It Just Doesn't Make Sense

Things are about to get a little more crazy and confusing as the story progresses ladies and gentlemen. More camera footage goes missing, someone is caught in camera but they are unidentified. Nico will have to talk about Lillian to Jewel and Lila. Sofia will get a shock when finishing her shift. So much to look forward to! So without further ado, let's get right back to it!

Let's Start With Lillian…

Lillian had been sat at the security desk scanning through every clip of security footage that was recorded on the cameras. Most of the camera angles surrounding the area just outside of the walk in freezer were working operationally. So you would have thought that if someone came charging at the freezer, they'd be able to pick up on who he or she may be.

She meticulously reviewed every clip from the camera footage that was found around the time that Lila walked into the freezer. But couldn't find anything regarding her being locked inside it.

"Found anything yet?" Nathaniel came back with two cappuccinos for the two of them, as they scanned the footage very thoroughly.

"Nothing. Absolutely zilch! El zippo!" She sighed in defeat and focused her main attention on the camera that was down the hallway from the freezer. "Looks like RDJ was right. Someone had erased the footage from that specific time on every camera."

"How is that even possible? They would need a code to get into the security system. And only myself, Blu, Jewel and RDJ have clearance. Who else would have access?" The red eyed man pondered in curiosity.

"No idea…but I do not like this one bit! Every single minute I'm spent thinking about this, makes me feel like I'm in a fucking horror movie." She shivered at the thought of it. Who would want to be in this kind of scenario, when they don't even have any evidence to support their case? As nobody was seen entering or leaving the freezer.

"Let's just focus on the task at hand shall we? Now…hold on a minute…" Nathaniel gradually moved Lillian aside on her chair that had wheels on the legs.

"What are you doing?" The canary female was taken a little bit by surprise, after not finding any evidence at all. How would he find something that she didn't?

"Look, what the heck is that thing?" Nathaniel pointed out with his finger that on one of the cameras. A person wearing a hoodie and cargo pants was briefly spotted on the camera overlooking the second floor. "What is that?"

"What was what? I didn't see anything?" She obviously hadn't had the same observational ability that the blue man had. So he needed to rewind the footage, so he could show her what he noticed.

"Here, I'll rewind it…" Nathaniel replayed the footage from the camera on the second floor, moments before the footage was erased from every camera. And for a split two seconds, you can see a figure in the hallway wearing a hoodie. But you couldn't see their face, tail or gender. "There. You see that?"

"What the hell?" Lillian paused on the moment it appeared on the screen. Using a wireless connection she clicked on the image and clicked print. Then the printer had printed out a photo of that image and she took it to give the image to Blu immediately. "I'm going to take this to Blu and see if we can get the police to deal with this."

"Good idea. I'll keep scanning the footage to try and find a connection." Nathaniel nodded, swivelling on the chair to click through more footage. Trying to find anything that could support the lead they already have.

"Alright. See you in a little while." Lillian nodded and made her way up to the elevator and headed towards the office.

Nathaniel did what he was going to do, by scanning the footage for any signs of the person who tried to kill Lila in the freezer.

But as he thought he was going to be on his own for a little while…he was so glad to hear that someone else was there with him.

"Hey you…"

"Hmmm?" Hearing a sweet and gentle voice to him only meant one thing.

"Room for one more in your…little investigation?" Skyler appeared from down the hallway. Leaning up against the wall whilst crossing her arms.

"Haven't got any patients?" He chuckled slightly, twirling his flashlight in his hand. Before clumsily dropping it on the floor and now he feels like an idiot. "Oops, that was a stupid idea…" He blushed a light pink in embarrassment.

"Smooth…" She giggled behind her hand and turned away from him a little.

"Hey now…I was the one who got the power working again." He charmingly replied, smiling at her with this sexy smoulder. Which actually melted Skyler's heart, believe it or not. She couldn't resist the smoulder he gave her.

"Blu told me about that. He told me that you happen to be…very good with your hands? That's good to know…" Skyler giggled again and smoothly hopped on the revolving seat next to him. "So, anything new on the person who attacked Lila and Jewel?"

