Chapter 45: Warm Light Magic in the Snow

In the I.M.P Office, Sarge is meeting with a client. The client is a male and a female, like a couple. They both have icy blue skin, while the male has periwinkle hair, and the other is long white hair. They both also have winter theme clothes, blue, sapphire, snow white, cyan, blue, and even glowing icy blue.

"So let's see if I can understand correctly. You two want us to kill three girls who have wronged you?" Sarge questions.

The boy, named Jack says, "That's correct. My girlfriend, Snowdrop and I were in the mountains with our classmates. However, the group of girls decide to trick Snowdrop into going out even though there is a snowstorm and it's very cold. As it turns out, they did it to get her out of the way so they can hit on me."

"Jack and I are a couple and the girls, Stacey, Fauna, and Jeanie became jealous and wanted me out of the way. However, I didn't expect Jack to come after me. And we ended up being caught in an avalanche. The next thing we knew, we ended up here. So we wanted revenge against them for what they've done," The girl, Snowdrop says.

"Of course. We just need a location and what these girls look like," Sarge says.

"Okay," Snowdrop says.

"We also got word that they're heading to the lodge where the trip is supposed to be on, the day we died," Jack says.

Then Snowdrop gives Sarge, the paper, "Here are the pictures and names of the girls, and the lodge."

"Okay, we'll get to work right away," Sarge says, and takes the papers from Snowdrop's hands.

Soon enough, the couple leaves the office. Then Sarge comes out to meet up with his employees.

"Alright. Moxxie, Millie, Razor, and Randall, you'll be sent to assassinate three women for our clients," Sarge says.

"You got it, boss," Razor says.

"So where are we heading to today?" Millie asks.

"You four will be heading to the Violet Mountain Lodge. It's going to be pretty cold over there, so make sure you dress warm," Sarge says.

"Violet Mountain Lodge. I remember that place. I remember going there with my family when I was a kid, and turning my teen years.," Blitz says.

"Really?" Loona asks, curiously.

"Yeah. I love snowboarding over there, but I'm not much of a skier. My family and I had a great time over there, and we had so much fun, especially with snow fort and snowball fights," Blitz says.

"Great. Maybe you can come with us to deal with those bitches," Razor says.

"Okay, but don't expect me to kill anyone," Blitz says.

"Whatever you say," Randall says, shrugging his shoulders.

Soon enough, the five jump through the portal in their human disguises and arrive at the Violet Mountain Lodge. There is a large lodge with a ski lift, slopes for snowboards, skis, and a large flat area to play in the snow. There are many different people having a good time in the snow.

"So then, how are we going to find them?" Millie asks.

"Well, those girls you've mentioned could be anywhere. They could either be in the lodge, the slops, or the food stands," Blitz says.

"I suggest it would be best if we split up and find them. Then we notify the others if we find them," Moxxie says.

"And we'll have to be very discreet while we're here. There are too many people on the slopes so we have to make sure we do this quietly and swiftly," Razor says.

"Sure," Randall says, shrugging his shoulders.

Then turns to Blitz, "Hey Blitz, maybe you can hit the slopes while we do our work, since you're not part of the killing job."

"Okay," Blitz says.

Blitz then heads off to the slopes while Razor and the others split up and find the three girls they need to kill for their work. Blitz then walks to one of the wooden buildings and rents himself a snowboard for him to use to hit the slopes.

Meanwhile, Razor and the others begin to search around for the three girls. They search in the lodge, the cafeteria, some of the rooms, and other locations. Soon enough, Moxxie and Millie see the three girls. One of them has long blonde hair, the second has short medium brown hair, and the last girl has waist length black hair. All of them are dressed in snow clothes and are heading outside with some skis.

"There they are," Millie says.

"They appear to be heading out," Moxxie says.

"Let's follow them," Razor says.

With that, the four demons in human disguises begin to head out of the lodge and follow the girls to the ski lift. The four watch as the three girls get on the ski lift and are carried to the top of the lift.

"There they go. Let's follow them," Randall says.

Moxie looks ahead, "It appears Blitz is going there too."

They soon see Blitz walk up the ski lift and begin to ride it up the slopes.

"Oh we don't need to worry. Blitz will be fine. Let's just follow our targets before they get away," Randall says.

With that, the group begins to follow them up the slopes and have their weapons to strike an attack. However, as the slopes take them to a higher area of the mountains, dark clouds appear in the sky along with snow beginning to fall, along with a harsh wind.

Reaching the top of the lift, Razor and the others are ready to kill the targets.

"Alright gang, let's start killing these bitches," Randall says.

