotaur roared once more to try and paralyze us but neither of us faltered in the end we ended the Minotaur with two slashes towards its mid-section as I loaded up all my power towards it.

I couldn't see it but I heard the meaty sound of flesh hitting the floor before hearing an explosive dispersion the monsters had.

I looked at my blade crumbling to the floor leaving me with the handle. I sat down as I saw all the War Shadows got destroyed instantly.

I couldn't help but smirk in pride at what happened as Mikoto approached me with a helping hand.

"Are you okay?" She asked me as I nodded and smiled.

"Yeah just a little tired." I accepted her hand and got up with her help as I saw a long golden-haired girl walking towards us her sword now sheathed.

I looked at my handle as I sheathed the broken blade.

"Are you two alright." She asked as I nodded and Mikoto answered her with a reply.

"Yes, we teamed up to take down the Minotaur." She said with pride which made me smirk at her as she returned it.

"I didn't get to see much but it's obvious the both of you are capable I do have to apologize it was my fault that the Minotaur got down to this level and attacked you." The girl said. Just then three figures walked into the room.

"Ah, Ais that's where you are." A girly voice said as a girl with blonde hair in a ponytail walked up to us and upon seeing myself so beat up she asked if I was okay.

"Are you okay?" She asked as I just nodded. But as I did she started to chant when she finished I flew green as well as Mikoto as we looked at each other and then at the girl.

"Thanks," I replied.

"Thank you," Mikoto said.

'I still feel tired does healing magic help recuperate blood? I'm not sure I mean I haven't been able to get magic potions since I usually go to Miach-Sama's place but recently it hasn't been a go-to.

"We should escort you to the surface after this you should probably head up, especially with your broken armor and weapons." The green-haired elf said to me as I nodded and I saw Mikoto look at her squad walking over to them they needed to leave as well.

"Mikoto I think it's our cue to leave as well I don't think it would be wise to continue." The big man said as Mikoto nodded to him.

"Do we have to escort these small fry I mean they shouldn't be down here if they can't handle themselves." The werewolf said peeking over to look at me I just raised my eyebrow at him and he gave me a distasteful look.

"Enough Bete were the ones who caused this in the first place so lead." She pressed her staff on him as he grumbled and started to lead the way everyone followed.

I found myself in the middle of the pack since having no armor and weapon leave me the most vulnerable especially since I'm a level one as well.

"You handled yourself well against that Minotaur even though I hadn't seen much of that fight, tell me how long have you been adventuring for." I heard a voice to my left as I turned my head to face the questionable Ais Wallenstein and Lefiya Viridis who was next to her also intrigued.

"Umm well, I started adventuring when I was 12 so I'm 14 now so about 2 years now." I lied through my teeth as the Sword Princess looked intrigued while The Thousand Elf stared at Ais having a small blush on her face.

I sigh as I look away from Ais after giving her one last glance.

'We are alike Ais and I and I don't like it…if I told her the real answer to how much time I've been adventuring would I be grilled on the spot? One thing that was different about us was the power-hungry ness that she has.' I kept my gaze forward unwanting to give anyone my attention.

"Here let us escort you towards the guild we were going there anyways," Ais said as I raised my eyebrow at her, and even so did Riveria.

"Well I don't know I kinda need to replace my stuff and I lost all my magic stones when that Minotaur…" I grunted the last part out as I realized my pouch was destroyed and ripped up during my fight with that damn bull.

"Yes so this would get you some Valis wouldn't it." I look over as Lefiya pulls out the Minotaur's magic stone from a pocket of hers.

"Alright then," I said as I got back into the rhythm of the group.

Until Ais started to speed walk towards a stab that made Bete who was leading stop and look at where she went before sighing and following her to not get separated or for something else heh.

We followed to see Ais ordering from a Potato stand the woman from the stand had a diminutive figure with giant breasts that made them stand out I recognized who she was as she looked over at me with wide eyes.