"I mean, we got a slight image here of a person wearing a hoodie. But they are facing the camera head on, and they are looking down. So we can't see an actual face, species or gender. This is not going to be enough to ID a suspect." Nathaniel sighed after clicking off the camera for a moment. "So how was your first meeting with your first patient?"

"Ughhh…" She appeared to be irked by that question. "I had the creepiest guy in there. I think he is is one of the murderers from the prison programme. Wouldn't stop starting at my large boobs, while doing a honking motion with his hand."

"Maybe he just wanted to grab sone boob?" He joked mischievously, earning a playful shove from her.

"Oh stop it! I couldn't get him to sit still for two minutes while I had him answer the opening questionnaire." She giggled and smiled at him seductively. "Besides, if you asked nicely…I'd only let you grab some boob…"

"Ahem-Ughh…Th-Th-That's ummm…That's g-g-good to know!" Nathaniel stuttered nervously, as his face had gone a bright bright purple. He was really blushing uncontrollably, especially because she was so beautiful. And he absolutely adored how sweet her voice was.

"Hehehe…You look so cute when you are nervous…" She purred like a puma and winked at him playfully. Right before scooting a little closer to him. "It's a shame you weren't in that room with me. I felt uncomfortable being around that criminal by myself."

"Don't worry about it. Only two more days until they go back home to being rammed up the ass by several dudes in prison." Both blue macaws chuckled in amusement and sighed in relaxation.

"Tell me Nath, did it ever get this crazy in your last job? Like, as crazy as this?" Skyler leaned back on her chair.

"Not as bad as the first two days working here. But I do admit that I have had some real shady dealings in my last job." Nathaniel grinned and did a little scan of the hallways to double check that everything was in fact clear.

Luckily for him it was all clear.

"Oh please tell me at least one single shady dealing. I would love to know how crazy it had gotten with that person." She appeared to be very excited to hear his story.

"Well…I was chosen to do the lunch time shift, and I was about to get a coffee. But as I made it to the canteen, seven students were starting a fight in the middle of the canteen. So I had to get in there and break it all up to avoid any trouble being caused further."

"Oh damn! There must have been several injuries to those who were involved in such fights?"

"Not really Skyler. All of them were throwing punches like a bunch of giant pussies fighting over a can of hairspray." He rolled his eyes at the thought of it.

"Well…aren't we lucky to have such a big, strong man to keep an eye out for any danger?" She batted her eyelashes seductively, scooting a little closer to him.

"Big strong man huh? Well I'm just glad that the new nurse is beautiful, sexy and seems so genuine." He spoke with a lot of charm in his tone of voice.

"Hmmm…Beautiful and sexy huh? Hehe…You do know how to make a girl blush." Her cheeks began to flush a bright shade of purple at the compliment. "Never has a guy complimented me quite like that before."

"Really? I would have thought that you've received a lot of them?" The red haired macaw was shocked about what she just told him. Not really sure on how to react to it.

"Nope. You would actually be the very first guy to give me such a compliment. Thank you for being so kind to me." She cooed sweetly, as he brushed her hair behind her ear.

"You're very welcome. Now, how about we get to know each other better whilst we scan the footage?" Nathaniel proposed, going to the security monitor.

"Sounds like a good plan to me handsome!"

Let's Head To Nico…

A couple of hours at this point had passed by since the other nurses and staff members had agreed to go to the local bar to have a few drinks.

The only two who remained other than Nathaniel and Skyler were Pedro and Sofia. As Pedro still had to finish his shift, and Sofia still had some work to do in the garden before finishing up for the day.

Jewel was sat at one of the tables in the corner with Lila talking amongst themselves. Blu was currently in the bathroom, and RDJ was at the bar ordering drinks for everyone.

Lillian was at the jukebox picking a song to play. However, there weren't many good options.

"Ooooh, I'm still very sore down there." Jewel shuffled on her seat a little bit to get comfortable. Feeling quite sore after her activity with Lila and RDJ. "I don't know how you cope?"

"I have a special cream that I use to help with that. I'll order some for you when we get back to the asylum." Lila remarked and laid back on her seat.

"Thanks Lila. Anyway, I gotta ask you."

