Chapter 9: Murder Family
The next day in the lobby of I.M.P, Moxxie is holding a red crossbow in his hands. In front of him is a picture of a smiling family: a father, a mother, a baby and two children. His arms are shaking as the pointer hovers away from the possible target.
Then Millie "Moxxie, stop shaking. You're gonna shoot our boss' daughter!"
Laying down on the couch is Luna who is holding the picture up with one hand and is holding her hellphone on the other. Blitz is sitting on a chair close by as he pets Mimmy who is sleeping on his lap.
"You doing okay, Loona?" Blitz asks.
"Eh sure. We kind of do this all the time. It's kind of boring to be honest," Loona says.
Then Millie says to her husband, "Just take a deep breath..."
She takes a deep breath and says, "And let it out."
"But, it's a family. Under what circumstances would we ever need to kill a human family?" Moxxie dejects.
"I mean, if that's what the client wants," Millie says, shrugging her shoulders.
"Maybe like a shitty dad, " Moxxie says.
Then says in somewhat of an Italian accent, "Or a mob family. That's understandable."
Then says in his normal voice, "But to eradicate an entire innocent—seemingly in this instance—upper middle class family bloodline?" as Loona looks at the family photo and thinks for a moment.
Then Loona angrily says, "Hey! You don't know they're innocent."
Loona then points to each person in the photo, "This kid probably sets dogs on fire... Maybe this girl gets off to bullying Australian kids online... And this guy... this guy definitely watches."
"Watches what? Like stalking or something?" Blitz questions.
"I'll let you know when I have an answer for that," Loona tsays.
Then says, "But still, Loona actually does have a point, Moxxie. Much as I don't like it, there are some who act innocent, but are actually dangerous," Blitz says.
"Kind of surprising coming from you," Loona says.
"I guess it's understandable how bad it is to kill a family, even if the client pays for it, but I learned that not all people are nice and friendly," Blitz says.
He then thinks, "I remember my mom told me this when I was little. She read me this story and I asked her something."
Flashback: Many Years Ago
When Blitz is around seven years old, he is sitting on his mother's lap since he's been having trouble getting to sleep. Lucy has finished reading a story to him.
Young Blitzo asks, "Mama, why was that witch so mean to Hansel and Gretel? She was being nice to them and gave them goodies. How could she act so mean all of the sudden?"
"Well Blitzo, I understand how difficult it is, but sadly, that is kind of how life is at times," Lucy says.
"What do you mean?" Blitzo asks.
"Well, many believed that everyone has a speck of goodness within them, and so it's important not to judge people based on what you see at first glance or what you heard from others. However, not everyone is as nice as they appear to be," Lucy explains.
"Really?" Little Blitzo asks, curiously
Then Lucy says, "It's important to beware of those who only pretend to be nice and really mean you harm. Or to judge someone based on what they look like on the outside and learn more about the person on the inside."
Flashback Ends:
"That's what my mom told me. I mean, look at you guys, even though you guys are demons, you have family, friends, and such. Almost like a human," Blitz says.
"Not the right way to say it, but that's just my opinion," Loona replies.
"Exactly. Humans are full of secret nasties. It's why so many of them end up here," Millie says.
"But—" Moxxie says, about to protest.
But Millie interrupts him, "Guilty and innocent aren't our business, Mox."
Then cuffs her husband's cheeks and shakes them, "Killing who were paid to is our business. Choose a target."
She then gives Moxxie a kiss on his cheek and steps back.
After the moment, Moxxie then aims the crossbow at the target.
"I just think it's a bit excessive and we could be a bit more selective, is all," Moxxie says.
Just then, Randall barges into the office, "Hey guys, Sorry that I'm late!"
Startling Moxxie, he accidentally fires the arrow and it bounces over the wall. Millie jumps into Moxxie's arms as the arrow hits the computer. The arrow flies through the picture, making a hole while Loona is stunned. And continues to bounce along the walls and furniture. Just then, Sarge comes out of the office and catches the arrow with his hand.
Sarge calmly turns to Randall and says, "Randall, you're late. You were supposed to be back from your break an hour ago."
"Sorry sir, but traffic was shit, and using the bus was so boring, so I decided to walk the way back" Randall says.
"Of course you did," Moxxie says, rolling his eyes.
"Well, now that we're done with practice we should finish up what we have before work is done for the night," Sarge says.
Loona asks, "So who's next?"
"I think we're supposed to do Mrs. Mayberry's target. Martha Harris. She's the only one on the list," Blitz says.
