Chapter 49: Friends and Family Gather
One afternoon in the I.M.P office, the I.M.P Crew are in the office doing their personal activities and chores while they wait for work. Even Sarge is hanging out with the group, reading the paper, even though he spends a lot of his time in the office doing stuff. Mimmy is also happily playing with her toys.
Just then, Blitz walks towards Sarge and asks, "Hey Sarge."
Sarge looks at Blitz.
"I was wondering if in a few days, if I can have the day off. It's only for a day," Blitz says.
"Of course, is something happening? Spending time with family or something?" Sarge asks.
"Something like that," Blitz answers, "In a few days is actually the anniversary of my mother's death, so my relatives and I are going to see her grave to pay her a visit."
That causes everyone to stop what they're doing and turn to Blitz to hear about his mother.
"I see. In a few days is the anniversary of your mother's death," Sarge says.
"Yes. My family and I go together to visit her grave and clean it up and such. Plus, it will give me the opportunity to uh, reintroduce Mimmy to them," Blitz says.
"What do you mean, daddy?" Mimmy asks.
"Well, the thing is, I've mentioned to them during my call about what happened to you and how I've officially adopted you as my daughter. So they're hoping I introduce you to them," Blitz says.
"But I've them before," Mimmy says.
"True, but I haven't introduced you as a little five year old Hell Kitten. In a way, it will also help you talk to them and get acquainted with them," Blitz says.
Mimmy smiles and says, "Okay daddy."
Then Blitz turns to Sarge, "So is it alright for us to go."
"Well, to be honest, I'm going to have to close the office due to some conditions going on in the building, so you're free to go there," Sarge says.
Millie turns to Moxxie with a smile. Moxxie smiles and nods his head in reply.
Moxxie then turns to Blitz, "Blitz, is it alright if Millie and I could come with you to see your mom."
"Are you guys sure?" Blitz asks.
"We don't mind at all. It's nice to visit the person who raised you," Millie says.
"Thanks I'm sure mom will be happy if you say hi," Blitz says.
Then Randall says, "Mind if I come too."
"Drew and I would like to come," Berry says.
"Yeah. I like to say hi to your mom," Drew says.
"I wouldn't mind going as well," Sarge says.
"Sure. I'm not doing anything that day," Loona says.
"I think it's safe to say that we all want to say hello to your mom," Razor says.
Blitz smiles, "Thanks guys, I really appreciate it and I'm sure mom, dad, Malcolm, and Marina would love it if you guys say hello."
"Why mention your dad and siblings?" Randall asks.
"Oh right, you guys didn't know. You see, my parents and siblings are actually at the same graveyard and are buried beside each other, so will be saying hi to my dad and siblings as well," Blitz says.
"Cool, we get to visit the graves of your human family," Randall says.
"I think it would be nice to say hello to your family and see Matt and the others," Millie says.
"I'm sure they'll be glad to see you. In fact, Candy also likes to chat with you girls," Blitz says, "I actually want to ask Stolas if he wants to come with Octavia, but he's probably busy, and I'm not sure if Octavia will be interested."
"I'm sure Stolas won't mind," Randall says.
He then grins, "Besides, you can tell your family that you're dating a prince, and I'm sure they'll love that."
"I guess, but I think they'll be happy to know that I'm happy with him and with you guys for that matter," Blitz says.
"You got a point," Razor says.
"Still, you should ask him. I'm sure he'll say yes," Millie says.
Suddenly, they hear a knock on the door.
"Who could that be?" Sarge asks.
Sarge walks to the door and opens to reveal Stolas.
"Hello Sarge, I apologize if you're busy, but I'm going to need to obtain my grimoire for tonight," Stolas says.
"One of your royal duties?" Sarge asks.
"That's correct. I only needed it for tonight for one of the Goetia Balls, so I'll be needing my book," Stolas says.
"Of course. It's understandable that you'll be needing your grimoire," Sarge says.
"Yes. It feels that I am needing my grimoire more frequently," Stolas says.
"It's understandable you have your duties to take care of," Sarge says, "But it does seem that you're having a few more assignments."
"Indeed," Stolas says.
"I'll go get your book. It's in the safe in my office," Sarge says, and walks into the office.
Stolas happily walks to Blitz, "Hi Blitz, everyone. How are you doing today?"
