Wild Link and Sonic should go save the multiverse or somthing

Prompt:
At first, Sonic was surprised that Link didn't recognize him.
After already meeting while Sonic was trying to save his world from the deadly Lost World, he tried to point to himself and jog Link's memory.
Link was already having trouble with memory… so Sonic figured he must have forgotten about him too.
He pointed to himself and leaned forward, bobbing a bit as he explained he had been thrust into this universe and locked their by accident.
In order to get out, Sonic had to help Link beat the evil from his world, since the Master Sword could 'seal away' any power.
Maybe the power keeping him there too.
Traveling over the large map, Sonic enjoyed the meals and fighting off other wild animals, glad there weren't any hedgehogs there.
He grinned to Link as they took on the fiery volcano, soared the skies, blazed through the desert, loving the ride.
But the water… he had to skip out on that one, but didn't like missing all the fun.
Once stopping while Link had a memory flash, Sonic looked around the torn up castle and noticed a picture of the young Princess.
He picked it up and took a look as Link was off in his own world a moment.
He admired her a minute, putting his hand to his chin and tapping it lightly, before grinning and shaking it over to Link's way.
"So, is this who you were sworn to protect?"
Link snapped out of his memories, shaking his head before gasping lightly at the picture, a bit in shock from how much he remembered every detail of her.
"Is that a yes?"
Link nodded, before lightly looking away as if… worried.
"Hey, you didn't fail her buddy." Sonic stepped forward, holding out his hand and then winking as he shook a finger around. "You were just a little late to the party. But we'll fix that and end this all right here-" he punched his fist into his other hand. "Right now."
He handed Link the picture, as Link did his signature 'I've got an item!' and then put it in his bag.
"Hahaha! Been a while since I've seen that!" Sonic laughed, hands on his hips and letting the hardy laughter commence forth!
Once Calamity Ganon was defeated, Link reunited with Zelda, and Sonic stayed out of the happy reunion as he just watched contently from a distance.
He then looked behind him, seeing a frog of sorts and letting that steal his attention away a moment.
"Peace at last…" he smiled, watching it hop away before raising his head up to the sky, letting the breeze take him a moment…
"It's so different… then back home." he felt a little longing in his chest for his own world… and that's when Link and Zelda pulled his attention again, having been behind him now.
"Whoops! Sorry about that. Didn't mean to keep you waiting." He grinned, embarrassingly scratching the back of his head, before gesturing to Link. "But come on! I've got my own world to save!"
He walked between and by the two, as Zelda put a hand up to her mouth and giggled lightly into it, before the two went to the Master Sword's resting place.
Immediately, as Sonic had thought, the power that was keeping him there broke as it was once again returned, and his Chaos Emeralds spiraled into the world.
"Alright!" he spun around, posing his signature stance before jumping up, curling, and popping out in Super form!
"Thanks again, old friend." He smiled and nodded down to Link, before flying up in his face, startling him, and pointing to himself again.
"Do you remember me now? Huh? Do ya?"
Link, regrettably, shook his head, sweat dropping in nerves.
"Ohh.. that's too bad. Heh. Well, a new meeting is still better than no meeting!" he clasped his hand, before flying off into the sky, giving one last wave goodbye.
"Don't be a stranger!" he teased, "See ya around, Hero of Time! And don't forget this time- I'm the Hero of Speed! Chaos Control!" Sonic blasted through the sky, warping out of known existence…
