Hi there! I have a prompt for you. While keeping the characters as canon as possible (modern Sonic ) can you do a story where Sonic and Amy have already established a relationship with each other. I'm curious as of to how their interactions would be, or if it would change anything. They could be in battle, or simply spending the day together. That is up to you. Have fun with it.

"While keeping the characters as canon as possible" Oh boy! :D "already established a relationship" D8 OH NO!
Lol! The thing is…
If it's canon… it's not… 'established' XD lol! But I see what you mean.
Here's the other thingamajig. Um… -scratches neck- if it's to be as in character as possible… it will be hard to actually have them be… -sigh- acting as though they were in a relationship…
I take this seriously because what if you were a guy who wrote for the Sonic series? Testing me. I know that's a long shot, but I try and write everything as if it's a job interview (unless I'm dead-tried and don't know what I'm writing but hoping it turns out swell enough lol). So… I will do my best, but to keep it as canon as possible, I can't necessarily say if their 'in one' or not. It can't even be implied!
BUT!
You know, and I know, and everyone reading knows, that they just don't have a 'title' on it, can we go with that? Yes? Good? Off we go then!
(If you ask me, they're already kinda in a 'no titles' relationship at some points in hinted canon, so let's just assume they are faithful to one another and just don't state it bluntly ;) )
HOWEVER! for the sake of the story and your request, I will try to hint at something, but that will lessen the likelihood of it being considered full canon-writing :( However, it will still be massively cute XD
World: Canon! (Modern Sonic Games)
Couple: Sonamy
Summary: -up top with slight variation-
Prompt:
"Noo!"
"Haha!"
"Why you little-..! Ingrates! He's already gone through most of the attractions! One more sweep of the spinning egg-crackers and a fatal dive through Roller-coaster typhoon which he's already railed through and-!"
"Doctor! H-he's-!" Orbot interrupted Eggman's shouting at his robots beneath the control center of yet another miniature death theme park before finally getting his attention and tapping a finger towards the outside. "Here." he simulated a high-pitched frequency, showing his concern as the Hedgehog stood with hands resting on his hips, looking up with a signature grin on his face.
He stepped from one foot to another, as more explosions of burning attractions he just raced through exploded around him. He had beaten each mini-game, and behind him watched some Robots scurry to clean up or race away from falling parts that crushed them by sheer weight and volume.
Eggman's mustache twitched, before he leaned forward and growled, swinging himself up, and grabbing the microphone. "So! You've managed to live through my Egg-tastic Demise park. Very…. expected of you." he rubbed two fingers between where his nose and glasses met, before swinging an arm out and slamming it to his controls. "No matter! If you want to find your whiny little girlfriend, she's in the cave-!" he gestured to the right of him, as Sonic took his eyes there, following the line of direction and then letting his arms rest to his side, sizing up the dark carnival ride.
"The cave… of fated-DEATH." Eggman laughed, before Cubot came twirling back, having dent marks all over his head.
"Cubot! What on earth happened to you!?" Orbot caught his big, cubed head as he fell, looking over him in what appeared to be concern.
"That girl bonked me more times on the head than I have fingers to count on!" he complained, groaning. "I can't even tell if I have fingers!" he then hollered out, "I can't even remember how many fingers we're suppose to have!"
"There, there. You're safe now." Orbot patted his dented head as Cubot groaned again.
"What does he see in her?"
"A lot of lost hopes." Eggman muttered out, not quite sure why Sonic stuck around with the girl either, as he pulled the mic down. "Now listen, Sonic!"
Sonic spat out a quick chuckle, hearing the conversation over the speaker was kinda amusing, but he was getting bored being so still on his feet.
He folded his arms and started tapping his foot. "Anytime, Eggman. We're not getting any younger! And for you, that's gotta be a threat."
"Grrr… If you want to save your girlfriend, you're going to have to the face the dark of the unknown!" Eggman was getting ticked, and quickly sat up and started pressing some buttons.
Within the cave, it sounded like something opened, and it caused a deep moaning sound of wind from within.
