Chapter 92: The New I.M.P Employee
In front of the I.M.P building in Imp City, it's actually been an ordinary day. The same residents going on with their everyday lives, the same crime, and all that. However, today, someone is approaching the building of the I.M.P office.
The sound of a woman comes out, "This should be the right place. Now, to get myself a job in I.M.P." and then walks inside the building.
In the I.M.P office, everyone is in the meeting room having their lunch break. They actually had a long morning with missions, paperwork, cleaning, and such. In other words, they had a very busy morning.
"So what else do we need to do for today?" Drew asks.
"Let's see," Loona says, bringing out a list, "We need to kill a political man, a corrupt company president, a high school gang member, an abusive teacher, a cheating woman and her affair partner, and bla bla bla… Damn, there are a lot of shitty humans this time around. And some of them want us to do specific killings on a certain day."
"Sounds like we still had quite the list," Berry says.
"Yep," Loona says.
"And Sarge and I still have some paperwork to do as well," Blitz says.
"Sounds like we've become pretty busy bees," Randall says.
"Pretty much. I agree to stay and help with the paperwork," Moxxie says.
Barbie sighs, "Think we could use some help with this?"
"Not really," Sarge answers, "I mean, we still have a few stations for employment. Hmm, maybe we could use some other help."
Suddenly, they hear the sound of the door knocking.
"Who could that be?" Randall questions.
"It's probably one of the clients. One of them did schedule a meeting over the phone to explain about the target," Sarge says.
Millie happily stands up, "I'll get it."
Millie then rushes out of the meeting room with excitement and walks to the front door.
She then opens the door and happily says, "Hello, welcome to I.M.P. What can I do for you?"
The demon at the door is a tall female demon, and judging by the appearance, she seems to be a hybrid of an Imp and a Succubus. She seems to be around Berry's height and has a similar body type. She has pink skin, long white hair, and pink eyes with yellow sclera. White wings on her back, a long tail and the end point of her tail can look like a heart. She has pure black horns that have slightly curves. She is wearing a purple dress with a pink ribbon around her waist. She also wore black fingerless gloves. At the top of her dress, she had a cerise pink gem with a golden border, and she also wore long dark purple flat boots.
"Hello. My name is Velma, and I like to ask if you are hiring anyone for employment?" The demon, Velma asks.
"Well, we kind of are, but you'll need to have a good word with your boss," Millie happily says. "Come in, and I'll introduce you to the boss."
Millie allows Velma entry inside the office and the two enter the meeting room.
Of course, Millie is the first to enter the room, "Hey boss, someone wants to become a part of the company!" Then turns to the lounge, "Come on in."
Millie walks inside, Velma follows from behind.
Velma says, "Hello, my name is Velma."
"Hello Velma, welcome to I.M.P. I'm Sarge, the boss and C.E.O," Sarge says.
Then turns to Loona, "This is my daughter, and receptionist, Loona."
"Hey," Loona says.
Then Sarge says, "And these are the rest of my employees. You've already met Millie. There's her husband, Moxxie. This is Blitz, his sister, Barbie, and his daughter Mimmy. Drew, and his sister, Berry. Randall, and Razor."
Everyone says hello and hi to them.
"So Velma, you said that you wanted to work at I.M.P?" Sarge asks.
"That's right. I like to work at your company," Velma says.
"Alright then, what can you do?" Sarge questions.
"Well, I may not look it, but I got a pretty good head on my shoulders. I've known a lot of forms of martial arts, athletic flexibility, as well as close and long ranged combat," Velma explains.
Sarge calmly nods, "Sounds like you've got a good head on your shoulders."
"I do," Velma says, "Of course, I can fly with my wings, can handle heavy weapons, and I also got a human disguise, so I can help seduce targets to their demise." and shows a grin on her face.
"Hmm, I see," Sarge says and nods his head, "I think we can give you a job. However, in order to give you the job in the company, I'll need to give you a test to prove you can handle what the company occupation is."