"What is it Jewel?"

"Do you, ever think about the future? Like, with RDJ?" The blue eyes girl remarked and cocked her head to the side.

"Like…What happens next week? Or what happens tomorrow?" She responded innocently, not really understanding the question properly.

"No no. I mean like, have you ever thought about you two…Being husband and wife? Kids?"

"Woah woah woah! Slow down there girl." Lila giggled and smirked a little bit. "Where is this coming from?"

"I don't know? I mean, you two have been together for nearly three years. I just figured maybe at some point you could always think about the possibility of getting married." Jewel remarked with a straight face. "I'm not saying you have to think about it right away. I'm just implying that it's possible to have a conversation about it."

"I mean, I have thought about what things would be like if we did get married and have kids. But right now I'm just focused on my job, my relationship with my boyfriend, and my friends. Right now that's all I'm focused on…"

From a distance, RDJ overheard everything that she just said. Considering that the bar was quite quiet for the time being.

He couldn't help but feel slightly disappointed that his girlfriend wasn't thinking about the possibility of the two of them getting married as her main thought. Which does put his plans on his three year anniversary in jeopardy. Considering that isn't what Lila wants right now.

"You okay there dude? You look a little flustered?" The bartender who was a yellow macaw man asked him politely.

"I'm okay Zeek. I'm just, thinking about some things." He didn't seem too happy with what he was saying. Almost an indication that what Lila said really had concerns rushing through his mind and he didn't know how to respond to it. Especially since in two days he planned to ask his girlfriend Lila to marry him. "I'll be alright though."

"Hey, I managed to find out the name of that cemetery that your mom was buried in after she passed away." Zeek slid over a piece of paper with an address written on it.

"Thanks dude. I owe you one."

"What are best friends for?" He gave his best friend a fist bump. Then he carried the drinks back to the table where Lila and Jewel were now talking to Nico. Who appeared to be looking all down in the dumps.

"What's the matter with you dude? You know that she is trying very hard to make things work in your relationship. But you seem to believe that nothing either of you are doing is even working?" Jewel seemed a little fiery when talking to the canary. Who only said one sentence.

"I just said that I think Lillian was making things difficult in our current situation. There is no need to pressure me like that." He answered quite annoyed, without raising his voice to cause a scene in the bar.

He spoke quite softly though so his girlfriend couldn't hear what he was saying. Especially since he has a lot of insecurities rushing through his mind.

"I know that the two of you have been having some intimacy issues as of late. But don't you think that you are partly to blame for it?" RDJ joined in on the conversation, sitting next to his girlfriend.

"I'm not saying that she is the only reason why. It's my fault too. It's just…Haaaa, I don't know. I'm not sure what to do."

"Just pull her panties down and fuck her silly." A drunk sparrow man at the bar overheard their conversation, and he laughed hysterically.

"Thanks, but I really don't need advice from you." He annoyingly glanced at him.

"Hey! I may be an old retired engineer son! But I fought in the war! Yes…I was one of the soldiers who was sent to fight the Nazis in WWII…"

"No you fucking weren't! You stole that medal of honour from your father, then you parade it around like a badge of honour. Luring women in to sleep with you." Zeek called out from the bar, cleaning one of his glasses.

"Yeah? So? I could still get any girl I want pal! Come to think of it…I know who I'd want to get down and dirty with tonight…" The male sparrow licked his beak while staring at Lila's boobs. Making RDJ stand up in front of her, as she covered her cleavage with her arms.

"That's enough old man. You better get out of here, before I make you leave." RDJ tried not to cause a scene. However, his blood boiled when the creepy man made his girlfriend uncomfortable. So it was taking a lot for him to stand there without letting his anger out.

"Woah there dude! Calm yoir self down sonny boy. I'm going. I'm going." Even though the male appeared to be incredibly drunk. He didn't want to get into a fight either. So he grabbed his coat and his hat. Leaving the bar rather sheepishly, leaving an annoyed blue and good man to calm down.

"Oh jeez…What the hell is up with that guy?" He remarked in a lot of frustration, whilst Lila began rubbing his shoulders in confident. As he sighed in relaxation.

