I was actually at a 'professional television writing' panel at Comic con once with my father, and the professionals stated, "Don't write a Birthday episode. It's the most generic thing you can do and everyone knows how it ends. Please, just don't." and the crowd laughed XD But you know what?

(B-day party! here we go!)
The team is wrapped up in mission after mission, not seeming to have any time to themselves…
Amy has been told to stay and look after the village defense while they keep tirelessly fighting Eggman outside it.
Feeling rejected and kinda 'pushed to the side' Amy begins to wonder through town. But everyone freaks out when they see her and closes the windows or packs up their stuffs and flees.
She hates being alone, and she walks by a calendar on a wall and exclaims that it's her birthday, before getting depressed again, and realizing no one remembered, not even her…
Feeling she's not as important or loved as she may have thought she was, and that no one seems to really care about her, she leaves and runs off to celebrate her party with Sticks.
Sticks has NO IDEA what a birthday party is, so when Amy states it's "My Birthday today!" she thinks Amy is giving birth and today is the day! She starts planning to be an aunt when Amy explains it's the day SHE was born, and that she's not pregnant…
"Oh, good." Sticks 'phew's and wipes some sweat off her brow. "I was about to confess, I don't nothin' about day's of birth celebrations. I just didn't want you to realize that…"
"Aw, Sticks, it's okay… I just wish someone would have thought about me… or been nice, at least, today of all days…" she depressingly sits down and sighs, as a knock comes from the door.
Sticks hesitatingly opens it, looks shocked, looks to Amy, and then is forced out of the door. Amy's ears flick as she hears some shouted whispers before Sticks comes back in, looking greatly troubled.
"What's wrong, Sticks? I thought for a moment you were being kidnapped!" Amy had her hammer out, not sure what was happening as Sticks sweated profusely and twiddled her fingers.
"Gee, that would of been bad, right!? Haha! Anyway-" she looked to be rather nervous, her words seemed fake too. "Why don't we head back to the village? Then maybe the hub? I hear the gang's home. hah….hahhahahah."
"…Are you okay, Sticks?"
"I'M FINE! WHY!? SOMETHING SURPRISING ABOUT MY BEHAVIOR?! PFFT! I'm surprised you're not used to my mannerism by now, Amy! Geez! I'm shocked your my best friend but, surprisingly, you don't act unsurpriseful at all this surprisement in my behavior that is, clearly, not full of surprise." Sticks was… well, being Sticks so Amy just looked at her confusingly and shrugged.
"Well, I just thought that-"
"YOU'D BE SURPRISED?!" she went right up in her face, biting her nails.
"Uh..well.. no?"
"Oh good.." she sighed, drooping over and hunching her back as she leaned up and grabbed Amy's hand. "Then you're still under-surprised!"
They ran out to the village, as it seemed decorated with a small parade as everyone saw Amy and started cheering, throwing her on a parade float with a throne as she was carried to the hub.
"W-what's going on!?" Amy shouted out, trying to remain on the decorative throne as people pushed a crown on her head with a ribbon on it.
"Just to be clear, your NOT surprised yet, right?!" Sticks shouted, jumping on the throne's side and holding on for dear life, still seeming scared she failed.
They made their way to the hub where everyone grew quiet, the celebrating of something stopped, and Amy slowly, with a huge puzzled expression on her face, opened the door. "…H-hello?" she stated.
"SURPRISE!" the lights flickered on as her closest friends popped out from their hiding spots. "HAPPY BIRTHDAY!"
"SURP-OH SHOOT! I WAS TOO LATE! Wait! We have to go back and do it again!" Sticks pulled Amy outside as Amy was genuinely shedding tears at how wonderful it all was. Everyone had pulled all the stops to keep her birthday a surprise, but was feeling kinda dumb for not getting it with Sticks either.
The rest of the day was joyful and full of partying! Sonic even DJ'd. "This one goes out to the Birthday Girl!" he cried out, having composed his own song as everyone seemed to jump in and sing a verse, just praising Amy and celebrating they're friendship with her.
(Not very romantic, but there's not much 'romance' you can do with a birthday party you know? It's not like your alone! haha XD)
