Hello. I don't have a fully fleshed out prompt idea, more like a concept to play around with. I've recently had a fascination with the concept of pirate AUs and have been trying to find Sonic ones. It makes no sense- since canon Sonic hates/is afraid of water/the ocean, but that's never stopped an AU before. Then again, no one said Sonic had to be the pirate. Maybe he's fighting pirates. Is there Sonamy involved? You decide. Go wild. Have fun. If you want to write about pirates, that is.

As drums pound, symbolizing the brotherly band of hearts that soar these skies, the clouds disperse ahead as a magnificent ship bursts through them like fluffy, floating waves.

The Ship gracefully, but with great weight and impact, barges through the clouds as though roughing the seas. It tears its way through and sails on with a green glow that blinds out the sun above them.

On the boat, the Master Emerald shines brilliantly hoisted down with ropes, tethered to the back of the boat… and below it, Captain Sonic stands with one hand resting on the steering wheel, tapping his finger and smirking at the happy tune his swashbuckling crew sing as they go about their duties upon the mighty Babylon Jewel!
Making fun of the tune, Knuckles mimes taking a shaving knife and scraping it up and down his belly as he sings. The crew jumps at the chorus line and begin to rhythmically go about their day with the song.

Tails, Sonic's first mate, is teased as he's thrown into the long boat over the side of the ship. The crew laughs as they keep him there but he smiles and twirls his tails, blasting himself forward and through them all to land safely back on the flying ship. He nods triumphantly as the men collapse behind him. The clouds rose up with his wake, and the deck on that side was now covered in mist.
Sonic gave him a thumbs up and then directed him to the wheel. Excitedly, Tails hurried to his side. Sonic ruffled his hair affectionately and moved down towards the stairs.

However, below the merry deck of the Babylon Jewel, lay the Red Rose Scarlets. These ladies were a fierce competitor of the seas, the true seas. Unlike the high-flying, Master Emearld-powered ship that Sonic had obtained through an alliance with Knuckles after the dastardly Eggman sunk the island by kidnapping it in the first place, the Red Rose wanted something other than the gift of flight…
They sailed below upon the seas, looking up in the clouds at the underbelly of the Babylon Jewel.
Captain Amy silently slid her hammer under her throat, giving the order as the girls wickedly smiled and pulled out the hooks… They aimed the long spears up towards the wooden hull and waited for the next order.
Blaze and Wave manned the first two hooks, and Rouge gently, though awkwardly, bade Cream to go under deck.
This was going to be a sneaky operation… they had to make sure it was flawless.

Sonic turned his head and stopped advancing to the deck when he heard the next line, confused as Tails just chuckled under his breath and shrugged to Sonic who looked at him perplexed. He hadn't heard this sea shanty before, having just recently taken up piracy when the opportunity to be above the water was available. He was a natural pirate captain though, only stealing from the crooks and running from the law. It was his speciality~

"We're awaiting your orders, Captain." Blaze spoke silently, looking to Amy as she took a deep breath.
"You lied to me once, Sonic." She folded her arms, speaking to herself as she looked up at the singing crew of green-flying light.
"…But I will have my revenge." She readied her hammer out in front of her, looking to her crew who were on edge,… not even blinking… ready.

Sonic moved back to the deck, unawares of what lurked below him, and patted Knuckles's back and moved over to Silver, who was using his abilities to sweep the poop-deck and keep the ship tidy. It was his day to clean, anyway, but he didn't mind.
They seemed to chat while Jet and Storm groaned and didn't participate in the singing.
"How could you lose the Babylon Jewel, boss? It's been in our family for centuries!" Storm billowed, as Jet's anger mark kept growing with intensity.
"Shut up! He cornered me! Fixed it! I couldn't-! Grr… We'll get it back! Even if it means mutiny!"
"S-shh… Boss… Not so loud." Storm tried to causion.
Jet grew so enraged he threw the mob down below him, crushing it with his continual foot stomps. "I'll get that hedgehog for stealing my family's heirloom! If it's the last thing I-!"