"Of course," Velma answers with a nod.
She then asks, "What do you want me to do?"
"Well, we have a pretty long list of targets today so you can help us with that," Sarge says.
"Sure," Velma says.
"You can start with the client who we're meeting soon," Sarge says.
And right on cue, the door is knocked.
"That's probably him now," Sarge says.
He leaves the meeting room, walks to the lounge door and opens it to reveal another demon. This demon seems to be a mixture between a dog and a cat, and it shows him having some sign of scratches and burn marks.
"Hello, I'm Spencer. I have an appointment with you today," The demon says.
"Of course, come in, and we can discuss it in my office," Sarge says.
Moments later, Sarge is sitting at his desk with Spencer. Everyone else is in the lounge as they listen in.
Sarge asks, "Alright Spencer, you said that you wanted us to kill your former boss, and that it's better for you to come and explain all the details."
"That's right," Spencer says. "But to be honest, I'm not entirely sure if she killed me, but I'm very certain about it."
"Care to explain?" Sarge asks.
With that, Spencer explains, "Well, I was getting out of work and was driving in my car to head home. Most of the employees walk home or use their bikes since they live nearby, but I use my car because I live pretty far. But while driving home, I was unable to stop my brakes and ended up driving off the cliff. And I found myself here."
"Hmm, I see. And what have you suspected about your old boss?" Sarge questions.
"Well, I'm not one hundred percent sure if it's Izzy, but I have some suspicions if it's her. A week before my death, I was grabbing a few meat out from the freezer. But as I looked around, I found some strange plastic bags and they're full of body parts. At first I thought I was seeing things, but I wonder if someone has been secretly using the freezer for organ legging or something. I told Izzy about it and she said not to worry about it," Spencer explains, "And the accident happened a week after that. Izzy was the only one who knows where I parked my car, and knows which route I take to drive him. It had to be her. And now, I have to wonder if Izzy was the one who had those body parts in the large freezer and used it for organ legging or something.
"That's a very strong accusation you're making," Sarge says.
"I know. I don't want to assume it's her because she's been so nice, but with what I saw, how I got in that accident at that moment. Not to mention the many disappearances in the area where the restaurant is, and all the ones missing are young women. All the body parts inside the freezer seem to be female body parts specifically," Spencer explains.
"It does seem to fit with the accusation. We'll take the case and make sure to take down your boss," Sarge says.
Spencer nods in reply.
Shortly after, Sarge explains to the group what the client has told him.
"Alright, according to the client, he was murdered by his former boss who is the gourmet head chef in a restaurant. He suspects it's her because he discovered some frozen body parts in the freezer in the workplace. He also suspects it would involve the disappearances of young women in the area," Sarge says.
Looking at his phone from Earth, Blitz says, "I remember seeing a news article about it. So I have a pretty good idea which restaurant they're talking about. According to the news, all the young women who disappeared were near the area, mainly somewhere in town. The strange thing is that all the missing people were young women. Most were in their twenties, some were even college students."
"Anything about the restaurant and who owns it?" Berry asks.
"Well, the owner of the restaurant, Happily Delights, is also the head chef, Izzy Simpson. She's in her early forties, and is actually a very good chef that it usually takes some time to get a reservation. So with a kind personality like that, no one would really suspect her of doing anything shady," Blitz answers.
"Sounds like the perfect cover," Millie says.
"Hmm, the question is why would she have body parts stored in her freezer," Moxxie says.
"Well, the possibility of organ legging can't be ruled out," Berry says.
"Unless she's a cannibal. It's kind of common in our line of work," Randall says.
Then narrows his eyes, "And surely don't want to deal with someone like that Martha chick again."
"Martha?" Velma questions.
"She was one of I.M.P's targets. She was some insane satanist cannibal. She was fuckin insane, including her family," Millie says.
"I remember Blitz telling me about her. She tried to sacrifice him or something," Barbie says.