"Sounds easy. Didn't you say that she just left the hospital not long ago?" Randall asks.
"Yes. I did," Blitz says.
"Which means it will be easy for Moxxie and Millie to handle, and to give you a good demonstration on what we can do," Randall says.
"Huh?" Millie replies, confused.
"Simple, you and your husband can take Bliz with you to kill that stank, and show him what we do as assassins," Randall says with a grin on his face.
"Are you sure that's a good idea?" Moxxie asks.
"Why not? You're just going to shoot her and you'll be done," Randall says.
Millie turns to Blitz, "You want to join us?"
"Well, I don't know. I don't want to get away from your work," Blitz says, reluctantly.
"Oh don't worry yourself. You won't be in the way. All you're going to do is stay quiet and watch your caretakers work," Randall says.
"Um okay," Blitz replies.
Then turns to Moxxie and Millie, "But are you two okay with it?"
"I don't mind. It will help to show you how we do our work," Millie says.
"But you have to remember to stay quiet, stay close to us, and be careful," Moxxie says.
"Alright," Blitz replies.
"Luckily," Berry says.
The group turns to see Berry using the chalk to draw the pentagram on the wall. It glows red and creates the portal to the human world.
"I've already got the portal open," Berry says.
"Alright then, I'll come with you guys to help give our friend a demonstration," Randall says.
Then pushes Moxxie, Millie, and Blitz through the portal as they walk through it themselves. Soon, they look at a small red house with a long red fence by the lake as the sun sets.
"Let's get into our disguises before we head to the house," Moxxie says.
Millie and Randall nod their heads and all three change into their human disguises.
Blitz is surprised to see Randall is in a human disguise. Randall's human disguise is a skinny man with beige color skin, slightly messy dirty blond hair, green irises with white sclera. He is also wearing the same outfit, but adjusted to hit his human body.
Randall looks at Blitz and asks, "Like what you see?"
"Uh, I suppose. I didn't know you can change to a human too," Blitz replies.
"Well, we need to so we won't get caught by humans," Randall replies.
"Oh," Blitz replies.
Millie turns to Blitz and whispers, "Follow us."
Blitz nods his head in reply.
The group then sneak to the side of the house as they rise from the bushes, under a garden box outside the window.
Randall looks through the window and says, "That's gotta be her. This seems too easy."
Then turns to Moxxie, "Yo Mox, you want to take this one."
"Me?" Moxxie asks.
"Yeah. This seems simple for you to handle," Randall says.
Moxxie looks through the window and is shocked to see the family of four are at the dinner table and ready for dinner. There is a small girl with brown pigtails and wears a purple blouse and black skirt. Next to him, is a young boy wearing a hat that has a raccoon tail, and a white shirt.
Soon, a blonde haired woman, Martha, is wearing a white blouse with red polka dots, and blue pants walks to a man named Ralphie, who has brown hair and a red shirt. They both affectionately rub each other's noses as the woman is holding a dinner plate. Seeing this is making Moxxie nervous.
Then hears Randall say, "You snooze, you lose, Mox."
Moxxie turns to see Randall holding a sniper and aims it towards Martha's head.
Randall aims the sniper and says, "Aaaand I've got ya, bitch."
But Moxxie quickly panics, "Wait... Are we actually killing a family?!"
"No, don't be a puss. We're just killing a mother," Randall says.
Then position the sniper, "We're ruining a family!
"But... hold on hold on. Let's just think about it," Moxxie quickly says and lifts the sniper up, making Randall miss his shot.
The bullet ends up shattering the glass mirror in the house, causing the family to gasp in fear.
"What was that, Ralphie?" Martha asks, sweetly.
Ralphie shakes his head and says, "I don't know, Martha. But whatever it is..."
Ralphie then reaches under the table and pulls out a rifle.
"They're gonna be tomorrow night's dinner!" Raphie says with an evil grin.
Martha sets the platter on the table and brings out another rifle. She then drinks a glass of wine and smashes it on the floor.
"Alright, kids! Guns out!" Martha says.
The boy pulls out a small gun from his hat and the girl pulls another rifle. They all show evil grins and sharp teeth.
"Looks like we got some rabbits to catch, young'uns!" Ralphie says and lets out an evil chuckle.
Still outside, Randall is not pleased with Moxxie botching the job, more like pissed off.
"What the FUCK was that, Moxxie?!" Randall asks in anger as Moxxie takes deep breaths.
