Can't sleep.
Both Sonic and Amy turned and just couldn't stand the noise of Tails staying up late and fixing his machines.
They got pretty damaged in battle, after all, but even then…
"TAILS! PEOPLE ARE TRYING TO SLEEP!" Sonic hollered from his room, taking his pillow from behind him and turning, slamming it over his face and letting out a muffled groan.
"You're not helping, Sonic!" Amy hollered back, turning to face-plant herself into her pillow, before screaming into it. "I'm tried too!"
"Sorry, guys! But I have to. Knuckles's isn't complaining!" Tails admitted, and went back to work.
"Ugh, we can't all sleep like a rock!" Amy shouted back, lifting her head from her pillow.
"….That's it!" Sonic got up, jumping from his window and walking outside, dusting himself off. "I'm going for a walk! And I'm probably sleeping in the trees again tonight, too!" he shouted back, mostly to Tails, as he stomped off angrily.
Amy rose from her bed and dashed to the window. "Wait! Sonic! Me too!" She quickly got into her adventure clothes and took off after him, not sure if he waited.
He didn't.
"Oh, come on!" Amy stomped her foot in frustration, and then took off to find him. "SOOOONNIICC!"
"Augh! Ugghh…. Amy, I left so I could find quiet, not have LOUD and ANNOYING follow me back here…" Sonic had woken up and hit his head on a tree branch, holding his hands to his face and trying to straighten his nose. "What do you want?"
"W-well…" Amy really just wanted to be with him, so she looked around and sat at the bottom of the tree. "Aren't you cold?"
"Is that why you came out here? To ask if I was cold?" he huffed, not being able to really tolerate this right now. "Look, if you're coming out here too then at least let me sleep…" he turned on the branch and tried to go to bed.
"…O-oh… okay…" She turned forward, rubbing her arms and sneezed in the cold night air.
"…Don't tell me you're-" he looked down, as she looked up, completely freezing and her mouth quivering with the noise that most people make when they're cold. "..Oh, come on!" he kicked in the air, but being a good hearted soul as he was, he just sighed and jumped down.
He took his scarf off and put it around her shoulders, then pulled her close. "Dang it! This is all, Tails's fault!" he grumbled, and leaned back on the tree's trunk.
"I..I didn't mean to make you-… well, if you want to go back on the branch-" Amy felt a bit guilty, and then got mad that his actions weren't really reflecting his tone of voice and looked away.
"It's fine. The bark was itchy, and I'm already down here, anyway…" he rolled his eyes, before realizing how soft and warm her quills were. "….hmph." he placed his head right behind her and tried to sleep, but the action made her jolt and her body shiver. He felt the sudden shiver in her and moved his head away, still drowsy and not realizing what she may be feeling or thinking… "Wow, you really are cold. I just felt your whole body shiver."
Amy's face was red, as her mouth wavered and her voice sounded like a fizzy radio that just can't make out a cohesive sound.
Sonic thought she was literally dying of cold, and he looked over to see her face, and thought the red from the chill. "..Holy cow, you really are cold! hold on!" he quickly picked her up, starting to worry, and ran over to where he knew a hot spring was.
He set her down rapidly and started taking his shoes off. "Quick, take your shoes off!"
"M-m-my what!?" Amy was more flustered than cold, but didn't want to say anything in fear of having to explain herself.
"Ahh~" he placed his feet into the water, shoes and socks to the side of him, as the hot water warmed him up and the steam kept his face a bit warm too. "Now this.. this is better than any blanket. Mother nature's own heating pad. Haha, what do you think?"
She had taken her shoes off and slowly started putting her foot in the water. "Oh! it's so hot!"
"Heh, that's the point. Come on, what are you, delicate or something? Oh, that's right… you're a girl, right?" he mocked, as she glared his way and wiggled her feet into the water, sucking it up and not letting him get away with a comment like that.
Her face was all scrunched up as he laughed. "Haha, well, THAT'S a cute face. Hahaha!" he teased, laughing loudly and hardy as she just couldn't help but look away and blush, before turning back to him with a faint smile.
She couldn't really stay mad at him long…
He was too darn charming!
"Thanks for bringing me here. It's a lot warmer now." Amy kicked her feet in the water, enjoying the warmth as Sonic nodded.
"Don't mention it. I really like this place. When that cloud moves from it's spot…oh! look-look-look!" he pointed his finger to the cloud, as it parted and the moon shone through the air, and the light of it hit the water and created a beautiful light show above the rippling waters.
"..Oh, Sonic… it's beautiful." she was awestruck by it's beauty, as Sonic adjusted his spot near her and rubbed his hands together, looking the water over. "Yeah… this is one of the things I love about finding a new place. The new beauties I find are just… well, to die for." he smiled to her, as she giggled and looked away.
"Yeah, I bet you find a lot of beauties on your travels." she scoffed, obviously taking about women.
He sadly…

"Oh yeah. Plenty. But I think it's better when there are wildflowers blooming around. I really love flowers, I know that's not exactly a manly thing, but I do."
Amy's face lit up with jealousy and rage, as she turned to him and took her feet out of the water quickly. "Oh, I can assure you, it sounds just like a man!" She grabbed her shoes and started heading away. "Hmph!"
"H-huh!? A-Amy? Wait, Amy, come back!" He quickly took his feet out of the water and put his shoes on, hopping on one leg as he tried not to lose her. Being the fastest thing in the world, that wouldn't be an issue, if it weren't for the fact that it was too dark to see her if she moved to far away. "Amy! Hold it for a second, what got you in such a-"
WHAM!
"Don't you ever speak to me again, Sonic The Hedgehog! Ugh! I bet you take all the Wildflowers you find to your new beautiful locations you find, right!?"
"W-what?!"
"I thought you'd be different!" she pulled her hammer away and seemed to be tearing up slightly. "Man… I really thought you…" she looked away.
"A-Amy… are you talking about… girls?" Sonic's eyebrow raised. "Amy.. I haven't been alone with a girl… till I met you."
Amy raised her head from looking sorrowfully away, and then back at Sonic.
"I mean, sure there's been girls I've met but… I've never been closer to any of them then I have with you. I mean, what girl can handle herself and take out robots and insane doctors and snakes with but you? What normal girl does that? That makes you the best girl out there! And a perfect best friend!" he patted her back, smiling. "I can count on you to have my back, right? Haha!"
Everything was going so well until 'normal girl' and 'best friend'.
"….Yeah, I'm a find." Amy sarcastically let out, realizing he wasn't trying to be romantic AT ALL with her right now…
"Heh, I thought so too." he grinned, and for a moment, she forgot her last thought as her eyes widened to how genuinely he had stated that comment.
A moment passed that they looked at each other, before Sonic nervously laughed and looked away, "Um… Amy?"
"..Yes?" she leaned a bit forward, her eyelids lowering as the camera began to zoom in.
"Um… this may be a bad time b-but…" he was leaning away, looking a bit worriedly at her intentions as she placed a hand on his chest.
"You may find it's the best of times…"
"Uhhhh….Well, okay. Listen it's just that-"
"Yes?"
"Well, you know you-"
"Uh-huh?" she started to tilt her head.
"Still… have my bandanna?" he closed his eyes and slightly turned his head away from her, before sparing a peek. "My feet are now freezing and I'd love to have it back."
"…"
"Amy?"
WHAM!
"Ugh! Men will be men!"
"Ow… what was that for?! Well, you didn't expect me to just let you KEEP it now, did you!? Amy! Wait, are you heading back? Amy, wait up! What was with that just now? Amy! AAAAMYYY!"
