Anyone else head cannon sonic whenever he doesn't get enough attention from Amy does certain things to get her attention? Like it's the slightest thing he does, but he knows it will get her attention cuz he knows her so well? And it's almost unnoticeable but he knows what he's doing? Idk i like to think he may word things a certain way or do a certain action just to get a certain reaction back sometimes.

I've also kind of noticed he already does this in cannon Sometimes tho it's extremely subtle. Tho i head cannon it to be just a tad bit more forward XD

I was not summoned, and yet, I am here.

Prompt:

"You're gonna lose your cool if you keep acting like it doesn't bother you."

"Sonic, sweetie, please be quiet!"

Climbing up a hollow ruin tower with just their hands and feet was a little nerve-wracking for Amy, but Sonic said if she could keep up, he'd let her tag along.

She thought he was taking the most obnoxious routes to get through the zone on purpose, and although she didn't complain, she was starting to get exhausted.

"Sure you don't need my-?"

"Just fine! No need to worry, right? Just keep running, just keep running~ ... ugh..." Amy finally stopped. "Okay, okay! You can carry me!"

He grinned from ear to ear, closing his eyes as he put his hands on his hips. "'bout time, I thought you'd never notice!"

"N-notice?" she looked up at him. Her eyes then sparkled with realization, "Wait... this whole time, were you just waiting for me to ask for your help?"

"Why'd you think I took the smooth route?"

"Smooth route!" She grew angry, turning behind her as her hands shook into fists by her sides, then threw them out to gesture to the area they just climbed through. "You call THIS easier on a lady?!"

He opened his eyes and gave her a kinder smile, tilting his head.

She looked puzzled... but turning to actually look back...

She gasped, the way was much more dangerous if he had gone the regular route, and Eggman had set up tons of traps.

"I felt bad for Eggy." Sonic scratched behind his head, keeping it cool. "All that hard work... but, I couldn't let you think I was leaving you behind!"

She was about to cry, knowing how much he loved swerving through Eggman's pitfall traps and spiking into the badniks.

She turned around with bumbling sobs, but he kept on going-

He rubbed his nose, "If I didn't take you the other way, I wouldn't have been able to slow down, and you could have gotten hurt. Besides, it's fun to look back and see ya tagging along! I didn't want to take that feeling of scaling a tower or rushing through long-winding tunnels away from ya! That's the best!"

"You went the other way... for me?"

He turned away from her and put his hands behind his back, "Besides... You haven't really been yourself lately. You act like you don't want to get too close anymore... I can't really say I understand why, but I didn't want you thinking I was doing the same."

She plugged her mouth, "S-...Sonic..!"

He then looked back in glee, "You never complained, though! So I figured you wanted to prove yourself or something... anyway, at least now, I don't have to seem ungentlemanly." He walked back over to her and spread his arms out. "Here, time to dash!" he winked, charmingly. "And this time, you can hold me as tight as you want, no holding back or nothin', deal?"

She threw herself into his arms.

"AHH! Amy! H-hey!"

"Ohh, Sonic! I missed you so much! I just didn't want you thinking I was burdening you! When you said I could come if I could keep up, I didn't realize you wanted me to ask! I always thought you didn't like holding me bridal style after... after I grew up..." She held him tightly, and Sonic's face softened now that it wasn't in front of her.

No show.

No games.

He took a deep breath.

"I missed this."

He admitted.

"H-huh?" Her eyes sparkled a second, before he scooped her up into a bridal embrace.

"I knew you couldn't keep your rascally hands off of me!" he teased.

"Oh!" Amy's face grew flustered but also upset at his jab at her pride. "Y-you! I was trying to be considerate of your feelings!" she started whacking him, but he took each hit with appreciation.

He skated through the map, not letting one thing slip by.

It wasn't that he was annoyed with her at all.

He just wanted his usual attention, and he could tell she was holding some of that 'Sonic lovin' back! And he couldn't have his precious friend feel lonely or sad, now... could he? ;)