"Thank you for defending my honour honey. Don't get too frustrated by him." She cooed in his ear lovingly.

"I'm sorry, it's just…"

"Don't worry about him! What's important now is we are all here, and we can enjoy the free time we have now. Before all of us head back to the hospital." Jewel added and gave him a pat on the back. "Now I believe it is my round. Same again bar keep!"

"You got it Jewel!" Zeek responded with a thumbs up, as he turned away to prepare their drinks.

"How did you and Zeek rekindle your friendship, after being locked up in the asylum after so long?" Nico asked RDJ, who shrugged his shoulders and wrapped his arm around Lila.

"I messaged him on Instagram a month after I started my job as the gardener three years back. And we went to the Flamengo vs São Paulo match! What a game that was. Did you know neither of them have ever been relegated before?" The blue and gold man grinned.

"Yeah but, Flamengo aren't exactly doing too well this season compared to last year." Blu remarked after he was drinking his beer. "Besides, I'm looking forward to the World Cup."

"Honey, the World Cup was two years ago. It's the Euros competition this year. And it's the Copa America this year silly!" Jewel giggled and kissed him on the cheek lovingly.

"Right…Sorry haha. I guess I don't follow soccer as much as I love my books."

"Nerd…" Lillian sneakily added to the conversation, making her boss give him an annoyed look.

"He may be a nerd, but he is the hottest nerd in the world!" Jewel defended her husband and kissed him lovingly on the beak. Making him smile dreamily at her.

"And who says nerds don't get the prettiest girls in the world?" Blu chuckled in response.

"That's strange because I'm not a nerd? Yet, I am with the prettiest girl in the world in my eyes." RDJ nuzzled his nose up against Lila's, who blushed a bright pink.

Lillian had heard both of the couples defend each other in such ways, that she almost felt a little bit jealous. Especially since Nico didn't even speak the same way about her in front of the others. Making her feel a little bit upset with him on the inside.

"Anyway guys, can we just talk about what happened in the news recently?" Nico in fact brought up some completely different conversation. Which not only frustrated his girlfriend a little bit, but took a few of them by complete surprise.

"What? About that Rodrigo Samars guy? What about him?" Jewel asked in curiosity.

"Are we just going to ignore the fact that he was released from prison, due to a fucking technicality?!" Lila cursed angrily, nearly breaking her drinking glass. "That guy nearly had me raped continuously and abused by F-F-Felipe.. " Even saying his name for her was a little too much for her.

"It wasn't a technicality Lila. He took a plea bargain due to the fact that technically he didn't kill anyone. He only ran the business. Felipe would have gotten longer." Nico pointed out in a calm manner. "Besides, he's on parole right now. So he can't afford to do anything stupid, or he will go back to prison for another thirty years or so."

"Well in that case, hopefully he ends up beating up some prick on a night out. Then gets locked up for another thirty years." Lila piped up, drinking another shot of vodka.

"I think you may have had enough to drink tonight honey." RDJ moved her empty glass away, and she gave him an annoyed glance.

"I can have one more…"

"Sweetie, please…You don't want to have another." He politely spoke in her ear in concern. Making her sigh and nod her head in agreement.

"You are probably right. Maybe it is best that we head back to the room now." Lila stood up and grabbed her coat from the coat stand. Following by RDJ who helped his girlfriend put her coat on. Before applying his own. "You guys coming?"

"Right behind you dude. We will just take care of the next tab." Jewel put her thumb up and winked at the blue and gold macaw. Who smirked and rolled his eyes, escorting his beloved out the bar. As the couple exited the bar, Jewel spun back around to face her husband. Who actually looked pretty annoyed with her. "What?"

"What was up with the wink?"

"What about it?"

"You just winked at him like he was a sweet treat." He narrowed his eyes and put a hand on the table.

"Well if he's a sweet treat, then he would he a banana split. He'd be the big banana, and I'd be doing the splits…" She naughtily whispered in his ear. To her of course it was meant to be a joke. But to him…it did seem to have come across as annoying to him.

"Funny. And what would that make me in this little treat equation?" Blu cocked his head to the side.