And with that the group begins to ski or snowboard down the mountain and notices the three. The group then decides to go with operation divide and conquer. In other words, they separate the targets and kill them individually.

Their first target is the girl with long blonde hair. Millie manages to snowboard in front and slides snow on her face. Then Randall uses his tail to pull her away, enough for him to stab her. Then Moxxie and Millie work together to separate the two girls, while Razor is able to shoot them with head shots from a distance. After killing the three targets, they dig a big hole and bury them in the snow.

"There we got. That was the easiest kill," Razor says.

"You can say that again," Randall says.

"I have to admit, this place looks really nice and the snowboarding was cool. Maybe we can have a little time for a few slopes," Millie says.

However, Moxxie says, "Uh, I don't think it's a good idea," And points to the sky, "Look."

Everyone looks to see the dark clouds have fully covered the sky. Followed by harsh winds and snow falling hard from the sky.

"Okay! Maybe this is the perfect time we get out of here!" Randall calls out.

But Moxxie asks, "What about Blitz?!"

"He's going to get caught in the storm!" Millie calls out.

Razor shouts, "Don't worry! I'll go find him! Everyone else, head down the mountain slowly until we reach flat ground! I'll meet you all at the lodge!"

"Okay! Be careful!" Millie calls out.

Razor gives them a thumbs up, and rides the snowboard down the mountain to find Blitz. The others begin to head down the mountain to find their way back to the lodge.

Meanwhile, somewhere down the mountain, Blitz is snowboarding slowly after being caught from the snowstorm that moves in fast.

Blitz calls out, "Razor! Moxxie! Millie! Randall! Guys! Where are you?!"

Blitz continues to snowboard down the mountain as he tries to find his way down the mountain. Blitz continues to call out to Randall and the others and try to find them, or at least find his way down the lodge. Suddenly, Blitz notices branches up ahead, but before he can react, he ends up hitting the branches, falls back, and begins sliding on the snow off of the ski path. Before Blitz knows it, he finds himself lying down in the snow. Blitz is able to sit up, and luckily his body hasn't been stunned from the fall. However, Blitz looks around to find himself even more lost.

Blitz calls out, "Moxxie! Millie! Randall! Razor!"

However, the storm is making it too hard for them to hear, and feels his body getting cold.

Blitz wraps his arms around himself and begins to shiver, "Brrr! It's getting really cold outside. I need to find a shelter."

Blitz then removes the snowboard because it's too dangerous for him to snowboard through the snow. He picks it up and uses it to help push himself back on his feet. When he tries to move, Blitz feels a bit of pain.

"Oh no. I must have sprained my ankle when I fell," Blitz says to himself.

He shakes it off and says, "I can't find my way back in this weather. I have to find a place to take shelter until the storm passes."

Blitz soon begins to use the snowboard to walk through the snow. But because of his twisted ankle, he has to walk slowly.

Meanwhile, somewhere in the blizzard, Razor continues to search for Blitz through the snowstorm. He is also wearing specially made goggles that have red lenses, it's a special goggle that can help him see through some harsh weather, like snow and rain. However, the search for Blitz is taking his toll.

Razor calls out, "Blitz! Blitz where are you! Blitz!"

However, Razor is unable to find him. Just then, the blizzard is growing more aggressive and almost knocks Razor off his feet.

Razor mutters in frustration, "Shit, the storm is getting worse. There's no way I could find Blitz in this."

He then says to himself, "I have to head back to the lodge and tell the others. We're going to need the help we can get."

And with that, Razor begins snowboarding down the mountain to get back to the lodge, and hope that Blitz will be alright.

Time has passed, and Blitz continues to walk through the storm and call out for his friends and seek shelter.

"Randall! Millie! Moxxie! Razor!" Blitz calls out

The imp continues to call out for his friends as he struggles to move through the snow. The snow piles up and his sprained ankle is not making it easy. He soon notices something dark a little to his right. He narrows his eyes and to his shock, he sees a very old small cabin. Blitz smiles and sees that he is very relieved, and begins to make his way towards shelter.

Moments later through the snow, Blitz reaches the old cabin and it looks like no one has been here in years. However, the weather is getting worse and there's no way for him to search for the others in the weather. Blitz soon opens the door to the cabin and quickly rushes inside.

Blitz looks inside the cabin to see that it looks rather old and from the looks of it, it appears to be like an old cabin that seems to be part of the lodge at some point. There is a couch, with a few sheets and pillows around. A chair, and a few cleaning supplies. It looks like it hasn't been used in years.

"I guess this will have to do," Blitz says to himself.