Moxxie lets out a croak with his tongue and falls to his knees with his hands over his face, "I'm sorry. They just seemed so wholesome and happy."
Then tears fall from his eyes, "I panicked."
Randall facepalms and says, "Oh, who the fuck is innocent, Moxxie? From the moment of birth, you're already a parasite leeching off your momma's tits."
But Blitz says, "Hey Randall, don't you think you're being a little hard on him."
"Blitz, this is our job we're talking about! He and Millie have been employed to us for almost a year and he is still acting like a fuckin wuss. He needs to get the fuck over it and get his act together!" Randall angrily says.
Suddenly, Blitz hears a click coming from inside.
Blitz gasps and pushes Randall as he shouts, "Get down!"
Just then, a blast of the gun shoots through the window and just misses Randall as Blitz pushes him away and Blitz quickly stumbles back.
"Aw shit!" Randall panics.
Then shouts, "SCATTER!"
Randall, Blitz, and Millie flee the scene while Moxxie quickly hides in the bushes. Then another hole appears from the blast. Martha and Ralphie leap through the large hole with their guns, and run out to find the targets. Moxxie peers out of the bushes to quickly look around. Before he can get away, one of the kids grabs Moxxie by the back of his jacket and pulls him away.
Meanwhile, Ralphie continues to fire at Millie who flips backwards towards the docks. Then dives into the lake.
"Where'd you go, little critter? Y'all can't hide long from me," Ralphie says, aiming his rifle at Millie as he walks towards the docks.
Millie swims up to the surface with a dagger in her mouth. She then breaks through the docks and lands on it with her knife in her hand and grins. Ralphie swings a glass bottle at Millie, but she quickly runs behind him and jumps into the air with two knives in her hands. Raphie quickly swings the bottle upward, and knocks Millie in the head. Millie yelps and falls into the ground. She struggles to stand, but soon collapses on the docks.
Ralphie begins to approach Millie and lets out an evil chuckle.
Elsewhere, Moxxie soon regains consciousness and opens his eyes. He lets out a gasp with a squeak to find himself tied up to a chair that has a stitched up dead body. His face falls into fear when the little boy and girl appear with red eyes and devious sharp grins on their faces.
Moxxie tries to settle the situation and says, "Oh. Well hello there, little ones. Aren't you cute?"
They both quickly speak with low creepy tones, "It's nice to have a new critter to play with."
Moxxie soon gazed up in fear at the red light. To his shock the light reveals a human head high up with limbs on plaques. He soon looks around to see the walls and table are decorated with human corpses, there's even a dead human body on a platter with an apple in its mouth and human organs in a bowl close by.
Moxxie says, softly shocked, "Oh... crumbs."
Somewhere in the forest, Blitz and Randall dash through the forest and the bushes and run through the forest.
"She's catching up to us!" Blitz panics.
"I fuckin know. You'll go left, I'll go right," Randall says.
Blitz and Randall quickly split up. Soon, Blitz hears gunshots and realizes that Martha is now going after him. Blitz continues to run as heast as he can. He then slides down the hill and quickly ducks behind one of the trees.
Then he hears Martha in a singing-like tone, "I know you're hurting' little devils."
Blitz quickly hides behind the tree as he takes deep breaths. Then quickly covers his mouth.
Soon, Martha comes walking back and continues to call out in a singing voice, "I promise that I can make that pain go real quick. Just come let Mama Martha put a bullet in your pretty little skull!"
Knowing that Martha is gone, Blitz takes a deep breath and sighs in relief.
Then softly says to himself, "That was too close. I remember that Mrs. Mayberry said that Martha isn't a hero, but I didn't expect her to be this crazy."
"No kidding," Randall reples.
Blitz looks up to see Randall in the tree a short distance away.
Randall grits his teeth in anger, "I had that fucking shot. God dammit, Moxxie."
Suddenly, bullets come flying through the trees, causing Randall to fall down from the tree and land in the bushes.
Blitz shouts, "Run for it!"
Blitz and Randall quickly run off from their hiding spot as Martha continues to fire her rifle towards them. Luckily, the bullets haven't hit them yet. Suddenly, Randall lets out a scream and falls to the ground. He sits up and turns to see his ankle has been caught by a bear trap.
"Fuck!" Randall shouts in frustration.
Suddenly, he turns to see Martha who swats her rifle at Randall, knocking him out.
A little distance away, Blitz continues to run through the woods. After running, Blitz is able to hide behind a thick tree and looks around to see Martha isn't around.
