The Stabbington Brothers, yes that is their name, somehow managed to convince me to steal the Lost Princess' crown. As much as I'd turn them down, they always promised me 'greater money for the crown.' Since I had nothing else to do, I agreed.

Now, my agreeing was solely for the view of the castle. I really love castles, you should know. I've always been drawn to them. How big they are, how fabulously decorated they are, how many guards inside to keep everyone safe, that kind of thing. Plus, there are large portraits, and I always thought it'd be great to see me in one of those.

But, I also went for the adventure. Like I said, I wasn't doing anything, so I thought it'd be fun.

Anyway, we scaled the walls, keeping out of sight of the people and the guards. They seemed to have upped security since our last thieving, the king's royal goblet, so scaling the walls and using the roofs was our best option.

We stopped on top of the castle, on one of the farthest towers. "Wow, I could get used to this!" I exclaimed.

"Flynn, quit playing around," Sideburns said. Not sure if that's actually his name. I just call him that because he has lovely sideburns. He's never corrected me on it. I inhaled. "Yep, I'm used to it. You know what? I want a castle."

"You can get your own castle once we finish the job," Sideburns growled. They've never liked me much. I'm not quite sure why they still hang out with me actually.

The sound of my own castle! That sounds wonderful! I go along with them the rest of the way to get the crown for the castle he joked about. I don't care he was saying that to get me to go, maybe I will use the crown to get my own castle!

We stopped above a small sunroof above the crown room. "Okay, Flynn," Sideburns said. "We're gonna lower you down and you have to get the crown."

"Why do I have to do it?" I asked. "Why can't he do it?" I asked, pointing at Patchy. I call him that because of his eye patch. Again, he doesn't care. They both just stared at me. My smile faded a little. "Okay, fine!" I grumbled. "But you better not drop me! I just got my hair done!"

I tied the rope around my waist, checked to make sure it was secure, and gave the brothers a thumbs up. They gripped the rope a little tighter as I walked over to the gap in the roof. I sat on the edge and looked down. Inside, on a velvet pillow, I see the crown. There are two guards nearby, each holding a spear. I slide off the roof and the Stabbington Brothers lowered me down, carefully.

Once I was down far enough, a guard sneezed. "Hay fever?" I asked.

"Yeah," the guard replied.

He turned around and saw me. By then, I was holding the crown, stuffing it into my satchel. He turned back, then quickly turned around.

I had tugged on the rope, so the brothers pulled me back up. "Hey, wait!" the guard cried. "Wait!"

"Can't you picture me in my own castle?" I asked, untying the rope around my waist and shoving it into my satchel. "Certainly, I can. The things we've seen and it's only eight in the morning! This is a big day, gentlemen!"

They just scoffed and continued running. We jumped across the same roofs, leading us outside the kingdom. I stopped next to a tree to catch my breath. "Hold up, slow down, guys," I panted. I looked up and saw wanted posters of us. The Stabbington Brothers have wonderfully drawn portraits. Mine, however...

My poster has everything right except for my nose. "No, no, no! This is bad!" I cried. "This is really bad!" I tore the poster off the tree. "They just can't get my nose right!" The nose they gave me is large and hooked.

"Who cares?" Sideburns asked.

"Well, they got you guys really well! I mean, look at you! You look incredible!" I complained, pointing at their poster. They started running off without me. I turned around, hearing the sound of hooves, saw a glimpse of a white stallion, shoved the poster in my satchel, and followed the Stabbington Brothers.

We stopped in front of a cliff. "Well, that's just great," Patchy muttered.

"Here, give me a boost," I said, turning around.

"Give us the crown first," Sideburns demanded.

"Woah, hey," i said. "After all we've been through, you still don't trust me?"

Sideburns held his hand out and narrowed his eyes at me. They both said nothing. "Ouch," I replied. I took the satchel off and handed it to him. Patchy carried Sideburns on his shoulders. I climbed them, sneaking off the satchel, and climbing up over the top of the cliff. "Now pull us up, pretty boy," Sideburns said.

"Sorry," I smirked. "My hands are full." I held up the satchel and ran off. This'll teach them for not trusting me. "Flynn!" Sideburns cried after me, even though I had already bolted off. Now we'll see who's untrustworthy!

I heard horse hooves behind me again. They must have found another way up, otherwise that makes no sense! Maybe they're power horses, who can climb walls! Maybe that's how they caught up with me so fast!

However, the white horse ran too fast for me to keep up a good distance away from him, so I grabbed a vine hanging from the nearest tree, swung around on it, and knocked the Captain of the Guard off, landing on the horse's back. "Come on, fleabag! Giddy up!"

The horse stopped and glared at me, before he started chomping at my satchel. "No!" I said. "No, no!" He grabbed it with the tip of his teeth. I pulled it, before it slipped out of both our grips and landed on the lowest branch of a root of a tree.

We fought our way to it, the horse pulling me down. I got revenge on him and pushed him over and ran onto the root. He tripped me. On instinct, I grabbed the root with my hands and legs, holding onto it as tight as possible so I won't fall.

The horse started stomping towards my hands, obviously trying to crush my fingers, so I crawled faster and faster away from him, swinging onto the lowest branch and grabbing the satchel. "Ha ha!" I cheered, showing it to him.

That's when there was a snap sound and the root fell. Both the horse and I held on, looked at each other, and screamed. It broke on a rock and we fell in opposite directions.

I rolled on the ground, getting my vest dirty, and slid on my face. "Eh, blegh!" I said, spitting out grass and dirt. "Well, that was lovely!" I dusted my vest off and checked the satchel. I didn't get to open it though, as I heard that darn horse's cry. I ran and hid behind a rock.

There, I found a wall covered in vines. I tried to lean my hand on the wall, only for it to go through. I pushed the vines a little, only to see that there is a large empty space behind it. But, there's no time to admire it! I gotta get out of here!

I find my way through the vines. On the other side is a large tower, covered in moss, and a small stream nearby. But, in desperation to get away from that horse, I decided to climb the tower. It's the only way.

Good thing I snatched arrows from that horse! I can use these to climb it!

At the top of the tower is a single room with a flight of stairs. Seeing it empty, at least, thinking it was empty, I opened the satchel, and looked inside to see the crown is still inside and in one piece. "Ahh, alone at last!" That's when it went dark.