He then shivers as he wraps his arms around him, "I gotta keep myself warm."

Moments later, Blitz is able to find some old sheets and use them to wrap himself to keep himself warm.

Blitz sadly sighs, "I really hope the others are alright. Wherever they are. I don't even know where I am. But without anything but these blankets to keep me warm, I might not last long. My ankle hurts from the fall, and I'm so cold that it's difficult for me to move."

Blitz then begins to rub his two hands together as blows air into them. He continues to rub his arms together in order to keep his hands warm. He then cuffs his hands together and blows some air as he presses his face close to his hands, in order to have some warm air blowing to his face, but soon runs out of breath.

"I don't know how much longer I can hold out. The storm looks like it won't be clearing for a while, and the snow might be difficult for me to walk by the time it stops," Blitz says to himself.

Time has passed and at the lodge, Razor is able to return, but sadly, with no success.

Randall brings Razor a mug of hot cider, "Here Raz, I imagine you'll be turned into a cat-cicle after being out in that blizzard."

"Thanks," Razor says and takes the mug.

He grunts in frustration, "I just feel so useless, Blitz is out there in that storm all alone and I couldn't find him. Not even with my scopes that can allow me to see through the snow," and brings out his red lens goggles.

"It's not your fault Razor. But tonight, we need help finding Blitz. Every moment we stand here is another moment Blitz is trapped in that snowstorm," Moxxie says.

"But what can we do? There's no way we could find him in that storm with just the four of us," Millie says, worried.

"We'll have to gather everyone to form a search party when the storm passes. I don't want to make Blitz wait for that long, but what choice do we have," Razor says.

Just then, Randall has an idea, "Actually, we don't need to form a search party with all of us, but what if he includes One Owl."

The group eyes wide in surprise, but quickly understand who Randall is referring to.

"Stolas," Razor replies.

"Exactly. Stolas should be able to track Blitz down and open a portal to where he is. And since Blitz is officially his boyfriend, he'll be more than happy to help. And might get upset about it at first," Randall says, and shrugs his shoulders.

"Maybe, but I don't think we have another choice," Moxxie says.

"I agree," Razor says and brings out his phone. Soon he begins to type on his phone, "I'm contacting Stolas and Sarge, telling them what happened. I'm sure Stolas would agree to help and bring the book with him."

Soon, Razor sends the message to Sarge and Stolas.

"I wouldn't be surprised if Stolas either comes through the portal or we get pulled through one at any…" Randall says.

And right on cue, the portal opens up.

"... Now," Randall concludes.

And soon enough, Stolas quickly rushed out of the book with his grimoire, "I came as fast as I could! What happened?!"

Randall turns to the others and wink, "Told you."

Back in the old cabin, Blitz continues to rub his hands together as he tries to think warm thoughts. He also tries to think of warm lights, warm thoughts, and also thinks of his friends and family he has now. He soon leans back as he struggles to keep his eyes open and almost falls unconscious. Suddenly, he notices a strange red light and bright yellow glow. Blitz soon wakes up as he looks down to notice his hands are emitting a red aura around it, and his hands begin to glow.

"What in the world?" Blitz questions himself.

He turns his hands back and turns them back to see the palm of his hand.

"My hands… they're… they're glowing…" Blitz asks himself in surprise.

Blitz wonders if him thinking of warm thoughts are the reason why his hands glow. He cuffs his hands together and continues to think warm thoughts, hoping it would do something. Blitz concentrates and thinks as much as he can and begins to shed tears. Suddenly, a yellow blow shines bright and begins to die down a bit. Curious, Blitz slowly moves his hands apart and looks to see a small glowing yellow ball. Blitz softly gasps in shock and amazement and looks to see the ball of light before him.

"Oh my… Did I… did I just… did magic…" Blitz asks himself in shock.

Then says in amazement, "I just performed magic."

He then brings the ball of light closer to him and says, "The light… It feels so warm."

Blitz then uses one hand to hold the ball of light. Then use the other hand to clench the other hand with the same red aura. Then opens it to reveal another ball of bright warm light. Blitz gently allows the light to float around and is able to allow warmth to surround the room a bit. Blitz then continues to use the same method and create more balls of warm light to spread across the room.

Blitz sighs happily, "There we go. This should settle for the time beginning." He then sadly says, "I do wish there is a way for the others to find me."

After explaining the details to Stolas, well the owl prince demands it's breath, especially about Blitz being stuck in a snowstorm. After the others explain the details, Stolas already knows what to do, so the group are in Stolas' chamber and the prince opens his grimoire to find the right spell to find Blitz.

