"First kiss?" You hum thoughtfully. "Second grade on the playground during recess. Ben Cheney had Fruit Roll-up breath, and to this day, I can't eat gummy fruit snacks without having horrible flashbacks. You?"
"Sixth grade. Sadie Hawkins dance. Lauren Mallory had just gotten braces, and she cheese-grated my top lip."
You laugh so loud people look our way. And you don't even care. "I was wondering about this." You reach out and tap the faint scar at the side of my mouth. "Poor you. Your turn."
I rub the scruff on my chin, and you flag down the server to ask for another bucket of beer.
"First date? Mine was the Sadie Hawkins dance, and you know how well that turned out."
"I went on a group date with Riley Biers to the movies my freshman year of high school. He tried to feel me up, and I broke his thumb. I had a badass reputation for the next four years."
I can't help myself. "Note to self: don't try to cop a feel."
Your eyes crinkle. "I don't think you'd garner the same results, Edward."
I smile like an idiot.
"Celebrity crush? I'd throw you in front of a bus if Robert Pattinson asked me to."
I chuckle. "Kristen Stewart for sure. Favorite food?"
You look at me like I'm stupid and point to your empty plate. "Pizza, duh. It's a very versatile food. You?"
"Anything with shrimp besides coconut."
"I've been told that I make the best garlic shrimp linguini." You grin. "Let's see how the rest of this date goes, and you might get a chance to experience it."