Sonic moved back, eyeing the cave again.
"Good luck.. or better yet, I'd leave it at the door if I were you. You know, safe keeping! Ta-tah~" he wiggled his hands and the mic screeched off.
"Finally." Sonic stretched out and rotated his arm, warming up before racing into the cave. "The unknown? I'm so acquainted with it, I basically know it's face!" as he traveled further down, Sonic's body faded into the engulfing darkness. "Yep. This is it's face."
Going through the creepy cave with robotic-dolls and sowed up hearts that flung out at you to bonk you off the path, Sonic finally managed to get through the creepy cave of love rip-off and saw a silhouette of Amy in a bird cage.
"Amy!" he cried up to her, but she didn't move.
Gritting his teeth, he started to make his way up to the bird cage, reaching out for it, before it turned to reveal a doll, which only laughed it's mechanical cry before the birdcage zoomed up and Sonic noticed he had climbed a giant robot, designed to look like a mixture between the swan boat of these rides and one of Eggman's robots.
Teddy bears attacked below with the leaking water as Sonic would have to maneuver through the darkness and take out the boss, which would swing the birdcage at him and drag it back.
"I might not know much about love-!" Sonic exclaimed, dodging a creepy bear and wagging another one off his leg. "But I'm pretty sure this is just plain creepy!"
"Whohoho! Had enough yet?" Eggman's voice boomed, before the swan-machine's feathers spiked the ground as he ran around. "Well, too bad! Whohohoho! You'll never find Amy at this rate!"
With that last comment, Sonic suddenly took a serious turn.
Literally.
He skidded to the right and bulldozed through the teddy bears, taking out each of the boss's deadly dagger wings and then throwing the teddy bear-mechas at it's missiles that would shoot out from its heart's center.
The bears would explode and it would momentarily shake it's head, unable to move, as Sonic would spin dash the center, before the machine finally squawked and finally blew up at different levels before being finished.
Sonic raced out and ducked to the side of the cave as the explosion lit up the cave's mouth, firing out debris that Sonic narrowly escaped.
"Alright, I'm done with silly games." Sonic stood up, glaring up at the control panel. "Where is she?!" he called, as Eggman's slow rise in laughter echoed from the mic.
He was leaning down, before taking the mic in hand again and lifting his head up. "Hehehe,… you want her so bad, come up here and face the ring-leader for her then! Which would be me!"
Sonic didn't need to be told twice, narrowing his eyes on his new objective, he made his way up the control pillar, beating up machine clowns and other robots Eggman redesigned for his attraction.
"But, sir! Don't you think leading him here will only set up a trap for ourselves?" Orbot cautioned, as Eggman opened a metal sliding door as it rolled upwards to reveal Amy, tied up and looking forlorn before turning to Eggman and biting down on her teeth.
"…" Eggman stared long at hard at her, before folding his arms, and speaking to Orbot behind him.
"You know… Orbot. They've known each other for some time now…"
"S-sire?" Orbot flinched a little, surprised by the sudden shift in his demeanor.
"…Do you think he'd really save a girl a few… oh, I don't know… couple of hundred times for… for duties sake?"
The puzzling question was actually calculated seriously by Orbot, as he tilted his head and scratched under his orb'd head.
"Well… I would believe that over time, his natural impulse to keep her safe would just… pull him to the conclusion of saving her all the time. I wouldn't see much of it, other than-"
"Other than..?" Eggman sighed, knowing the answer as he looked down. "Other than that he might actually have some sort of other reason for keeping her safe…"
"…B-but he's saved so many girls before! Hasn't he? I'll pull up the records." Orbot paused for a while, but spoke up again, about to turn around, and started hovering off before Eggman stopped him.
"Don't bother… all the records you'll ever need of it are right here."
Orbot turned around, putting a finger up near his metallic mouth, seeing as he was implying himself as that record.
He floated back to Eggman, twiddling his fingers slightly, before looking back up at him.
"If… my conclusions are right… he'll stop at nothing to save her… nor will the countless times I use her as bait ever not work out for me…" He looked at his reflection in the glass, and at Amy's sudden change in her facial features.