"But it didn't really work. I may not have burned, but I did feel the pain from it," Blitz says.
"Really?" Velma says, confused.
"Kind of a long story," Blitz says.
"In any case, that will be your assignment Velma. Your assignment is to finish this Izzy Simpson off. Randall, Razor, and Barbie will tag along with you, to give you some assistance and to help explain how the job is done," Sarge says.
"Sure boss," Razor says.
"You got it," Barbie says.
"Yeah. We'll help show the new bee the ropes," Razor says.
"Well then, it's best you all get to work," Berry says, holding out the grimoire.
She draws the pentagram on the wall and the portal open to the specific location. Soon, Razor, Randall, and Barbie change to their human disguises.
Velma does the same. When she changes into her disguise, her yellow sclera becomes white, but still has her pink eyes. Even in human form, Velma has a somewhat similar body type to Berry's. Of course, the outfit fits her human form. Her hair is still white, but the skin is now somewhat of a tan color.
"Wow Velma, you look nice," Drew says.
"Thanks," Velma says.
"Come on Vel, the sooner we get this job done, the sooner we can head back," Randall says.
"Okay," Velma says.
Soon, the four walk through the portal to find themselves in the alley.
"So where's the restaurant?" Velma asks.
Razor looks at his phone, "Well, we should be near it. Across the street from here."
The four walk out of the alley and look across the street. They soon see the restaurant, Happily Delights. It seems like a normal high class restaurant.
"It seems normal," Barbie says.
"Yeah. But with the place closed it should give us a good chance to sneak in and figure out if she's in there," Randall says.
"What makes you think she's in there?" Velma asks.
"Well, she's the boss, so it's possible she might stay behind to check on things," Razor says.
"Well, let's go inside and take down some heads," Randall says.
The group look from different sides of the streets and hurry down the street to sneak around the restaurant. Barbie and Razor look through the window of the restaurant. They look through the windows of the restaurant to see how nice and somewhat fancy it is. There's also a large bar with very expensive wine on it.
"Wow. the place looks very high class," Razor says.
"Yeah. Looks like one of those restaurants that high class people go to," Barbie says.
Randall and Velma look through the window as well.
"The place seems empty," Randall says, looking around. "I don't see this Izzy character anywhere."
Velma soon notices a light coming from the entryway, "Hey guys, there's a light over there."
The three turns to see the light are one.
"You're right. Looks like someone is here," Barbie says.
Randall then walks to the side of the restaurant where he found another window, a small rectangular window.
Randall turns his head, "Hey Razor, give me a boost."
"Sure," Razor says.
Razor cuffs his hands together with his palms upward. Randall places his foot on it, and Razor lifts him up to the window. Randall then takes a peek through it to see that it's a kitchen.
"What do you see in there?" Velma asks.
"Well, I found the kitchen, but the position of this window is making it a bit hard to see…" Randall says ,but suddenly, "Hold on…"
"What is it?" Barbie questions.
"There's someone in the room, and I think it's the target," Randall says.
"What is she doing?" Velma asks.
Randall slowly opens the window and tries to get a better look. There, he sees a woman in her forties. She has brown hair in a bun, and is busy doing something. She also grabs spices like salt, pepper, and such, and sprinkle them on something.
"It looks like she seems to be seasoning something. And she has some sliced fruits and chopped vegetables as well," Randall says, looking around.
"I can't see what it is, but it seems she'll be very busy," Randall says.
Then Randall says, "It would be a perfect opportunity to get Izzy while her guard is down. You girls go in there and finish the job, Randall and I will stay and watch from here."
The girls agree and head back to the front door.
"How do we get in?" Velma asks.
Barbie brings out a knife, "Watch this."
She then uses the knife to slide it through the small opening next to the door as she fiddles with the doorknob. Soon, the door opens.
"Good, we're in," Barbie says.
She then whispers, "You got your gun, Velma?"