"You'd be the whip cream. Because while the banana was split, you played with the whip until you cream…"

"What the fuck are you guys talking about?" Nico was sat there completely lost on what they were talking about.

"Nothing…" Both of them responded nonchalantly. They weren't really ready at the time to tell everyone about the threesome yet. Especially Pedro, knowing the dirty perverted mind he had.

"Right…Well…I'm gonna go now? You coming Lillian?" Not wanting to push the answer further out of them, he decided that he too had enough drinking for one evening.

"Yes. Let's go." His beloved agreed and also left the bar with her boyfriend. Leaving Blu and Jewel alone.

"Why are you mad at me Blu? You agreed to this fantasy of mine, and it was your fantasy to watch it."

"I know, I'm sorry. I'm just…" Blu was going to finish his sentence, but his wife finished it off for him.

"A little jealous? Don't worry about it! That was only a one time thing with those two. As for you and me…" She leaned in and passionately kissed him on his beak with fiery passion. "It's an all time thing."

"Phew! That's big relief. I was afraid that after you had experienced a dick bigger than mine inside you, that you would want to try and pursue him…" He was still so insecure about his own body and talents. Which really made Jewel feel so hurt that he thought that she would leave him over, a couple extra inches?

"Baby…I would never pursue anyone else! When you put this ring on my finger, I knew that you were always going to be my one and only until death do us part!" Jewel reassured him with so much love. As her gorgeous turquoise eyes locked completely with his chocolate brown eyes. "I love you! Not anyone else. Only you my love!"

"Gosh, how did I get so lucky?" Blu thought to himself in his head after his wife had reassured him completely. Getting rid of his fears and insecurities. Replaced with that confident smile he always showed. "And I would do anything for you Jewel. You do know that right?"

"Of course I do!" Jewel nuzzled her cheek up against his cheek. As both of them fell into a deep trance for a moment…especially since the jukebox started to play 'Say You Say Me" by Lionel Richie. "Huaaaa! This is our song!"

"It is…Will you do me the honour of dancing with me?" Blu smiled dreamily at his wife, as the two of them stood up on the spot. And began slow dancing with each other romantically in the bar. As now nobody else was in there, apart from Zeek and the blue macaw couple.

"Haaaa…I gotta get me a girlfriend." Zeek sighed in silence, as he watched the husband and wife slow dance into the night.

Let's Head To Pedro And Sofia…

Back at the asylum, all of the remaining patients were back in their rooms ready to go to sleep for the night.

The majority of the demented patients were still up and running around their rooms like completely nut jobs.

But one place that wasn't a huge problem luckily…was the garden.

As the sun had begun its descent into the sea of clouds. Causing an orange aurora that highlighted the sky with a beautiful glow. Signalling that the skies were about to turn navy blue, before turning black. And all the starts and the moon would soon follow to provide the night sky with a crystal landscape that could be seen for miles.

Sofia was just finishing her shift after she was doing the most difficult task of the day last. Which you would have thought most people would always go for the more difficult of tasks before doing all of the easier ones.

However, not everyone works with that same sense of organisation. Sone people just prefer to wing it and go with the flow.

"Haaaa…Why are there so many rose petals in the pond this time of night? Are the patients climbing trees or doing something so incredibly stupid? Ughhh, oh well." She managed to collect all of the rose petals in her net and proceeded to put the net away in the supply shed. But before she did…

SNAP! (A twig snapping)

"Huh?" Sofia paused briefly before opening the shed with her key. Looking in the same direction where the twig noise came from. "Hello? Is someone over there?"

She didn't hear a response of an answer, so she didn't take any notice of it and went back to her main task at hand.

"Pedro? If that is you, then you can forget us talking later!" She put her hands on her hips and examine the direction closer. Which appeared to be coming from the woods. "Who the fuck is that?!"

"Who are you talking to?"

"AHHH SHIT!" Sofia didn't even think about it and grabbed whoever it was coming up behind her, and threw them into the lake head first.

SPLASH!

"PHUAAAAAAAAA! SOF?! WHAT THE FUCK?!" The person actually revealed to be a very annoyed red cardinal man.

