Chapter 67: Advice from Candy
In the I.M.P Office, Blitz is sitting on the couch as he finishes with some paperwork. He looks as he watches Mimmy color in her coloring book, and Loona is looking at the company computer and watching videos. Blitz then hears vibrating on his phone, and looks on his screen that reads: Reminder: Meeting Ozzie's 11 pm. And Blitz knows that the meeting is the day after tomorrow. Blitz sighs and is still wondering if he has made the right choice of taking part in this meeting and has to keep this a secret from his friends.
Soon, the meeting door opens, and says, "Alright, that should be all we need to discuss, we'll continue with our work another day."
"Sure boss," Millie happily says.
"Yeah. We got it. We'll make sure to be there early to begin with the kills," Randall says.
"We made so many kills today and yet we're stuck with more in the morning," Drew says.
"Yeah. The last one was a doozy," Berry says
"So, how did your meeting go?" Blitz asks.
"It went well, but we'll need to be here earlier tomorrow to continue the rest of our assignments before he heads out," Moxxie says.
"How come?" Blitz asks.
Loona groans in frustration, "Because tomorrow I'm getting my shots tomorrow."
"Your shots?" Blitz questions.
Berry whispers to Blitz, "Loona really doesn't like getting her shots. Every time she sees a needle, she freaks out and we have to hold her down so she can get her meds."
"I see," Blitz says.
Sarge then gives Blitz the grimoire, "Here you go Blitz."
"Thanks Sarge. Stolas says that he needs it for tonight," Blitz says.
He then walks towards the door, "Well, I'm going to get going. I'm planning on seeing Candy and the others to see how they're doing."
"Okay. We'll see you tomorrow," Berry says.
"Bye," Everyone says as Blitz takes their leave.
However, Sarge looks at Blitz with a calm, but frown expression on his face. He has this 'something is off' expression on his face. He suspects something is wrong with Blitz, but doesn't want to push it.
Sometime later, after arriving home, Blitz is in Stolas' chambers, continuing with his magical lessons.
"Okay Blitz, are you ready?" Stolas asks.
"Ready," Blitz says.
Blitz then points his finger towards a candle and then lets out a small spray of fire at the candle and lights it up.
"Good job, Blitz," Stolas says.
"Thanks," Blitz says.
Then asks, "What's next?"
"Hmm, you seem to be getting the hang of the three magical abilities you've known, so how about we try to combine some of your magic," Stolas says.
"Demons can combine magic?" Blitz asks.
"Well, it depends on the magic and since you created light magic and fire magic, perhaps we can combine the magic and create something out of it. I'm thinking that later on I can teach you a new spell," Stolas says.
"Combining my magic? I've never thought of that before," Blitz says.
"Why not give it a try," Stolas replies.
"Okay," Blitz says.
Blitz then concentrates performing the separate magic in his hands. On his left hand he creates a ball of light. On the other hand, he's able to create a ball of fire.
"Good. Now, try to merge the magic together," Stolas says.
Blitz nods his head and decides just that. He tries to combine the magic. Blitz concentrated with all his mind and heart. He soon opens the palms of his hands and reveals a bright glowing ball of fire.
"Look Stolas, I did it," Blitz happily says.
Stolas happily claps, "Splendid job Blitz. You're already getting a hang of using magic."
"Thanks," Blitz says.
However, Blitz soon shows concerns, and seems uneasy about something.
"Is something the matter?" Stolas asks.
"Oh no, it's nothing serious, but do you mind if you open the portal? I like to talk to Candy about something," Blitz answers.
"Mind if I ask why?" Stolas asks.
"I just need some advice on something," Blitz answers, still sounding distracted and worried.
Concerned, Stolas places his book on the desk and asks, "Blitz, are you alright? You know, you've been feeling a bit uneasy lately. You barely ate this morning."
"Don't worry Stolas, I'll be okay," Blitz says.
"Are you sure? You've been distracted lately. Is there something you need to tell me?" Stolas says.
"It's a bit difficult to explain, but I kind of have a problem. I usually shared stuff like this with Candy, Marina, or my mother. I'll explain it to you when I'm ready. Okay," Blitz says.
Despite being concerned, Stolas says, "Okay Blitz, but if anything happens, you just let me know. We are a couple after all."
"I know," Blitz says.
"Okay Blitz. I love you, Blitz," Stolas says.
"I love you too," Blitz says.