"We're doing fine," Blitz says.
Just then, Millie gestures her hand towards Blitz with a smile. Blitz understands what Millie is referring to.
Blitz turns to Stolas and asks, "Hey Stolas, are you busy in a few days, besides tonight?"
"Not much, just a few tasks, but in some cases I'm also free," Stolas says, "Why you ask?"
"Well, in a few days is going to be the anniversary of my mother's death and my family and I are going to visit her and my family's grave. I like to ask and Octavia would want to come if you both aren't busy," Blitz explains.
"I see," Stolas replies and thinks a bit, "But I think Octavia and I have some time to visit your family, and I would like to visit your other aunt, uncle, and cousins."
"Great. I've actually told them a lot about you, and they really like to meet you. I'm sure they'll be happy to meet Octavia too," Blitz says.
"Well then, it's a date. Not a real date of course," Stola says.
"Of course, of course," Blitz says.
Randall chuckles, "Sounds like we're going to have a lot of fun in a few days, even though we're going to a graveyard."
Later in the night, Blitz is on a video call with Candy, Andy, and Tim.
"So your friends are going to come too?" Candy asks.
"Yeah. They like to see my parents and siblings' graves and Stolas likes to introduce himself to you guys," Blitz says.
"Sounds great, especially since you told us that you and Stolas have officially become an item," Candy says.
Andy snickers, "You know, it's too bad Malcolm and Marina didn't get to meet them. I'm sure they would have a great time. Plus since your mom and Stolas like gardening, I'm sure they would like to share some good tips."
"I think you're right," Blitz says.
He then sighs, and says, "Still, it's hard to believe that it's already been over a decade since the incident, and my family's death."
"Yeah. Sure we still continue the circus and have done a great job keeping it running, but it just doesn't seem the same without Uncle Charles, even our dad agrees that the circus just doesn't feel the same without them," Tim says.
"I agree. I remember all the songs that Aunt Lucy and our mom used to sing to us when we were little," Candy says.
"Yeah," Blitz says, giving a sad response.
Andy sighs, "Yeah. I feel that we're just wishfully thinking. Still, we've done our best to get by since the incident, especially you, Blitz."
"You think so?" Blitz asks.
"Yeah. After what you've explained, you've gotten a bit stronger and able to adapt to living in Hell. Despite it being full of sinners, demons, and who knows what else," Tim says.
Then Candy asks, "Say Blitz, you sure that we're unable to go down there. I like to see Hell for myself."
"It's very tempting, but Stolas says that it's too dangerous for humans to be in Hell, and it's forbidden for various reasons," Blitz says.
"You can't blame someone for trying," Candy says.
The three soon chuckle softly, making sure they don't wake up Mimmy.
"Still, I can't wait to see the others, and for you to introduce us to Mimmy, Stolas, and his daughter," Candy says.
"Yeah. Even our parents are excited," Tim says. He soon chuckles, "To them, it's like they're getting their first grandchild."
"Yeah, but of course, Candy might be getting a grandchild too," Andy says.
"Oh yeah. I remember that you've been dating Claude for some time now Maybe around three years. He's a really nice guy. And he's been in the circus for a while," Blitz says.
Candy giggles, "He sure is. And take a look at what he gave me earlier today." and then shows a lovely silver ring that has a rose on top with a diamond in the center.
"Wow. It's beautiful," Blitz says, amazed.
"I know. It's very precious," Candy happily says.
Then Blitz says, "So I'm guessing that he finally proposed."
"He sure did. And well, after a long time of being at the circus. Claude and I have decided to retire so we can have a new start together. It will happen at least over a year or so," Candy says.
"That's good to hear. It will be sad to hear you both will be leaving, but I hope you two will have a good life together," Blitz says.
"Thank you. We'll see you and your friends tomorrow, and have a goodnight," Candy says.
"Night guys," Blitz says.
"Night," The boys reply.
Then the call hangs up.
Blitz then yawns as he places his phone on the furniture nearby and soon falls asleep in peace.
Few Days Later:
Blitz, and the others soon walk out of the portal in their human disguise. Even Octavia and Mimmy are in their disguises. Of course, Blitz is holding a bouquet of white lilies.
Octavia does the same, and her clothes are similar, but it shows that she's a little shorter than her original heights, and her eyes is white sclera with pink irises, and she has pale skin as well.