"Oh! Sorry Pedro. I didn't see you coming!" Sofia immediately went a bright pink in embarrassment and extending her arm to pull him out of the lake. Luckily for him he only landed in the shallow end, so he couldn't drown. Unless he was incredibly stupid and couldn't swim to save his own life.

"Haaaa, it's fine. I shouldn't have snuck up on you like that. I just wanted to see if you needed any help at all? I've just finished my shift, and everything looks pretty much done in there." Pedro explained kindly, ringing out his clothes of the dirty lake water.

"Hmmm, nope. I'm pretty much done here cleaning up the lake…but…" The female cardinal paused dramatically for a moment, glancing at him in a very…sensual kind of way. "Perhaps…There is something you could do for me…"

"Ummm, sure! I mean, I did technically scare you so. What is it you need?" He answered very innocently, not really understanding where she was going with this.

"It's been a while since I've…had a…man in my life. And, I was kinda hoping you would…"

PCHHHHHHHHHHHH! (A crossbow bolt hit the tree next to where Sofia was standing)

"WHAT THE…" Both cardinals jumped at the same time, rendering Pedro to pull Sofia behind the kayak supply shack. Protecting her from any potential harm.

"WHAT WAS THAT?! WHO DID THAT?!" Sofia seemed to be a little shaken up, due to the fact that someone in fact just tried to kill her.

"I don't know? Let me check…" Pedro was about to peer around the corner of the shack, but the female cardinal grabbed him on the arm and pulled him back.

"Are you stupid or just plain retarded?! You put your head round there, you'll turn your head into a shish kebab!"

"Will you calm the fucking hell down hot tail?! I'm sure that someone was only trying to scare us. Now I am going to check it out. You stay here, and try not to scream like a little girl." He sarcastically responded with a little smirk.

But, as soon as he took one step in the open area beside the supply shack…another crossbow bolt struck the earth in front of him.

"AHHHHHHHHHHHH!" Pedro screeched in a high pitch girly voice, making Sofia smirk and sassily put a hand on her hip.

"Now who's the one screaming like a little girl?" She replied with a mischievous expression.

The sound of footsteps running away from them were heard, and now both cardinals could take a desk breath in relief. After having a near death experience.

"WHOEVER YOU ARE! SHOW YOURSELF!" Pedro screamed out loud in a thunderous and threatening tone. Almost being very intimidating and strong in an attempt to scare off whosever it was that tried to kill the two of them with a couple of bolts shot from a crossbow.

"Ummmm, Pedro? Who's…Felipe?" Sofia innocently asked the male cardinal with a bit of confusion. Especially after examining one of the crossbow bolts a little closer.

"What are you talking about?"

"Look at this." She handed the crossbow bolt over to him. And once he took hold of it, he noticed that there was a note strapped to the centre.

The note read:

Miss me tubby? You may have killed Felipe…But you will never stop us! We will take back what was stolen from us…R-

"R? The fuck?" Pedro was a little confused about this, giving the note back to her.

"R? Wait! RDJ?! Was it RDJ who…"

"No! He is the one who killed Felipe in self defence. He wouldn't have attempted to kill us. Especially when he was always a kind man." Pedro defended his close friend.

"If it wasn't him then, who was it?" Sofia sighed, putting a hand on her hip again.

"I don't know…But one thing is for certain now…" Pedro narrowed his eyes whilst the two of them emerged from behind cover. Gazing out into the woods with suspicious looks on their faces. "Whoever this person is…They are not alone…"

"What do you mean?" Sofia pondered with a curious eyebrow raised.

"What I mean is…I think the 'R' stands for Rodrigo. And he's not working alone…he has an accomplice!"

Ooooh, things are getting intense now aren't they? Skyler and Nathaniel are beginning to get to know each other a lot better. Nico opens up on what he believes is the problem in his relationship with Lillian. But his friends disagree. Lila is still a little shaken up about the fact Rodrigo was released from prison. Blu was a little upset that his wife was being a little flirty with RDJ. But she reminds him that he will always be her one and only. And now someone just tried to kill Sofia! And a mysterious message was left behind! So much to look forward to! So anyway, I hope you guys and girls enjoyed the chapter. I will see you all soon for the next one!
