Herding Cats

"All right, let's have this reunion across the street, guys." Dean redirected.

"Crap. What are you guys doing here?" "Come on, come on."

"We'll get you ice cream—our treat. What do you say? Let's go." Plead Sam

"Yeah, I say no. Look at this. Look, look. Ed, Ed. Okay, honest-to-god proof, all right?" You rolled your eyes at the blatant amateurism of being excited about getting a ghostly glimpse. You felt an arm touch your shoulder and you whipped your head to see the head-nerd, Ed, offering you his chair. Reluctantly, you took it and decided to watch whatever "found footage" these dorks had captured. There was constant chattering and stupid lingo being thrown around behind you, but you tuned it out to focus on the video.

There was a man in vintage garb, clearly not from this decade explaining something you couldn't make out over the "categorizing" of the specter behind you. In the blink of an eye, the ghost seemed to have been blown away… You looked at Sam and Dean, getting up from your chair to convene with them privately. You spoke first, "That was only a death echo…did we miss something?"

"We could've, but the real question is what's it doing here? Did anybody get shot here?" Dean asked. You both looked at Sam for the answer. "No, not that I could find—"

"What's a death echo?" interrupted your conversation. You turned around to find the cameraman facing you, apparently eavesdropping on your entire exchange. And not one of you noticed the CCTV watching us? Morons… Sam fed into their delusion. "We got a problem here, and that ghost ain't it."

"What's a death echo?" He repeated. You sighed, knowing he wasn't dropping it. "Echoes are trapped in a loop, okay? They keep replaying how they died again and again and again, usually in the location they died. Same danger level as watching a scary movie."

"So maybe the echo's not dangerous, but maybe something else is." Sam theorized. He's probably right. Time for a hasty exit for Scooby Douche and the gang. Dean had the same idea as he walked to the group, still analyzing the film, and began to herd them towards the door. "All right, we need to get out of here, guys. Come on. Let's go, let's go. Pack it up." He and Sam grabbed two out of the group and everything turned into a frenzy. "Whoa, whoa, whoa, what about all of our equipment?"

"Lot's of fun outside." "Let's go." "We got more material." "We got all kinds of stuff" "We'll make you guys recurring guest stars!" The members plead as they were dragged towards the door. One escaped Sam's grip and the chaos was deafening. Just as you reached the door dragging the one known as "Harry", Ed screamed and you tightened your grip. "Wait! Where's Corbett?"

"We will look for him ourselves but you guys gotta get out of here!" Dean yelled and grabbed Ed. "No man left behind!"

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHH

The room went silent as the scream from upstairs echoed. "That was Corbett!" Yelled Harry, who ran, just slipping out of your fingers while the rest of them scattered. "Okay, this is ridiculous, everyone out, now!" You commanded loudly. Time was running out and these nerds weren't any closer to packing their crap and getting the hell out of Dodge. The one woman, Maggie, ran upstairs screaming, "Corbett! We're coming!" Screaming rang from every corner and even Sam's gutteral, "Guys!" was drowned out. You sighed to yourself, "Oh for F**** sake…"

The three of you found most of them huddled in the same room and closed them into a corner, despite their screaming. "Guys, hey, hey, it's fine we will look for him!" "CORBETT!"

In an instant, all screaming stopped, including Corbett's cries and his team's panic. The air had chilled around you and the eerie quiet sent a shiver down your spine. You checked your watch…12am… A final cry from Corbett and Sam jogging into the room snapped you into gear. "He's not here. Let's go, let's go!" The taller Winchester commanded. The three of you once again lead the group towards the door, praying there was still time to get them out. They continued their panicked cries, but at least they were moving.