"Yeah," Velma says, holding out her gun.
"Follow me," Barbie whispers.
Both Barbie and Velma slowly walk into the restaurant as Barbie closes the door soon after. The two females slowly walk with weapons in hand as they sneak towards the kitchen. Barbie calls Randall on his phone.
Outside, Randall continues to watch the woman until he hears his phone vibrating.
Randall answers and whispers, "Hello."
"Hey Randall, we're in. Is Izzy still there?" Barbie says through the phone.
"Yes. She is," Randall says, "And she's still doing whatever she's doing. There is a large rectangular table in the center of the room with some rolling racks and such, so it will be easy for you to sneak up to her."
"Good," Barbie says.
"I'll continue keeping an eye out," Randall says.
Barbie and Velma nod their heads and reach the entrance of the kitchen. Barbie slowly sneaks one of the kitchen sections and peek out to see the chef is still not looking at them. Barbie then uses her hand signals Velma to sneak behind the long table while Barbie distracts her. Velma does just that and still has the gun in her hand.
Back outside, Randall continues spying on Izzy and tries to get a closer look of what she's doing at a different position. Just then, Izzy movies her body to the side and ends up giving him a better view of what she's doing. To Randall's shock, he sees a large baking pan. It's not normal meat like beef and pork, or even chicken or fish. It's actually a human body that has the head already severed off, and judging by the body, it appears to be a young female. It's been seasoned, covered with fruits and vegetables.
"Oh shit," Randall mutters, gritting his teeth.
"What is it, Randall?" Razor asks.
"That chick is a cannibal. She's seasoning a human body," Randall says, and explains what he sees.
He then says, "I'm going to go in and help the girls."
"Alright, be careful," Razor says.
Randall is able to use his skills to sneak inside and slowly climb inside and sneaks around the kitchen. He then uses his invisibility powers to make himself invisible to sneak around and reach where Barbie is hiding.
Barbie remains hidden at her hiding spot, and suddenly feels tapping on her shoulder. She turns her head to see Randall's phone. She doesn't freak out because she suspects Randall, and so the chef won't hear them. And understands Randall is invisible and silent so that the chef won't see him as well.
Barbie reads the message Randall has on his phone, "I came to help. This woman is a cannibal, and wouldn't be surprised if she's crazy."
Barbie nods her head in reply, agreeing to be careful.
Suddenly, something comes flying past Barbie, hits Randalls phone and crashes to the ground. What they see is a butcher's knife. Stuck to his phone on the ground. Startled, Randall makes himself visible again.
"Oh shit," Randall mutters.
They both soon look up to find Izzy staring down towards them with a sweet smile.
"Why hello there. I didn't expect to find some visitors," Izzy happily says.
She then shows an evil smile, "I hope you'll stick around to eat." And shows a large fork and a sharp knife.
She tries to stab then, but Barbie and Randall dodge the attack. Izzy maniacally laughs as she tries to attack Barbie and Randall. Barbie and Randall try to attack back, but then Izzy kicks Barbie at the table. Barbie looks to see Izzy trying to chop her head with the Barbie quickly grabs a baking sheet and uses it to block the attack. Izzy tries to stab her with the fork, but Randall uses his tail to coil around her wrist and Izzy turns to see Randall trying to pull Izzy.
However, Izzy ends up charging at Randall and tries to stab him. Randall dodges and uses a knife to swing it around and almost cut his tail.
Randall shouts, "Hey! Watch the tail, bitch!"
Randall yelps as he ducks from the knife attack. Soon, Velma tries to shoot Izzy, but the chef uses her knife to deflect the attack. He throws the knife at Velma, but she ducks her head and it hits the wall as Razor rushes in, seeing the racket.
Just then, Izzy grabs something from the draw nearby and throws multiple knives, forks, and other sharp objects flying all over the place.
Razor shouts, "Take cover!"
Everyone does just that, and tries to protect themselves from the attack.
