Could you perhaps do a take on Sonic being obsessed over Amy, and her being off put by him affections? (basically switched roles) Maybe Eggman shot a laser at them that somehow switched their personalities around? XD

After Eggman created a 'Fault Gun' that is SUPPOSE to turn the shooter's feelings and emotions into being what Eggman feels and what not.
This was to have Sonic obey him, if Sonic wanted Eggman to have world domination, who would stop him? But while Eggman was in place to shoot Sonic, Amy fired her hammer and the whole mainframe of the device started to frizz out. Sonic ran to save her, as she jumped out to happily embrace him when the gun was fired, Eggman unknowingly hitting them both.
At first, the two's body were split and faded images on the screen, and then, those images shook and the faded versions swapped places. Putting half of Amy into Sonic and half of him into Amy. When Sonic caught Amy and landed they both had their eyes in shadows.
"Uh oh…" Eggman saw the gun malfunctioning, as Orbot quickly tried to fix it.
"T-this doesn't look good…" the whole thing exploded, as Cubot climbed up to the smokey window and looked down to see something… quite… odd…
"OH AMY! I WAS SO WORRIED ABOUT YOU! ooohhhh, how could you go and fight Eggman like that without me!?" Sonic was… strangely hugging Amy, being loud and having worry and small chibi tears spraying all around his head.
"Uhh… Sonic…" Amy had her eyes looking away, as she held her hands up to make sure his head didn't rub against her own. "You know I always have your back anyway, right? I'm a big girl, I can handle myself.."
"Yeah! But Eggman's big and scary!" he moved away from her and held his hands in tight fits up to himself. "I don't know what I'd do if I lost you!"
"U-uh.." Amy had an awkward tear drop on the side of her face. "I'm flattered… but… I'm really alright. I was just doing what I normally do. Helping you out, Sonic." she scratched behind her head, feeling he was being a bit weird too. "Anyway, that gun is destroyed, so we should be safe. but you can never be too careful."
"That's not right, Amy!" Sonic leaped to embrace her again, this time succeeding. "I have to protect and save you, remember?! Oh, please don't run off and leave me behind, what if you got hurt?"
"I-I'm fine! Sonic! Knock it off, will ya? Ugh…" Amy pushed against him, trying to get his doting self off when Eggman's burnt hand reached up and gripped the control panel, getting up and looking cooked, he puffed out some smoke and looked below.
"…HMMM?" he leaned forward, peering down at them and dropped his mouth. "…Oh.. that's not… oh dear." he put his hands up to his mouth, biting his nails slightly.
Tails had already gotten data on the gun, and while Eggman was distracted by the display before him, he started to get to work to correct the damage he had done. "Just stay in place you guys… I'll get you back to normal, I promise!" he whispered to himself, trying to hurry up and be quick about it.
"Sonic… you always worrying. You know I'm strong, right?" Amy moved Sonic away and flexed her arm, just being charming. "Besides, you're strong too! I really appreciated the help back there when I was falling." she winked to him, putting her hands on her hips, and trying to act cool. "But now that that's over with, I'm on to the next phase, and that's taunting ol'Eggbutt!" she gave Sonic a thumbs up and turned to smirk at Eggman. "Hey, Eggy! When are you gonna learn that the more toys you make, the more hammers I'll summon to smash them, huh?"
Eggman stood straight, shocked by Amy acting like Sonic would have, and just fumbled on his words, "Well, I-um, you see, that is-" he shook his head, wobbling his mouth, "NOW YOU LISTEN HERE SON-I mean, Amy! You're not my mortal enemy, so you don't get to talk to me that way!" he shook a finger at her leaning down and yelling as she rolled her eyes.
Sonic moved behind her, not cowering her but just placed a hand gently on her shoulder, and peek from behind her.
"And further more… how do you feel about Sonic?" He wanted to REALLY know if he had just swapped their personalities… or their hearts…
"Huh? What kind of question is that, Dr. Omelet?" she raised her eyebrow, smiling, as Sonic jolted and looked away.
"Well then, how about you, Sonic?" addressing Sonic as he would Amy was a little… weird to him, so he looked to Sonic with a skeptical scowl and with some awkward sweat drops steaming down his face. "Well?"
"…Me and Amy can't be beaten! As long as we're together, we can do anything!" Sonic came out from behind Amy, making a typical 'Amy motivational speech', before turning to Amy, looking ready to run. "Wanna prove it to him, Amy?" he looked excited, jumping left and right on each foot, itching to finish the job together.
"Uhh… heh…heheh." Amy just nervously laughed, having some of her OWN sweat drops on the side of her face, as she gave him an awkward smile. "Whatever you say, Sonic.. just as long as Eggman goes down Egg over easy!" Amy summoned her hammer as Eggman 'pfft'd and then started cracking up.
He hit his control monitor, already badly damaged, as Tails was secretly under it, and had to bounce his head in agitation at each blow he heard and feel the vibrations of it too.
"WHOHO, haha, HEHEHE, oh that was a good laugh. You two are literally the definition of 'the ol'switcheroo' HAHAAH! Look Orbot, role reversal! HAHAH!" Eggman held his stomach, laughing so hard as Sonic and Amy tilted their heads, not getting it apparently.
Tails suddenly popped his head up, "Got it!" he connected two cords together.
"Uhh.. what are you doing?" Eggman looked down to see the sparks and then started flipping out with Cubot and Orbot.
"Awww, why'da have to ruin the fun!? I wanted to see if Amy confessed to Sonic yet!" Cubot said before the room shone white and Tails ran out of the explosion to shoot the gun at them while the gun still had it's last surge of power left in it.
"Hold still you guys!" He fired the gun and it hit the two, the same process happened but the faded sides went back to where they were suppose too as Sonic and Amy blinked their eyes, and then looked at each other.
"Oh Sonic…" Amy dropped her hammer, and put her hands up to her face, hearts flying everywhere as Sonic slowly backed away, freaking out. "I HAD NO IDEA!" She threw herself at him and he bolted off the other way. "Huh?" she blinked her eyes and fell to the ground. "Ohhh, Sonic! I know you care about my safety and how you fell about my hugs so there's no need to run now!" she cried out, taking off after him. She sighed, "He's so shy~"
Tails wiped his brow, "Whew, that was getting a little to weird… haha."