Sonic turned around the two whistled to the tune, acting like the perfect crew members, stellar in their dutiful tasks.
He smiled with an eyebrow raised, knowing full well Jet and Storm were not of that description.

Rouge drew her duel-guns, eyeing the top with anticipation as Cream peeked her head up from below deck.
Early in the mornin'…
Amy smiled, "FIRE!"
The hooks scaled all the way up from sea to sky, piercing the hull of the flying ship as the whole floating mass heaved and was pulled back by its strength.
Below, the Red Rose's anchor was dropped, two of them to be exact, as it reared up a moment at the strength of the Babylon Jewel.
"Steady!" Amy called, gripping the railing near her wheel and then looking to Shade who dived for the wheel and began using all her strength to wring it back and hopefully, turn the tide…
"What was that?!" Sonic cried out, feeling his feet slide out from under him before regaining his balance. Most of the crew had fallen down, but Knuckles had leaned against the captain's door to his quarters.
"Feels like-"
"We've been hit!" Tails interrupted Knuckles, peering over the steering wheel to look down at Sonic.
"MY SHIP!" Jet cried out, having fallen on Storm and quickly jumped off of him to peer over the railing. "Oh, Chaos…" He gripped his head, "PIRATES!"
"Jet, we're all pirates!" Silver looked concerned about that statement, wondering about Jet's IQ before Jet shook his head and turned to point back at what he was looking at. "No, you idiot! GIRL pirates!"
"The Rose?" Knuckles looked to Sonic, figuring it was the only 'girl' pirates they had a history with.
"Shoot!" Sonic's face strained to a unpleasant frown.
"Why is it she can always find us?" Shadow rose from below deck, throwing everyone their weapons as he addressed Sonic. "They're climbing up for a showdown."
"Already? But it's too-"
The entire crew shouted out, "Early in the mornin'!" and laughed, some even scaling down the side of the ship to the ropes, sword in hand.
"Well, if it's a fight they want, it's a fight they'll get!" Sonic caught his sword and swished it around, adjusting his captain's hat and jumping to the rim of the ship, peering down.
The second Amy saw his smug face, her eyes fixated on it and she immediately cried out, "Attack!" Dropping her hammer and then raising it up.
The girls were already climbing up the ropes, but seeing the boys falling down to meet them, they quickly got ready for a brawl.
Knuckles jumped the full distance down to the Red Rose, his impact with his feet shook the entire boat and had splashes rise up from the corners of the ship.
"Rouge." He greeted.
"Knuckle-head." She replied with a flirtatious hint in her tone before firing at him.
He rolled to dodge the bullets and then placed on his hard gloves with golden spikes. "Heh, been a while. How's the sailing?" He threw a punch towards her.
"Oh, you know." She dodged by arching her back completely, leaving him blinking at how flexible and fast she was. "Constant winds." She winked, holding a gun below his neck as he slowly moved back to let her extend her back properly up and straight again.
"Must be a view… always tracking MY Master Emerald…" he flicked the first gun away and punched her rising hand with the other.
"Offph!" she dropped the second gun but brought the other back up, blasting off his gloves to reveal the normal white ones underneath and then kicking him to his back. "Now, how is that any way to treat a lady?" she lowered her eyelids, seeing him defenseless. "The Second Mate is down, Captain." She giggled, as Amy raced by her.
"Cuff him and don't let him out of your sights!"
"More than happy to~" she gestured with her gun for him to turn around on his stomach. Begrudgingly, he saw how far she had blasted his gloves off and complied.
"Normally… I'd just face you hand-to-hand…" he thought of ways of getting out of this, but figured the others would get him a more… 'humane' way out.
She stomped a foot on his back and took his hands, binding them behind him. "Hush up, now. You're talking almost like a gentlemen." She teased.
Silver floated down and started to use his telekinesis to rip the hooks out of the hull, but before he could finish, a powerful blast of fire smeared across his side.