She couldn't hear him, but she did notice his sudden shift in body-language, and wondered what was being discussed.
"Hmm…" Eggman sighed. "It's only boring to keep using the same scheme… time and time again…"
"What are you saying..? Doctor?"
"I'm saying- put her down." Eggman turned around, and began to walk to his last resort against Sonic.
"P-p-put her down? After all it took for us to kidnap her?" Orbot looked exhausted just by that fleet alone, and sighed, as he trailed over to the controls, where Cubot was still sitting with an ice-pack over his head.
"OOOoooOOOoohhh.." He groaned, and was jolted slightly by the water on his circuits.
"Well, ol'chap. Looks like we're never going to need to encounter that intimidating hammer again."
"You mean it, Orbot?" with the most sincerest tone of voice, Cubot looked up to Orbot, and motioned a hand out to him.
"Yes, Cubot. We're not kidnapping another of Sonic's friends, so it appears." He then pressed a button that unlocked a lever, as he slowly cranked it down, and Amy's cell slowly lowered down the elevator to the last floor.
Sonic burst into the boss's stage, and cracked his knuckles. "It's late, Eggman. This spooky theme park adventure of yours took a solid day for me to bust! I'm feelin' it's time to crack your plans and fry them for tomorrow's breakfast!" Sonic tapped his foot behind him, and prepared for a final party.
"Whohoho! Clever…" Eggman groaned out the joke, seeing the time was almost morning anyway, and seeing as he was kinda old…
He rubbed his hand over his face, and swung out his arms. "If your blasted girlfriend wasn't such a bother to procure, I'd have wasted no time in seizing your spiky blue head about now! But no matter, I'm threw with giving you a free date-card with her! From now on, if you want to heroically save someone, expect another villain to help you out!" Eggman locked his eggpod into place for the massive robot juggler's hat, and reared it into a fighting position, egging Sonic on to come and attack.
"Huh?" Sonic didn't get it, but figured that might be Eggman's way of saying he'd leave Amy alone from now on…
"While the morning's young! heheh…heh.." he actually didn't like fighting in the morning… but maybe that would mean Sonic's tried enough too..
Nope, he looked energized and ready to go.
"Darn morning people." Eggman muttered to himself, seeing Sonic jump from side to side, boxing the air and ready to go.
"Well, if that's the case! I'll just keep my love-life to myself from now on!" Sonic teased, before looking ready to charge.
"What love-life? You're too stupid to even realize if you HAD a love-life!" Eggman took the first bowling pin and threw it at Sonic, as he skillfully spin-dashed along it's curve and rammed the juggling robot in it's face near where Eggman was.
"Offph!"
"Whether I do or don't, that's none of your bushiness,Old man!″
"It would be if I cared at all anymore." As if suggesting he knew something, he kept it low under his breath, and leaned up from his exhausted drape over the side of his eggpod, and hoisted himself up to keep going.
At the end of the battle, the two frightened robots stood holding one another and shaking in front of Sonic, who walked up to them and stopped just a little ways away from them, and smirked down towards them, putting a hand to his hip.
"S-she's not here!" "Don't hurt us!"
"What!?" Sonic spread his arms back, and stomped a foot down slightly. "Again? When will you ever learn! After I trump Egg-face, I get my friend back! It's not suppose to be a wild-goose chase here!" He folded his arms after scolding them, as the two continued to cower before him.
"I-it wasn't our idea!" "What a role reversal, huh? K-kinda funny." "Shush it, Cubot!"
Sonic rolled his eyes.
"H-he asked us to let her go!"
"Huh?" Sonic looked down, blinking his eyes. "Let her go? Where?"
"SOOONNIIICC…." there was a loud yawn outside, and some lips smacking as it seemed a drowsy Amy Rose had made her long trip down the elevator and finally out of the building. "Soooonnnn-oh, I give up." In her sleepiness, she sat down and looked around, before her eyes shot open in shock.
