In the dead of the night, Sonic worried about how he was going to get Amy to Tails, since so many of those monsters were lurking around, and he had already fought off a good majority of them to get to her…

"Maybe we should just wait till morning, Sonic?" Chip suggested, and flew down to look at Amy in his arms, knocked out from fighting so many of those guys to get somewhere safe… "She looks like she could use the rest too…"

Sonic moaned out a disheartening sigh, shaking his head and looking to Amy, worriedly…

He then looked up to Chip, "We'll stay till sunrise. But I don't want her seeing me like… this." he gestured to himself.

"What's wrong with you, Sonic? She was out looking for YOU, wasn't she? Wouldn't she be glad to see you're alright?" Chip asked, confused as to why Sonic didn't want to be seen by her.

Sonic looked up and scratched his long nail against his nose. "Well…That's…emmm…" he seemed to not know what to say, as he looked down then, and then back to Chip. "It's not important. Let's just get Amy somewhere safe."

"Right!" Chip saluted, and dived down, arms spread out like plane wings, as he guided Sonic to a safe location.

Sonic looked around, finding the park to be kinda spooky with how empty it was, and laid Amy down on a bench. His fingers lingered as he moved some of her quills to the side, seeing her sweet face and breathing softly as she slept…

"…She's cute. But you probably already knew that, huh, Sonic?" Chip suddenly appeared to spook Sonic out of his thoughts, as he placed his hands on his right shoulder.

"Wha-huh? Gruuh…" Sonic looked to Chip in surprise, before lowering his eyelids in annoyance, being displeased as he shook his head and grabbed Chip, moving him off his shoulder and groaning again.

"H-hey! What's the big deal, Sonic?" chip adjusted himself and his gem, before flying back up to Sonic. "She's someone special to you, right, Sonic?"

Sonic looked over his shoulder, and groaned again, not commenting as he laid down, hoping to actually get some sleep this night too.

"Oh, come on, Sonic!" Chip shook his arm, really pressing for an answer. "She's cute, huh, Sonic? Come on! Admit it!"

"Good to sleep, Chip." Sonic grumbled out.

"Awwww, Sooonic!" Chip kept pestering him as Sonic finally took his long arm, gripped Chip, jingled him a little in the air, and then tossed him away.

Chip had swirls in his eyes, before shaking his head and pouting, narrowing his eyes and holding his fists up to his sides and downwards. "Fine! So don't tell me! But I'm sleeping next to her tonight, bleh!" he stuck his tongue out at Sonic after turning around and folding his arms, and flew over to Amy, laying in the space between her arms and cozying on up to her.

He started breathing softly, as if asleep, before a huge blue hand gripped around him like a stress toy, making his eyes pop out a moment, as Sonic pulled him back under his arm, glaring, and then closing his eyes to sleep.

A silent warning…

Chip looked up, struggling to get out, before folding his arms and pouting, giving up. He then laughed, "I knew you'd stop me." he nudged his arm and snickered as he yawned, "But gee… I hope she doesn't get cold all the way alone over there.." he stretched and then curled up in Sonic's arm.

Sonic peeked an eye open, seeing he was asleep at last, and looked up to see Amy, still quietly sleeping.

Looking back at Chip, he made a face, moving his mouth to the side of his muzzle as if Chip had a point.

Suddenly, a gentle and slow hand moved around Amy's waist, and she was slowly lifted to his side.

"I'll be up before she even knew I was here." he mumbled, and awkwardly bobbed his head a moment, not sure where to put it, and not wanting to be too close to her head, and finally put it a ways away from him.

Chip opened an eye and smirked, 'Keh, keh, keh…" he snickered, seeing Sonic had a heart for the girl after all, and fell back to sleep. "Someone's got a special girl-hog~"