"Ah! Hey!" he turned to see Blaze upon the rope, defending her shoot. "Who… who are you?!"
"First Mate of the Red Rose!" She jumped, using her fire to propel her and then pulled out her sword.
"Wah!" He quickly pulled out his own sword and started to combat her. She jumped and balanced on the ropes. Her efforts of pushing him down to the deck of their ship succeeded though, he hadn't even realized he was floating down till his foot reached the bottom.
"Huh?" he looked down but Blaze pounced him, her sword to his neck…
"Pinned, Captain!"
"Bind him up!"
Amy was still knocking other crewmates of Sonic's away, trying to make it to him.
Sonic was doing fine against Wave and Shade, Shadow and Tails near him before Amy entered the scene.
"The Blue Boy's mine!" she cried out, jumping to land a powerful hammer hit, but he looked up and jumped out of the way.
"Have it your way, Rose." Sonic swished his sword around, leading her to the tip of her ship. "Couldn't live without me, eh, Rosy?"
"Grrr… You said if I handed over the Chaos Emerald, you'd marry me!" she charged after him as Shadow and Shade fenced it out and Tails fought against Wave.
Above, Jet and Storm watched the battles below.
"Heheheh…" Jet snickered. "While they're distracted, let's get my ship and skedaddle!" Jet was about to move towards the wheel when he looked up and saw Cream and Cheese flying up to stand on the steering wheel.
She looked to Jet and Storm and pointed to Cheese, "I was only told to secure the ship, but please play nice with Cheese!"
Cheese puffed up his chest and took out a huge canon, holding it on his shoulder like it was a light-weight.
"Chao, CHAO!" he blasted the canon like a bazooka. Jet and Storm cried out before jumping off the now blasted side of the ship they were at.
"AHHHH!" they crashed onto Shadow and Tails.
"Hey-OFFPH!"
"Secured!" Shade and Wave tied the four down.
"Well, well… Looks like I've finally caught the wind, haven't I? Captain Sonic…" Amy didn't turn her gaze away from him, but hearing that his crew was captured sent a huge confidence boost to her heart.
Sonic looked around, growing nervous. "I'll admit… you took us by surprise…"
"Oh? Is that all you can say to your future wife?" She spun her hammer, placing it over her shoulder. "Surrender now, Sonic. And I may spare your crew an… unfortunate fate." She pointed to his ship.
He looked up at the Master Emerald… still shining in its place.
"…Grr…" He had a few ideas of getting out of this mess, but then-
"Whew. I'm glad I snatched those two extra Emeralds from Eggman. Otherwise, I don't think I would have been able to find you as soon as I did."
His ears twitched and his eyes widened.
"Two… you say?" he smirked.
He fell to his knees and let the fake tears fly, "Oh, Captain Amy! I'm no match for your beautiful piracy!"
"…H-…Huh?" Amy looked down, unsure of what to make out of this behavior.
He gripped her dress from below, making her blush as he seemed to beg for his life. "I should have kept my end of the deal! Now how will I ever win such a rose of the sea! I'm a fool! Take me back, Amy! Take me ba-!"
She shoved her hammer into his gapping, pathetic mouth. "A-Al-Alright! That's enough! Take them below the bridge and string them up to the under-mass!"
"Aye, aye! Captain!"
Sonic's crew was tied to a giant beam that they supposed was what she meant by 'under-mass'. The part of the wood that continued down below deck.
Tied in sections, Tails squirmed to try and break free before noticing Cream watching him intently.
He sweatdropped and pulled his tails back under the ropes, hoping she wouldn't say anything.
"Well, Captain. I'd say it's about time to split the bounty."
Some of the girls laughed, and Amy just twirled the newly collected Choas Emeralds in her hands. "Well, the Captain's mine. And as we've always done, you can take your portions, ladies~"
After catching the tossed Chaos Emerald, she smirked at the remaining boys, Sonic was tied up separately from the beams, and lead away by Amy. "Have fun, but not too much fun, girls."