"What!?" she saw all the fire and the robots scurrying around to try and clean up and stop the forever explosions. "Ugh, he's always got to make things explode, doesn't he?" she shook her head, as Sonic, from the top of the control tower, looked down with both hands on the window, seeing her sitting at a bench, and smiled.
"Well, that'll do it." he nodded, seeing his objective in keeping Amy safe fulfilled, he looked back to the robots. "Get some sleep, you guys. Or, uh… charge up for the night! Well… Day… anyway, and put Eggy to bed while you're at it! He's not waking up anytime soon!" Sonic chuckled, waving a finger at them lazily as he made his way to the stairs.
Down beneath, Sonic raced up to the bench, about to say hello, before smiling with a humorous grin at Amy laying across the bench, looking asleep.
He carefully tip-toed in front of her, and tried to get his hands under her just right to lift her up without stirring her.
It didn't work, however, as her eyes blinked open slightly, "Emmm…?"
He made a face, before pulling off a charming smile. "Sorry, Sleeping Beauty. But this doesn't look like your flowerbed to me." he teased, and lifted her up, having her jump a bit in his arms to get a good grip and comfortable bridal-style fit going, before racing off.
"I… I don't wanna go to bed." Amy complained, though her voice clearly sounded like she was already half asleep anyway.
"What do you mean? A second ago, you were out like a light!" Sonic laughed to himself, realizing she was probably talking in her sleep.
"N…no.. I wanna stay… with you. I waited… it's not… fair."
Her words caught him slightly off guard, but at least she didn't ask him to marry her.
He looked down at her and decided to joke around. "I don't know, Amy… those eyes of yours sure look droopy."
"No! I'm… emm… awake…"
"Tails said that by the looks of it, Eggman had got ya right in the morning. Which means you've been up for some time now. Don't you just… want to lay back? Relax? Take a nice, deep breath and…" he leaned his head back as he saw her take a final breath of consciousness, and nodded when he heard her fade into sleep. "That's what I thought." he smirked to himself.
Racing her home, the ride itself was a pleasant one, as he tried to keep her sleeping through it.
She woke up at one point, making Sonic shake his head, "You're too stubborn for your own good."
"Don't take me home…" she begged, but her voice was groggy, which only made this even more funnier.
"Haha! I'm nocturnal, Amy! I don't know if you have the energy to stay up with me, and this early?" he looked down, seeing her move her head closer to his chest, trying to get comfortable again.
"I'm.. like a… battery… I don't get… sleepy…" she yawned.
"Eh, suit yourself." Sonic shrugged, knowing she'd be asleep again pretty soon anyways.
"…Sonic…"
He looked down again, this time a little looking like- 'what?'.
"…Promise me…"
"Hmm?"
"You… emm… won't take me home?"
He thought about it a moment, realizing she would keep trying to force herself awake if he didn't say something. "Alright, Amy. You win." he smiled, looking ahead again.
"P…Promise?" she peeked up at him, her sleepy expression made him give her a soft, reassuring look, as he leaned his head down, stopping a moment in his run, and nodding to her.
"Promise…"
A few blinks, a tilt of Sonic's head with a questioning eyebrow that raised up, wondering if she'd really fall back asleep this time, and she was out again.
He laughed, and looked up at the night sky. "Well… then there's that." he laughed again. "But I'm Sonic The Hedgehog…" he looked back at Amy, kindly. "And I don't break promises…"
He watched her head swing back down from being up against his chest, and his fingers slightly letting her move under his grasp, before twiddling and holding his grip on her again.
"I also don't make promises… I can't keep." he grinned, a look he'd never let show around anyone.
Not even Amy.
Coming up to Tails's place, he placed her on the couch and thanked Tails, before dashing off, seeing Tails yawn and go back upstairs after putting a blanket over Amy.
Amy squirmed in her sleep, but smiled, dreaming of a night where her and Sonic were admiring the stars… sitting close together, and her leaning her head on his shoulder, and him looking back to her…
before leaning his head on her own.
(The characters are in character, but the canon isn't all quite there. I hope it was enough Anon! :D if you ever need another prompt, I'm here for you!)