"Are you sure this spell can find Blitz?" Millie asks.

"I'm sure this spell will work. This spell is mainly a tracking spell that can show us where Blitz is at. I can only hope Blitz is able to find shelter and no longer be in that terrible storm," Stolas says, and uses his powers to turn the pages to the right section, "Here we go."

Then says, "Alright everyone, stand back. This spell is going to be a little intense."

The group quickly stands back and Stolas begins to cast his spell. He creates a magical aura from his hand and with a swift of his finger, he uses it to create a circle before him in front of the mirror as it begins to glow. Everyone watches as they see an old cabin appear in the mirror.

"Is that a cabin?" Moxxie questions.

"It appears so," Stolas says.

He uses his magic further to see Blitz inside the cabin, with the sheets wrapped around him as he tries his best to keep warm, and the Imp is fast asleep.

"There he is," Randall says.

"Glad that Blitz is able to find a place to get out of the storm, but he has to be freezing in there," Millie says.

"Well, now we know where Blitz is, let us go fetch him," Stolas says.

And with that, Stolas opens the portal and walks through it in front of the cabin in the middle of the storm. The others follow after him. Stolas open the door and step inside with the others close behind. To their surprise, they see small balls of light floating around, much to their confusion.

"What is all this?" Stolas asks himself.

He lets out his claws and allows one of the balls of light to land on it. He holds it close and feels the warmth of it.

"This light, it looks like it's made with magic, but it feels so warm and shines bright," Stolas says to himself.

Moxxie looks around and asks, "Where's Blitz?"

Millie points forward, "Maybe on that couch over there."

The others turn their heads to see Blitz has fallen fast asleep on the couch, still wrapped in the sheets. Stolas walks towards Blitz who is sleeping peacefully, which brings a smile on his face.

Stolas gently places his hand on Blitz and begins shaking his shoulder, "Blitz, wake up. Blitzy, time to wake up."

Blitz slowly moves a bit with a grunt and goran and slowly wakes up from his sleep. He lifts his head and opens his eyes to see Stolas.

Blitz says in a soft tone, "Stolas…" and soon sits up as he lets out a yawn.

He rubs his eyes and asks, "What are you… How did you get here?"

"I have my ways, darling," Stolas answers, "Are you okay?"

"I'm okay," Blitz answers, "But where are the others?"

"Here we are," Millie happily says.

"Hey guys. Glad to see you found me," Blitz says.

"Not as glad and well, surprised to see you alive and warm. How did you survive that snowstorm? It's fuckin cold out here," Randall questions, surprised and yet amazed.

"Well, after getting lost in the snowstorm and spraining my ankle, I wandered around until I found this cabin. I did my best to keep warm, but it was so cold. I wrapped myself in these sheets and blew warm air as I rub my hands together, and think of warm thoughts. And well, something weird happened…" Blitz explains.

"Weird like how?" Randall questions.

"Well, it's best to see it rather than explain it," Blitz says.

Blitz then cuffs his hands together and concentrates until the same red aura emits around his hands and a bright yellow glow appears, everyone becomes shocked to see it. When Blitz opens up his hands, another one of the balls of light appears from his hands. Then he allows it to float in the air. This is a complete shock to everyone.

"Blitz how… how were you able to do that?" Stolas asks, shocked, and yet shows signs of amazement.

"I'm not sure. I just thought warm thoughts and my hands started to glow. I can't explain it, but I've been able to make one of these one at a time. They help light up the cabin and keep the place very warm. Blitz says.

Moxxie lets another one of the lights land on his hand, "Blitz, this is… this is… I don't even know how to describe it…"

"Is there something wrong?" Blitz asks.

"Not wrong, but we're just shocked… it's not really a bad thing, but um…" Moxxie says, trying to find the words.

But Randall bluntly says, "Imps can't use magic, Blitz."

"Huh?" Blitz says, confused.

Then Razor explains, "You see Blitz, Imps can't cast magic unless they use them for disguise with a spell. But other than that, Imps aren't very powerful, so being able to cast magic like that should have been impossible."

"But hey, you have to admit, that is very impressive. An Imp that can do magic," Randall says with a grin.

And nudges Blitz' shoulder, "Good on you, Blitz."

"Uh thanks," Blitz replies, and rubs his shoulder.

"I think we had enough excitement for today. How about we discuss this more at I.M.P Headquarters and get Blitz's ankle treated," Stolas says.

Sometime later, everyone returns to the I.M.P office. Luckily, Blitz only has a sprain and it's not broken. Stolas and Sarge are both in the office to discuss the matter, especially now it reveals that Blitz can use magic. And now, Blitz is showing his friends the new spell he has learned. He does the same method and creates another ball of warm light.