"Hmm… So many to choose from." Rouge teased Knuckles, moving her fingers over his muzzle, "But then again… I do kinda like the silent types." She peered over to Shadow who just looked away. "Blaze, why not take the white hedgehog? He's been staring at you all day…"
Blaze blushed and looked to Silver, who quickly turned his gaze with an equally embarrassed blush.
"Don't you even think about it!" Knuckles kicked back. "W-We're not some meat patties for sale!"
The girls laughed.
Sonic quickly stopped Amy from guiding him away, forcing a foot down. "Be warned, Amy… the same treatment you give my crew… is the same that will be offered to you."
She turned her head back, a bit spooked by the seriousness of his tone.
His crew heard that though, and raised their heads up,… they seemed to understand that he had a plan to turn the tables on this predicament…
Sonic's face was covered in the dark, but he turned to smile towards his crew. "…See ya soon." He stated and continued to willingly follow Amy out.
The girls began to disperse, still joking about which 'treasure' to take before Wave walked by Jet and Storm.
Jet was grumbling about his fate, first losing his family's ship and now this before Storm noticed a piece of symbolic jewelry off of Wave's bandana, dangling with the sign of their people on it.
"Hey! You're a-..! You're a Babylon Rogue!" Storm shouted out as Amy and the rest of the girls stopped while Wave flinched.
"W-what?" Jet stopped his disgruntled muttering to look up and saw what Storm had noticed first. "Ahh! You're right!" his eyes lit up with stars. "It's your sworn duty to serve me! I'm Jet the Hawk! A direct descendant of the legendary clan leaders! I'm your king!" he kicked and squirmed to make his point, but he kinda looked pathetically throwing a tantrum on the ground.
Wave's eyes looked conflicted, a bead of sweat dripping down her brow…
"…Wave?" Amy stopped Sonic as Blaze and Rouge took both his arms as Amy moved over to her.
"If I recall… you swore your allegiance to me… You know how I treat liars too."
Sonic stared back at them…
Wave bundled her fists together, "You're… You're supposed to be..?" she spoke her thoughts out loud, "H-how did you lose the ancestral ship!? You idiot!" she suddenly spoke very quickly, as was a trademark of hers and scolded the two, before turning back to walk out the door. "How could I ever serve an idiot who lost to a hedgehog!?"
"You-!" Jet held in a curse, "You're serving a hedgehog right now!"
"Don't worry, Rose. I wouldn't dare desert the winning side." She closed her eyes, regaining some composure after that outburst.
"…Very well, then. Take him to my quarters. Remain on guard. Blaze, you're steering for the port town tonight."
"Aye, aye, Amy." Blaze nodded, but as the doors closed to Sonic's crew, Sonic smirked back to Tails.
Once the doors closed, Tails popped out his twin tails and got to work.
"These ropes are tied a lot better than I thought…" He began to get disheartened after so long of struggling and being unable to untie their bounds. "What are these girls using?"
"Sheer strength." Shadow grumbled under his breath. "To think, Sonic allowed himself to be captured…"
"It's not like you were any better!" Jet cried out from the side, sitting down now that it seemed they were going to be here a while.
"What did you say?" Shadow grew more annoyed by his arrogant talk, "You didn't even join the battle!"
"We were… s-securing the ship!"
"You were going to steal it back, is what you were going to do." Tails commented, still fiddling with the knots.
"If you had even TRIED to steal my Master Emerald!" Knuckles shouted back before the doors slowly creaked open again.
The men all hushed.
Silver nervously added, "What if they really meant what they said? And they were going to take each of us…"
"Shut up, that was just an intimidation play. You can't seriously expect them to-" Shadow began but the door slid more open with keys dangling.
Wave poked her head through the door, "I'll take of the night shift, Cream. You just get some rest, alright?"
She closed the door and quickly headed over to Jet and Storm, touching her technological jewel to the rope and having it light up with cyber-fibers triggering the release of the mechanism.