Stolas then opens the grimoire and uses it to make a portal for Blitz to go through.
"I'll send you a message when I'm finished talking with Candy," Blitz says.
"Alright, do tell Candy I say hi," Stolas says.
"Sure," Blitz says, and walks through the portal.
Once Blitz is through the portal, Stolas closes it with his grimoire. However, he is deeply concerned for Blitz.
Stolas says to himself, "Still, Blitz has been behaving strangely lately, and I think it's about time I found out what that is."
Sometime later, in the living world, Blitz walks to the circus and is happily greeted by Candy.
"Hi Blitz, how are things going?" Candy asks, happily.
"I'm doing great," Blitz says with a smile.
He then sighs as he makes a sad expression, "But, I could really use your advice right about now."
"Sure Blitz," Candy says.
She then asks in concern, "Are you okay Blitz? You don't look like your usual self."
"Well Candy, I have a serious problem," Blitz says.
"What sort of problem?" Candy asks.
"It's difficult to explain, and I can really use your help Candy," Blitz says.
"Okay. Let's head back to the train car and talk about this over some hot chocolate," Candy says.
Blitz nods his head, "Sounds good to me."
The two then head towards the train of the circus so Blitz can explain to Candy about his dilemma.
Meanwhile, back in Hell. Sarge is working on some paperwork in his bedroom after doing some work. Suddenly, he hears his phone ringing.
He picks up the phone and says, "Hello."
"Hello Sarge, I apologize for bothering you this evening, but I am in need of your assistance," Stolas says over the phone.
"And what will that be? Do you need me to take on bodyguard duty again?" Sarge asks.
"Uh no," Stolas answers, "You see, have you or the others noticed Blitz is acting strangely today, or recently?"
"Now that you've mentioned it, I've noticed that Blitz has been looking rather anxious. I'm not sure what or why, but he's been looking at his phone frequently, like he was expecting something," Sarge says.
"I've noticed it as well. I asked Blitz if there's anything wrong, but he kept telling me that everything was okay. He even decided to visit Candy for some advice on something, but he didn't say what it is," Stolas says.
"Hmm… that does sound serious," Sarge says.
He nods his head and says, "Alright I understand. I see if Randall and Razor can take on this job. Is there anything else I should know about?"
"Well, Blitz mentioned that he's going out the night after tomorrow. I assumed that he'll be going out with you or the others, or perhaps out with family," Stolas explains, "However, this doesn't seem to be the case."
"Yes. It's not like Blitz to keep things hidden from us, unless he has too. I'll let Randall and Razor know and see if they can keep an eye on him tomorrow night," Sarge says.
"Thank you, Sarge," Stolas says.
"You're welcome. I'll let you know if anything happens," Sarge says, and hangs up the phone.
He begins to wonder, "What is Blitz up to?"
Back in the living world, Blitz and Candy are in the train car having some hot chocolate and some snacks. Blitz has explained to Candy about everything that has happened. What happened at Ozzie's, at Stolas' mansion, what happened at the party in Gluttony, involving Blitz' magical development. And most of all, Blitz explains what Vortex explains to him, Involving with Fizzarolli and Asmdoeus wanting him to meet them at Ozzie's the night after tomorrow, and how he has to go there alone and without telling the others about it.
"I see. Sounds like you have a serious problem," Candy says.
"I know," Blitz says and lets out a sigh, "I promised that I won't tell Stolas, or my friends, and I really want to meet Fizzarolli to learn more about my sister. Randall knows a little bit about her, and Fizzarolli seems to know her more than anyone. I want to know about my sister more than ever."
"I can understand why you wanted to come here. You feel that you need someone to talk to and some advice," Candy says.
"That's right," Blitz answers, "I could really use your help about it. I want to go talk to Fizzarolli, especially since now I have a chance to. But, I'll be going there alone, without any of my friends with me. And I'm supposed to keep this meeting a secret from the others," Blitz explains, "What's more, how can I trust both him and Asmodeus after what happened that night? Even Verosika is questionable on trusting at this point? How do I know if they won't do anything to me or have some hidden agenda in mind?"
"Yes. Since you told me that Asmodeus is the ruler of Lust, it's worrisome if he along with Fizzarolli are up to something sketchy," Candy says.
"I know," Blitz says, and lets out a sigh.
Candy walks over to Blitz and asks, "What's wrong?"
