Classic Sonamy -The Past-

'Why was this girl always up in my business!?'

A shy, younger Sonic scooted back on the rock he was once lounging on, however, now that this pink hedgehog girl had spotted him… he couldn't get a moment of shuteye!

His face grew hot as her bright, genuine smile seemed to be in open competition with the sun, leaving Sonic to deny any position to judge it further.

He jumped backwards and landed on the rock, scowling a moment for her to see he didn't want anything to do with her, but also just turned his head, remembering not to be rude to girls.

He dashed away to avoid further sullying his good name, especially to a girl who was such a big fan of him. But as he looked back to see how far he had traveled, he saw her sit down by the rock and sigh…

'Oh no!' he saw her smile fade… 'That's no good!' He skidded to a halt, feeling like a bolt from heaven punishing him for being so abrupt with her.

He took a big, deep breath… summoning his best heroic posture and raced back, sheepishly smiling as he scooped up a flower and held it in front of her face.

His eyes scanned for approval and acceptance… 'I'm sorry, I'm sorry, please don't cry, I didn't mean it!'

When her innocent, sweet, and forlorn faced looked back at him… it darn near broke his heart to see how much leaving her had pained that beautiful smile…

'W-well, smile. Beautiful is a bit of… an after-thought at most… ehem.' He seemed to be narrating for himself…

Suddenly, as her eyes were surprised by his return, they glided over gently to the image of the flower. It's vibrant colors danced in her glossy eyes as what he waited for suddenly began to spread across her muzzle..!

His eyes widened to take in the fullness of that shimmering light, the smile that seemed to send it's glowing radiance straight to his heart.

'Oh no…' he told himself mentally. 'I'm in a trouble..!' he tightened his lips as much as possible, trying so hard to not reveal how much he was marveling at how quickly she could bring that sunrise up again from such sorrowful darkness…

He then scratched behind his head when she took the flowers, her touch sending a miniature storm of punishing lightning bolts through his fingers as he stepped up… and slowly made sure she was fine.

She sniffed the flower… and upon cutely tilting her head to thank him, he was gone.

Modern Sonamy -Present-

Amy was going off about something…

But that didn't mean he wasn't watching the sun rise against her soft, beige pink muzzle as her smile was slightly obstructed by her pink right quill gently rocking and swaying in front of it as he watched her profile move with her words he actively was ignoring.

He leaned on his hand and just stared at her… it was truly a punishment of heaven that he couldn't leave her side for too long… or else that smile may disappear from his world for good.

'Naughty quill.' He glared teasingly at the quill when she turned her head more and it fully covered his view of her curled lips… just happily bobbing away on some tangent he didn't really care about. 'Get out of 'ere…'

He had this act down to a 'T', for totally undetected.

Raising his pinkie-finger, he perfected his art of the stealthy removal of her quill, lightly tucking it behind some other bundled strains of quills so they could stick together and he could see her better.

However, her head turned in her excitement within her one-sided conversation, and he wasn't fully able to complete the mission.

With a streak of blue, he pulled his beige hand back and looked off, as though pretending to be lost in the beauty of the world…

She looked a little saddened, but never lost that kind smile…

She looked away and back up ahead, stopping whatever she was talking about, and fiddling with the white trim part of her dress.

He waited, knowing she would continue shortly…

And as she did, he stealthily began the procedure again… pulling his tongue out in his concentration to the side of his own mouth, 'Carefully… carefully…'

In all honesty, when Amy asked what his favorite thing about nature was… he had to hold himself back from telling her the truth.

His hand quickly reverted back to his side once the mission was accomplished, but this time… she seemed to move her hand up to her hair, as though wondering why her quills were bundled like so…

As she adjusted it, ruining his beautiful craftmanship, he sighed and decided to answer her question for her.

"The sunrise." He lifted a leg up and let his arm lean against it, counter-weighting against him. "…It always brightens up my day." He looked back at her smile…

She lost it though, which made him pout.

"Really? Is that why you come find me around this time? To see the sunrise together?" She giggled into her hands.

Again, another obstruction, but more difficult to deal with this time.

"Something like that." He gently looked back at the sky, waiting for her to move her hands on her own.

He knew her well enough to know when the clouds would part and he'd be able to go blind looking at the sunlight from her happiness being around him again…

"I get a better view of it from your place." He grinned, knowing full well what kinda smooth play he was making in his own metaphor. "You just happen to be around my favorite spot."

He looked back at her…

'Where I can bask in that feeling… of how much you adore… being with me…'
