I find myself busier than usual at work. Between a new product launch that's hitting a few snags as the date approaches and another charity event we're planning on hosting, my time has been limited.

We usually throw three or four parties a year, and Kate has been running ragged between the launch, keeping me in line, and plans. Not to mention she has to run her household and make sure Garrett and Jasper don't kill themselves. That's a job in itself.

The manufacturer contacted me this morning to tell me that production is back on schedule and that everything should be ready on time. I trust Black and his son to get the job done efficiently.

Kate and I have a meeting scheduled with our usual caterer to go over the menu, but first, I have a more important appointment.

Right on time, there's a knock, followed by my office door flying open. Two tiny gremlins come barreling in followed by you, more calm and bearing pizza.

"My lunch dates," I greet and clear the table in the corner so you can set everything down.

"Hi, beautiful." I kiss you softly, earning a gag from Jasper.

"Gross. We're about to eat, Uncle Ed."

Little Alice just rolls her eyes and takes a seat.

You dish out food and tell me about y'all's plans for the day.

"I've been wanting to see the new Pixar movie but didn't want to go by myself, so I called Kate and asked to borrow Jasper for the day," you explain. "Jessica and Mike are at an important baby-related appointment, so I got a two-for-one deal."

Hearing that the Newtons are expecting again is news to me. I've been so distracted lately I make a mental note to do better.

After lunch, I help you clean the kiddos up before walking you down to your car.

"I'll see you when you get off. If you're too tired to help me pack just let me know, and I'll meet you at your house."

I raise a brow, and you correct yourself.

"Our house."

"That's more like it." I kiss you goodbye despite my godson's theatrics.

I honestly don't understand his reaction to us, seeing as his parents are very open with their PDA.

"Have fun and bring me home some movie theater popcorn."

"Yes, sir." You salute and drive away.
