Prompt:
"The ships down." Hunk whacked an alien-looking wrench tool to the side of the busted containment vessel. It was meant to carry a huge load of resources they had found on a distant junk meteor, left behind by centuries of neglect. At least,… they hoped it wasn't Zarkon, but in their hearts, they knew that this was probably the aftermath of something.
Pidge was fixing the new robot she had required, her glasses shining in passionate focus at trying to figure out how to best help the little thing. While she was deep in this process, she was about to speak up and say something when Lance tripped over the pile of junk she had found and thought to maybe put to good use.
He spilled out all he was carrying, groaning something under the trash before throwing his arms up in flailing bewilderment. "What are we supposed to do with all this crap!?"
"Hey! Watch it! This isn't just some scrapheap!" Pidge protested, lifting a leg up and rolling him off her collected stuff. "Can't you see this stuff can be salvage? Every part can go to another part. Everything has its use. Kind of like how we fit into all this mess."
As she explained the treasure in her eyes, Lance just rubbed his sore butt and pouted. He watched her yap away and moaned when she was done, getting up with a forceful push that he was running in the air of space for a minute—due to the gravity change—and fell gently back down onto the ground.
"Hey, quit fooling around," Shiro stepped out from the busted ship, holding some items over his shoulder and others under his arm. He hefted them back into a balanced positioned before finishing his thought, "We don't know who or what is out here. Just stay alert."
"Aye, aye!" Hunk teased lightly, but after seeing Shiro's narrowed look, he sweated a bit with a submissive smile, hurrying back over to Pidge.
"H-have you seen anything that can go to…" he looked around, then picked up something and tried to forcefully shove into the piece of equipment he was holding. When it finally clicked into place, he jumped on both feet in glee and rushed off, "Nevermind!"
"See? Even random things can fit together." Pidge smiled, turning back to Lance.
"Hey! Are you even listening to me?!" She cried out, shouting loudly as Lance kicked some pile of gabage over and walked with his hands by his sides
"Whatever…" he muttered.
"Don't 'whatever' me. I'm not fifteen!" Pidge jumped perfectly into the gravity, scaling a bit over heaps and heaps of scrap metal before landing by Lance's side. "Are you okay? You've been less… how do I put this…" she turned away for a minute, then looked back at him, worried. "Jokey… lately."
"Well, we've all been on edge. But no matter how much you lighten the mood…" he looked out into the universe, Pidge staring along with the direction of his eyes. "…There's still a mess out there."
"You fit in that mess, though." Pidge smiled, trying to brighten up the mood. "You just have to find the right piece that you connect too."
He looked down at her, "The lions?"
She nervously smiled and shifted her eyes back to the ship, suddenly becoming awkward.
"Y-yeah! The lions! Of course, it's the lions! We're like- chosen and s-stuff like that!" she spoke a bit with her hands before looking behind him and growing annoyed. "Ugh." She moved him out of the way as a laser blasted by them.
Lance was shaking in fright in her hands, as she looked over to Princess Allura. "I'm guessing that's the particle gun you were looking for?"
It looked weathered, rusted, and overall trashed; but the steam coming from the large cylinder pipe, held up by such a pretty dainty woman answered it for her.
Allura's eyes sparkled, "Yes! It's perfect! And still in working order!"
Lance was placed down and just whistled a moment, "You sure you can lift that thing to camp?"
Pidge noticed the 'not-so-subtle' flirt and puckered her lips in frustration, frowning when she finally spoke, closing her eyes to block out her emotions from his eyes. "She clearly just blasted that thing to Timbuctoo. What makes you think she needs your help?"
He turned to her with a wide smile on his face, confidently placing his hands on his hips. "Every part needs another part to work, right?"
Normally, this would be enough to satisfy her. He was saying something actually logical and also profound, something she wasn't used too but appreciated seeing in the silly man.
However…
Now was not that such case.
"Whatever." She replied, sarcastically, as she looked away as though a still eye-roll. "Let's just fix up the ship and get back to saving the universe."
"Come on, Pidge! I was only saying what you said! But with how I said it, it sounded more poetic. Don't you agree?" he gestured to her, then himself, and then basked in his fictional glory. Spreading his arms out to receive the praise, she had already began walking back with Allura and her giant canon still weightless on her shoulder.
"So, are we stuck eating that stuff for the rest of the trip?"
"Possibly."
"Is that you trying not to say yes?"
"…P-possibly…" Allura nervously hid her face behind the enormous canon.
"HEY!" Lance bolted up to the girls, "Why do I feel like I'm being shunned?!"
Pidge chuckled to herself slightly, and Allura noticed the strange glow on her cheeks.
"Are you alright?"
"Y-yeah. He just… he's something, isn't he?" She shook her head, but Allura took that a different way.
The little alien mouse friend suddenly appeared running up to her other shoulder, staring at Pidge and then whispering something to Allura's ear.
"Oh my! Pidge! Are you..?" Allura was about to ask if she was attracted to Lance when Lance sped up and looped an arm around Pidge.
"Got'cha! Hoo… this 'defying gravity' thing is really quite a workout."
"It's really not." Pidge teased.
"Pidge… carry me." He grumbled, leaning his head against her back.
"You're a grown man! Walk yourself!" she lifted her head up, refusing him but smiling slightly when she felt his feet lift off the ground and let her carry his weightless self like Allura lifting the floating canon.
Allura just watched but seemed to remain silent as a small, understanding smile graced her own lips.
The little alien mouse giggled into its paws and Allura nodded with a wink towards him, whispering.
"I agree. They fit together rather snug together, don't they?"
The mouse nodded, gleefully.
(I did what I could -shrug- I haven't watched the show in a long while ^^; )