Tails gasped, "It wasn't rope at all! Where'd you get this technology!"
"No wonder…" Shadow muttered, "They were extra careful after all… Amy really does want her revenge."
"You're… You're helping us?" Jet tossed the rope off of him as Wave helped Storm up, who happily scooped her up in a bear-hug.
"Ugh! Easy, big guy… Pfft, don't think this means I take back what I said about you! You still lost the Babylon Jewel! I'll never forgive you for that astounding idiocy!" She let Storm hug her and then gently place her back down.
"We're not leaving without the crew." Jet then stated, "One because they'll tell Sonic and he'll kick me off my own ship!" Jet gulped as Wave face-palmed herself.
"You're completely incompetent… aren't you?"
"Is that anyway to speak to your king!?"
"Ugh… keep your annoying voice down! I have a duty to fulfill… I'll join your crew if it means you PROMISE to get OUR ship back!" she waved a stern finger at him and then began to untie the rest of the crew.
"Our? Who said anything about our ship!" Jet protested, but Storm quickly intervened.
"B-bu-but, boss! The Babylon Jewel belongs to all Babylonians. Captained by their leaders descendants, it's unstoppable in its revolutionary technology and-"
"Quit it, Storm. You freak me out when you start talking smart sense with all that slow speech of yours…" Jet said begrudgingly. He looked exhausted, "Let's just get this escape plan over with and get back to our ship!"
"Better do it fast," Wave finished helping everyone out, it being the dead of night now, and looked to Tails, the first mate. "Amy has some plans for your… Captain." She sweatdropped as the whole crew flinched a moment with uncertainty.
Back at Amy's cabin, Sonic rested on a barrel and kicked his feet up, yawning as it seems Amy hasn't tried anything yet.
She was removing her hat at what looked to be a makeup mirror station and sighed. Was she nervous?
He opened one eye, staring back at her, "You know… I don't think you're as tough as all the rumors make you out to be."
She flinched, turning around to him and directing her hammer to the side of his face. "Y-You..! You don't know anything!" She was blushing, and he was rather calm.
"Hmm..? I know you're a lot sweeter than a crooked pirate. That's for sure." He lovingly hit the tip of her hammer with his nose. This action made her reel her hammer back and away from him, her face still red with her lies.
"I-… You promised to marry me!"
"Is that why you're taking us to the nearest port town? A criminal wedding arrangement?" he smiled, raising an eyebrow up. "So dastardly. Truly you're a rose with sanded thorns." He snickered.
"Hmph! I don't understand you, Sonic!" she turned around, pivoting and then twisting the tip of her shoe into the wood floor below… looking like a lovesick girl.
"W… Why did you lie to me? I don't think you're much from your rumors, either! A swashbuckling Robin Hood? Ha! You only steal from the Eggman Fleet, anyway! That's hardly piracy if his only goal is to take over the world." She stuck her nose up, thinking herself back on top when Sonic just spoke again.
"Then why do you want those Chaos Emeralds so badly?" he itched his nose nonchalantly with the tip of his pointy, red and white striped, buckled shoe.
"…Because…" she lightly skimmed her fingers over a drawer, and Sonic eyed that motion out of the corner of his eyes.
"T-that doesn't matter!" she pounded the table aggressively, turning around to him.
"Why did you deceive me? You could have just stolen the Chaos Emeralds without promising-!"
"Woah, woah, little rascal, I never said anything about a 'promise'." Sonic interrupted. "You heard only what you wanted to hear. And besides…"
He leaned his head towards her own, angry one. "To protect a girl's innocent heart, you break it and hope she's wise enough afterwards to stay away."
Amy eyes sparkled, seeing how close they were to one another.
He smirked and tilted his head, "Guess I should have figured… a girl like you doesn't quit so easily…"
There was a moment of silence… then Amy began to lean into him and he broke his persona, growing nervous and leaning away from her with frightened eyes.
"Traitor!", "Captain! We've been betrayed!", "Stop them! They're heading up the ropes!"