"Aw shit, this chick is completely insane," Randall says.
"You think dealing with one person would be easy," Barbie says.
"Maybe, but some are crazier than others," Razor says.
"How are we supposed to get to her?" Randall asks.
Soon, someone begins to charge towards Izzy and fires the gun at Izzy's wrist. Izzy lets out a scream in pain to see her hand has been shot. She viciously glares and looks to see it's Velma who has performed the shot.
"Alright lady, I think it's about time to finish this job," Velma says.
She then uses her tail to bring out a carving knife and a carving fork. Izzy then begins to see her hammer around as Velma charges and fights back. Velma and Izzy fight against each other as they swing their sharp weapons at them. Barbie and the boys are very impressed.
"Damn, Velma is very tough," Barbie says.
"Yeah. She's sure has skill," Randall says.
"You think we should help her?" Barbie asks.
"Maybe, but it seems that she has things handled," Razor says.
Velma and Izzy continue fighting against each other. Velma is able to scratch Izzy's other arm, but Izzy does the same with Velma's arm.
As they fight, they end up creating a big mess. Velma kicks Izzy causing her to fall onto a bag of flour nearby, That causes her to get covered in flour. Izzy growls in anger and pushes Velma at the wall, causing the olive oil to fall and cover both of them with it.
Velma notices herself slimy and shouts, "Ugh! My outfit!"
And then kicks Izzy in the face, causing her to get thrown onto the table, the spices fall to the table and they splatter to the table and ground. That causes Izzy to get covered in them.
Velma tries to charge at Izzy but she slips on the oil and slides towards Izzy. Velma crashes into Izzy and the two struggle on the ground. Soon, Izzy mananges to sit on her and tries to finish Velma off. Velma then uses her utensils to stall the final attack. Velma then kicks Izzy in the stomach and uses her tail to wrap on her neck. She grabs the end of her tail and uses it to hold her in place. Velma turns to notice a very large oven is on and seems to be ready for the meat to be put in and it's wide enough to fit a person.
That clicks in Velma's mind. Izzy ends up biting on Izzy's table, causing her to let her go. Izzy then charges at Velma and the two continue fighting. Their fighting and collisions causes the oven to be wide open and let in mananges to grab Izzy, rolls down on her back and throws Izzy into the oven. Velma acts fast and quickly shuts the oven.
Velma holds it and shouts, "Guys, I need help! We need to keep the oven closed!
"Come on guys," Razor says.
Razor and Barbie grab heavy boxes and place it in front of the oven and Randall ties the oven handle and around to the oven. Making it sure that it's tied in place. Velma then sets the oven to the highest setting. Soon, they hear Izzy screaming and banging to be let out of the oven.
Velma sighs, "That was too close."
"Yeah, but you really handled it," Randall says.
He thinks a second and says, "And in a way you kind of gave the victims and the client poetic justice."
"Yeah. All those body parts the client saw must have been stored so she can cook them later," Velma says.
"No kidding, I know demons can be cannibals, but even then some of them make me very sick," Berry says.
"Try hearing about Alastor's carnage on the radio," Velma says.
"Yeah. That's enough to make me scared and sick," Randall says.
Barbie texts Loona a message to get the portal open, and the portal soon opens.
"Come on, let's go before the cops come by," Barbie says.
The group begins to walk through the portal and suddenly hear a strange sound.
"Uh what's that?" Randall asks.
They soon turn to see the oven is starting to shake and it shows signs of it rattling and on the verge of bursting.
"Uh we should get out of here," Randall says.
The others agree.
Everyone hurries out of the portal and it closes soon after. Soon enough, the oven in the kitchen explodes and starts a fire in the restaurant. That causes the alarm to go off and the fire fighters and police are soon rushed over to investigate.
After the missing, the four in the mission have explained to the gang what happened. Of course, Velma feels grossed out to have oiled covering her clothes and her hair.