Before I could leave she was quickly hugging me asking me what happened.

"What the heck happened to you Bell-Kun what happened to your armor and knife!" She said as she noted not the chest piece or my knife sheath on my waist but a blade sheath

"Umm, Hestia-Sama you need to attend to your customer first I'll talk to you later." I hugged her a little harder than I meant to but I missed her embrace so I soaked up her new scent of flowers which I didn't know but it smelled nice.

"Please swing by, I couldn't tell you how much I missed you and I'm sorry for saying those things like that. I'll tell you everything I've been up to this week." I smiled at her as she smiled back.

"Alright sorry about that what did you want to order," Hestia said as there was a new pop in her step.

"Can I get…" she turned and counted the people. "11 Red bean paste potato poppers please."

"Coming right up," Hestia replied cheerfully and I smiled happy she was back to how she was.

"These taste nice," I said biting into my potato popper to have read beans pop out of them.

'I think it should be enough Valis saved up to buy furniture for the church.' I smiled at the thought before thinking of a cheap place for it.

"Hey I've got an outlandish question, do you know a good furniture store," I asked the blonde elf as she looked surprised at the question before shaking her head having eaten the last piece of her potato popper.

"Do you know of a good furniture store," I asked the other person next to me Mikoto as she looked at me with very curious and amused eyes before she pointed at the store across from us.

"Thank you," I said and she just nodded.

After everyone was finished and after Ms. Sword Princess had to order another one we left for the guild as we entered people gave us a wide berth or more like gave the 3 first-class adventurers that stepped in first.

I tried moving away from the massive group having to tap at Lefiya to get the Magic Stone but she just followed me after showing me she had magic stones in a pocket in her bag that she had to exchange as well.

"BELL CRANEL!" A voice cut through the silence as an angry half-elf stepped into the room not knowing the Loki Familia was there but having her eyes stuck on me.

"I've been trying to contact you for meetings over your reckless behavior in the dungeon especially since you've been an adventurer for two weeks!" She yelled as my eyes widened and I heard Lefiya mutter behind me.

"2 weeks but I thought you said you were adventuring for a year." She then looked at me skeptically as I heard another somewhat steely voice.

"You lied." I heard the voice of Ais cut through as everyone stopped to look at her as she looked hurt.

"Why did you lie…" She asked as I gulped as I thought of what I could do to someone like her.

"Miss Ais I'm sure he had his reason for hiding it." Lefiya stepped in front of me to try and stop Ais from advancing further.

"I…" She didn't say anything but she gave me a frown and started to leave.

"You have to open your big mouth," I mutter to myself as Eina's eyes widen before looking away feeling guilty about yelling as she noticed the attention we were getting.

I held the Minotaur's magic stone in my hand as I pressed it into Lefiya's hand who had tilted over to see me.

"You keep it…and I'm sorry for lying," I whispered only to her as she looked slightly at me before nodding.

I sighed before walking away quietly. I walked but I heard two sets of footsteps and someone dropped their bag. I look back to see Mikoto and Lefiya following me.

"Why are you guys following me?" I ask with no hostility in my voice as we walk down the street.

"Because it seemed like you needed someone," Lefiya said as she and Mikoto nodded and walked to each side of me.

I opened my mouth to reply but nothing came out. 'This is so weird are they both bleeding hearts or what…' I thought as my destination right now was to swing back home and back with the current funds I have I could probably buy replacement armor, weapon, and furniture for the church but I do need to rent out a carriage…kill me how expensive is that…man fuck poverty sucks so fucking much!' I restrained my angered thoughts as I glared at the floor wanting it to break at the intense glare.

"Mikoto I thought you would still be in the dungeon and where are the others." A guy with long black hair said as I somewhat recognized the man and I saw Mikoto per up and Lefiya looking intriguingly at the man.