"What?" Amy turned around but Sonic's whole demeanor changed at hearing those cries from beyond the captain's cabin door.
He looped his feet around her body and threw her down.
"WAH!"
"Excuse me." He rolled off of her and used his tied hands behind him to open the drawer.
"What are you doing?! Get back here! Hey!" Amy tried to get up but he danced around her reaching hands from the ground.
"Sorry, Rose." He winked, "Guess the wedding date's gonna have to be postponed!" he fiddled with the drawer till it popped out of its socket, racing with it behind him and full of Chaos Emeralds to the door. "In here, mates!" he cried out.
Knuckles burst through the door, Sonic side-stepping and using his feet to block Amy from getting hit by any of the debris.
"Just in time." Sonic winked and tossed Knuckles the drawer of Chaos Emeralds.
"Ah… These are…" Knuckles's eyes were blinded by his amazement at holding so many sparkling Chaos Emeralds in one box.
"Not all of them, buddy. But that's two more to the pile." Sonic saw Wave beside Jet and Storm and looked confused.
She sighed, walking over and using her bead to free him of his chords.
"Makes sense." Sonic rubbed his now free wrists. "Not like girls can't tie good knots, but these were something else." He smiled to her.
"…I…" Wave looked ashamed, but Sonic just placed his hand on her shoulder.
"I know. Welcome to the Free Winds." He beamed.
Wave looked up and held back a smile, whacking his hand off of her. "I serve for the ship's sake! If you're her captain, then for now, anyway… you're my captain too."
Jet grabbed a sword out of Blaze's hands and with Storm grappling her from behind, held it to her throat. "Are we done with negotiations, Sonic?" He refused to call him captain…
"Heh, new change in plans, boys!" Sonic was tossed his sword and jumped to the beam of the ship, cutting the ropes to send him up to the crow's nest. "The Red Rose has so graciously offered up her wood to repair our own!"
The crew laughed.
"And as I said before, with the same curtsey as they showed us, let us not shirk to do the same!"
"Aye!"
Espio and Vector, who had been hiding with Charmy on the ship above, revealed themselves to have been an extra backup in the case the crew didn't make it back.
All together, they cornered the girls and tied them up, once again, to the beams of their own ships.
Sonic got the crew all down below deck and tossed a knife inbetween the pillars where the girls were tied up.
"There. With all the rocking of the ocean, one of you is bound to have that knife slide over to you. Now… what was it you said last time, Amy?" he tapped his finger to his muzzle, then chuckled and winked to the boys. "Split the bounty, was it?"
Knuckles moved over to wave, "Gee, so many… but which to decide?" he skimmed his golden and spiked tip gloves over her muzzle before looking to Shade, "But I do like the silent types too."
"Oh, go jump off the mast!" Rouge countered.
Tails chuckled, "Hey, Silver. The cat's been staring at you all day."
Silver flinched, but continued to stare at Blaze as she closed her eyes, sweat from the awkward situation lingering on the side of her face. "This isn't the end, Hedgehog… Our captain will-!"
Amy burst into tears, "You can't just leave us here! Sonic! You wouldn't be so cruel! Have mercy!"
The girls all lost hope then, sighing.
Cream looked to Tails, "What if the knife stabs us while we're asleep, Mr. Fox?"
Tails whispered quietly to her, holding a hand up so the other girls didn't hear him. "Don't worry, we didn't tie the ropes very tight. They'll loosen way before the knife method works." His little comfort brightened her once terrified face.
"Oh, thank you, Mr. Fox!"
He winked to her, not wanting her to worry too much.
"Alright, crew! Fall out!" Sonic began to walk away before remembering something. "Oh yeah…" he moved over to Amy.
She stopped crying to look up, hoping with all her heart that maybe… just maybe… he…
Sonic took out her captain's hat, dusted it off, and placed it on her head, wiggling it into position to be nice, firm, and tight.
