The sun softly lit up the city as Sonic looked out over the landscape of tall buildings and distant clouds that didn't look so far from reach up this high.
He had to make an important decision today, one he was hoping he didn't have to make…
Amy had asked him to meet her in the park, and stated she felt it was important to say something to him, and asked him to promise her to be there this early in the morning.
Worried and curious as to what she would say, Sonic wondered and worried even more what he would say back…
Walking up to the park, he knew whatever he did say, that he wouldn't lie to Amy. If whatever she was going to say was that important that he had to promise to show up, then he wouldn't make her effort at being sincere come in vain.
The mist fell on the park as he stepped forward, ready to answer whatever she may ask him, as she shyly turned from behind the tree, glad he made it, but scared and nervous about what she had to say.
It was beginning to weigh heavily on her chest, as she stepped forward out of the trees, and stood in front of him.
the music died down as they just stared silently at each other, the wind blowing by them as Sonic waited for whatever she was going to say.
"…I… um." she stopped herself, and tried again. "Thank you for coming."
"…Anytime, Amy." he stated, but she noticed how he was holding back any real emotion. He must be just as tense as she was…
"…I realized… I have been asking you all these years to be more… well… open about things, but I haven't been completely open with you… A-and.." she looked down, holding her hands out in front of her, before putting them behind her back so she wasn't distracted into playing with her fingers.
She looked up, and to the side of her, head still down in a shy way. "All these years I've stated how much I cared about you, but never really said the… the words…" she looked down. "I … I want to say them now… because I don't think it's fair to you that I haven't said them … and have still claimed to be your girlfriend.."
Sonic watched silently and listened closely, but didn't move or say a word.
She looked up, nervous more than ever, before taking a deep breath, and striking a strong look on her face. "I'm sorry I haven't said it sooner… but Sonic, I…! From the first moment I met you I-… I…" she was tensing up, and her body shook a little in fright, as she didn't know why she couldn't get the words out.
"I…" she started crying, and not really sure why.
"…Amy…"
She quickly looked up, a little shocked he spoke, "Y-yes?" she wiped her tears away.
"…Let's go watch the sunset."
"..Ah." Her eyes widened.
"…You see.." he looked down a moment and then up to the city, "These buildings are too tall, you can't see or even feel the sunlight from way over here." he then turned, kindly back to her. "Want to go see it?" he asked.
They stared at one another for a moment, as Amy smiled and closed her eyes, looking down. 'Typical Sonic.' she grinned and nodded to him, holding back any further tears.
"Em! I'd love too!" she cried out.
He smiled at seeing her beam in joy, and knew that in that moment, she said what she wanted too.
And he heard every word.
(cries forever, don't look at me, I'm such a sonamy garbage truck right now, dumping all these feels out. UGH, so beautiful tho, I- goodbye. dead. dead in my garbage can of feels.)