He looks around and says to himself, "I gotta find Randall, Moxxie, and Millie, and make sure that woman doesn't find me."
Blitz takes a peek from his hiding spot. He looks in one direction, and then looks in another direction. Blitz is about to get away from the hiding place, but ends up bumping into someone, and fears it's someone who he thinks she is. Before he has time to react, Blitz finds himself pinned to the tree by the butt of Martha's rifle
"Gotcha!" Martha says.
Then says, "So, you're a little devil, huh? Come to drag me and my kin to Hell? Well, not today, Satan!"
She presses the gun harder to Blitz as she says, "Gonna send y'all back to where ya came from!"
Back in the house, Moxxie struggles to break the ropes that tied his hand behind his back. He soon looks up to see fire being lit outside.
Moxxie gasps, "Millie!"
Moxxie continues to struggle to break his ropes as the two kids stare at him with evil grins. He then notices the girl pulling out a sharp knife. Seeing the blade, he shows a determined face as the girl raises her blade. But before she can strike, Moxxie pushes the chair back and knocks them both to the ground. Moxxie then uses the blade to free himself and breaks the window holding the gun. He then jumps through the window and runs to the forest to save his colleagues.
Meanwhile, somewhere in the forest, Blitz, has been tied to a stake that was decorated with spikes. Ralphie pours a canister of gasoline on the bottom of their feet while Martha is a short distance away holding a torch. Millie and Randall are both firmly tied to the tree close. There's also an axe pierced to a stump close by.
Randall struggles to break free of the rope and says, "I fuckin had that shot. When I get my hands on that stupid husband of yours."
"Don't you even dare!" Millie angrily says.
Then worriedly asks, "I don't get it, why tie Blitz separated from?"
"If I have to guess, these guys are Satanist cannibal worshipers or something. Since we're humans, they think of killing us another way. They have other plans for Blitz, regretfully to be honest about it," Randall says.
And speaking of Martha, she looks and dresses differently now. She is wearing skull earrings, jeans and a low-cut shirt with polka dots, and her eyes are red, and her hair is messy.
Martha calls out, "Satan! We return your filthy creature back to the pits of Hell!" and raises the torch.
Blitz struggles to break free, but the rope has wrists tightened on to the stake.
"May the root of evil remain honored as we continue thy work!" Martha calls out, and throws the torch to the ground where it lands under the three tied up.
With evil laughter, the flames rise around Blitz but are unharmed. However, Blitz begins to grit his teeth and closes his eyes shut. Feeling like he's in pain.
Then Randall says, "Yeah, that's not exactly how it works, lady. Sorry, your fire doesn't actually hurt him, but I mean I could convince him to fake it if that'll get your dick hard."
Millie and Blitz chuckle under breath. However, they notice Blitz doesn't seem to like the fire. Almost like the fire is hurting him.
"Oh. Shit," Martha comments.
She rolls her eyes and says, "Well…"
Then evilly grins as she brings out her rifle, "...I'll just shoot you in your smart-ass mouth!"
"That would be more effective," Randall says.
"Randall!" Millie angrily scolds.
Martha laughs evilly as she aims her rifle and points it at Millie and Randall to kill him first. Randall and Millie close their eyes and flinch. Suddenly, Martha lets out a yelp to hear a gunshot and is shot on the head that her eye flies out of her socket. She then collapses on the ground, and dies instantly to reveal that Moxxie has shot her with Randall's sniper.
Millie happily says, "Moxxie!"
Moxxie then runs over and begins to untie them from the stake.
"You are so going to fuckin' get it when I tell Sarge about this mess up, Mox!" Randall angrily says.
When Moxxie unties them, Randall falls to the ground as Moxxie quickly pulls Millie into his arms. Millie embraces him and both Imps rub their heads with smiles on their faces. Frightened, Ralphie ends up tripping over Martha's lifeless body and flees the scene. Soon, Moxxie and Millie rush to Blitz and quickly untie him and get him away from the fire.
"Are you okay, Blitz?" Moxxie asks.
"I think so. That was rather scary back there," Blitz says.
Then grits his teeth to feel the pain from the fire.
"Are you okay, Blitz?" Millie asks in concern.
Randall stands up and sarcastically says, "Oh yeah, thanks! I'm fine!"
Then Moxxie says, "I'm sorry, Randall. I compromised our objective and put us in harm's way. It won't happen again. I promise."
"Apologize accepted Moxxie," Randall says with a grin.
Then glares at him, "However, if you fuck something like this up again, I'm going to break every bone in your…"
"Blitz, are you okay?" Millie asks, concerned.