Mimmy seems to have similarities to her demon form, but she is a human girl. She has light skin. She still has her amber eyes. Her hair is mostly black, but with some brown hair. Her hair is also in buns that look like cat ears.
"So Blitz, what is this place?" Moxie asks.
"We're actually in Vermont. As of now, we're in Auraville. My family's grave is buried at a graveyard on the outskirts of town. From the looks of it, we're nearby," Blitz says.
"Works for me. Lead the way," Randall says.
"Sure," Blitz says.
And with that, the group begins to walk down the sidewalk to where the graveyard is.
Berry says, "I'm glad to see that it's a nice day today. The sun is shining bright and there isn't a cloud in the sky."
"Yeah. I'm sure that my family will be very happy to meet you guys. I wonder if they're smiling down on us right now," Blitz says.
Millie giggles, "If they are, I'm sure they'll be happy to meet us."
"Especially knowing about your boyfriend," Randall snickers.
Blitz blushes in reply.
Suddenly, they hear a familiar call, "Hey Blitz."
The group soon turn their heads to see Blitz's Uncle Matt, Aunt Lily, and his cousins, Tim, Andy, and Candy. With Candy is also Claude, performer of the Abercrombie Cirque De Eccentrical, and Candy's fiance, even Claude's dogs with them: A large Siberian Husky, a small French BullDog, a German Shepherd, a Dalmatian, and a Chihuahua.
"Hey guys it's great to see you," Blitz says and changes from his human form to his original form.
And without a second thought, the German Shepherd, Siberian Husky, and Dalmation run towards Blitz and practically pounce him causing Blitz to fall back and his back against a tree stump nearby. Then the three dogs lick Blitz's face with glee, making him laugh with a smile. Then the dogs move back, giving Blit breathing room as he wipes his face with his hand.
Claude laughs, "I see the dogs really miss you, Blitz."
"Yeah. I miss them too. It's good to see you again, Claude," Blitz says and stands up on his feet.
"It's great to see you too Blitz, and I see you brought your friends," Claude says.
Everyone either says hi or hello with good smiles on their faces.
Candy then approaches Stolas, "And I'm guessing that this is your boyfriend."
"Yeah. This is Stolas. Stolas, these are my Uncle Matt and Aunt Lily, and my cousins, Tim, Andy, and Candy. And this is Claude, he's a friend and fellow performer at the circus, and is now Candy's fiance," Blitz says.
"Hello, it's a pleasure to meet you," Stolas says.
Then turns to Octavia, "And this is my daughter, Octavia."
"Hi," Octavia says.
"It's nice to meet you, dear," Lily says.
"It's a pleasure to meet you both," Matt says.
He then turns to little Mimmy, "And you must be Mimmy."
"Uh huh," Mimmy says with a nod.
"It's nice to see you again, Mimmy," Candy happily says, "Wow. It's amazing that you're now a cute little girl. Well, a Hellcat on what Blitz says."
"Hi Candy, it's good to see you again," Mimmy happily says.
Candy picks up Mimmy and hugs her, "I have to hug her. You're just the cutest little girl I've ever seen. I'll bet your new Hellcat form is just as cute."
Mimmy giggles, "It's great to see you, and now I can give you a hug." and hugs Candy.
"She sure is," Blitz says.
"Come on, let's get the visit over with," Randall says.
Sometime later, everyone arrives at the graves of the Abercrombie Family. To their surprise, they see that the graves have been cleaned, the grass has been cutted, and fresh water has been placed.
"That's weird," Millie says.
"Look like someone else has gotten here before us," Moxxie says
Blitz soon notices each of the graves have a small bundle of white chrysanthemum.
"It must have been Aunt Cindy. She's the only other person I can think of who knows mom's favorite flowers," Blitz says.
"Cindy?" Stolas questions.
"Yeah. She's my mom's older cousin, so she's my aunt. She used to own her own flower shop when she's younger, and is still working there with her daughter in charge of the business. She and Rachel must have gotten here before we did," Blitz explains.
"Probably, I heard that Rachel's son has been in the hospital with an illness, but has been getting better. I heard that he'll be let out of the hospital by next week," Tim says.
"That's interesting," Berry says.
"Yeah," Blitz says, and kneels down to place a photograph of himself with his whole family between Charles and Lucy's grave.