"I've always wanted to know about my birth family, where I come from, what happened to them. I remember what happened to my mother. And thanks to Randall, I've learned a bit about who my sister and my father were. And now, I have another chance to talk to Fizzarolli," Blitz says.
"But it will be hard because the others won't be there with you," Candy says.
"Yeah. You're the only one I actually told because I need some advice on what to do. I really want to know about my family, but part of me wonders if I'm ready to learn about my sister, my father, and maybe about my mother. Maybe I don't want to know anymore…" Blitz says, feeling distressed.
"I'm sure you do," Candy says.
Blitz sighs, "I actually do want to know. I want to know this more than anything. I've lost my chance back at Ozzie's, but now I've been given another opportunity to talk to Fizzarolli directly, and to learn about my sister and father and what happened to them. I just don't know what to do about it."
"Well Blitz, you said that you wanted to see Fizzarolli and learn about your birth family, right?" Candy questions.
Blitz nods his head, "Yes. I do."
"And even though your first attempt didn't turn out as planned, you were given another opportunity to talk to him," Candy says.
"That's true," Blitz says.
Then Candy says, "Well then, I know it's hard to keep this from Stolas and the others, I think you should go for it. Go to see Fizzarolli on the day of the meeting and see how it goes. And if he knows about your sister and father, then you're one step closer to learning about them."
"Yeah… I… i think you're right," Blitz says.
He then gives Candy a hug and says, "Thanks Candy, I think I really needed that. And you're right. I have the chance to learn about my sister and my father, and maybe even know what happened to them. Even if they do have something else in mind, I still need to know the truth."
"Alright. I'm in full support of your decision, but it wouldn't hurt to have a safe guard just in case anything happens," Candy says.
"Okay," Blitz says.
Candy then says, "If anything happens. All you need to do is send an S.O.S to me, Andy, Tim, or any of the others on your phone, and we'll be sure to contact the others.
"Okay, I promise," Blitz says.
He and Candy hug each other once more, and Blitz feels better that he had his cousin's support.
Meanwhile, in Randall and Razor's apartment, Sarge has decided to call the two on a video call, so they both can listen to the important assignment.
"You want us to follow Blitz?" Razor asks.
"Yes," Sarge answers, "Stolas asked him to spy on him tomorrow night. He's very worried because Blitz has been acting off. In fact, I've sensed something off about him recently as well."
"And you think Blitz could be hiding something?" Randall says, confused.
"That doesn't sound like him. He's not really the type to keep secrets, unless it's something big," Razor says.
"I was thinking the same. I figured that both of you will be perfect for the job. Razor's gadgets and feline abilities along with Razor's stealth and transformation will be perfect for this assignment," Sarge says.
"Make sense," Randall says.
"We're on it, Sarge. We'll be sure to follow Blitz to whatever he's up to," Razor says.
"Good," Sarge says, "After work tomorrow, you both make your way to Stolas' estate and watch in case Blitz leaves. Once he does, follow him wherever he's going. Razor, report everything to me and Stolas on a shared chat on your phone. And Randall, no funny business this time, this is a serious matter. Whatever Blitz is up to, it could be trouble, so no pranks, sudden assaults, or anything, And I mean 'No Funny business'."
"Oooh, you said it twice. That means you are serious," Randall says.
Then says, "You got it boss, no funny business. But if Blitz ends up in some kind of danger, then do we make our move."
"Only if anything bad happens. Just follow Blitz, report everything he does, where he goes, and anyone he might be with. Remain quiet and stay incognito," Sarge says.
"Right boss," Randall and Razor say.
"Alright then, thank you for your time," Sarge says and ends the call.
Randall turns to Razor, "I sure hope we find out what Blitz is up to."
"Me too. I wonder what Blitz could be hiding from us. I just Blitz isn't in any trouble," Razor says.
"Me too," Randall says.
"Then the day after tomorrow, we keep a close eye on Blitz and figure out what he's hiding," Razor says.
And with that, the two demons agree and decide to create preparations for their stealth mission.
Meanwhile, the portal opens and Blitz walks through it and back to Stolas' room.
"Hello Blitzy, welcome back," Stolas happily says.
"Hey Stolas," Blitz says.
"Do how was your time with Mimmy? Did you get the advice you need?" Stolas asks.
Blitz smiles and says, "Yeah. I've gotten just the advice I need."
And Blitz is very pleased to ask Candy about this, and feels more confident about seeing Fizzarolli and Asmodeus at Ozzie the night after tomorrow.