"And that's how I did it," Blitz says.

Drew, Berry, and Loona are shocked and amazed to see it.

"Damn, how the fuck did you managed to do that?" Loona questions.

"We don't know, but Blitz did it on his own," Randall says.

Berry holds the ball of light in her hand, "It's so bright, and it's so warm."

"That's a very impressive Blitz. I've never seen an Imp doing magic like that before," Drew says.

"Thanks," Blitz says.

Randall thinks for a bit, "So Blitz, think you can do other kinds of magic. Like how about you can transform into a dragon or something?"

"Uh no. I don't want to transform into a dragon, nor that I know I'm able to do that," Blitz answers.

Then Moxxie points out, "And Blitz just discovered he had that ability just now, so it's a bit too soon to see what other magical abilities Blitz might obtain."

"Can't blame a guy for asking," Randall replies, shrugging his shoulders.

"Still, it's amazing that you can do that. And it does raise curiosity if you can learn how to cast more spells like that," Berry says.

"Maybe. I remember liking to perform magic tricks with my cousins and siblings when I was a kid, but it's very amazing to learn how to actually use it," Blitz says.

"Perhaps Stolas can teach you how to cast more magic and spells. And some of them will come in pretty handy when defending yourself," Drew says.

But Moxxie says, "Perhaps, but Blitz will have to be careful too. Very careful."

"And you are right, Moxxie," Sarge says.

Everyone turns to see Stolas and Sarge leaving the office, and Sarge closes the door.

"Hey boss, what were you and the prince talking about?" Randall questions.

"We're discussing Blitz, and about the strange magic he's possessing," Sarge says.

"What about?" Blitz asks.

Stolas sits next to Blitz and explains, "Blitz, I know you are well amazed and surprised that you were able to cast that spell. However, this new development could also be very dangerous."

"What could be dangerous?" Randall questions, "He just creates balls of warm lights and lets them float around the room?"

"It's not about the magic itself, Randall, it's about the fact that Blitz is able to cast magic at all," Loona says.

"Loona is right. Imps aren't the most powerful beings in Hell, and it's unusual that an Imp can cast magic the way he did. That's why we used the grimoire of magical artifacts, they help us to cast magic when we originally can't," Sarge says.

"And the fact that Blitz is able to use magic without the use of artifacts is something that Hell has never seen. And it's beyond our understanding," Stolas says.

"That doesn't sound reassuring," Loona says.

"No. But it also appears that the ability seems similar to that of a Sinner who started developing magical abilities or a newborn demon. At least it's not like how Alastor was able to obtain his," Stolas says.

"That's a relief," Drew says.

Then Millie asks, "But what were you and Sarge discussing about?"

"Well, we were discussing what to do for the matter. After all, it's unusual that Imps can use magic. We were thinking that perhaps Stolas can teach Blitz how to control that magic, and of course, it will be best to keep all this between us. No one else can know about this," Sarge says.

"I can understand why," Blitz says.

"Yes. I don't want to scare you, but it's important you keep this a secret unless it's needed. It will cause quite a stir if anyone discovers how capable you are," Stolas says.

Blitz sighs, "Feels like I'm causing more trouble than I should have."

"It's not your fault, Blitz," Stolas says, "You've been raised in the human world for so long, and been becoming exposed to Hell, the adaption is causing your body to change, and caused you to gain different immunity and different weaknesses, and it appears you have developed powers no Imp should possessed. You never knew all this could happen. None of us have."

Then Stolas places his hand on Blitz's shoulder with a reassuring smile, "Of course, it's not going to stop us from helping you."

"That's true, but I've never learned magic before," Blitz says.

"Well, I wouldn't mind teaching you how to do so, but you have to promise to not use this magic until you have more control over it, and only for when it's needed," Stolas says.

Blitz nods, "Right. I promise."

"Good. If you wish, I won't mind teaching you a few spells, of course it will be harmless and for emergencies," Stolas says.

Blitz nods his head in reply, "Sure. And hey, maybe learning about magic could be kind of fun."

"Well, magic can be fun, but it comes with great responsibility," Stolas says.

"Right," Blitz replies.

"Well then, for now, don't try to cast this spell unless it's needed, and we can set up a schedule for some magic lessons," Stolas says.

Blitz nods in reply, and is glad to have the support he can get. However, Sarge calmly stares at Blitz and wonders what other developments Blitz might obtain, and wonder if his being raised by humans for so long and starting to live in Hell are part of the reason for his unusual adaptation and mutation.