"Takemikazuchi-Sama it's nice to see you and we had to come up to the surface due to some complications and the rest should be at the guild still sorry I was with some…people…" She said as I remembered none of us properly introduced ourselves.

"Oh right, we never even introduced ourselves my name's Bell, Bell Cranel it's nice to meet you." I bowed my head slightly as I saw his eyes light up slightly.

"You must be Hestia's child it's nice to finally meet you." At the mention of my Goddess both I and Mikoto tilt our heads at him as he chuckled at the synchronization.

"Yes, when I first came to Orario with my Familia I never met many other Gods, and Miach, Hephaestus, and Hestia were some of the first I'd meet in Orario." He said with a smile as he looked at Lefiya with a kind smile that she returned.

"It's nice to meet you my name is Lefiya Viridis, Takemikazuchi-Sama." Lefiya also bowed like me but all the God did was raise his hand to signal her to stop as she obliged with the request.

"We'll make sure you come back for dinner I'm making a hot pot for everyone." The god smiled before waving as we waved goodbye to him.

"Well, I didn't expect our gods to be acquainted," I said as Mikoto nodded.

"By the way where are we headed," Lefiya asked as we kept walking after the God had left.

"Oh, I have to get my money and buy replacements for everything." I sighed at the amount it would take out of my wallet, bag whatever…

"Yeah your armor did get a bit destroyed in that last fight but it made me curious about how you got that strong in two weeks," Lefiya said making me gulp slightly but as I looked at her face instead of the cold stare that I had gotten from Ais it was a warm smile.

"It's…I'm not sure it might…be a skill that I have but I couldn't have my status updated and shown so I have no clue what my Falna says." At that, both girls looked slightly shocked at the possibility of a skill like that.

"On that, I was also growing a lot faster than normal as well." We turned to Mikoto as she wore a thinking pose her finger holding her chin.

"Really…I wonder…" she said thinking to herself as we made it towards the gates separating the ruins and normal roads of Orario.

"You live around here Bell," Mikoto asked shocked as I sighed and nodded.

"Wow look at all the rubble," Lefiya said inspecting the damage of the decaying buildings.

"Yeah, my Familia is kinda poor," I mentioned as I quickly saw the church I resided in coming closer into view.

"You know you guys didn't have to be here," I said feeling slightly uncomfortable right now.

"I don't know I feel like I can relax with you two, unlike the others where I'm seriously lacking in strength."

"Are you bragging that you're stronger than us," I said with a teasing smirk as Mikoto had a smile upon hearing me.

"W-W-What I-It's not like that." She said turning slightly embarrassed.

"It is a bit strange that Lefiya-San can say such words that are kind of embarrassing." Mikoto spouted closing her eyes and awaiting the embarrassed huff and pouted like a child.

I let out a chuckle before taking their attention away from each other to me. "Here let me go grab it real quick I'm not ready to show a girl my home just yet." I winked playfully as Mikoto smiled slightly trying to hold back her small giggle as Lefiya stuck her tongue out. In all honesty, I didn't know what I was doing with two beautiful girls but normally I didn't pay attention to that detail most times and talk to them like I would normal people and it seemed to be working. I haven't made them upset…yet…

I shake that thought out of my head before jogging inside the church going to the back of it and opening the door it is made of stone and is harder to open than any normal door. I quickly grabbed my bag of coins and quickly put on my normal clothes having to strip off my black body suit that had come with the armor as I came across my heavily modified schematics of the blade I wanted to have made. I picked up the rolled-up paper and stuffed it into my pocket.

I had a feeling it would come in handy during this small shopping trip.

Walking back outside I found myself staring at both girls who were leaning on a fallen pillar talking about whatever knew I was too far and didn't care as I walked up to them their attention now on me.

"I'm ready." I started to lead the way back to Babel Tower as we conversed about random stuff…teenager stuff it made me smile and imagine all the people in my old world and how different and similar both worlds were.