He also whispered to her, so no one else could hear, "There's a reason I need those Chaos Emeralds. Eggman has to be stopped."
She blinked her eyes, not sure what he meant by all that.
"He's more dangerous than you or I could possibly imagine. But if you ever want to team up, I wouldn't mind another few mates on the Babylon Jewel." He smiled down to her sweetly, tapping the hat's tip in an affectionate farewell.
"Bye, girls! Happy trails on the seas! As for us, we prefer the skies!"
Once gone, Sonic was deeply sick. They fled away, leaving some of the Red Rose still intact so the girls could reach that port town safely. But his legs weren't used to the sea, and he was mostly green in the face until the skies rocked him gently back into his old, confident, pirating ways!
Part 2 COMBINED

Upon one summer's morning, I carefully did stray~
A torn-up ship, covered in the mist of the morning, finally drifts to dock upon a gloomy-looking dock…
Down by the Walls of Wapping, where I met a sailor gay~
A silhouette of a familiar girl hedgehog suddenly steps up as a shadow from a dock boy's lantern, as he gapes at the faces of her and her crew.
Conversing with a young lass, who seem'd to be in pain~
The Red Roses' crew began their way through town, their emblems dangling, swords and guns clanking against their belts fashioned with steel. The thugs around the pirate port, legendary for its legends, watched the girls with leering eyes.
Saying, William, when you go, I fear you'll ne'er return again~
The shadow of Amy Rose, the captain over the all-girl crew, suddenly stops by a picture of Sonic's ransom flyer. She rips it off, looking for clues on his last whereabouts… Port Angel.
"Knuckles's fallen island?" Rouge steps forward, her face now revealed, looking up as though to Amy.
The shadow looks to a nearby pub.
She swings the doors open, as the crowd inside, once merry with boisterous loud laughter, suddenly quiet and gaze towards her and her wandering crew…
They stand, full of purpose at the door's way.
" My heart is pierced by Cupid," Amy begins to sing, walking forward. "I disdain all glittering gold…"
The rest of the men in the room seem superstitious, eyes widening at the siren's song.
"There is nothing can console me," She stabs a table, making a bar maid flinch. "But my jolly sailor bold~" she slowly sits down, lifting her feet up onto the table.
At last, we see her face. Scorned.
"Come all you pretty fairmaids, whoever you may be." As she continued to sing, the girls began to unhood some of the pub's men, who waved their arms violently to such brutish grabs.
"Who love a Jolly Sailor, that ploughs the raging sea…" Amy tips her captain's hat up, gesturing for a drink as the frightened bar maid hurriedly goes back to work and starts to fix one up for her.
"Fated Captain of the Red Rose… You must know, the sailor whom you call with such a lovely ditty… he flies the free winds, and has never once tried to tame the ocean's wrath."
Amy sat up then, scowering the pub then for the voice that spoke.
"It is within its nature to rage… quite like your love unrequited." There was a brown, dirtied hooded man by the bar counter, placing his drink down.
The girls all looked to each other, then held their sabers and rapiers, moving towards him slowly and looking to Captain Amy to give them the word…
She grinned, but only for a moment, getting up. "If you knew the siren's song… you wouldn't call it a little ditty… it's meant to strike misery into the listener… a cursed song indeed." She summoned her hammer, as a few more hidden figures suddenly began to form around the group of girls.
The hooded figure turned around, his long nose now showing through. "But alluring is its purpose. Does despair and love go hand in hand? Is that why you can't seem to end this pointless pursuit?"
"I'm just addicted to the chase." She pulls out a lady's pistol and shoots out a light.
The figure smirks.
"I'm here to find out why Sonic needs those blasted emeralds… then take them from him." she looks to her crew, who know they're about to be ambushed.
The figure's gloves fashionably sway a moment, very animated, as he moves them up to rest on his chin. He's clearly curious of her intentions… "Then how interesting! Tell me, Red Rose Captain… how have your searches faired you?"
