Forced into yet another Story Book adventure (At first I wanted Arabia, but eh, that's kinda been done…) Sonic is teleported to the legend of Robin Hood, where he must 'steal back' the Chaos Emeralds from the King's treasury, but we all know that that's not the real king. Richard the lion heart is still missing, and his little brother runs the throne, and while Sonic accidentally saved young hunter Tails, who was poaching in the king's forest, he must now crash the King's brother's party with a big showy demonstration of his rebellion.
Forced to play the role of 'Robin Hood' Sonic takes on the Hood and goes in, blending in with the crowd as he spots Amy, well, not really Amy, but in this world, she's known as Maid Marian. In order to dodge the guards, Sonic quickly asks her to dance, (really, he was only comfortable with dancing with her, because she reminded him of Amy, the only familiar face besides the Sharif, Eggman, that he knew.)
The player must click a series of fast rhythmic buttons to keep Sonic light on his toes, as he uses his speed to dash around the ball room, getting to the king to forward the story.
After the player beats the first wave, a mini-pause cutscene is played.
"Wow, uh, I mean. I don't believe I've met you before, sir. What brings you to Nottingham?" Amy/Marian looks to be immediately taken aback by Sonic, and tilts her head, looking away cutely for a moment in modest shyness.
"Ah, you know. I never like to miss a party! But really, I just have some business to get too here… For how to get back home." Sonic awkwardly states, not sure if he should reveal what he's planning to her just yet.
"Back home? Are you lost?"
"Oh no, just in these steps..!"
When the second wave is cleared.
"My, you said you were lost, but I think you're rather good at dancing! A natural even!" she's spun around as Sonic smiles, still keeping an eye on where the King's table is…
"Well, what can I say? I'm a fast learner, and you're a great help. I mean, a great motivator. After all, any guy would want to impress a girl like you."
She giggles, "Charming. But charm isn't the only thing that wins a lady's heart… let's see how you do with the finale."
"F-finale? Then I only got one last shot at this… all right, let's go!" He is speaking about getting to the king, but she thinks he means impressing her…
"Hehe, that's the spirit!"
end of the dance.
"I still never caught you're name…" After they bow to each other, she looks at him curiously, before he dashes away.
"Oh, call me Sonic Hood!" Sonic whispers back, maneuvering through the crowd as he's finally close enough to the king! But he's actually enjoying the idea of being in Robin Hood's shoes!