Moxxie and Randall turn to notice Blitz is sitting on the ground and notices Blitz rubbing his arms and still gritting his teeth in pain.
"Oh my crumbs! Blitz, are you okay?" Moxxie asks, concerned.
He and Randall rush to Blitz and kneel down to him.
"You look like you're in pain," Randall says.
"I'm okay, I just need to give myself a few minutes, and to at least take a cool bath when I get back to the house," Blitz says.
"You sure you don't need to see a doctor?" Millie asks.
"I'm okay. This isn't the first time I felt this kind of pain, but it wasn't as bad as the fire…" Blitz explains and sadly sighs, "That killed my dad and my brother and sister."
"And it also hurt my mom and got me blotches on my face," Blitz says.
Randall replies, "But that doesn't make sense. Usually Imps are not vulnerable to the fires of this world."
"Could living in this world make you a bit vulnerable to their fires?" Millie wonders.
"Maybe, When I get burned and such, it feels like stinging. The one I just experienced feels like getting splashed with scalding water," Blitz says.
"Ouch," Randall replies.
Just then, Moxxie says, "Eh, yeah give me a moment. I need to get something I left at the house."
"Okay, fine, but hurry up," Randall says.
He then picks his hellphone and calls Loona.
Then answers, "Loona! We're ready to come back!"
Moxxie then runs through the forest to get back to the house.
Meanwhile, back in the house, Ralphie is with his two children. His children then hurried to his father as he hugged them.
When Moxxie holds out the gun and says, "Don't move!"
Ralphie chuckles and says, "What are you gonna do little guy? Kill us?"
"I should! You people are monsters!" Moxxie shouts.
Then says to Ralphie, "But... you should have a chance at life and a purpose. Look at your children. They have their whole future ahead of them! You are going to face your crimes, justly."
He then picks up a phone, "I will call your earthly authorities and they will make sure you are dealt with, fairly. I'm handling this, my way."
He presses the button and it ends up turning on the t.v
"Oh, shit," Moxxie mutters, and looks to see he has a t.v remote.
Moxxie then asks, "Uh, do you have a phone to summon 911?
Ralphie points his thumb in the direction, "Yeah, it's in the kitchen."
"Then, what is this for?" Moxxie asks, holding the remote.
"It's a universal remote. Got it for the kids," Ralphie says, and hugs his children.
"Aww," Moxxie happily replies.
Soon enough, Moxxie returns to where the portal is, and the others are ready to head back.
"Hey Moxxie, glad you're back," Blitz says.
Then Randall asks, "Have a good wank-off session, Moxxie?"
"Excuse me?" Moxxie asks, confused.
"Look, I don't care where you cum in the living world. Just come to your job on time, alright?" Randall says and pokes Moxxie a few times and pinch his cheek.
"See you at the office!" Blitz adds and goes through the portal.
Millie places her hand on Moxxie's cheek and asks, "You doing okay, sweetie?"
"Better, now, honey. I think I just needed a minute to process," Moxxie says.
Millie then touches Moxxie's chest, "You have a good heart, honey."
Then playfully pinches his nose, "Just a fuzzy head."
She then kisses Moxxie and he smiles lovingly. Then Millie walks through the portal and Moxxie and Blitz soon follow after them. Soon, the portal closes behind them.
Meanwhile, two police cars and a helicopter outside of the house.
Someone shouts through a loudspeaker, "We got em' boys!"
A missile has been launched through the roof of the house and it explodes into an inferno.
The group has a long day, and with their last mission for the day, the group head home for the night to rest. Despite the hitches, the demonstration has been chaotic and yet, successful.
After they get back, I.M.P decide to celebrate their accomplishment of killing Martha with a small party. Even Mrs. Mayberry joined in. They're all wearing party hats, a cake that reads 'WE DID IT!' and a banner that reads. Sarge isn't one hundred percent sure a party is necessary, but the others seem okay with it, so why not.
Millie happily says, "You see my little Mox, Mox!"
She then hugs her husband and says, "We did it! Oh Moxxie!"
"Well, here's to another mission accomplished! And Moxxie here finally learned not to fuck up," Randall says.
Millie then rubs Moxxie on the head and says, "And killing people isn't that big of a deal if they try to kill you back!"
"That's messed up," Mrs. Mayberry comments.
Then says with a grin, "But I paid for it!"
Soon, everyone begins laughing.
And Randall comment, "Yeah, fuck that family!"
