I've thought about this… but felt it was too cruel to take the one thing that makes Sonic so unique and amazing. I mean, he's THE FASTEST THING ALIVE, I mean, you just can't take that away from someone!

lol! people thought that my fanfiction (Rememory) was gonna have Sonic give up his speed to bring Amy's memories back, but YOU CAN NEVER PREDICT ME! :D (lol, sometimes I sound so puffed up, don't I? I'm sorry!) so instead, I just went with the unexpected.

I almost don't want to do this, but maybe it would be interesting to explore that psyche of Sonic's mind, and fully find out what he'd do.

I don't think it would stop him from acting, though. Like, he would still have a hero's heart, and still try and save the world, I just think he'd get frustrated and really depressed at times, but not let it slow him down mentally speaking… (poor guy :'( ) But that's kinda hard to type…

(Modern Sonic! I love how he thinks, though, Sonamy is kinda hard to do with him if you don't put him in the right mindset with the 'before' scene x)

Sonic jumps from tree to tree, tracking down Eggman through his medic robot that picks up the scraps of Robots laying around from Sonic's last run through, as it doesn't even detect his presence.

…Run through…

Boy, would Sonic love to really RUN right now!

With Eggman's laser gun zapping his foot, he was suddenly unable to run at top speeds with it, and he kept tripping over. Realizing Eggman might have invented something to take Sonic's speed away, Sonic slightly panicked, freaking out and trying to find a way to still win the match.

Amazed by his new invention, Eggman tried to fire more shots, but Tails, good old Tails!, swooped in with his X-Tornado and took out the laser gun.

Bent on truly crippling Sonic and not just one leg, Eggman escaped with a new goal, and vowed to return to claim all of Sonic's proud running capabilities!

Tails's needed that plasma that created the laser in Eggman's gun that blasted Sonic, if he can analysis it, Sonic might find a cure to his awkward, and now completely normal speed, foot!

He finally stopped to see the strange octopus/jellyfish looking medic pop look back, scanning around as he kept his back to the tree… waiting…

the robot clicked, seeing as the coast looked clear, and went into Eggman's secret lair.

Peeking out, Sonic smiled his signature grin, and tapped a communication device in his ear. "Tails, I'm at the entrance."

"Good work, Sonic! Gee, even without your speed, you're still able to do a lot, huh?" Tails's voice rang in his ear, as he looked down a moment, and then rolled his eyes, looking annoyed.

"I'd get it all done a lot FASTER like I'm meant to do. I just wanna fix my foot and give Old Nosehair what's coming to him!" Sonic shook his bad foot, as it just normally shook, and then shifted to his other leg, that when shook, was at super sonic speeds! Sonic made a disapproving look to his foot, upset they were so out of sync…

"Sonic, I know this is hard, but even without your speed, you're still Sonic The Hedgehog! And we're all with ya on this one! Let's get Eggman and give him what he deserves!"

"Thanks, buddy. I'm heading in." Sonic jumped down, and wobbled a little at how late his other foot was from stopping his fall. "Wo-woah..!"

"Roger that, Sonic. Good luck! And take it easy with your leg there…"

"Tsk." Sonic glared down at it. "I'd rather disown it." he muttered humorously, not being very serious, but definitely displeased his body wasn't doing what he wanted it too.

He couldn't spin dash well, considering it would wobble and go everywhere, and he couldn't control nor aim it properly without his body being in-sync.

He still was able to kick and smash, but it wasn't the same, and he just bounced in ball form most of the time on the robots that came to stop him.

Running like a normal person, he swung his arms to try and move faster, never having too before, as he wobbled and seemed awkwardly moving. "Man! How do people run like this!? I suddenly understand Amy's awkward footing!" he cried out, as he tripped on his bad leg and fell over, face first to the ground. "Offph!…ugh… And now I can relate with Knuckles…" he picked his head up and shook it, before looking back at his foot again, and hitting it to the ground. "Come on, Sonic! You're better than this!" he got up, and tried to shake himself off of the hopeless feeling he was starting to get, and just shook his head. "Come on, come on. Don't let them down." he ran on, trying to figure out how to slow his other foot down to match his now slightly crippled other leg.

"I can figure this out, that's it, just a slower rhythm." he mumbled to himself, though you could tell his pride was greatly hurt. "Eggman… when I find you…" he growled, looking forward.

Finally finding the plasma tank Tails mentioned, Sonic took a scoop up in a tube Tails gave him and started to head out, before Eggman cut him off.

"Hello…Sonic!" Eggman leaned forward, looking downright ready for action and maybe even being ready to gloat before he even had won…

"We meet again, fun stealer!" Sonic accusingly points. "What? So you think I'm not a threat just cause I've got one foot down? Haha! You should know, Eggman!" he confidently shook his finger back and forth, standing tall. "I'm not one to lose so easily!" he folded his arms, and grinned.

"HAHAHAHAHA! You still insist on talking big after I, the GREAT and POWERFUL Doctor Eggman, have completely STRIPPED you of your most important, and might I add ANNOYING, quality~ Without your speed, Sonic… you are NOTHING!" Eggman mocked, as Sonic glared, but kept that same smile… "Grrrrrr, why are you STILL SMILING!?" Eggman reeled his controls back as his mega egg-2 fired up and prepared for battle again, after Sonic trashed the first one last time… "I'll wipe that smile right off your face! Showing you how pathetically vulnerable you are without your speed, you're truly have your spirits CRUSHED once you accept your new fate, Sonic The Hedgehog!"

