Chapter 11
Teacher, Ralph Hinckley pulled up into the parking lot of Knight Industries after school. He wasn't sure if Sam and Daniel were telling the truth at first. Then he spotted the black Trans Am and the motorcycle. He emerged from his car and went to the nearest entrance.
The door opened as Ralph walked up. It was Daniel. "This way, Mr. Hinckley." he waved him to step inside.
Ralph stepped into the warehouse unsure what to expect. Much to his surprise, Bill Maxwell was already there and waiting for him as well. "Bill." he greeted.
"Ralph! You met our new friends, yet?" he motioned towards Jack. Bill was brought in during school hours and debriefed. He wore gray slacks, black shoes with a white dress shirt under a gray windbreaker.
"Not yet." he replied.
"This is Jack." Bill stated.
Jack asked. "How do you fly in that suit? Is it like a running jump or just a few steps?" he motioned.
He replied "It's a bit of a run. Then a leap." He motioned with his arms.
Daniel stated. "Jack. I'm sure we will find out all about the suit after Sam runs some test."
Bill asked. "You bring the jammies, Ralph?"
"In my car." he nodded.
Sam entered the area. She had changed into a pair of green battle dress for her work. She smiled at the teacher. "I am so glad you came in, Mr. Hinckley." She welcomed him.
"You are really are military." he figured from the uniform.
She nodded. "I am. But these are provided by Knight Industries. No insignia." she motioned towards her clothing.
"I see." he stated. He looked at Daniel still in the clothes from school. "No uniform?"
"I'm not military. I'm contract." he explained. "Maybe I should formally introduce myself. I'm Dr. Daniel Jackson. I'm a linguist and archeologist." He offered a hand.
"I figured you were not really a student." he replied shaking his hand.
Sam offered her hand. "I'm Major Samantha Carter. I hold two PhD's and I'm also a pilot and engineer. I'm the tech expert."
"Please to meet the real you." he told her.
Bill spoke up. "Jack here is a Colonel. Wait until you see what they are sitting on here, Ralph."
"Star Gate?" he asked with an inkling.
"You should see this thing." Bill stated excited. "Now we got a way to go find our little friends who gave you that suit."
Sam motioned. "This way. I'll show you."
The group led Ralph through a door and into the room that housed the mini gate. His eyes settled on the ring. It seemed massive to Ralph. "That's the Star Gate?" he asked.
"It is." Sam nodded. "It works by creating a wormhole that connect to other gates on other planets."
Bill shoved a dog biscuit in his mouth and added. "They just walk through it, Ralph. Like a door."
Sam asked. "What are you eating, Mr. Maxwell?"
"Big biscuits." he replied. "I'm trying to quit smoking."
She soured. "That actually works?"
"So far." he replied.
Daniel quipped. "Least they have not put dog treats in our MRE's yet."
Jack stated. "They are edible. Shove some in your pockets next time we dial out, Daniel."
"I'm not eating dog treats, Jack." he sounded.
He excused. "Might find some pets off world."
He shook his head annoyed.
Ralph looked upon the ring. "So, can we actually go through this thing?"
Sam stated. "We already have. We recently used it to rescue a scientist who was lost in 1945. Dr. Earnest Littlefield."
Daniel noticed Teal'c was not around. "Where is Teal'c? I wanted to introduce him to Mr. Hinkley."
"Dom, String and Cait took him up in Airwolf." Jack stated sounding a bit down.
He asked. "Weren't they going to take you up?"
"I'm last on the list." he miffed.
Ralph asked. "Airwolf?"
Bill told him. "That super fast fancy chopper that's been flying around."
"That black helicopter." he recalled.
Bill added. "I guess it has a jet engine on it."
"That would explain why it can go so fast." Ralph had to agree. "So…what do you need me to do?"
"Bring in that suit so I can look at it." Sam told him.
"Sounds good." he agreed.
Meanwhile
Teal'c sat at the helm of Airwolf with Stringfellow Hawke. Caitlin took the jump seat near Dom in the rear. The Jaffa flew the chopper with ease thus far.
"Next part is a bit touchy, T." String told him.
Teal'c engaged the jets and was able to maintain control with ease.
"You got it." String smiled under the helmet.
"It is not hard." Teal'c stated. The task was easy for a Jaffa's advanced reflexes.
Caitlin stated. "I can never get it."
Dom stated. "He's Jaffa. I bet his reflexes are more advanced."
"Indeed." Teal'c agreed. He liked the feel of the bird, the helmet and the super cool gray flight suit.
String stated. "Let's put her through some maneuvers, T." He then stated, "Release some targets, Dom."
"Releasing boogies." he replied.
Teal'c went into the maneuvers with ease. He shot all the targets in mere moments.
String stated. "I can see why the Colonel has you on his team."
Dom cheered. "Let's add T. to Airwolf and have him fly missions with us."
Caitlin crossed her arms. "Gonna replace me?"
"Of course not, Cait." String soothed.
"Because if you do. Then I'm joining Jack's team and going off world with SG-1." she proclaimed.
String sighed.
Teal'c suggested. "That would be advisable. Major Carter could use some assistance."
Caitlin asked. "Doesn't the Colonel back her up."
He clarified. "It's Colonel O'Neill she would require assistance from."
Dom grinned. "I see the Colonel really likes his Major."
"Really!" Caitlin replied. "In thought he and Daniel had this weird relationship going."
Teal'c disclosed. "The Ancients created a mirror that allows one to travel from one universe to another alternate universe."
"Kind of lost me there, T.." Dom told him.
String understood. "Multi universe theory. It's a theory where they are different versions of earth, layered on top of one another. You would be able to cross from one version of earth to another."
Caitlin stated. "That's wild. Confusing but wild."
"Just confusing to me, Cait." Dom mentioned.
String asked. "So what happened with the mirror, T.?"
"An alternate version of Major Carter came through. She was not in the military. However, in that alternate version of earth she had married, ColonelO'Neill."
"Sam married Jack in another world?" Caitlin asked.
"Indeed." he confirmed. "In the time loop ColonelO'Neill repeatedly resigned from the Air Force."
"Why?" Cait wondered.
"So he could kiss, Major Carter." he informed. "The Major has no memory of it."
Caitlin started to laugh. "You are a fly on the wall, Teal'c."
"Indeed." he agreed.
