Lol, this is really dumb. This probably WON'T be in the series (As most of my 50+ stories won't be -_-; ) but this is what I had in mind….
Amy was trained by her parents to be strong and vicious, they end up using her to do evil or bad things. (there criminals) they get captured though and are sentenced to death, to try and escape this fate, they blame the crimes on Amy, who is then heart broken by their betrayal. They let Amy go for 'being to young' to commit such sneaky crimes and her parents are locked away till their death day.
Amy then is alone, not even the foster home will take her in because she fights with the other kids.
Alone, without love, and craving for some kindness, she roams the streets and vows never to do evil again or end up like her cruel parents, who taught her that by hurting others, she can have what she wants.
Tails, being a foster child and also the kid who gets bullied, finds her and offers her some food.
He then teaches her what true friendship and kindness is, and that she should use her strength and ability to help others, not hurt them.
Through meeting Tails, later Knuckles, and then Sonic, Amy grows in having a very kind and generous heart, leading her to join the boys and try and protect instead of hurt people :)

I don't have much information on him in Sonic Boom, so I'm afraid my 'deductions' to what might be more 'accurate' in depicting what might happen with him in the show/game is limited to only my imagination :(
I'll try and use what I know of Canon!Shadow and see if i can think of something :)
(I've done so many sonamy headcanons I never really thought up others XD)
1. Shadow is out on a mission when he runs into Sonic. Sonic recognizes Shadow but forgets how he may know him. Shadow tells him to back off and let him do his work, but Sonic knows his work isn't for the good side of things and gives him a warning not to test him. Shadow and Sonic have a pretty intense fight, where Tails and Knuckles find them in the end, both pretty beat up, before collapsing when they see the two boys. (I headcanon that Shadow and Sonic have equal power levels, due to Sonic Adventure 2 showing them neck to neck and all.) Amy heals the boys up before realizing they had fought on an ancient ground with a rule. If battle wages, their must be a victor, or the two will be locked as 'one'. Shadow and Sonic are unable to leave the others side without fainting, and are forced to remain close to each other. This results in some hilarious banter and intense angry growling as Amy tries to get them to get along and have a 'friendly' battle to decide a winner. In the end, the two grow a bit close and learn to accept the other, resulting in the start of a strange friendship. Shadow and Sonic fight once again, after having a new found respect for the other, (they go through events together and learn to cooperate better than before) and Sonic ends up winning, because Shadow pulled back on the 'final hit' and let Sonic take the victory. The curse was broken and Shadow leaves, but before he does, the two share a bow/nod of the head to show their equal respects before he takes off. "Wow! I'm surprised you made friends with a character like that!" Knuckles states, as Sonic smiles and looks back at Knuckles. "I'm friends with you, aren't I?" "Hey.." Knuckles glares a warning at him, as Amy and Tails laugh before they share a group huddle. "We're all friends here! I hope Shadow comes to realize that and maybe even joins!" Amy states, as the three boys look a little awkwardly at each other. "Where would he sleep?" "He'd have to bunk with one of us…" "NOT IT!" Tails runs off from the huddle. "NOT IT!" Knuckles responds quickly after, running right behind Tails. "I could-" Amy starts before Sonic plugs her mouth with his hand and glares at the two boys. "THAT'S NOT FAIR!"
2. Shadow is injured facing off against Lyric alone after a rebellion. Eggman is disappointed in Shadow, but slightly respects and understands his betrayal. Shadow leaves, only to be found by Sticks as she 'captures' him, even though he's already greatly wounded and barely escaped with his life, and tries to treat him back at her burrow. She's about ready to call her friends and be praised for capturing a enemy spy, but slowly comes to fall for Shadow a bit, and doesn't have the heart to turn him in to the Sonic gang. Shadow is nursed back to health, and thanks her for her assistance, and returns to Eggman's side. Eggman plans to attack another location for a plan of his that Shadow recognizes on the map to be where Sticks lives and saved him. Remembering her kind but quirky attitude, he stops Eggman and makes up an excuse for why they shouldn't attack there. Eggman gives in, and Shadow looks back at the map, before moving on and following Eggman instead of Lyric. (This is suppose to show how Shadow has a 'heart' and isn't all bad. He… well, it's implied that he thinks of Sticks as a 'friend' now. :) I thought Sticks liking him would be cute XD And Tails could have a rival! lol)