"Very well." She nods and her crew begin to spar. They immediately turn to those behind them, as their hoods and disguises come off, revealing Knuckles, Shadow, Tails, and even Silver.
"Took you long enough to find me." the hooded man shrugs, before hopping off his stool and pulling off the hood. "Though I have to say, this is rather faltering."
"It's a strong supercision that women upon a ship are a curse…" Amy slowly raises her hammer to him, but he continues to smile in confidence, smug as anything. "They used to throw them into the sea if found onboard… and legend says those drowned girls turned into the mermaids who sing to lure men to their drowned dooms…"
"Pity. If they only knew how strong a woman's sword could be. Or in this case, a pretty intimidating hammer." Sonic complimented, speaking with a hand gesturing a bit. "A round on us, ladies?" he then moved his long hooded cloak to address the rest of the crew, but they were frozen in their first strike stances.
Tails suddenly jumped to his hands and revealed his twin tails held twin swords, swiping out two more lights as the pub went dark.
Amy, a little shocked by the sudden pitch blackness, heard the wood creak and the rest of the people scatter from the pub, not wanting to be caught in the middle of a pub showdown.
She breathed a moment to calm herself and looked around, trying to hear through the scrambling footsteps before a gloved hand looped around her throat, pulling her head back.
"Ah-!" she was cut off mid-cry as Sonic's sword gleamed from a window…
"Enough of this hunting, Amy. We should team up, you and I! Why steal when we can join forces?"
"I won't fall for another empty proposal again!" she remained still, though she could hear her crew fighting now.
"Proposal? Haha! I'm talking about a union of the crews! Not of hearts. Or does that engage your 'seas'?" he suddenly, very tenderly, lowered his sword to skim her figure.
"His hair it hangs in ringlets…His eyes as black as coal…" he lightly sang in her ear, causing a strange sensation to come over her. Danger and seduction… seemed to also be part of the siren's allure. "My happiness attend him…" he whispered, "Wherever he may go~"
She suddenly closed her eyes, fighting back against the song's powerful temptation, and the roughness of his voice… the gentle touch of his blade's blunt, flat metal against her dress…
"From Tower Hill to Blackwall!" she ducked and swung her hammer to his legs, feeling him get thrown off. "I'll wander, weep and moan!" she charged him, "All for my jolly sailor-!" Then something sharp stabbed into her arm, pausing her downward assault…
Bar maidens turned on the lights with flickering glow, as Amy saw his sword had pierced her to stop the attack… but missing her heart.
Sonic's eyes looked guilt-stricken but also serious… he wasn't going to let her conquer his crew again.
She looked to her girls… all having been tied up or pinned down by the sheer numbers now.
Wave… the traitor… had given them contact lenses to see in the pitch-black dark, where only the light of the windows could reveal anything.
"Until he… sails home…" she pulled out of his sword.
"Amy!" he cried out, throwing the sword down by his side and reaching for her.
She fell back, " My heart is pierced by Cupid, I disdain all glittering gold…" she closed her eyes, feeling the cold wood slam against her back, the pain spiking through her being.
"There is… nothing… can console me," Sonic embraced her, pulling her up to him, crying out her name as the room spun and grew dizzy. "But my… jolly… sailor… bold…" She fainted.
When she awoke, she was on the Babylon Jewel. Her crew had sworn loyalty to Sonic if he'd save her life. Which they did, they infusing Chaos energy through the Master Emerald into her, an instant healing agent.
When she came too, he agreed to let her still govern her swashbuckling ladies, but in return, help him stop Eggman's fleet and save the waters below and skies above.
Eggman was planning to wreck the very nature of balance and conquer the world, he had to be stopped, and the Chaos Emeralds–along with the Master Emerald–had the power to stop him.
Begrudgingly, she agreed…
But he must also promise… to marry her.
Engaged, or so it seemed, the two set off as one united fleet… the Red Rose below trailing the Babylon Jewel above…
However… Amy still held 'captain contests' as much as she could… and this time- something stabbed her heart more powerful than any sword.