We made it faster than I had expected us to be as we entered the doors to the market we passed through the high-end market with me and Mikoto looking at everything in envy while Lefiya looked at them with a different look one of comparison.

"Is there something catching your eye Lefiya?" I ask her as her gaze turns to me before thinking over what she wants to say.

"Yeah, I just remember someone in my family using a weapon like this." She said pointing at a rapier that cost 500,000 Valis.

"You use primarily magic don't you Lefiya-San?" Mikoto said as Lefiya pouted at her.

"I told you to call me Lefiya, Mikoto, and yeah but I've been thinking…no." Lefiya forfeited her thought but I asked.

"Did you want to try and pick up a weapon?" I asked as she turned to me before sucking in her cheek and nodding.

"Hmm, but I am primarily a magic user and I feel as though if I focus on something other than magic then my teachers and friends wouldn't be proud of me and I just want to stand beside them, beside her." She said as I imagined her standing next to the Loki Familia's elites.

"Then you're going to have to do better," I said walking and heading into the elevator as Lefiya looked at me skeptically.

"What you don't mean." Lefiya's eyes widened as I smiled and looked away.

"I'll buy you a blade here if you train with me." I pointed at her as she looked with wide eyes.

Mikoto cleared her throat causing me and Lefiya to realize she was there I blushed slightly embarrassed at forgetting her Lefiya turned her face to look away embarrassed as well.

"May I join you? I'm the only person in my Familia to handle a blade." I nodded towards her and I looked at Lefiya and she nodded as well.

"Hey, I have another question…" I say in the elevator as it takes us down floor by floor.

They both looked at me as I bowed to them. "Umm, could you help me with my magic," I asked knowing I was asking too much of her I kept my head down as the elevator stopped and opened the doors.

"I…sure," Lefiya said as I looked up and got closer than I thought I backed up and saw all the people looking at us.

"May I also join as well in that too…" Mikoto said once more in a voice that made me and Lefiya jump as we exited the elevator.

"Umm I just have one condition Bell, and you too Mikoto." I looked at her as we started to walk and I led the way into the store I found Welf's armor and went to where it was in the back.

"What would that condition be exactly," I ask feeling myself tense up slightly as Mikoto looked at Lefiya and nodded as I saw her tense up slightly as well.

"I want you guys to show me your Falna's." That was the last thing until silence and open mouths were left in the aisle.

"What…" I say a bit speechless before Lefiya starts to explain further.

"Hey it's an exchange alright I want to know what made you so strong so maybe I can replicate it with us and maybe I can catch up with Miss Ais." She said with a pout that made me almost fall over at how anticlimactic her tone was.

"I trust you with my information Lefiya-Sa-" Mikoto stopped herself, sighed, and smiled "Lefiya please keep it safe I'll give you it whenever the time." I gaped at her as Lefiya smiled at Mikoto I looked at the top as my throat started to dry up slightly.

'Shit…I'm questioning so fucking much right now like do I even have Liaris Freese or anything else like that altered version of Argonaut fuck but I need practice with both a sword and magic…I have too I'm sorry Goddess.' I thought closing my eyes and gulping.

"Alright, I'll do it," I said as Lefiya smiled at me and I sighed almost regretting my decision instantly…..

"Where is this armor," I said out loud after some time of searching I sighed and looked at Mikoto and Lefiya who were looking around the place themselves only to find nothing.

"Damn, it's a bust alright we should find weapons," I said as I stood up and looked over to Lefiya who thought over something before responding.

"We should ask the shopkeeper first Bell and then we could find something," I look at her before nodding reluctantly.

I stood up walking up to the front counter.

"Hey sir I wanted to know if you had any of that armor I bought last week the 'Crozzo' armor," I said it made Lefiya scrunch her eyebrows slightly but let the feeling die off fast.

The shopkeeper looked at me before looking outside the store and pointing to where he looked. I turned my head in the direction he pointed at to see a red-haired man carrying a box of the same armor I wore.

'That's convenient.'