He then says with a smile, "Hi mom, dad, Malcolm, Marina, it's good to see you again."
Soon, the others approach.
"We all came," Lily says.
"I guess Aunt Cindy and cousin Rachel have already done the work, but we still like to give you some flowers," Tim ays, holding a bouquet of white lilies.
"And we also brought Blitz's new friends, even though they're not of this world, and his daughter," Andy says.
Then Candy grins, "And his new boyfriend."
"Um yeah. I'm sure you'll be happy to know how my life has been, and so much I'm learning," Blitz says.
Stolas looks at Blitz and says in thought, "His father, brother, and sister were killed, and then her mother, who was badly injured from the incident, has got sick and passed away. And then we learned the truth about his birth mother's fate. How is it possible that, after everything that has happened in his life, Blitz was still able to smile like he does? I remember when he told me what he remembered about the fate of his birth mother, and about the incident that has taken his family away. And yet, Blitzo is a demon who has been raised on Earth for so long, that he feels that he in a way belongs here, having a loving family, friends, and a life here as his own."
He continues to think as he looks to see Blitz chatting with the others, "And yet, from some strange twist of fate, the company that I've allowed my book to ends up finding Blitz, and practically changed his life, and ending up changing my life in a big way. We got to know each other, we went out together, and shared our life together. It almost felt like fate had brought Blitz back to his kind after being here for so long. I'm not sure."
"Hey dad, look at these flowers," Octavia says, catching Stolas' attention.
He looks to see Blitz and Octavia are checking the flowers.
Blitz picks one of the lilies and presents it to Stolas, "What do you think, isn't it nice?"
"Yes. It is," Stolas says with a smile.
Mimmy looks at the other flowers, "Daddy, aren't these pretty."
"They sure are sweetie," Blitz says.
Mimmy giggles in reply.
Stolas smiles and adds in thought, "And yet, Blitz smile ends up making me smile along with him, and ends up making the rest of us smile as well. For everything that has happened, I'm glad that Blitz has walked into my life. I… I couldn't imagine a life without him at this point…"
Sometime later, after paying their respects, placing the flowers in the pot, and talking and chatting among themselves, everyone is soon having a picnic lunch, thanks to Candy and Lily for making lunch for everyone.
"The food is really good," Millie says.
"It sure is," Berry says.
"I love these sandwiches," Randall says.
Blitz then hands Mimmy a sandwich, "Here you go, Mimmy."
"Thank you, daddy," Mimmy says.
Everyone continues to chat and talk among themselves. Candy also says that she likes Octavia's dress and beanie, which makes her blush a bit. Lily and the others are also giving Mimmy some attention, and treat her like she's their own granddaughter and niece. Mimmy is also happy that she really feels like she's part of the family than she already is.
After having a good time and getting acquainted, Blitz and the others say their goodbye and walk through the portal back to Hell in the late evening. Matt and the others say their goodbyes and hope to see them soon. And sometime after that, Matt and the others are staying in the hotel for the night before heading back to the circus at another location.
Lily smiles and says, "I'm very proud of Blitz. To think he's able to keep his head up despite everything that has happened. And I'm glad he's able to find happiness."
"I have to agree, Lily. I'm sure Charles and the others would be proud of him," Matt says. "I'm glad that he's able to make friends who are like him. I must admit, I was rather worried about him associating with demons, even though he himself is one, but now, I can see that even Demons can have similar lives to us."
"Yes, and for some reason. I feel that part of him smiling has something to do with Stolas. I'm not sure how to explain, but he seems even more happy with him around. To think that our little Blitz has found his special someone," Lily says.
Then Matt smiles and says, "You know, it's bound to happen someday. Someday that our little Blitz will be with Stolas, and will be able to live their lives together."
"Oh, our little Blitzo. I wonder if he'll be the bride or the groom," Lily says.
Matt chuckles, "I don't think he's fully ready for that, they're barely a couple. But then again, love can work in mysterious ways."
Back in Hell, at Moxxie and Millie's home, Mimmy is fast asleep on the bed as Blitz looks at the photograph of his family. He can't help but show a sad smile as tears fall down his face. He truly misses his family but is glad to have a new family and new friends, and even a new love. After wiping his tears, Blitz places the photograph down on the desk, he lies down on the bed and falls into a deep sleep.