As the battle commenced, Sonic gritted his teeth and still tried to be quick, having his reflexes and all, but he was growing more frustrated and angry by the minute! He knew he could get this over quickly, and have fun while doing it too, if he only had his speed!

"WHAHAHAHA!" Eggman laughed. "I've got to admit, it's a lot EASIER keeping track of you like this." he mocked.

And throughout the battle… he mocked….

"Gee, Sonic, I can finally see that beautiful FEAR coming from your eyes when, oh, you know, you're not some blasted smudge on my receptor screens."

"Sonic?~ Sonic, where are you? Oh, that's right, you're DEAD INSIDE! hahahaha!"

"Sonic, I've been meaning to ask you but, does the world look different now that you can't move at the speed of sound? Hmm, maybe now you can learn to smell THE OIL OF YOUR DEMISE! hahaah!"

"Wh-hey! Lookie at that! I've never lasted this long in a battle against you. It must be my lucky day! Or maybe, it's just because you're finally in your PLACE. Below my Mega Egg-2's feet!"

"Dodge this Sonic! Why are you so slow? Oh, that's right, YOU'RE A SNAIL NOW! hahahha! Sonic the Snail! It has a type of ring to it. I like it, no, love it…"

"Laugh all you want, Egghead! I'm still beating you!" Sonic was getting tossed around, and finally, fell to the ground, as he struggled to get up.

"HAHAHAHA! Beating me? BEATING ME?! As far as anyone's concerned, Sonic, I'm the one beating the snot out of you! Hahaha!" he stomped up further to Sonic with his robot, and placed a foot lightly down above him, heel down, toe up. "Now, be a good little annoying rodent and die painfully as I finally squish you like the little insect you are…"

"Rodent, insect… Come on, Eggman. Urk!… you should known by now…" Sonic got up, as the robot's foot slowly moved down, and Eggman leaned forward, a twinkle in his eye.

"DIE."

"I'm… not a rodent." He held his arm, and looked up, seeing the giant foot coming down, and lifted his bad leg.

ZOOM.

STOMMMMP.

"…WHAT!?" Eggman looked to the side, seeing a blur for a moment as Sonic was out of the way of the foot, looking down and keeping his eyes closed… "How-wha-I…How did you-!?" Eggman looked flabbergasted, looking down and to the robotic foot, and then to Sonic. "H-h-how did you dodge that!?" he exclaimed. "You've lost your speed! You're NOTHING!"

Eggman fired some missiles, as Sonic hopped at lightning speeds on his good foot, finding a new way of moving fast!

"Wha-huh-bah…WHAT?!" Eggman exclaimed, putting his hands on his heads. "You're…you're HOPPING now?!"

"I'm not a insect either!" Having his undying spirit to prevail, Sonic thought quickly and acted on impulsed instinct. Finally getting the upper hand and starting to hurt the robot again.

"But…B-b-but that's impossible!" Eggman just let out a huge fury of missiles and punches, not caring where he aimed as Sonic blasted around the room.

"I'M." he jumped with his good leg up a few times on the robot, coming right up to Eggman's cockpit.

"AH!" Eggman freaked out.

"A." Sonic spun horizontally, instead of going down to curl up, he spun like a whirlwind, and curled up then.

"HEDGEHOG!" he rammed like a disc into the robot over and over again, denting and finally blasting through the protective armor, and shooting Eggman out into the air as he flopped to the ground.

"AHHHHH! OFFPH! Uhh…" he got up and his head was spinning, little Sonic's going 'nah-nah-nana-nah!' in high pitched voices and sticking their tongues out at him and having their hands to the side of their faces.

Sonic jumped down and pulled out the tube, throwing it up and catching it with expertise. "Even without my speed, there's still plenty of room on that big egg butt of yours for me to kick around!" Sonic mocked, and ran out on his good leg, hopping quickly, and doing some flips in the air as he did so.

Now, enjoying his new way of moving fast, Sonic 'yahoo'd!' and felt like his old self again, before finally going to Tails, as he made a new laser gun and blasted Sonic's foot with it.

"OWWW!" Sonic lifted his leg up, hopping as it hurt to be shot, and gripped it a little afterwords, sighing.

"Oh! S-sorry, Sonic!" Tails apologized, before slightly laughing. "I did say it would sting a bit."

"Sting? Felt more like a wallop!" Sonic shook out his foot, and started bouncing a bit on each foot, getting back in the zone.

"..Sonic? Did it work?" Tails asked, seeing Sonic stretch and look to the door, getting ready to run.

"I'm about to ask myself the same thing." Sonic grinned, and in a rush of wind, he was out the door faster than ever.

Dashing past Amy, she was spun around before catching herself from falling over, and looked back, amazed to see Sonic was alright again, and extremely happy to see it.

Sonic did all kinds of flips, enjoying the freedom of running, and having his old self back, he would never forget how he was still a hero, even down one leg. He learned something important, and that's that even without his speed…

He's still, Sonic. Sonic… The Hedgehog!