"Sheesh, that was very exhausting after going through that," Barbie says.
"I know. I didn't expect for us to get involved with a complete psychic of a chef," Randall says, holding his tail, "She nearly chopped my tail."
"Well, the client didn't expect his former boss and owner of the restaurant to be a cannibal," Drew says.
"I don't think anyone would expect that," Moxxie says.
Blitz looks at his phone, "Well, the news is already traveling fast. Apparently the police have found the frozen body parts she kept in the freezer along with the other meat. Some have been identified to be the recent disappearances. What's more, the one that was ready to be put in the oven was the college girl who disappeared a few days ago."
"That is deeply disturbing," Berry says.
"Yeah. What's more, they soon found Izzy's body and actually found a few of the frozen body parts in portal freezers in the wagon attached to her back. They're going to start with an investigation on Izzy Simpson to see if she's responsible for the disappearances," Blitz says.
"It just shows just how insane people are and how well they've kidding it," Randall says.
"No shit, that chick was clearly trying to kill us so she can eat us," Barbie says
"And almost got Randall's tail," Razor says.
Randall frowns, "Don't remind me. I remember the last time I got my tail cut, it took weeks for it to grow back."
"But still, Velma was able to kick a thing or two, and kind of gave her a taste of her own medicine," Razor says to Velma.
Velma winks, "Thanks Razor, but I couldn't have done it without your help."
"It's no problem, but you're the one who shoved her into the hot oven. The rest of us were able to help you keep her trapped in there," Barbie says.
Mimmy giggles and says to Velma, "You pushed the mean lady in the oven like in the story my daddy read to me last night."
"Is that right?" Velma questions, turning Blitz.
Blitz chuckles, "Yeah. She's probably referring to the storybook I read to her last night with Octavia. Hansel and Gretel."
"I remember that story. That's the one when a brother and sister met an old woman who's a witch who tried to fat the boy up and eat him. And has done it to others," Berry says.
Then Drew says, "At the end, the girl managed to shove the witch into the oven, burning her alive. The two children were able to escape and took the witch's treasure. It really changed their lives after that and they lived happily with their father."
Sarge walks over, "Well Velma, I say your first mission and test was proven successful."
"It was. Not to say, there weren't any hitches on the road, but I actually like being able to fight and kill people. Especially ones that tried to kill you back," Velma says.
"I'm happy to say that you're officially part of I.M.P. And I hope you're ready, because we have a lot more humans to kill and payment to collect," Sarge says.
Velma nods her head, "Yes sir."
For the rest of the day, the I.M.P Crew continue with killing targets, fighting humans, and doing a day of paperwork and cleaning supplies.
After a long day's work, everyone has finished with work and is ready to head back home.
"Bye everyone, have a good night," Velma says.
"Bye Velma, see you at work again, tomorrow," Barbie says.
"Goodbye," Blitz says.
"Bye bye," Mimmy says.
"Bye everyone, see you at work tomorrow," Velma says.
Everyone says their goodbyes and goes their separate ways to their homes. Velma also makes her way back home, and could use a bath after the day she's been through today, especially to get the oil off of her hair and clothes. However, Velma is glad to get the job at I.M.P, and for a good reason.
Later that night, Velma has returned to her apartment home and sits down on the bed. She feels exhausted from the day she has, and has been officially been hired by I.M.P. Velma then looks around and makes sure to lock the doors and windows and closes the window. She then approaches a silver designed table mirror. The top of the mirror has a green eerie glowing gemstone.
"Magic Mirror with a silver shine so bright, connects the boss with the gem's glowing light," Velma says.
Soon, the green gemstone on the mirror glows bright and it creates a black and green vortex in the mirror. Soon, a silhouette of a black figure with glowing green eyes. Judging by the appearance, the figure seems to look like a rat or some kind of rodent.
Velma says, "Hello Ratburn, sir. I'm in."
Soon, the figure within the mirror shows an evil glowing green grin on his face.
