Sue Storm fiddled with her wedding ring as she and her husband, Reed Richards waited for the plane to descend. She felt nervous about seeing the girl who had somehow very quickly wormed her way into their lives. It had been a long two years since she, as well as the others, had seen Lily. She thought back to when she last spoken to her. Almost eight months ago when she abruptly cut contact with them. She remembered feeling confused when Lily became so curt with her, not explaining why she refused to talk to them. She never even answered the phone when she called Lily to tell her the news of her impending pregnancy.

She felt a hand slip in between her fiddling fingers, and she turned her head to see Reed looking at her. Poor Reed, she thought, and Ben. Those two had it worse without Lily. They had loved her. But Johnny…something wasn't right there. She gave him a smile as he squeezed her hand and with the other, rubbed gently on her protruding stomach.

"Okay?" Reed asked.

Sue nodded, "Yeah. Just thinking."

"About what?"

She let out a sigh. It was a bit of a loaded question. "Everything? I don't know. Lily. You. Ben. And Johnny too I guess."

He dipped his head in agreement with her, "Yeah. Same here. I don't know what we're gonna see when we get there."

Sue could only nod in reply as she turned her head to look out the small airplane window. She could see the ground coming up and knew soon they would be landing. For a moment, she thought back to when she got that phone call.

"I got it!" Sue hollered as she heard the phone ring. It wasn't often the phone rang since everyone had their own cellphone. "Hello?"

A tinny voice echoed from the phone. "Yes, this is Sue Richards. Sorry, who is this?"

"London Hospital? I don't-wait hold on, this is about Lily Fox?"

The person on the other side of the call answered. She paled a bit and leaned against the wall. "Will you hold on for a moment so I can call my husband down?"

As soon as the person said yes, she brought the handset down, covered the mouthpiece and hollered for Reed. It was a few minutes before Reed came around the corner and Sue pressed the speakerphone button and put back the handset.

"What's going on?" Reed asked.

"Hello, is that Reed Richards?"

He turned his head towards the phone. He was confused. He looked at Sue and noticed her pale.

"Yes," He replied to the person on the phone then spoke to Sue. "You okay?"

Sue nodded, "Yeah. It's um…it's about Lily. It's the hospital."

"Lily? What happened?"

"There's not much we can tell you over the phone but you're listed as her emergency contacts. Since she's twenty, she's of legal age but we've had trouble getting her to respond to us. We were hoping that perhaps you'd be able to help us?"

"Of course, we will be there soon as we can. Thank you," Reed replied before he clicked the phone off.

He looked at his wife, "Let's get our stuff packed. I'll get us tickets and let Ben know."

The plane landing jarred her out of her memory. Of course, Ben had wanted to come but they needed him to stay should anything happen while they were out of country. And Johnny…when they told him of Lily, he didn't seem to care. He was so indifferent about Lily. She frowned. Something was off about him lately in the last year especially since she knew how much he had fallen for the young girl. He had been eager for her calls and talked with her all hours of the day and night. But now? No. It was as if Lily no longer mattered to him. The only thing that mattered was that girlfriend of his.

"Ready babe?" Reed pulled her out of her thoughts, and she looked up to see him standing in the aisle, holding onto their carry on.

She nodded and stood up with his help. She was only about six months along, but it was still a struggle occasionally.

Reed barely took in the sights as he looked out the window of their ride. Sue sat next to him, holding onto his hand tightly. He knew she was just as nervous and scared as he was. He remembered how quickly he became so protective of Lily when she first showed up. He remembered the fear he had when Sue commented about the blood. He shifted his leg trying to not focus so much on that memory.

He had so much love for Lily that it had been so confusing and devastating when Lily abruptly stopped talking to them. He hoped she was alright. He had called for an update when they arrived at the airport and there wasn't anything. And they still wouldn't tell him much of anything.

"We'll be there in a minute sir," The driver spoke, directing his attention away from the window.

Reed met his eyes in the rearview mirror and gave him a small smile, "Thanks."

"If you need another ride, let me know," the man said as he pulled out a business card and gave it to them. Reed took it. "That way not many people see you if don't want to attract any attention while you're here. You're my last stop of the day."

Reed figured it wouldn't have taken that long for someone to recognize them. He looked at the card then back up to the rearview mirror. His eyes seemed to show kindness, so he nodded.

"Actually, that would be appreciated. Thank you."

"No problem. Just shoot me a text when you're ready, and I'll swing back around."

Reed nodded his thanks and slipped the card into his wallet. He looked up and the sign for the London hospital appeared as if by magic. He sighed. He didn't know what they would be walking into. He looked over to Sue. She had the same expression on her face.

Apprehension.

Fear.
